Not monks but workers

Namaskar,

In the late 1960's when the negative conduct of certain Wts came to light and margiis witnessed this for the first time, they brought the matter to Sadguru Baba.

Then Baba lovingly replied, ‘Why are you thinking that they are holy monks. They are Wts, wholetimer workers, workers, cadres, karmiis. Just like different military and police departments have their particular uniform, in the same way our Wts have their uniform. Because they are dedicated for the society, that is why they have a saffron uniform. Saffron means dedication.’ That was the essence of Guru’s message.

Baba explained, ‘To do social service, workers are needed; so these people are workers. When the society is itself degraded then we will not get thousands and thousands of very elevated souls. Yet we need thousands and thousands of Wts who will be engaged 24hrs in social service. So that is why our WT system was made.’

Colour of their cloth does not have any value


Here the point is not that none of our Wts are divine. Certainly, if someone’s conduct is pristine and dharmika then surely they are divine. And that person may be a WT, LFT, or LPT, or a family margii. In contrast, if a particular Wt's conduct is negative then their standard is lowly. The key takeaway is that one’s stature is based on the quality of their dealings, not the colour of their dress.

Ananda Vanii states, "Your ideal is represented by your conduct. Your learning, your social or economic status have nothing to do with your ideal." (1)


Baba's unique way to end priest exploitation

Baba has taken many steps to eliminate religious exploitation.

(a) Sadguru Baba has given the true and dharmic definition of brahmacarya. In Ananda Marga, brahmacarya has nothing to do with celibacy or adopting monk life.

Anadna Marga philosophy states, “The meaning of practising brahmacarya sádhaná is to treat the object with which one comes in contact as different expressions of Brahma and not as crude forms.” (2)

(b) He has given the proper definition of a sadhu - which varies greatly from the definitions of old.

In the past, the terms “monk” and “sadhu” were virtually interchangeable. Many monks were thought of as sadhus merely because of their dress. And, in general in India, every monk is called a sadhu or sannyasi. Baba's definition of a sadhu is unique and has nothing to do with the colour of one’s cloth or one’s social position - i.e. monk or priest etc. Rather the appellation of sadhu is based exclusively on one’s quality of mind and how they view and treat others.
Pránáh yathátmano’bhiiśt́ah bhútánám api te tathá;
Átmaopamyena bhutánáḿ dayáḿ kurvanti sádhavah.
Ananda Marga ideology states, "The life of each and every entity is very dear to them; all love their lives very much. Those who share this same sentiment of love for other living beings – that is, they feel that “just as my life is very dear, very beloved to me, so other lives are also very dear to me” – such people are called sádhus.” (3)


Wt's are not always monks

(c) Baba has also given the correct definition of a sannyasi. The meaning is the bhakta who has yearning and longing for sat, i.e. that unchangeable Entity, Parama Purusa. So this can be anyone, a family person or a monk. The operative factor is one’s mental status, not the colour of their clothes. Please see Ananda Vacanamrtam part 24 Hindi edition, Purnia DMC 1971.

(d) Baba has also created meditation teachers who are family persons. These are our family acaryas. And this is also a revolutionary step. In the past, family persons never had that opportunity in any religious organization.

(e) Plus the very name (WT) “Wholetime Worker” is after all “worker”, not sadhu, sannyasi, or monk etc.

(f)  Baba has strongly encouraged all disciples to create more and more Wts. In this process - under that pressure - many xyz type of persons got included in our WT cadre. That is to say even xyz persons became Wt. And if we look carefully over the past 50+ year history of creating Wts, then we will find innumerable cases of workers involved in negative acts - i.e. stealing, theft, looting, smuggling, attack, sexual scandal, and even attacking and murdering other avadhutas. All these things have come in the picture. Anyone familiar with the history knows this to be the case. So much has been done by Wts, in various shapes and forms.


