ANANDA MARGA RULE:

BOYS AND GIRLS RAISED SEPARATELY

~ Part 2 ~

Note: This is the second letter on this topic. A link to the earlier letter titled - "Didi Attached with 19-Year-Old Boy" - has been appended below.

Warning: If you do not care about the teachings of Ananda Marga and Guru's given Wt conduct rules for monks, then there is no need for you to read this letter.

Namaskar,
One of Baba’s key rules is that boys and girls should grow up separately. Home boys will be raised by male managers or Dadas, and home girls will be cared for my female managers or Didis. Often, children first come in our custody at a tender young age – and in each case they should be placed in a gender-appropriate home.

Unfortunately, some female wts, who go against the moral codes, have greater attraction for the boys; it seems they get some kind of animal satisfaction from raising boys of 4 – 5 yrs of age. Their animal instinct grows more. And that is what we see allegedly happening with Didi D and Shubham (19-years-old). Still Didi D clutches on to him very tightly.

This type of nepotism sets a very bad precedent. Because Didi D is allegedly so engrossed with her attachment for Shubham that she could not care about her main duties of acarya life. In that way so many dharmic works have been overlooked. Due to extreme infatuation with Shubham, Didi has her lost way – she forgot her main role in life.

A similar type of situation happened in the series of reports in the earlier letter where the foster mother had illicit relations with her son etc. This is clear-cut reason why we must not tolerate any slackness in conduct rules (appended below).

Because when a person is infatuated with the opposite sex, then they are completely blind and cannot understand right from wrong. Intoxicated in this way, they cannot distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour.

GIRLS SHOULD BE IN DIDI'S CHILDRENS HOME

BOYS SHOULD BE IN DADA'S CHILDRENS HOME

The case of Didi D allegedly keeping Shubham in her close proximity has triggered a very negative trend in our Marga where many Didis are keeping boys in their company. Yet the clear-cut directive of Guru is that boys will be in a children’s home run by Dadas and girls will be in a children’s home with a Didi. There is not to be any mixing of the sexes in this regard.

KEEPING SHUBHAM IN GIRLS CHILDRENS HOME

RUINS THE SANCTITY AND PUTS GIRLS AT RISK

Just see what a negative effect this mixing of the sexes has. In the very same children’s home where Shubham was staying, one of the teenage girls allegedly ran off with a neighborhood boy. Some naive persons will think, “What does this have to do with Shubham?” But keeping Shubham as a permanent resident of the children’s home, and in the company of all the girls, is a distinct infringement. As he is around all the time he gossips with and touches them.

The 19-year-old Shubham’s presence ruins the whole environment and sanctity of the children’s home. Instead of learning dharmic principles, those young impressionable girls become enticed. And this is exacerbated by Didiji introducing them to pseudo-culture where they watch cheap love movies every evening etc. And obviously the whole reason Shubham is living in the Didi’s children’s home is because Didi herself has become completely attached to him. Yet now look what has happened. This is one incident of many wherever our children’s homes are contravening the code by being co-ed.

By having Shubham in their proximity 24/7, their vrttis of those developing girls get excited. Instead of harnessing their potential towards dharmic ideals, those girls become completely aroused and extroverted with the constant reminder of Shubham, a male figure their midst.

TEENAGE HOME GIRL RAN OFF WITH A NEIGHBORHOOD BOY

In result, one teenage girl from the children’s home allegedly ran off with one neighborhood man who was much older than she was.  It was a big scandal whereby the police were called and brought onto the scene because she was a minor. Before the police could track them down, the girl and that older man got married and he was beating her everyday. She could not bear it so after three months she came back. This is the fault of Ananda Dyotana; because of her, one girl's life was ruined. Now that girl is mostly depressed and sad.

Fortunately, the runaway girl made it back to the children's home before getting picked up by international sex traffickers etc. But the damage was done.

And it all started the moment Didi D brought boys into the girls children’s home. And this type of problem is spreading all around. More Didis are bringing boys – of all ages – into their care. And those boys become fixtures in those homes. They do chores, play with the girls, and develop a close link with Didi.

