Mahaprayan of One Senior Dada

Baba

MAHAPRAYAN OF ONE SENIOR DADA

Dear brothers and sisters,

Namaskar.
It is with much sorrow that I share with you news of the mahaprayan (death) respected senior Dada - Acarya Sugatananda Avadhuta. Dadaji’s mahaprayan occurred on Tuesday, 11 Nov - he suffered from cardiac arrest after complications from a recent surgery to remove a tumor in the abdomen. Already Dadaji was in the hospital recuperating from the surgery when the crisis struck. The medical team made their best efforts, but alas at this age of 66, respected Dada Sugatanandji passed - i.e. mahaprayan.

Many are aware of Dadaji’s longstanding service in our Ananda Marga. Dadaji was initiated in 1964 and became a WT the following year, 1965. Over the last five decades, Dadaji has lived and worked all over the globe propagating the teachings of Guru Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. Acaryaji also held many office positions including his most recent work in Publications and the printing of Ananda Marga books. For these many years Dadaji was hard-working and humble in his endeavour and had an ardent desire to serve Guru and the suffering humanity.

May we all take solace in the fact that respected Acarya Sugatananda Avt was a devotee of Sadguru Baba. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His grace.

With deepest regards,
Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Lalita

Note 1: MAHAPRAYAN (DEATH DAY) IS ONLY FOR HUMANS

PARAMA PURUSA IS ETERNAL

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa Himself. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa.

Note 2: MAHAPRAYAN COMES FROM THE ISLAMIC TRADITION

* Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in Bengal to describe the death of an honoured or even ordinary person. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily devotional term to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no devotees ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

Here it should be known that the convention of an annual death day ceremony (i.e. shraddhainjali or mahaprayan) is a foundation of the Islamic tradition. Muslims are well known for this, and their approach of an annual death day ceremony was adopted by those in Tiljala. So no one should think that mahaprayan is some type of sacred event. It is done on the death day anniversary of Muslims.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary on page 742. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens.

Note 3: STORY- SITTING ON BABA'S LAP MEANS DIED?
(contributed by one margii)

Recently after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba.

He said, "After being punished by Baba, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his story, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries.

"HOW DID BABA BRING YOU BACK TO LIFE?"

Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this.

The new sadhaka sensed that something was awry.

He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if in order to sit on Baba’s lap one has to die. But that is false. Sincere sadhakas regularly sit on Baba’s lap in their meditation. It is His grace. It is just like a child need not die in order to sit on hi father’s lap.

SITTING ON BABA'S LAP

MUST NOT ONLY REFER TO DEATH

At that moment I thought that everyone, new and old, should be clear about the real and devotional meaning of this phrase, "being on Baba's lap." It should not become stigmatized such that it only means death. Because in its true sense, the phrase "being on Baba's lap" really does carry a highly devotional and sweet feeling.

It is just like how a small child sits on its parent's lap. In a similar way, a spiritual child (human being) sits on the lap of Parama Purusa. By Baba's grace this can happen anytime in one's sadhana, especially in dhyana. Such a phrase then should not become  stigmatized because too many people only use it at the time of death.

We should be careful that we do not relegate "Baba's lap" only to the point of death.

The connotation of death must not become synonymous with "being on Baba's lap." Because the phrase - "being on Baba's lap" - is a devotional experience that can happen today itself in sadhana, and especially in dhyana. The phrase "being on Baba's lap" should not lose this quality and only mean death. It should not meet the same dark fate as happened with the term harijan.

"SITTING ON BABA'S LAP" MUST NOT MEET SAME FATE AS "HARIJAN"

As we all know, these days in India nobody uses the term harijan to mean "a devotee". Whereas 70 years ago it was used in that way. The term harijan did mean bhakta. But ever since the time of Gandhi when he glued the harijan term to the lowest so-called caste, i.e so-called untouchables, nobody uses the the harijan to mean devotee. Never. Because the term harijan has been stigmatized to mean "untouchable". Nobody uses it to mean "devotee", but that is the original and true meaning of the word.

