Delhi Prout: false thing + 2 more

Baba

Delhi Prout: false thing

Namaskar,

As Ananda Margiis, we should fully understand AM teachings. Then we will be more effective and convincing in our pracara efforts; and, we will also be better able to analyse other philosophies and religions etc. Naturally, those who are editors of any of our official AM magazines should be especially keen in this arena. Indeed, as editors, this is their fundamental duty.

Eyebrow-raising claim by editors

Unfortunately, the editors of the Delhi Prout magazine have made a very dubious claim in their latest issue.

The editors wrote, "China had God centred ideology like India and the two countries lived in peace over millennia." (Editorial)

Now let’s compare their above claim with Sadguru Baba’s teachings.

Religions are dogma-centred, not God-centred

Here below Baba guides us that the prevailing religions are not God-centred.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “They [religions] are not God-centred. They make some dogmatic propositions about God.” (1)

Here the point is that neither China nor India had a God-centered philosophy, rather they followed religious outlooks that were dogma-centred. They did not want to get God, so they were not God-centred. They essentially followed dogmatic rituals such as idol worship etc in order to ask something from God. They did not want God Himself, so we cannot say they were God-centred. Rather, those worshipers wanted wealth, social status, prestige, and other worldly boons. And their primary method of attaining those earthly treasures was to ask God to bestow such worldly gifts upon them. So it is obvious they did not want to attain God, so no one can lay claim that they were God-centred.

Such is the age-old approach of those religious followers. They did not want to attain God, but rather used dogmatic rituals to place selfish requests before God. Verily, for the past millenia both China and India adhered to dogma-centred ideologies, not God-centred. Here the chief idea is that they did not want to get God, so it is quite evident they were not God-centred.

God-centred means desiring Him

Had those various religions or philosophies been God-centered then those preachers and followers would have wanted God. But that was not the case. They were not interested in attaining God, rather they followed the dogma of asking something from God. The formula is that since they did not want to get God, it stands that they were not God-centred.

In a God-centred ideology, the sole aim is to please God and attain Him. There is no other agenda.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “The person who realizes the greatness of the Macrocosm by virtue of intuitional knowledge says, “My only desire is to merge myself in Him, to attain salvation.” To seek Him is not to seek for any mundane object of pleasure.” (2)

In Ananda Marga sadhana, the aim is to serve and attain Him, and not seek anything in return. It is 100% God-centred.

Verily, Ananda Marga philosophy stands as the first God-centered philosophy on this earth. Prior to AM ideology, there was no theological approach in this world that was God-centered in its endeavour.

Conclusion

As disciples of Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji we must always strive to increase our standard. That means studying and embodying His divine teachings. Sadly, our Prout editors are far off the mark. They are not properly aware of AM teachings, and that is why they are unable to do their job properly. That is why time and time again there are fundamental errors in those Prout magazines whenever those editors put pen to paper.

Who did this

The ones responsible for this blunder are Ac Santos’a’nanda (Editor), Ac Acyutananda (Editorial Board Member) etc.

AM ideology is completely new

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Ananda Marga is radically different from all concepts of philosophy, economics or social thinking. It is not a change which has evolved as a result of the evolution of the human mind and its economic and social environments; it is a revolutionary concept of life altogether different from any of the present or past ideas. It is a change which is independent of the cyclic changes resulting from the passage of time. It does not preach or practise anything which is not new in both approach and practice.” (3)

Ananda Marga is the first God-centered ideology on this earth. Neither in China nor in India was there a God-centred philosophy before Ananda Marga. What Sadguru Baba has given is completely new.

Age-old way to memorize

Namaskar,

Baba's below teaching discloses the reason why our scripture has been composed in the genre of poetry: Because poetry is easy to memorise. For this reason, Baba has composed our scripture - i.e. Ananda Sutram and Prabhat Samgiita - in poetic verse.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "In the absence of rhythm it is difficult to memorize. That is why since ancient times, for 15,000 years, the common practice has been to bring every valuable branch of knowledge within the scope of rhythm. Human beings do not easily forget rhythm. One may forget the contents of knowledge, but not the rhythm. That is why all Vedic Rks were composed in 7 meters. All literary compositions were brought within the gamut of the seven Vedic metres...as they are valuable for the memory." (1)

Set it to rhythm

If you want to learn or memorize anything, the easiest way is to set it to rhythm. One paragraph of prose is very difficult to memorise, but 1 stanza of a poem, shloka, or song is comparatively easy to memorise. Rhythm helps in memorising anything. That is why in their infancy, children are introduced to language via rhythm in nursery rhymes and songs etc. By this way they can quickly learn and advance.

In the distant past, before the invention of any script and before paper came into vogue, people used to keep everything in their mind. There were no books or other media as we see nowadays: Audio, video, writings, etc. There was nothing.

What yogis did in the past

So when there was no way to store ideas or teachings on paper or cassette, the only option was to store it all in their memory. The best technique for doing that was to create rhythmic poetry. So all those past yogis, rishis, sages, thinkers, and munis put their realizations into shloka, poem, or any kind of rhythmic expression like the vedas, purana etc. Even when script was first invented, most people did not know how to read or write, so those thinkers continued to put their teachings into poetic verse. This happened all across the globe.

This is not only for those of the past. Today also if you want to memorise anything then put it in rhythmic form. Cunning advertisers create jingles or rhymes to influence consumers, and film-makers do the same.

So to keep something readily in the mind then take help from a rhythmic flow, otherwise it will be very difficult to store that in your memory. For this reason Baba has given the key of Ananda Marga teachings - i.e. Ananda Sutram - in poetic form, and Prabhat Samgiita as well. And in virtually every discourse He has included a shloka. By that way - by memorizing one rhythmic shloka - one can get the seed idea of the entire discourse. That is how to memorize that entire discourse in key form.

In His series of discourses on the Faculty of Knowledge, Baba has given so many points about memory and rhythm.

In Him,
Viniit