OVERSEAS MONEY IS FILLING THE BANK ACCOUNTS:

THIS MUST BE STOPPED - OTHERWISE NO HOPE

Through it all, overseas money is allegedly filling the bank accounts of those Didis running these homes for girls. By showing the photos of the kids and pleading for their cause, Didi solicits maximum donations. Naturally, margiis and sympathizers want to help those children so they offer generous contributions. Mostly though, it is the Didi - or the didi's laokik family - that is the beneficiary of those funds, not the children. This has been detailed extensively in prior investigations.

Actually this problem of Didi D keeping Shubham (19 yrs of age) close by her side has been pointed out publicly for at least two years. Many margiis of India have confronted Didiji, but she always gives the same response. She justifies that the overseas margiis support her and give her financial contributions. So she is only accountable to them.

Didi is able to befool those overseas margiis because they do not see exactly what is going on. Just they hear Didiji's tales of woe and difficulty and she shows them pictures of the kids. In turn, the heart-strings of those overseas donors are pulled; Didi appeals to their sense of mercy. And those altruistic overseas margiis fail to realiae that Didi is merely "playing her cards."

Because she herself is collecting huge funds for that children's home - far more than what is needed. So she just diverts all those funds for her own personal use and disposal. Didiji leads a shameful life; yet, with her appeals of mercy and her top global posting she is able to garner big monies from overseas donors. The only way to stop her antics is to cut her bloodline: The moment money stops getting pumped into her pocket from overseas margiis, then Didi can be held in check. Till that time - never. Because she does not want to be separated from her infatuation nor listen to the voice of reason. So the only way to resolve this is through monetary punishment - stop the donations.

If you point out a good, moral person about their mistake, then they will be inclined to fix the problem as best they can. But this Didi is not of that moral fiber. Her character is completely different. She is more like those depraved persons: If you point them out they do not care. They continue on in their wrongdoing until they are absolutely forced to stop via circumstantial pressure.

And that is exactly the case with Didi. And the only thing she will listen to is money. If she is really cut off from her funding, she will feel the pinch and be forced to curtail her nasty habits and dealing. Till that time she feels justified and empowered in her wrongdoing. Such is her horrible state of mind.

So again I will say: All overseas monies must be cut; that is the only way to stop this massive landslide, i.e. Didi's irresponsible and bad dealing that fully contravenes Guru's mandates.

WHY CENTRE HAS BEEN UNABLE TO INTERCEDE

Here the main point of this letter is that introduction of boys into a girls children's home run by Didis contravenes Baba's guideline and disrupts the children's home.

The reason why Centre does not step in and intercede is because many of those Dadas are allegedly already involved in illicit affairs of their own and thus lack the moral strength and courage to take action. So they become passive facilitators of the debacle in those children's homes.

MARGIIS COME FORWARD AND MAKE HUE AND CRY

The only option left is for margiis to come forward and take direct action. Margiis must demand that police interview the children to hear from them directly what is going on. The situation is that dire. In any civilised land, child abuse is a punishable offense and not reporting it is also a crime. The time has come to boldly to step up and examine this unfortunate and tragic situation.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE THERE MUST NOT BE ANY CONFUSION

Here everyone should be clear that Didiji is not a family person. She is a yogic nun of Ananda Marga - a renunciate. By keeping a grown male in her midst she is not following the conduct rules of an avadhutika. So her dealing is highly objectionable. If a family person is living with the opposite sex that is completely normal; for a nun it is completely abnormal. If one cannot follow the rule then they should give up the dress. Didi's conduct and dealing must be that of a yogic nun / avadhutika. That is the point at hand.

"It should be remembered that a woman’s friend is a woman and a man’s friend is a man." (Caryacarya, part 1, Social Relationship between Men and Women)

“One should not look at the face of the opposite sex.” (37 Workers Rules, Point #15)

"Under no circumstances should the purity of the body and mind be polluted." (32 Rules for Avadhu'tikas, pt #30)

SUMMARY

This type of unfortunate incident where our home girls run off with the opposite sex happens when the given codes and rules are not followed. Then the path of degeneration opens up wide. To stop all such incidents, this letter is one small effort.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Kamala

Note 1: WHO IS DIDI D AND SHUBHAM

In the above account, Didi D refers to Didi Ananda Dyotana and Shubham is Shubham the 19 year-man who has been raised by Didi ji. This is completely against the ethics of Ananda Marga.