The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its devotional quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

BABA WOULD BLESS DEVOTEES AND PLACE THEM ON HIS LAP

There are thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply devotional value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and dhyana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply devotional experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana and especially during dhyana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a devotional practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in dhyana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

DOGMA:

NOW "ON BABA'S LAP" ONLY USED FOR DEATH

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in BÁBÁ'S loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. Of course, it is fine to write like that. Here the point is that this same phrase "in Baba's lap" should also be used when describing one's devotional practices and experiences. But these days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's devotional experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their devotional feeling. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

Why Do They Do Like This

WHY DO THEY DO LIKE THIS

Note: This letter is not for those who do not have reverence for Guru, Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

Namaskar,
This ongoing, recurring scene undermines the most foundational point of tantra - the status of Guru.

As every disciple knows, in our Ananda Marga only Brahma is the Guru.

3-9. Brahmaeva gururekah náparah.
[Only Brahma is the guru, no one else.]

Purport: Brahma alone is the guru. Brahma alone directs the units to the path of emancipation through the media of different receptacles or bodies. No one except Brahma conforms to the real significance of the word “guru”. (1)

And here again we can understand that Brahma has come in the name and form of Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

"The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings – That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone has revealed Brahmavidyá (intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Anandamúrtijii. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty." (2)

So Baba is the Guru and we are all His disciples, including PP dada. Thus all must have reverence for Guru.

SEE PHOTO:

PP DADA IS SITTING DIRECTLY IN FRONT - BLOCKING GURU

Yet at the recent Tatanagar DMS 2014, one grave sin was done - here is what occurred: Purodha Pramukha, i.e. Dada Vishvadevananda, appeared on stage at the DMS sitting on an elevated seat that was directly in front of Guru's place. PP Dada was veritably blocking the photo of Rev Baba. There is no question that PP’s place is far more prominent than that of Sadguru Baba. It is quite a shameful scene. The image is here for your for your review.

(Courtesy of Ranchi AMPS)

By placing PP Dada's seat directly in front of Sadguru Baba's place they are not just violating a social code but committing sin. To cast PP Dada or any human being on a pedestal and given a more prominent place than Guru is mahapapa - terrible sin.

THEY ARE DELIBERATE SINNERS

These people are deliberate sinners. They created an offensive scene. They are sitting shamelessly like monkeys in front of Guru’s photo - blocking it from view. Their presence is completely annoying and distracting. It is just like if you are looking at Guru and then some pig wanders and sits down in between you and Guru and blocks your view. That seem feeling has been generated when these Dadas placed themselves in front like a veritable wall, and margiis could not see Baba’s photo. Any margii strict in Ista will feel disgusted by this display. It would have been better if Baba’s photo was not placed on the stage. But to boost PP dada’s image those DMS organisers did like this. They just wanted to be in front and gain stature. But in real sense, the opposite happened. They ruined their prestige as no bhakta can tolerate what these Dadas have done

Indeed this is what occurred at the 2014 Tatanagar DMS: PP Dada's seat was directly in front Baba's place - thereby blocking the view so margiis / attendees could not see Sadguru Baba.

Those involved are sinners and hypocrites. They pose as being great sadhakas wholly devoted to Guru, yet their actions and dealing tell otherwise. Raising the status of PP dada above that of Guru reveals their mindset and true colours. No true devotee could ever do like this.

So first such central dadas are committing sin and then they are publicly promoting their wrong and sending this photo out on their mailing list.

IDEAL WAY OF DISPLAYING BABA'S PHOTO

Here is a very good way to display Baba's photo.

Revered Baba's photo must be 5 feet above the seat of PP Dada so that all have a clear view towards Guru. Baba's photo must not be below the seat of PP Dada as happened at the DMS 2014 at Tatanagar.

The central idea is that at our Ananda Marga gatherings Saguru Baba's photo must be, at  minimum, 5 feet above, the seat of PP Dada.

So while this will serve as as guideline for DMS this is also an ideal and optimal way to set up every jagrti and kiirtan hall etc.

SOLUTION:

PRESERVING SANCTITY OF GURU'S PHOTO

As we know, in our dharmacakra halls and jagrtis etc, Guru's photo must be prominently displayed at all times - with due reverence and regard. Best then is to have two photos on display - one lower (around 4 feet off ground), and one higher (around 7 feet off the ground.)

If everyone is sitting in sadhana or Guru Puja then both photos should be displayed. Because everyone is low to the ground and no one will block or disrespect Guru's image.