Colour of cloth alone has no value

And our WTs have also spread the poison of groupism, falsehood, dogma, and so many negative tales including the distortion of Guru's scripture. All of which came to be known to the public, margiis, non-margiis, everyone. Certainly though not all our WTs are negative - rather most are good and sincere, and only a few are involved in all these types of affairs.

Still, because of the deep-rooted dogma of the supremacy of the priest class, this complex does not go easily from the mind. No doubt in the brain or in the philosophy, with logic and reasoning, all think that in Ananda Marga everyone is equal, i.e. there is no priest supremacy. Rather they think that priest supremacy is one kind of dogma. But in day to day life, many feel in their heart something else. They bow down and surrender to the colour of the cloth. Nowadays, however, more and more are understanding that cloth alone has no value. Conduct is the main thing.


Baba exposes those hypocrites hiding in saffron

Baba strongly condemns the person whose cloth is dyed and not the mind. Here in this following quote from Subhasita Samgraha Baba says:

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Nothing will result from dyeing one's clothes with saffron colour only for show.  Dye yourself within.  People of some particular religious creeds think that dyeing their clothes or bodies with a particular colour is a part of spiritual Sa'dhana'. But remember that is all useless, unless you are dyed within as well." (4)
"Mana na' ra'inga'ile ra'inga'ile yogi ka'par'a.

Saffron and red do not a yogiis make
With mind undyed he remains a fake."
Ananda Marga ideology states, "Dye your mind with His colour. Those who have not done so cannot attain Him, for this very coloration is Prema or Divine Love...  No external sign of Sa'dhuta' or virtue is  necessary.  Become sa'dhu  within. Behind the external show of virtuousness of many so-called sa'dhus exists a pharisaic state of mind. Preserve the true dignity of the word, Sa'dhu."
"Mu'd'a mu'd'a'ye jata' v'ar'aye....

With shaven head or matted locks
And ashen body a Sadhu walks
With the swaggering gait of a well-fed buffalo.
And crude mind filled with thoughts mean and low."
Ananda Marga ideology states, "That is why I say that you must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with His glorious colour." (5)

Conclusion: standard and future of each

According to Baba's teaching, jinanis are the lowest category of people, next comes karmiis, and then the top section is bhaktas. So karmiis are those who think that by the work they can attain Parama Purusa - whether they have love for Him or not. Such dry-minded persons are surely workers; and their standard is quite low - irrespective of which post they are holding whether they are Purodha Pramukha, purodha, or whatever post they have.

Of course there are some who are bragging that 'We are workers and we are super-most'. From a social or worldly perspective they are what they are, but from a spiritual stance it is quite clear that they are really low.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The jina'nis have no future-- they simply waste their time. And the karmiis or people of action have no fixed desideratum, no fixed personal goal, no personal God, hence karmiis have no future." (6)

Treating someone as holy because of their dress alone is dogma. Ananda Marga aims to establish respect based on conduct. If a Wt or margii is of good conduct then accordingly they will get respect. That time has yet to come. We have to bring that era as soon as possible because that is what Baba wants. So nobody should mistakenly think that because of their dress WTs are holy or divine and others are lowly.

Nasty strategy of religious leaders

Here Baba is talking about how those in power instill an inferiority complex into the minds of the masses and by that way it is easy for them to exploit the common people. This is especially done by the priest class.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "If you analyse the history of the world, you will find that whenever one group exploited another in the economic sphere, they first created psychic exploitation by infusing inferiority complex in the minds of the exploited mass. You will find that in each case of economic exploitation, psychic exploitation was the foundation: if you go deep into the background, you will discover a continuous and cunning attempt to create inferiority complex." (7)

Being a Wt, a person has more scope for sadhana, service and sacrifice - because they are dedicated for that type of life. So if they are sincere in all their conduct rules, and deeply engaged in sadhana, service and sacrifice, and their overall conduct is ideal, then surely they should be given proper recognition, regard, and respect.