Prior Didi was very close to and linked with Dada Nigamanandji. Since his death, Didiji has seemingly needed some other male figure for her animal satisfaction. That is why she is keeping Shubham.

Note 2: PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO DIDIJI

Kindly forward this letter to Didi Ananda Dyotana, and if you have her email address please send it to me as well - thank you.

The section below demarcated by asterisks is an entirely different topic,

completely unrelated to the above material. It stands on its own as a point of interest.

*******************************************************
In Ananda Marga Guru Puja is One Lesson

"Question: What is pratyáhára?"

"Answer: Pratyáhára is derived: prati – á – hr + ghaiṋ. The word áhára literally means “assimilating” or “taking something within”. As a yogic practice, pratyáhára means “withdrawal of the mind from external objectivity and goading the withdrawn mind toward Parama Puruśa”. (Yoga Psychology, Questions and Answers on Meditation)

"You must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with the His glorious colour. In Ananda Marga Sadhana, the method of withdrawing the mind from degrading tendencies, and absorbing oneself in the colour of the Great, is called Pratyáhára Yoga (the yoga of withdrawal) or Varńárghyadána (the offering of colours). All people have a particular attraction for one or another object or activity and as soon as they become attracted to an object, then their minds become coloured with the colour of that object. You can withdraw your mind from the colour of that object and dye yourself in His colour by offering Him the captivating colour of the object that has attracted you: this is the real Pratyáhára Yoga. The word Pratyáhára means “to withdraw” – to withdraw the mind from its object." (Subhasita Samgraha - 3, Vibration, Form and Colour)

Note: In Astaunga Yoga,  there are 8 limbs - one of which is pratyahara. We practice that as Guru puja as part of our regular sadhana routine. Guru puja is very important. After sadhana, one should always do Guru puja, and Guru puja can also be done on its own. After all, it is a lesson. By this way, one's attachment for mundane things slowly fades away. It is a perfect science. If, after practicing Guru puja, one is unable to get rid of their worldly attachments and / or a particular mental weakness, then best is to consult an acarya. In Senior Acarya Diary, Baba has given a detailed science and method for practicing Guru puja. One should learn how to do this from any acarya, one on one.

~ Repentance: "Why Did I Not Keep You In My Heart" ~

PS Intro: The relationship between the bhakta and Parama Purusa is eternal - it has been going on since the very dawn of creation. However, the devotee was not always aware of this truth. Ages and ages passed when the sadhaka did not realise his unique and intimate connection with Parama Purusa. So when any sadhaka does get initiated and starts doing strong sadhana and becomes linked with Parama Purusa and feels His divine love and becomes drenched in His bliss, then that sadhaka feels repentant for not developing his relationship with Parama Purusa sooner. This song expresses this very notion of repentance and wishful thinking. Because in this song the sadhaka is expressing the following directly to Parama Purusa:

'In the past I was not aware about my relation with You. So now, when I have been blessed to come in Your contact and feel in my heart that You are my nearest and dearest One, then I feel sad that why did I not call You before, in the past - long, long back. Because even when I was a non-margii then that very time also You were with me. But I never look towards You those days and I never called You back then. Why did I not do so. Why did I not recognise You back then, it would have been so blissful to have had Your proximity all these years, but instead so much time passed in vain.'

So this song expresses the feeling of repentance of each and every devotee who has become linked with Parama Purusa as they reflect back on their life before becoming a margii. They wonder, 'Why did I remain oblivious of You - it would have been blissful if I had deep intimacy with You sooner'.

Prabhat Samgiita #241:

First Stanza:

Sakal dvidha' sariye diye dhya'ne dhari ni

Refrain: Tumi a'ma'r kata a'pan a'ge bujhi ni

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, You are very close to me; You are my Dearest One. Before, in the past, I was oblivious to this sacred truth: That You are my eternal Companion. All along, You were side by side with me - near me always and with me wherever I was, in all endeavours. But it was so unfortunate that I remained unaware of Your divine presence. I never thought that You were with me. O' my Dearmost, why did I not call You and have Your intimate closeness.

