Distortion in AM book
Namaskar,
Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 11-12 (E) is unfortunately plagued by
numerous scriptural distortions. This letter points out some of
those grave errors. Although there are many, many inaccuracies, one
key distorted paragraph about the priest dogma is discussed below in
detail.
An audio file of Bábá's original spoken discourse has been uploaded
- kindly find the link appended below. This sound file demonstrates
that what is printed in the book is completely wrong. As disciples
of Bábá, we should be very strict in preserving the sanctity of His
printed discourses. This is our moral duty.
Here is one significant example of distortion from Ananda
Vacanamrtam - 12. In the 3rd to last paragraph of the discourse,
‘Everything Comes From Something’ (2 June 1979 evening, Lyon,
France), our Tiljala Publishers printed it entirely wrong. The
yellow highlighted section is the distorted version published by
Tiljala. And the green highlighted section is what Baba actually
spoke.

Tiljala wrongly printed
In Ananda Vacanamrtam part 12, our Tiljala Publishers (TP) falsely
printed a key section of Guru’s discourse.
Tiljala Publishers wrote: “And you should never think, ‘Oh, because
the priest didn’t issue me any ticket for heaven, I won’t be able to
go to heaven.’ No, no, no, don’t say that. The priest has no right
to issue you a ticket, and who is going to issue you a ticket to
hell? No, no, no, your good actions will bring you closer to Parama
Puruśa, and finally you will become one with Him by dint of your
sádhaná, by dint of your occult practice.”
The above is TP's flawed version. Now see here below what Sadguru
Baba really spoke.
Baba originally spoke: "And you should never think that, “Oh,
because the priest didn’t issue any ticket for heaven, that's why I
won’t be able to go to the heaven.” No, no, no, no, no don’t think
like that. The priest has got no right to issue a ticket of heaven,
and who is going to issue him with a ticket for hell? [laughter] No,
no, no, no, no your good actions will bring you closer to the Parama
Puruśa, and finally you will be one with Him by dint of your
sádhaná, by dint of your occult practice." (To listen or download

Note: When Bábá is saying “who is going to issue him with a ticket
for Hell?”, then those in the audience started laughing because
Bábá's discourse is quite humorous. So those who attended that day
enjoyed Bábá's talk, but because those words were omitted from the
printed discourse, readers are deprived of this gift.

Who is going to hell
The main significant error of this passage is that those publishers
distorted the section where Bábá is saying that the priest will "go
to hell." This is a serious point. Because Ananda Marga is against
all kinds of dogma, especially religious dogma as that stifles the
growth of the whole society. And Bábá is adamantly telling that not
only do those priests not have the power to send anyone to heaven,
but because of their shams and duplicity those exploitative priests
themselves will "go to hell."
Yet the publishers missed and distorted this point entirely when
printing the latest version of Ananda Vacanamrtam 11-12. Bábá makes
a revolutionary stand against priest dogma and our respected
publishers ruined that point.
The standard protocol among publishers in the world is that as soon
as they are aware their book contains stark errors, they will
withdraw the book, release an errata statement, fix the error, and
issue an updated edition. But it is unfortunate that our Tiljala
Publishers do not follow this standard. Even after learning that a
book has distortions and the general márgiis are aware, even then
those Tiljala Publishers continue selling the same distorted
version. Such an approach is quite a blot in the world of
publications.

Conclusion
We have been blessed to come onto the path of tantra sadhana and
have Taraka Brahma as the Guru; it is our responsibility to ensure
that we preserve the integrity of His teachings.
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Everyone’s work is to establish
it with collective support. You people know that when clothes are
woven white ants and mice try to eat them. So the cloth has to be
saved from the destructive activities of white ants and mice. So
whenever you make something, establish a protective fence to protect
it from the evil forces."
"In days of old, when womenfolk used to prepare dried mango
cakes, the young boys used to sit by the side to keep the crows away
with a stick in the hand. Similarly you should be careful and alert
always."
"From this very auspicious moment, you should take a vow to
progress individually and collectively and build a new society on
the planet Earth. We have come to build a new society, to construct
and to remain engaged in constructive works throughout our life.
This would be the greatest mission of our life." (1)

absolute proof that what is printed in the book is wrong.
Again, the above is what Bábá originally spoke in English as He was
in Europe at the time and this discourse was given 100% in English.
In Baba’s original discourse, He is pointing out the injustice of
the priests and making a joke about how those dogmatic priests
should be sent to hell.

Tiljala's Ananda Vacanamrtam Part-12: many distortions
Baba spoke:
“The priest has got no right to issue you a ticket of
heaven, and who is going to issue him with a ticket for hell?”
Here Bábá is guiding about how crooked priests have no right to
misguide and exploit the people based on the false notions of heaven
or hell. Rather, those priests themselves will live in their own
hell. But the Tiljala Publishers changed that very section to make
it sound like you the reader, not the priest, is being sent to hell.
Our Tiljala Publishers (TP) printed:
“The priest has no right to
issue you a ticket, and who is going to issue you a ticket to hell?”
TP completely missed the issue of Bábá mocking and attacking that
priestly dogma. Their latest edition (2008) of Ananda Vacanamrtam
part 12 strays far from Bábá's teaching. In His revolutionary way,
Bábá is boldly pointing out the dogma of the priest class and
bashing and mocking their so-called authority, yet TP changed that
section entirely. Our Publisher’s version wrongly tells the reader
to go to hell - not the dogmatic priests.