All-knowing Baba was well aware that if the dogma of priest supremacy continued then one section would suffer from a superiority complex and the other section would suffer from an inferiority complex. Just as the Hindu society has been getting exploited by priestocracy, the same fate would befall Ananda Marga. To root out this problem, Baba has given the term 'worker' for our Wts. So nobody should mistakenly think that our WTs are holy or divine simply because of their dress.

Purport:

O'  Parama Purusa, since ages I have been waiting for You looking toward the path of Your arrival - hoping to have Your darshan. All the good days have passed by, yet now, in the pouring rain, You have taken a lot of trouble to come to me. You are so gracious. In this rainy season, the misty pollen fragrance of my ketakii [1] flower is floating all around. Its aroma is permeating throughout this cloudy rainy season.

O' Parama Purusa, with deep yearning in my heart, in the effulgence of the day, I have sought to find You. I have looked for You in the pitch dark night, in the stars, planets, nebulae, everywhere. Baba, I have searched You in every nook and corner of the deep blue sky. In which unknown place were You hiding. I could not get You anywhere.

Through the scorching heat of the daylight hours, I searched for You until the day passed away. Then, in calling and longing for You, the tired night passed away and the new dawn [2] arose. In this way ages the have gone - and still I don’t have a trace of You. O' Parama Purusa Baba, in the course of waiting for You, in that long span, the garland which I prepared for You has become dry and withered away. Now only the thread is in my hand. Finally, in this late hour You have come. How shall I honour You and decorate You, my Dear One?

 O’ Supreme Entity, now in this situation how will I receive You. Now in this pouring rain You have taken advent next to me. Baba, You have showered Your infinite grace by coming close. I surrender at Your lotus feet...

जब बंगला एवम् नन बंगला ग्रुप के लोग देल्ही साउथ एक्सटेंशन और आनंदनगर में  छुप छुप कर 
मिठाइयां एक दूसरे को खिलाकर, मीटिंग कर गुप्त  समझोता करते है। कि तुम दादा रुद्रानद जी के विरोध् मत जाओ, और हम लोग दादा अभिप्रेमानंद जी के केस  को अपने गवाहों के द्वारा ढीला कर देंगे, और इसी तरीके से रेप केस में भी समझोता करने की मीटिंग होती है।

I fully support the views expressed in this bulletin. Dada K is misguiding. All the PS songs sung before BABA during DMCs were almost instanteous and translations/ purports were made in 3 languges ex-tempore. I had myself attended that DMC. The word was ABHIMA'N for which the real sense of Bangla word is totally different from English or Hindi/ Sam'skrt meaning. Baba had interrupted and stopped the English translation rendering by Dada Vijjayanandaji and in front of some 40 thousand devotees, corrected with explanation. Even now a video of that event is available at some places, possibly at Tiljala.Baba never gave the purports in advance.

Sadguru Baba clearly guides us that when doing padmasana (lotus posture) then one should rest one palm over the other. The fingers should not be interlinked in any way. Pay special attention to the yellow highlighted section below.

Caryacarya states, “When children are five years old and attain some awareness, the parents, brothers, sisters or any guardian may initiate them in Náma Mantra [the preliminary process of meditation]. They should be taught to sit in padmásana [lotus posture], but instead of interlocking the fingers, they may rest one palm upon the other; and keep the spine erect. They will then be instructed to feel or imagine that everything around them, and whatever they visualize, is Brahma.” (1)

In the above photo, one WT Dada is teaching sadhana to a small child. Please pay attention to the child’s fingers - they are interlocked. Yet, sitting in padmasana and interlocking the fingers is forbidden by Sadguru Baba. The correct way to do padmasana is described in the above quote.

Seeing this photo, it is obvious that this Dada is ignorant about the sadhana process - especially how to sit in padmasana. And this is all due to poor training in WT Training Centre (TC) and lack of interest in reading Baba’s books. Often Wts suffer from a superiority complex as well. However, Baba says that in order to acquire knowledge one must adopt the psychology, “I know not.” Yet this feeling - “I know not” - is scarce in WT life. So the problem is two-fold: Most Wts do not read Baba’s books and they think that they already know everything.