Baba, since time immemorial You have been with me in all my works - small or big, meaningful and meaningless. But unfortunately that time I did not look towards You. Baba, You were with me in my song, rhythm, and tune. There was never any occasion when You were not there right by my side. And the string of that viina was vibrating then and resonates even today. And now I can hear it. But it is so sad and painful how that time in the past I remained oblivious of You. I did not pay heed to the call of Your viina. I did not hear it. O' my Dearmost, why did I not hear. Alas, it would have been so blissful if I had known You.

O’ Divine Entity, You were with me on this journey of life, even when I was submerged in the deep cimmerian darkness. Even then You were with me. And now that very memory remains awake in my mind always – that You were with me. It comes again and again in my mind that You are my close and You are with me. But alas, all that time in the past I remained oblivious of You and I did not call You. And I remained distant; devotionally I could not come close, although You were with me. It is so sad. Only now I know You are there and I can call and talk to You. Today I understand this truth; but in the past I did know You were there. O’ Supreme One, why did my spiritual life not start at the very outset. I feel so repentant that I did not call You in those early days. Because I was not calling You, You felt hurt so You went away, leaving me alone in isolation in an unknown place and distant land. That time, why did I not keep You in my heart and hold Your feet. Why did I not wipe away all my dilemmas about You and hold You in dhyana and make You mine. Why did I not do this. It is so sad that time passed and You remained distant. And now today we are close and I feel so repent how my life would have been so blissful having Your proximity earlier. This pain I carry in my heart, O' my Dearmost...

Not H. But Cowards + 3 More

NOT HEROES BUT COWARDS

Namaskar,
All want to see our Ananda Marga thrive and this letter has been written in the spirit having everyone move together in the same flow. It is a welcoming letter that also takes note of certain harmful trends.

SOME WORKING OUTSIDE THE PARAMETERS OF AMPS

These days you may have seen how a few have taken to running their own Master Unit’s, service projects, jagrtis, splinter groups etc – thereby keeping themselves separate & outside the parameters of the organisation (AMPS).

Or some have engrossed themselves in other projects and kept themselves as one island – away from the main flow of Ananda Marga. This is one trend.

Regardless of their intentions, it is our duty to understand whether this is in harmony with creating a united AMPS, or if this undermines that process. With a balanced and calm mind and an acute sense of viveka we should examine this issue.

At present, knowingly or unknowingly, many people are waiting on the guidelines of Mahasambhuti in order to sprout into action. The general society is depending upon Ananda Marga ideals. So if one is just wallowing in mid-air and being a fence-sitter or escaping entirely, then they are failing to live up to their social responsibility. They are going against Guru’s teaching. Baba wants us to take a firm stand against division and apathy and unite all under one roof.

So this type of running away is cowardice psychology and cannot be supported under any conditions.

BABA’S DIVINE ARRIVAL

As we all know Baba’s holy advent is for the development of one human society. From the very get-go this has been His chief aim: To create a unified humanity.

So if some create their own separate projects or own way of doing and living, then how can they say they are following Baba. Following Baba means following His teachings. Doing in service to Guru means following Guru’s guidelines.

First and foremost, Baba’s teaching is that above all else we should live unitedly.

Baba refers to “unshakeable unity” as being our premier asset. (1)

This following analogy helps put this in perspective.

If one’s own house is on fire they will not merely watch or run away; they will take all kinds of efforts to put out the fire. Only those who do not care about that house and do not think of it as their own will turn their back and let it burn. Same is the case with the critical situation going on in AMPS. Those who care will not merely watch or run away; they will take purposeful efforts to bring AMPS back onto the right track. Only those who do not care about AMPS will leave and allow the organization to fall deeper into disarray. Such persons are just cowardly pseudo-margiis. Those who stay and put out the fire - i.e. solve the issues and establish unity - are the real dharmikas.

UNDER THE BANNER OF A GREAT IDEOLOGY AND UNIFIED HUMANITY

Society – i.e. living unitedly in an organised fashion – is indispensable for the public welfare – without it the potentialities, capabilities, talents, and inherent strengths of human beings cannot be explored and utilized.

