Serpentine noose + 2 more

Baba
Serpentine noose

Namaskar,

See how the Tiljala Publications published the below line (red font) in the Electronic edition of Baba’s books.

Tiljala Publications wrote, “You know “serpentine noose”, a noose which catches a snake like this? It is called a “serpentine noose”. (1) (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 12, The Real Value of the Human Entity)

Note: The entire published paragraph containing the above line has been referenced below in “For extra reading - 1.”

So in the above section in red, our Tiljala Publishers have written the point completely backwards. The entire red section is wrong. And the worst part is that this was all done in Guru’s name.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Direct, as-is transcription from audio

Now see below the as-is transcription directly from Baba's audio. This is what Baba spoke verbatim and this is what should have been published.

Baba says, "You know serpentine-noose, noose of snake? Snake catch like this, it is called serpentine-noose." (As is transcription of 3 June 1979 evening, Lyon, Ananda Vacanamrtam - 12, The Real Value of the Human Entity)
All know that the serpentine noose is the deadly grip whereby a snake kills its prey. But that is not the way Tiljala Publications printed it. They wrote something completely different which makes no sense.

New readers, the general public, and so many will see the error by Tiljala Publications and think the passage is completely bogus. Not only that, they will direct the blame towards Sadguru Baba, since it is His name that is on the cover of the book. Yet all along, the problem was created by our Tiljala Publishers who wrote the passage in a sloppy, flip-flop, nonsensical manner.

So it is unfortunate and concerning. Our Tiljala Publishers do not seem to be up to the task that they are supposed to do. Their main job is to properly transcribe what Baba spoke and publish that in an “as-is” manner. Yet time and again, rampant and gross errors are found in their published works. There is seemingly no end to the negligence of our Tiljala Publications Dept.

And those errors will naturally mislead readers. About this Guru has given the following warning.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “If one is not able to give the people proper guidance, then at least one should not misguide them.” (2)

The poor condition of this printed discourse - and countless others like it - speaks volumes to Dada A’s interest in Baba’s teachings. It is so painful - and a veritable mockery.

Let us not forget that Dada A was falsely propagating that Baba did not say anything about abortion issue. This shows how Dada A has absolutely no idea about what types of discourses actually exist. For more about that kindly referent the letter via the links section below.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Shephali Guha

In the above letter Dada A is Ac. Acyutananda Avt of the Publications Dept. (Tiljala)

For extra reading:

Here is how they published the full paragraph

Again, pay particular attention to the line in red as it make no sense. Tiljala publishers write that snake is caught by a noose. But that is bogus and wrong. Rather a snake uses it famed technique of a serpentine noose to catch its prey. So what Tiljala publishers wrote below is entirely misleading and backwards.

Tiljala Publications wrote: “Parama Puruśa, Parama Pitá, says that even if you are the worst type of sinner, that is, he whom the sinners hate as a sinner, what will happen? Bhajate mám ananyabhák. If you take the shelter of Parama Puruśa, then what will happen? Parama Puruśa will save you from all those serpentine nooses of sin. You know “serpentine noose”, a noose which catches a snake like this? It is called a “serpentine noose”. And for those who take shelter, those who resort to Parama Puruśa, what will happen? Parama Puruśa will save them from this serpentine noose of sin. So a person must not be afraid of sin, he should be free from all worries and anxieties regarding sin. Parama Puruśa will help him. Parama Puruśa is always with him.” (3)

This is the situation of H group. With eyes closed, they are printing all the books of B group. When they will wake up, no one knows. But one thing is true: These people are taking upon themselves full responsibility for the mistakes of the B group Publishers by putting their own name on the same publications. In a way they are involving themselves in the same sin. Otherwise, why haven’t they or why don’t they transcribe the discourse from the original discourse and print it anew on their own?

Having claimed credit as the publisher, they are now getting caught red-handed as the creators of distortion-filled discourses.

What is serpentine noose

A serpent (snake) coils itself and makes a noose to capture its prey and feed itself. That noose - i.e. tightly wrapping and squeeezing itself around its prey to suffocate that animal - is called a serpentine noose. The operative factor is that the snake or serpent uses its noose - i.e. the serpentine noose - to catch and kill other animals.

Here below is an example of the serpentine noose whereby a snake strangles and squeezes this deer. By exerting tremendous pressure the snake kills its prey with this serpentine noose.

Now see the below of this deadly serpentine noose, as the snake has wrapped and coiled itself around this deer to kill it.

The serpent is a snake and it forms itself into a noose to catch its prey. So serpentine noose means a snake’s deadly grip. See below.

See above photo how the snake caught and killed the deer with its serpentine noose.

Metaphor: Deadly grip of snake, i.e. serpentine noose

In Ananda Marga philosophy, negative forces like avidya maya or the negative load of samskaras are referred to as a serpentine noose because that load of samskaras or negative tendencies has a death grip on humans. It can kill them - easily. That is why the term serpentine noose has been used - to designate that that force is sure to kill you because the grip is so strong. To graphically portray the severity of the case, Baba has used the metaphor of a serpentine noose. Here below are a few examples.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “This binding force, this dangerous binding force with her dexterous hand created the serpentine noose. It is very difficult for ordinary human beings to free themselves from this serpentine noose, but people must not be disheartened or discouraged I am here to help you. Why am I here? These binding forces, these degenerating agencies are under me; they have to obey me. So although you may be an ordinary human being, if you take shelter in me I am to help you.” (4)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “What will be the fate of a person who directs all his psychic propensities towards crude materiality? He or she will be caught again and again in the serpentine noose of death.” (5)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Human beings want to do many great things in life. But their individual abilities are extremely limited; they are tightly bound by human imperfection. They want to do many things but cannot. Because between microcosm and Parama Puruśa is the world of Máyá, the spell of Máyá, the serpentine noose of Máyá. Humans are totally powerless before it.” (6)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “This Operative Principle, the influence of Máyá, is just like a satanic chain, just like a serpentine noose, of afflictions and predicaments. One has to free oneself from this serpentine noose. And this is done through yogic sádhaná. When the yogi comes in close contact with the Supreme Father, the Lord says, “Oh, my child, it is very difficult for a person to overcome the influence of this Máyá. Máyá is insurmountable. But he or she who has taken shelter in Me, who has [ensconced] himself or herself in Me, who has taken shelter on My lap, will surely go beyond the influence of this Máyá.” (7)

Conclusion

The term serpentine noose has been frequently used in Ananda Marga philosophy to depict the death grip of negative samskaras and avidya maya. And per the above photo, a serpentine noose is the deadly grip whereby a snake kills its prey.

Surprising origin of famous words

The words Hindu, India, and Indians are not terms from Bharatavarsa. See here Baba's below teaching:

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Clearly, the word “Hindu” did not exist during that era. Hindu is a Farsi word whose fundamental meaning is “Indus River-basin” or the community of people living in the nearby areas. All of them, regardless of what religion they followed, were Hindus. In other words, the word hindu is a completely geographical word. Those whom we call “Hindu” today are indeed Hindus in the geographical sense. In terms of religion they are followers of the Árśa doctrine. However since nowadays the word “Hindu” is used instead of “Árśa” those who are called Hindu today are Hindus both in the geographical sense and in the religious sense. But those who belong to the various other so-called sects in India are Hindus in the geographical sense but not in the religious sense. They have their own religions." (1)

Note 1: The irony is that Indians think these terms (Hindu, India, and Indians) are their own.

Note 2: The country’s original name is Bharatavarsa. And we wanted to use the original term Bharatavarsa in the title but if we wrote that then nobody around the world would know what we were talking about. So we had no choice - we had to use the word India.