This is the problem we are facing nowadays in our organisation. Baba has taken a lot of trouble to write hundreds of books and if His disciples do not read them then who is going to read them.


Conclusion

Whatever may be, it is quite obvious that this Dada is ignorant and he is misguiding this innocent child, unfortunately.

Sadhana: How to request God

Here following is an English summary or gist of the below Hindi teaching:

The first stage is getting over the small 'I'. After getting above the small 'I' to some extent, in the second stage, humans should fight against their mental defects. For example, if one is afflicted by some kind of superiority complex, or inferiority complex, one has to combat that.  Some may be afflicted with attachment (moha). So, all these mental defects one is to fight against in the second stage. Humans may possess some will power to fight against these defects but that alone is not enough. One needs to constantly make endeavor to overcome the mental defects. This requires additional strength or power. This power comes from Parama Purusa's grace alone. Sa'dhana' does not provide us with anything. All Sa'dhana' does is facilitate the grace of Parama Purusa. So, one is to ask for the power to fight against his/her mental defects from Parama Purusa. One should earnestly say, "Parama Purusa, I would like to march towards You but I do not have strength in my knees. Please provide me energy and I'll walk towards You.”

चलने की शक्ति ठेहुना में है नहीं | तुम मुझे शक्ति दो

Two broad categories of sin


Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Pa´pa means "to do that which should not be done". For instance, stealing is pa´pa, telling lies is pa´pa. In addition to pa´pa, there is another word - pratyava´ya. Pratyava´ya means "not to do what should be done". For instance, parents should educate their children. If they do not, they are said to have committed pratyava´ya. In some countries, parents are responsible for arranging the marriage of their daughters who are of suitable age. If they do not, they are said to have committed pratyava´ya. In common parlance, pa´pa means both pa´pa and pratyava´ya. The common word pa´taka [sin] thus has two branches - pa´pa and pratyava´ya." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Regarding the special meaning of pa´pa: Pa´pas are of two kinds. In the social order, there are certain vidhis and certain nis´edhas - certain dos and certain don'ts. "You should do this, you should do this, you should do this, you should do this" - these are the dos of society. These dos are called vidhi in Sanskrit. And there are certain don'ts - "Don't steal, don't do this, don't do this, don't do this." These don'ts are called nis´edha in Sanskrit." "What if you go against the vidhis, for example, "feed the poor," "serve the ailing humanity" (these are all vidhis - "Do this" - that is, positive orders)? For example, if you are to serve ailing persons but you are not serving ailing persons, then you are going against a vidhi. To go against a vidhi is called pratyava´ya. If you are not serving a man in distress, then you are committing pratyava´ya." (2)

‘Colorful’ history of AMPS

Sarvatmananda episode: Purodha Pramukh is a powerful position in AMPS. In the beginning, the Purodha Pramukh Shraddhananda jii who was a simpleton and spineless person was controlled by Sarvatmananda. This is how Sarvatmananda cleverley ruled AMPS via his minion Shraddhananda.


Shraddhananda episode:

Rudrananda later made a faction of Hindi group and took over the faction and began to rule via Shraddhananda just like Sarvatmananda. When Shraddhananda died then Rudrananda began scouting for another fool & vassal to adorn the PP post via whom he can conveniently rule the H group. In those days, the H group had two factions one led by Rudrananda while the other one by Nigamananda.


Rudrananda episode #1

Like a shrewd politician Rudrananda began to build his support in the organisation AMPS to defeat all his competitors. He needed people who obeyed him without asking any questions whatsoever. The strategy used by Rudrananda was to collect stooges having weak characters together and give them high posts. Rudrananda chose two kinds of people, namely, (1) sexually debauched people and (2) the people hungry for high posts. Rudrananda was able to form such a group of his ardent followers cum sycophants very quickly.