In this ultra-modern era, life has become so complex that people must work unitedly. This is the need of the day. By that way with only a little effort more yield will come. And in His famous discourse Baba guides us that ‘this is not the age of small countries and big animals’. Those days are long gone; the world is changing. Now one must organise and work unitedly in a single flow under the banner of a great ideology and unified humanity. These are all Baba’s main guidelines.

MORE THAN 1,000,000 DOGMATIC ASHRAMS

Hence Baba condemns this idea of isolating oneself and creating one’s own independent ashram. India is now full of more than 1,000,000 ashrams but this has no positive effect on the collective development and overcoming the social dogmas of the day.

That is why Baba wants us to create one stir whereby all sannyasis and family persons move together and construct one indivisible human society.

Indeed Baba has built this AMPS organisation explicitly for this dharmic purpose. Towards that aim He has brought together people from all the various countries and all the various races – from each and every corner. He has graciously laid down all the requisite principles for creating a unified humanity – and that unity starts in AMPS.

Yet now a few are breaking away and separating themselves in order to pursue their own project(s). Does this not undermine Baba’s foundational teaching. This separatist strategy is neither good for the short-term nor for the long-term. Most alarmingly, it is diametrically opposite to Baba’s mandate.

Baba tells us to remain united in all circumstances, yet at the first sign of trouble, some are breaking away to start their own separate something. No true Ananda Margii can support such a misguided manner.

PEOPLE OF COWARDICE MENTALITY

Unfortunately, some innocent and naive people are getting misled to believe that those breaking away to start their own thing are great. But if really such separatists were so concerned about dharma then what about Baba’s teaching to form one united front as a step towards forming one human society. Indeed all Baba’s teachings and actions move in that direction. The approach taken by such separatists is their cowardice mentality.

ISOLATING ONESELF IS NOT GOOD

If one does not believe in groupism then one should oppose it. Remaining neutral or ignoring the problem entirely like Shankaracarya is not the proper approach. Nor is it helpful to create a parallel project or structure as that undermines unity. Forever forward into the future there will be clash.

Where there is injustice we – all brothers and sisters of the Marga – should stand firm and fight for the great cause. Disappearing into one far away garden does not serve the purpose. It does not take any strength or energy to be a goody-goody, coward. And isolating oneself in that way is not good.

Baba says, “The characteristic of good people is to fight against injustice, to firmly adhere to truth and righteousness, to protect the helpless and fight against all evil persons. Those who are merely simple and are of a meek and goody-goody nature are not good people. ” (2)

MUST NOT BE LULLED INTO THINKING THEY ARE “GREAT”

The main point being that if our very own AMPS organisation is not in proper shape then one should do and die to fix it. Indeed this AMPS is the very vehicle which Baba Himself has handed down to us for spreading the word of dharma. So at any cost one should not become the negative tool of its disintegration by breaking away.

But a few have adopted an escapist mentality whereby they flee during difficult times. Thus revealing their true colour. And other naive people have been lulled into thinking that such separatists are great.

EVERY ANANDA MARGII TO REMAIN UNITED

Baba’s eternal, dharmic guidelines are sure to take shape in our AMPS. Running off to the edges of the earth will not do. With His great blessing we are moving toward that grand stance of collective movement and unity.

Baba says, “Always remain united and organised. Solve all problems big and small in a united way. Advise every Ananda Margii to remain united at all times.” (3)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The unity of A’nanda Ma’rgiis should not be allowed to be jeopardised for any reason." (4)

Baba says, “Unity should be maintained even at the risk of your life.” (5)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The marching together of all in unison is termed as the society...” (6)

Namaskar
In Him,
Gautam

Example: People Blindly Follow Even Unintelligent Leaders

"The behaviour of the respected and elder persons in society is an example and ideal for others; it is followed and imitated by the succeeding generations as well. Today there is catastrophe and misery in human society and there is one reason: the defective leadership of society. People blindly follow even unintelligent leaders. The leaders hypnotize and attract thousands with their tall talks, gestures and other dramatics. Understand that the poverty and misery of any people in any country are the sins of the leaders. True leaders should always be vigilant and think how to work best for human society: they must be ever cautious that under their guidance the people are not led to darkness, death and immorality." Re: Mahaprayan (Death) of Shrii Mangal Bihari ji

Namaskar,
I knew Mangal Biharijii. From mr R Prasad. In the 60's and 70's AM flourished in India and many people from abroad came to meet our Beloved Guru and both these devotees greeted us that came so far to see this Master.  Many of us would never have gotten into the country or known where to stay if these two had not ushered us into India and Ranchi and New Delhi.  The stories they told and the love they had for Baba was great

Very sad news but with great hope we will all meet again under His (Shrii Shrii Ananda Murtijii) guidance in a much more Spiritually advanced society

By His Grace only.

