Misguided avadhuta harming girls

Misguided avadhuta harming girls

Namaskar,

It is quite sad and shocking how one Dada openly inculcated the raksha bandhan dogma into our Ananda Marga school. Our schools are meant to be the paragon of neo-humanistic values but with the Raksha Bandhan dogma Dada ji is imposing a terrible inferiority complex in the minds of these young, impressionable schoolgirls.

Dada ji talks about the dogmatic Raksha Bandhan ritual in a very misguided and glorified manner. See how he described it for his video:

“Raksha Bandhan translates to "the knot of protection". A key ritual involves sisters tying a sacred thread called a rakhi on their brothers' wrists as a symbol of love and prayers for their welfare. Brothers, in turn, pledge protection and often exchange gifts. The ceremony typically includes sisters performing aarti, applying a tilak on their brothers' foreheads, and sharing sweets. Rakhi festival celebrated at ananda marga school.” (Dogmatic description from Dada’s youtube channel)

The above stands as a double sin. First, those young girls are being indoctrinated into the view that sisters are cowardly and meek and need someone to protect them, and, secondly, it is shocking that this WT / avadhuta is so dogmatic and has no clue about AM teachings.

See how in the below photo Dada is accepting the rakhi (thread) from all of these young girls by encouraging them to tie a rakhi or thread around his wrist. This seeps into their psyche and teaches them to be submissive to the dominant male hierarchy. Please read more below the photo to understand how harmful this really is.

See how in the above photo Dada is accepting the rakhi (thread) from all of these young girls. Sadly, Dada is shamelessly imposing this Raksha Bandhan dogma on these girls in the name of AM education. This completely undermines our AM values. Please read more about this in the below links.