A simple rule that Rudrananda follows for maintaining his autocracy is that more degenerate and characterless a worker is bigger the post he/she gets. The weakness of the worker is known to Rudrananda and he uses the knowledge of that weakness to control the person at the higher post and via that the organization. This is the secret of Rudrananda’s “success”.


Rudrananda episode #2

Mantracetanananda was helping Rudrananda in his operations. Mantracetanananda is a person who is hungry of high post. He observed that the then GS Citsvarupananda was a sexually debauched person. As Mantracetanananda himself wanted to become GS, he thought that complaining to Rudrananda would be a good idea to demote the GS Citsvarupananda while the position will become available for him (Mantracetanananda). With this aspiration, Mantracetanananda approached Rudrananda and told him about the sexual misconducts of GS Citsvarupananda. Rudrananda saw this as a threat to his autocracy and without any further thought posted Mantracetanananda in a far away place as a punishment for speaking up. After realizing that his whole life may get spent away from the limelight, in December 2016 Mantracetanananda decided to begin a movement against Rudrananda by exposing all the debauchery happening within the organization under the very supervision of Rudrananda.  Mantracetanananda returned back to India without telling anyone and began a WhatsApp group STO and writing about all the wrongdoings of the highly placed WTs.

The news published by Mantracetanananda to expose the WTs are factually correct as he knows a lot about the organization having lived close to Rudrananda for a long period and observed is wrongdoings directly. Mantracetanananda’s news are a good source of information for Ma’rgiis to find out about the wrongdoings of highly posted central Wts.

Namaskar,
Today’s grave situation is such that Rudrananda is Ananda Marga and Ananda Marga is Rudrananda. Whenever and whatever he wants he can accomplish with the help of his minions. Rudrananda owns the central committee and all the so-called Purodha members are in fact Rudrananda’s Purodhas and not Ananda Marga’s. Rather than serving Baba’s Ananda Marga by establishing camp headquarter in Ranchi, Rudrananda has set up the camp headquarter in Delhi just to create a false show. Now Rudrananda will take Margiis and WTs in Delhi’s Baba quarters and pressurize them to collect money. Rudrananda disobeyed Baba by first setting up the camp headquarter in Ranchi’s Baba quarter and then now knowingly setting up PP quarter in Delhi’s Baba quarter. Via his political PA, who lives in his Banaras palace, Rudrananda sent an order to empty the Baba quarter in Delhi. STO would like to caution all the readers that the snake that we are feeding milk will one day bite us. Those who don’t believe will do so on the day when that happens but that will be too late. If the state of affairs continue like this then very soon the so-called Purodhas of Ranchi will offer Guru Puja to Rudrananda instead of Baba. It seems that the Ranchi Purodhas have already made their mind to do so.

Baba will punish the maha’pa’takii (sinners of the worst type) murderers of Ac. Abhipremananda  in their this very lives in such a manner that even the onlookers will shiver out of fear. But, what to speak about those who murder Baba’s system and His ideals every single day? They violate the system and ideology and put blames on others and yet project themselves to be great persons in the organisation AMPS. Aforementioned type of people can only be called paramapa’takii (absolute sinners).

Myth: rich & poor

Dádá N. has recently posted on his facebook page (see below image) – “मेहनत करने से गरीबी नहीं रहती” (English translation – by one's hard work, one will not remain poor). By giving this statement Dádá N. has taken the side of the capitalists, and is against the interest of the poor, downtrodden, and exploited masses. "Work hard and pull yourself up!"--this is the call of capitalist exploiters, of the Right wing conservatives, who are against paying proper daily wages to the poor so they can rise out of their desperate condition. But due to their exploitation, hard work will not achieve the needful. Dádá N. is an agent of the capitalist exploiters.

A screen capture of Dádá N. facebook page is shown below. On this page Dádáji is propagating the capitalistic teaching that by doing hard work one does not remain poor. But that is preposterous.