Mahaprayan (Death) of Ac. Akhouri Himachal Prasad

Dear brothers and sisters,
Namaskar.

Namaskar,
It is with much sorrow that I share with you news of the mahaprayan* (death) of Ac. Akhouri Himachal Prasad. At the time of his mahaprayan he was 90 years of age and had long served and dedicated in Ananda Marga.

Originally from Bhojpur, he held many posts in police dept. As an Ananda Margii, he made substantial contributions for advancing the mission. All who knew him understood him as a man of integrity and selflessness who was ever-ready to serve and sacrifice for the great cause.

May we all take solace in the fact that Ac. Akhouri Himachal Prasad was a devotee of the Lord. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His grace.

With deepest regards,
Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Shankar Bhandari

Note 1: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL MAHAPRAYAN AND FAKE MPD

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa Himself. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa.

Note 2: ASTERISK NOTE ABOUT MAHAPRAYAN

* Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in Bengal to describe the death of an honoured or even ordinary person. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily devotional term to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no devotees ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Those who think that Baba is a mortal human being celebrate Mahaprayan on a particular day of the year related with Baba; but, in the true sense, Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary on page 742. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens.

Note 3: STORY- SITTING ON BABA'S LAP MEANS DIED?
(contributed by one margii)

Recently after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba.

He said, "After being punished by Baba, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his story, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries.

QUESTION BY A NEW MARGII

Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this.

The new sadhaka sensed that something was awry.

He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if all who have died have accumulated there. Many emails have been written this way.

MUST NOT ONLY REFER TO DEATH

At that moment I thought that everyone, new and old, should be clear about the real and devotional meaning of this phrase, "being on Baba's lap." It should not become stigmatized such that it only means death. Because in its true sense, the phrase "being on Baba's lap" really does carry a highly devotional and sweet feeling.

It is just like how a small child sits on its parent's lap. In a similar way, a spiritual child (human being) sits on the lap of Parama Purusa. By Baba's grace this can happen anytime in one's sadhana, especially in dhyana. Such a phrase then should not become  stigmatized because too many people only use it at the time of death.

We should be careful that we do not relegate "Baba's lap" only to the point of death. All these following terms and phrases also only refer to death:

ve bhagavan ko pya're ho gaye
(he has been loved by God)

ve svarga sidhar gaye
(he has gone to heaven )

ve guzar gaye
(he passed away)

mahaprayan hoyeche
(he died)

We should ensure that the same death connotation does not get attached to, "being on Baba's lap." Because the phrase - "being on Baba's lap" - is a devotional experience that can happen today itself in sadhana, and especially in dhyana. The phrase "being on Baba's lap" should not lose this quality and only mean death. It should not meet the same dark fate as happened with the term harijan.

MUST NOT MEET SAME FATE AS HARIJAN

As we all know, these days in India nobody uses the term harijan to mean "a devotee". Whereas 70 years ago it was used in that way. The term harijan did mean bhakta. But ever since the time of Gandhi when he glued the harijan term to the lowest so-called caste, i.e so-called untouchables, nobody uses the the harijan to mean devotee. Never. Because the term harijan has been stigmatized to mean "untouchable". Nobody uses it to mean "devotee", but that is the original and true meaning of the word.

The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its devotional quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

A VERY DEVOTIONAL EXPRESSION

There are thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply devotional value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and dhyana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply devotional experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana and especially during dhyana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a devotional practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in dhyana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

RECENT EXAMPLES

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in BÁBÁ'S loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. Of course, it is fine to write like that. Here the point is that this same phrase "in Baba's lap" should also be used when describing one's devotional practices and experiences. But these days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's devotional experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their devotional feeling. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

Mahaprayan (Death) of Shrii Mangal Bihari ji

~Baba~

MAHAPRAYAN (DEATH) OF SHRII MANGAL BIHARI JI

Namaskar,
It is with much sorrow that I share with you news of the mahaprayan* (death) of Shrii Mangal Bihariji which occurred at 0600hrs IST. At the time of his mahaprayan he was 90 years of age and had long served and dedicated in Ananda Marga.