Why this letter?
The issue is that our Ananda Marga books - Bábá's teachings - must
be proper. That is what Bábá wants and that is what this letter is
about. Who can forget those days in Patna when Bábá was lovingly yet
harshly scolding and rebuking various wt’s for not recording and
printing His discourses. In His divine liila, Bábá feigned to be
furious and set the tone that His discourses must be recorded and
printed in a timely and proper way.
So this whole topic is an issue of non-compromising strictness and
faith regarding the sanctity of Iśťa and Ádarsha, and the
authenticity of Guru’s printed discourses.
Without a proper scripture any movement will turn into dogma. We
must ensure that Bábá's discourses are 100% accurate. His each and
every word should be printed “as is.” That is the only way to
safeguard Guru’s scripture. Without that, our Ananda Marga will just
sink into dogma.

"A'loker utsava eso sabe..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2218)
Purport:
I am inviting all for this grand occasion of light festival. O' my
brothers and sisters of the universal humanity, come one, come all
to this auspicious celebration of illumination. By His grace, we
will be awakening all with His divine knowledge. On this joyous
ceremony of effulgence, let us all work collectively. By His krpa,
we will bring heaven on this dusty earth.
No one is distant: All belong to one unified family; all are my own.
In the absence of this eternal veracity - unaware of this
ideological understanding - even close relations go distant and far
away, and try to destroy each other. Let human beings know who they
are; they should know they have come from the Supreme Entity. They
are the special children of God. All are kith and kin. On this grand
festival, by His blessing I am preparing and arranging everything so
that everyone will know their origin that they are the progeny of
that singular, all-pervading Cosmic Entity.
My Parama Purusa, thinking of You, I will not lag behind - not even
for one second - and will never look back. I will keep my eyes fixed
on the Supreme Goal, and not allow even a single individual to fall
back or be forgotten. This is my sadhana. My duty is to move
everyone in unison, i.e. the entire humanity. This spiritual
refulgence will destroy all accumulated dirt and stains of dogma. We
will enlighten the whole cosmos, by Your mercy.
Baba, with Your causeless blessing, the impossible becomes possible.
You are my Goal; You are my everything...

Mental vrttis and changing shape of human beings
Ananda Marga Ideology guides us, "I have also said that in the future the number of vrttis may further increase. The more complicated social life, family life, the realm of thought and the realm of intellect become, the more vrttis will develop. For example, the vrtti, cunningness, may be expressed in many more ways. To fulfil their desires, people will develop different types of cunningness which may become different vrttis in future. For example, the cunningness required to procure an object by devious means, the cunningness needed to give a promise knowing full well that one will never keep it, and the cunningness required to trick someone into believing that one did not tell a lie when in fact one did tell a lie, may all become separate vrttis in future.” (1)
Ananda Marga Ideology guides us, "Thus, in the future, as people’s thought processes become more complicated, many new vrttis will develop. The number of vrttis may not stay at fifty. Just imagine the situation that will arise in the future as a result of humanity’s ever increasing thirst for knowledge. To meet these developments the nerve cells and nerve fibres will have to become more complex. Consequently, the human cranium will become larger and the size of the head will increase. The hands and feet will become weaker and weaker and human beings may even lose the ability to walk. Today, the human toes have almost stopped functioning – in spiritual actions we have almost no use for them – whereas at one time, when we used to walk on four legs, we used our toes as much as our fingers. The front legs were used less and less, and were transformed into arms, and thus these days it has become almost impossible for us to crawl on all fours.” (1)
“There was a time when humans would run on four legs, but today they cannot do that. After a time, children feel uncomfortable crawling around on all fours and try to walk on their hind legs. In the initial stages, when they try to stand up, they soon fall down. Again they stand up, again they fall down. When they finally develop the habit of standing on two legs, there are corresponding changes in the physical structure so that the use of their arms becomes less. In the future, the legs will be used less and less and the capacity to move on them will decrease. The arms will become thin, and the head will become abnormally large.” (1)

Difference between qualified & unqualified spiritual teachers
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Whenever there is a decline in spiritual culture in the world the cause is a lack of spiritual aspirants and qualified preceptors. In this modern world developed and effective spiritual science is freely available, but there is certainly a lack of inquisitive spiritual seekers and qualified teachers. Qualified spiritual teachers are those with a developed integral outlook and a capacity to impart it to their students. Unfortunately so many so-called spiritual teachers are inculcating defective and narrow ideas in the name of spirituality to serve their own self-interests." (1)
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Others cite mythological stories to explain that certain gods bestow their powers on the faithful disciples, but other gods mercilessly punish the detractors. They jump at every opportunity to take advantage of the sentimental weaknesses of their credulous disciples, and in the name of spiritual training create obstacles on the path of spiritual progress by relating all kinds of cock and bull stories...These “religious merchants” with their non-integral outlook, want to divide humanity into different groups (Indians, Germans, Russians, etc.) ."