In the above picture, Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is suggesting various “good habits” to get rid of problems. One such magic cure solution for the problem of poverty that Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is suggesting is to work hard. Working hard without rectifying the capitalistic exploitation will not solve the problem of poverty. Rather, it is just going to further bolster the exploitative machinery of capitalism. So the propaganda of Dádá is laughable.


Hard work alone in capitalist system does not mitigate poverty


Hard work alone in a capitalist society does not solve the problem of poverty. Let us consider a few examples.

A rickshaw puller works very hard all his life to pull heavy loads. The work is so laborious and compensation is so poor, that it leads to poor nutrition as well. Due to this, many rickshaw pullers get affected by tuberculosis and die a premature death at the age of 35 to 40 years.




The above picture shows a rickshaw puller working hard and pulling heavy loads. Rickshaw pullers in India, their duty goes on 24 hours per day, and with that they can purchase a mere 2-3 kg of staple grain. They cannot afford any vegetables or pulses, no spices or anything else. That’s why they sleep on the footpath-- most of them are homeless in the city at their place of work. In due course, due to malnutrition they die prematurely at a young age.

Likewise, the work of a washerman is also very laborious. He has to stand in ice-cold water for many hours during winter to wash clothes.

The below picture shows the plight of road workers at work; they have to work very hard in the scorching sun the whole day to earn a pittance to drag their existence. The whole day they dig soil with their hands, and due to malnutrition they die prematurely. What to speak of getting rich, they never escape poverty.

If we were to believe what Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is propagating, i.e., मेहनत करने से गरीबी नहीं रहती then all the people involved in pulling rickshaws would have been millionaires. All the washermen would own large mansions. All the road workers would live luxurious lives. But the reality is that all the people involved in labor intensive tasks actually remain poor throughout their lives. Not only that, their children never get an opportunity to go to school and if they survive the hardships of their childhood then they get involved in similar labor-intensive professions as their parents and live in a state of perpetual poverty.

Prout not Capitalism will solve the problem of poverty

The system needs to be changed entirely, from capitalism to PROUT. Those born into poverty have no means to escape. And the capitalists do not want to empower them to rise, because empowering the masses means giving up what they themselves have. And Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is supporting these very capitalists, who merely stand on the mountain top and point their finger into the abyss of exploited masses, accusing and blaming them that it is only due to their laziness that they are poor. Is the fat salary of the CEO commensurate with his hard work, compared to the laborer in the sweat shop making a few pennies? The CEO worked millions and millions of times harder--and continues to do so daily-- and that is why he makes that proportion more per day? Complete garbage. It is due to the exploitative machinery of the capitalism, and Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is supporting it.


Opportunists rationalize their greedy acts via tall talk

Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is speaking the language of same shrewd exploiters who distort the meaning of the shloka from Giitá1 and rationalize their exploitation.

   Ananda Marga philosophy states, “You should remember one thing. There are some opportunistic people in this world who distort the meaning of this shloka from the Giitá and thus manage to perpetuate the machinery of exploitation. This is very amusing. I bring it into the domain of philosophy because it is highly illustrative. Those exploiters glibly make their views known: ‘These poor people, these toiling people, these intellectuals, they have no doubt the right to work, but they have no right to the results of their actions. The results, the fruits, should accrue to us, the owners, the proprietors. ‘Increase our wages, give us more remuneration, pay us a bonus…’ – they have no right to say all these things.’” (1)

Capitalist propaganda


Greedy and exploitative capitalists use crafty language to befool the masses languishing in poverty that their desperate condition can be rectified by hard work. Unfortunately, Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is supporting this via his posting. Behind propagating this befoolery the objective of the capitalists is to further exploit the last drop of  blood from the bodies of poor people.