And if someone is standing or giving a talk, or if akhanda kiirtan is being done, then the lower photo, which is only four feet off the ground, should either be turned around or covered by a small curtain. That way those standing will not block or hover over Guru's photo. At the same time, the higher photo - which is around 7 feet above the ground - will be in full view of all. Those standing will have no chance of blocking that photo. Thus the sanctity of Guru's photo will be maintained and the devotional environment preserved.

THEY ARE COMMITTING SIN - AGAIN & AGAIN

Bear in mind this is not an isolated incident but a repeated problem. So their sinful dealing is playing out again and again. Yet it is a blatant violation of the points of Ista. They will have to face the consequences - there is no escape for recurring sinners who repeated the wrongdoing and fail to make amends.

BEST SEAT IS ALWAYS RESERVED FOR THE MOST RESPECTED

So these Dadas have contravened a basic, fundamental rule that even ordinary citizens follow. At any gathering, the best seat is always reserved for the most respected person. At conventions, the president gets the best seat; at forums, the invited speaker gets the best seat; at weddings, a special place is reserved for the bride and groom.

REVERENCE FOR GURU

"Trtiiyaḿ gurupújanam. I must have reverence for the guru. What is the guru? Gu means “darkness”, that is, darkness in the psycho-spiritual sphere. And ru means “dispelling agent”. That is, he who dispels darkness from my psychic and spiritual body is the guru. Gu means “darkness”, ru means “dispeller”. “Trtiiyaḿ gurupújanam. That is, you must have respect for the guru." (3)

Thus every sadhaka must cultivate great reverence for Guru, by His grace. That is the requisite quality of every disciple.

In Him,
Liila Shankar Yadav

Note: FAMILY ACARYA ALSO INVOLVED

It is disgraceful that Family Ac Chandradeoji allowed all this to happen. He was president of the committee and under his nose Guru was insulted. Acaryaji cannot escape from his responsibility. He is such a senior acarya and he did nothing to stop the situation. Rather he bears direct blame given his role and stature.

BABA STORY:

DIVINE FEELING LINGERED ON FOR HOURS

Namaskar,
The people who consider Taraka Brahma as an ordinary human being have not realised Him. They fail to  understand that He is always present and expresses Himself. Let me quote an incident.

DECIDED TO DO AWAY WITH TRADITIONAL POOJA

Smt Ranjiita and Shri Rajesh are relatively new Margiis , trying to follow Marga system of life. They run a small retail store of electronic items in Sirsi ( Karnataka). There is a tradition in this area to worship goddess Laksmi on Kartik Amavasya (previous day of Deepavali) during evening hours by shop keepers.. The couple has been performing Lakshmi pooja in their shop for years. This year they decided to do away with traditional pooja and the priest. They were worried about the comments they had to face from neighbourers, relatives consequences of leaving the tradition etc.

IT WAS NONE OTHER THAN BABA

Finally they decided to to meditation in the  shop and sat in a corner of the small shop (10 ft x 12 ft) along with their young son after doing Kiirtan on 23-10-2014 evening. After a while Smt Ranjita felt that a short person wearing kurta entered the shop and stood near the cash counter He looked surprised that nobody was around and turned to left and bent a little to see these people sitting there. He smiled at them and walked away. At that time Smt Ranjiita felt that it was none other than Baba, and experienced a strong current passing through her body.

SHE CAME TO HER SENSES

After some time when she came to senses, all her worries, anxiety, guilty consciousness etc of not performing traditional pooja were gone and the feeling lingered on for hours. She shared this experience with family members and later in DC with local maargiis. This couple has not seen Baba in physical form.

Ganesh Bhat

Nothing Could Be More Foolish Than...