All are aware of Shrii Mangal Bihariji’s history in Ananda Marga dating back to 1962 when he was initiated by Acarya Lalanji. And indeed in those early years Mangal Bijhariji was quite active.

In 1971, when clash first started, then Mangal Bihariji secured his own personal situation and kept Ananda Marga at bay. So even before Guru went to jail, then during those early jail years, throughout the entire era of martial law (i.e. Emergency), and even for a few years thereafter into the 1980's, Shrii M. Bihariji kept himself at arm's length from Ananda Marga. He did not even  contribute funds for Baba's court case. Indeed, it was only in 1982, when the situation was completely relaxed, that slowly M. Bihariji began to join back wherein he took a safe position. It was a gradual process.

Overall, he was a good man and I cannot fault him because Parama Purusa does not make everybody brave. There are some who cannot stand in the face of adversity and difficulty. So I cannot attach any blame to Shrii M. Bihariji.

When he did rejoin in 1982, he rekindled his old friendships and ultimately remained close with Tiljala right up to the very end. Shrii Mangal Bihariji was a strong believer in the myth that Baba died. Because of his comfort with the so-called mahaprayan programme he liked going to the holy tomb etc.

Shrii Mangal Bihariji is survived by his many relations of a very large extended family, many of whom are Ananda Margiis.

May we all take solace in the fact that Shrii Mangal Bihariji was a devotee of the Lord. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His grace.

With deepest regards,
Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Shankar Bhandari

Note: Shrii Mangal Bihari ji's cremation was done at noon time today. His Shraddha will be done on Tuesday in Jain Mandiir, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur. He wrote a book in Hindi named "Tumha'ra' Ka'ma ho gaya'."

Dada M & Khomeini + 2 More

Baba

This letter contains 3 distinct sections:
1. Posting: Dada Maheshvarananda & Khomeini
2. Comment: Pollution in AM
3. End Quote: Practitioner Of Diplomacy Is Destroyed By Diplomacy

DADA MAHESHVARANANDA & KHOMEINI

Note: If you are attached to a certain Wt and do not care about Ananda Marga ideology then please avoid reading this letter.

Namaskar,
Some naive people think that because Dada Maheshvaranandji is doing Prout pracara he is above scrutiny or genuine criticism. Those who think like this have no idea about Prout teachings. Otherwise, why are they themselves going against the fundamentals of Prout and Ananda Marga.

According to Prout philosophy, the leaders must be of superlative character. The common people may have many flaws but not the leaders. To the degree of one's post and power, the more scrutiny one receives. It is my request that those who do not understand should open their eyes and not unnecessarily protect Dada M's unethical behaviour.

Dada Maheshvarananda is not like Ayatollah Khomeini, and Prout is not like Islam where the leader is beyond any criticism.

DADA'S HYPOCRITICAL STANCE

On the one side Dada Maheshvarananda is moving in avadhuta uniform and on the other side he treats himself as a family man. He wants the privileges of both worlds: Family man and monk.

Recently, Maheshvarananda was stating he was visiting his laokik family – which is a sin for an avadhuta.

That is the type of person he is.

One the one side he preaches to others about the greatness of avadhuta life to glorify himself, and on the other side he spreads the message of how he visited and stayed with his laokik family.

Altogether it is shameful and embarrassing for someone moving in avadhuta dress to talk & live in this way.

AGAINST WT CONDUCT RULE

Here we must not forget Revered Baba's conduct rule for wholetimers.

"No relationship should exist with worldly family." (WT Conduct Rule, See Ref 1 below)

Yet, Dadaji writes boldly about visiting his laokik family, and then has the gall to sign the letter as Ac. Maheshvarananda Avt. This is his status. He has no shame about his own hypocrisy - only he is interested in his own personal glorification.

Guru clearly tells that there must not be contact with the worldly family, yet Dadaji is writing his memoirs of going to visit his worldly laokik family. As if this is approved behaviour for an avadhuta.

Only a confirmed hypocrite can do like this.

WT'S HAVE ONLY ONE FAMILY

As an avadhuta, Maheshvarananda has only one family - the big, cosmic, universal family. Dadaji's family is the entire world. But this simple fact this purodha does not understand - how unfortunate. Maheshvarananda lost his common sense.

JUST DEGRADED WAY OF LIVING

Muŕmuŕháye jat́á báŕáye mast phire jaesá bhaesá
Upar Khák lágáye man jyaesá ká taesá.

[Some people shave their heads, wear long beards, and move like big buffaloes; they smear their bodies with ashes, but internally their minds remain unchanged.]

Man ná ráunáiyá, ráunáile yogi kápŕá [“Instead of colouring your mind you simply dyed your cloth, O yogi!”]. These are useless pursuits." (2)

"Propelled by this urge for self-existence or desire for happiness, one who gives indulgence to káma, and runs after crude, subtle, or causal expressions (in other words, becomes a preya sádhaka) is a fool, because none of these crude, subtle or causal expressions can impart lasting peace or protection – for the simple reason that they are all fragmentary parts. For the sake of their self-existence if people give indulgence to preya, preya will eventually be unable to sustain them and their pyre of passion will reduce them to ashes." (3)

At His feet,
Kamalesh Johnson

RE: POLLUTION IN AM

Namaskar
This report is quite damning of the Ranchi Faction. These findings are beyond disturbing.

"They march PP Dada around like a demi-god. PP Dada does not participate in paincajanya, nor kiirtan, nor bhajans. These devotional practices PP Dada does not do – his handlers wish to promote him as a demi-god, for reasons best known to them. This has created a poly-theistic platform in Ananda Marga."

They have successfully transformed Dharma into Dogma and the PP is accepting. If PP has the interests of Margiis and Ananda Marga at heart he would step down immediately and if Ranchi bigwigs equally cared they would advise him to quit.
But knowing Ranchi central, they will do everything in their power to see to it that PP is shielded, because he represents their own selfish interests.

It may well be that B group has a similar modus operandi.

Only a thorough education in Ananda Marga philosophy and ideology can difuse this “ticking time-bomb”.

Margiis must be vigilant.

Amrit

Practitioner Of Diplomacy Is Destroyed By Diplomacy

Baba says, “The versatile Dronacarya was well known for his diplomacy in addition to his famed mastery of the art of weaponry and different scriptures. It is said that he concealed certain parts of this knowledge of weaponry and scriptures from his disciples but taught them to Arjuna. Supposedly he taught Arjuna diplomacy as well. The sages, saints and learned philosophers never considered diplomacy to be a good thing. It was their firm opinion that it led to the degradation of humanity and the decay of spirituality. In their opinion, just as a thief is caught by a thief, an exorcist is killed by a ghost, a snake charmer dies of snake-bite, similarly a practitioner of diplomacy is destroyed by diplomacy.”

“This is what happened in the case of Dronacarya. His son’s name was Ashvaththama, and Ashvaththama was also the name of an elephant killed in the Mahábhárata war. Dronacarya was informed of the death of Ashvaththama, the elephant, when Yudhisthira proclaimed ashvaththámá hatah [Ashvaththama is dead]. When he said iti gaja [the elephant] in a soft voice, the drums and tom-toms were loud enough that Dronacarya could not hear that portion. He thought that it was his son, Ashvaththama, who was dead. He became so upset on the battlefield that he was killed in the battle.” (Shabda Cayaniká Part 5, Disc: 28)

Note: The same thing happened with Ac Sarvatmananda Avt when he employed diplomacy to destroy so many innocent wts, margiis, and others. Ultimately he himself was destroyed. And there are so many examples of this. For instance, Ac Rudrananda Avt has long been using diplomacy tactics to harass so many innocent wts and margiis to serve his own ends, and now Dada Rudrananda himself is lying face down in the mud. After the episode in Ananda Nagar, Rudrananda is planning on abandoning the Ananda Nagar DMS grounds permanently. He tried hard to capture that site but he went down in defeat. Baba’s above teaching is very important. Those using diplomacy to destroy others invariably meet their own destruction.