Only Fools Say, "I don’t want to concern myself with anyone else’s affairs"

"You will hear many a vain and assuming person say, “I don’t need anyone’s help, I’m doing very well by myself. I don’t want to concern myself with anyone else’s affairs and I don’t expect anyone else to bother about mine.” Nothing could be more foolish than this statement. Medicine and nursing are necessary to cure diseases; the neighbours’ help is needed to cremate a dead body; and for the regular supply of food and cloth the cooperation of farmers and spinners is essential. Remember, no created being in this universe is independent. No one can exist alone, everyone has a supra-cosmic relationship with the whole, at times prominent, at times indistinguishable. In this scheme of mutual relationships, even the slightest mistake or discord will raise a furious furore in the universe. In this mighty creation, the brilliantly luminous sun and the tiny ant have the same existential value, having combined together to make the universal family. Similarly, in human society, the importance of a powerful and eminent person is no less than that of a disabled and dying patient. None can be ignored. The least injustice done to anyone will cause the break down of the entire social framework." (A Few Problems Solved Part 6, The Spirit of Society)

~ I Was In A Dreamland Where There Is No Dogma ~

"Ek Svapner deshe a'mi ma'ya'bhara' jochana'y..." (PS 1455)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, I was in a dreamland - engulfed in the enchanting moonlight. All alone, in seclusion, I blissfully sang songs for You. I was singing Your songs for You. O' Divine Entity, You are so gracious.

There, in that place, no one goes hungry, and no one dies of starvation. Nor is there any scope for ignorance. There is no flow for the wave of dogma and staticity. In that land, humans look upon one another as part of the same universal family; they do not make violent assaults and fight - they do not kill each other or allow the river of blood to flow.

O' dear Lord, in that place, the human intellect is not obscured by dogma. Logic and rationality are embraced. And the realm of intuition is cultivated. No one suffers under the darkness of ego and vanity, and no one exploits anyone else. This is the land of neo-humanism. I was in a dreamland, amidst enchanting moonlight.

O' my Lord, O' Baba, I was in Divine dreamland, and I sang Your songs for You...

Open Reply to Vishvadeva + More

Baba

This email contains three sections:

OPEN REPLY TO VISHVADEVA

Namaskar All,

Vishvadeva’s letter is  focused on following two suggestions :-

1. The other religions and their followers in the world celebrate MPD so we should not oppose it.

2.  Ending MPD only is not the solution of uniting organization or solving other burning problems inside it
Regarding point (1), it is quite natural that the common people follow in the footsteps of their seniors, but following blindly is not advisable. The followers should apply their mind to the act they are intending to follow.

Ananda Marga philosophy has never supported those thoughts which are dogmatic or may become dogma in the future. Rev. Baba has proven how Lord Shiva, Lord Krsna, Buddha, and Mahavira's teachings were deformed and distorted by the so-called jinanis and followers, and they deviated the society form the right path. Rev. Baba's entire endeavour has been to eradicate all sorts of dogma and ill thoughts from the society and not to give birth to any such irrational, illogical ,unscientific thought. Appending MPD in CC and then changing it in various other names itself proves that it is the first step to give birth to strong base to establish dogma, which is against our fundamental principle.

I mean to say is, that ours is the defectless path and ideology established by Taraka Brahma Himself which means others should follow us not we to others (who are limited by their own dogmatic views). What the other religious groups of the world are doing is not our object. We are to be strict to follow our own spiritual ideology because we are not a religious group like others. As a true follower of Rev. Baba all should oppose such acts and thoughts which pollute the society for generations together.

Regarding point (2), it is a general rule of nature that the solution of any problem lies within the problem itself and the place where it is created. It is more difficult to cut and eradicate a huge banyan tree than to remove it in an earlier growing stage. MPD in AM , if not eradicated at this stage, will generate many other irrational ideas leading to rituals like Hindu priests. Ending MPD may not solve all the problems inside Ananda Marga or unite all the groups, but it will certainly save the Ananda Marga society from degeneration
To raise sound  against dogma and its parallel thoughts, is our birthright.

CAN’T BE PIG

Warning: This below letter is very sensitive and devotional  It raises a very subtle point. Those who do not have faith in Ista should not read this letter. They may not understand -  and may get frustrated. So please watch out. If you are not strict in Ista, please do not read.

Namaskar,
I read the letter how brother Vishvadeva equates Parama Purusa Baba with human beings. Brother Vishvadeva remarks that since others paths observe an annual death day for their guru or leader, like Ramana Maharishi and Jesus, then that same death day observance should be done for Sadguru Baba. That is the logic and comparison made by brother V.

Perhaps we should apply the same type of logic to Vishvadeva.

For instance, a pig has a nose and two eyes and brother Vishvadeva has a nose and two eyes. So by this logic should we just treat brother V as a pig. We can just call him pig. What will be wrong by this. After all, both brother V and a pig share those very same characteristics - one nose and two eyes. So V must fall within the pig category.

By that way Vishvadeva will learn something.

Naming in Saḿskrta Means

“Naming is a matter of great consequence. The names must imply an imposing meaning. Naming was a memorable ceremony among the Áryas. The name has a very significant bearing over the mind. SEE WHAT IS PRINTED ABOUT TILJALA MAHAPRAYAN IN BANGLA NEWSPAPERS

Namaskar,
Here below is cutting of a daily Bangla newspaper  - Bartaman.  The main point of the article is that this is the 24th annual death day observance of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

For those who do not know what mahaprayan is in India, please see below.

Mahaprayan is done by Muslims to observe the death of those mainly of the Islamic faith. Those followers bury their deceased and then perform yeay tomb worship on the anniversary of their death.  So the concept of "mahaprayan" is something very mundane; it signifies the death of a human being; it is a common phenomenon across the Indian subcontinent. It is widely observed for the death of a human. So it is not something divine. It is not something for the eternal Sadguru. And it is not a new phenomenon that started in 1990. For ages and ages, so many humans have had their mahaprayan. Since the Sanskrit language came into existence - thousands of years ago - the concept of mahaprayan conveys the idea of the death of a human being.

MAHAPRAYAN OF MUSLIM FOLLOWER:

MAULANA ABDUL LATIF CHAUDHURY
Here below is a public announcement in the newspaper about the mahaprayan of a Muslim man named Maulana Abdul Latif Chaudhury. This is a common phenomenon in my Bengal. The term mahaprayan is everywhere; it is widely used for all kinds of people to signify their death. It is not something special or unique. This below person was not an Ananda Margii.

The last word of the title of the below newspaper article is the term 'mahaprayan' in Bengali script:

In this article - as well as in its regular usage - the term mahaprayan is used to insinuate the death of a man who has made his departure from this world to God. That is why this word is not used for Baba because He did not depart - He is the eternal Parama Purusa. So the mahaprayan term is for ordinary humans, i.e. mortals.

Some think that we should live happily and not care about all these things. That is the wrong approach and defeats the purpose of creating the organisation. All kinds of societal dogmas were in vogue and Baba created Ananda Marga to eradicate those dogmas. Naturally then we must not allow such dogmas in our very own organisation, AMPS. If we ignore those dogmas it defeats the purpose of the formation of Ananda Marga.

 SANMATI SAGARJI'S MAHAPRAYAN

See below this mahaprayan ritual that it typical of India. There is a pile of wood and placed the deceased there; and there are people all around - well wishers and loved ones and they are pouring milk on the deceased before final cremation. They do this to purify the body. And soon they will burn the body. This mahaprayan ritual is done just before lighting the body. Note: See how the mahaprayan term (highlighted in blue) was used in the top-center of the below image.

A Few Important Points

“Casteism is a burden on the Hindu society. All the year round they preach casteism but on the polling days they decry it. This is wholly undesirable. It is better to avoid all titles. Titles signify the caste. If casteism is to be wiped out, it is incumbent to discard the titles. It is commendable if everyone adopts uniformity on title – Deva. Persons using a particular word more often will influence their minds with the meaning of that word. People are reluctant to use the word dása because this word signifies slavery. Whenever the so-called low caste people catch an opportunity, they declare themselves as belonging to the so-called elevated caste, etc. It is an ideal to become deva and for this reason Deva title should be adopted.”

“Titles of the present society have undergone considerable changes during the past fifty years, the cause being that everyone aspires to pertain to an elevated caste. The so-called Shúdras also use the sacred thread. This is only an effort towards the concealment of one's identity. By this means, they conceal only their disregarded status. This is to be regretted. It is consequent on social debility that they harbour the desire for changes in their situations. It is out and out purposeless to convene All-India Conferences or particular castes. All of them desire to assert and establish their rights. This is simply misuses of energy and money.”

“The consent of those embraced must be sought for before renaming them in Saḿskrta. Language has got nothing to do with religion and as such, there is no reason for anybody depreciating the use of Saḿskrta. In this connection it may be added that the great emperor Aurangzeb used the term sudhárasa (juice of nectar) for mango (original Saḿskrta term for mango is ámra) and saddharma for Islam.” (Táttvika Diipiká)