   Prout philosophy states, “People's physical longings are not satisfied until they come in contact with a truly great ideology. Till then, people's wolf-like hunger is insatiable, as if they are incessantly repeating, ‘I am hungry, I am hungry.’ Their jaws are always open, and the foolish people of this world resign themselves to their own fatalistic beliefs and fall into them. The ferocious wolf-pack devours their flesh and blood and casts away the unpalatable bones. Should we support this wolfish philosophy? The day-labourers, porters and gate-keepers around us who wear dirty rags and have fatigue etched on their faces are not considered human by those who are rolling in luxury.”
   “It is a characteristic of vested interests that they never bother to think of anyone except themselves. They must eat and the rest of humanity only exists to be eaten. They want increasingly more objects for their gratification. Those who earn three thousand rupees a month think that this is an extremely meagre amount, but they never stop to consider the needs of those who earn a negligible thirty rupees a month. A poor man has to pay his rent, maintain his family, educate his children, buy milk for his babies, and save something to put towards the cost of his daughter's marriage, all out of thirty rupees. Are these needs only applicable to the upper stratum of society? Are they not the minimum necessities of life? Rich people do not want to consider the needs of the poor, because if they do they will have to make some sacrifices. Where will their luxuries and comforts come from if hunger does not burn the bellies of the poor? Is it not a fine idea if the daughters of the poor go on collecting cow dung forever, and their sons work like slaves in the houses of the rich for generations together? Is this not a fine arrangement? As for the high hopes of the poor, aren't they ridiculous? Aren't they out of touch with reality?" (2)


Conclusion

The earth has sufficient resources to feed all its inhabitants. Poverty in the physical sphere is caused by people’s greed. This greed is caused by a misdirected desire for infinite happiness that leads to a few humans capturing huge proportions of the limited natural resources while leaving others to fend for themselves on the meager remains. These greedy people are the capitalists who proclaim, in their crafty narrative, that hard work is required for overcoming poverty which is nothing but an alibi for exploiting others. Being free from poverty in physical sphere is needed but hard work is not the key. The exploitation that causes the poverty in the first place has to be fought against. And Baba is of course not against hard work. All should work hard in their lives to move ahead. But the statement given by Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji, that "by one's hard work, one will not remain poor"-- This is preposterous.

Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is just propagating the same kind of capitalistic discourse in spite of being an Ánanda Márga sannyási. Instead of propagating the truth, the teachings of Guru Shri Shri Ánandamurtiji, Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji is posting poisonous capitalistic teachings. Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji’s irresponsibility can misguide many people and therefore it is requested to contact Dádá Nityasundaránanda ji on his Facebook handle2 and make him aware of his misdeeds.

[1] Tumimaya (Brahma bhava): This is the state when everything in the world becomes the personification of the Supreme Divine Entity - Baba. Due to intense longing, the bhakta contemplates, "Wherever I look in this world, I see only You."  Here is one crude example. Suppose someone lost a large amount of money, then no matter where they go - even if they are in one spectacular garden full of flowers - they can only think about and see that lost money. Because their mind is so fixated on that. In a sentient example, when a bhakta has intense desire for the Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji, they experience and see Him wherever they look. And that deeply spiritual state is known as Brahma bhava, i.e. 2nd lesson.

Religious dogma: heaven & hell


Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Svarloka – this is the pure mental sphere on which sukha and dhuka are experienced; it is also called Manomaya Jagat, Manomaya Kośa in individuals. It is in this sphere that the saḿskáras exist. According to mythology, after the death of the physical body or Annamaya Kośa, people go to svarga or naraká, heaven or hell. The fact is that the saḿskáras which determine the individuality of unit being situated in this svarloka. The Christian and Muslim ideas of heaven and hell and also svarga in Hindu Karmakandi Jaemini Partná, were derived from the fact that the saḿskáras which determine the requitals of actions exists exits in this loka. In reality no kośa will remain after death. The saḿskáras remains as the object of the átman. Thus the ideas of heaven and hell of the Hindu, Christian and Muslim mythologies are completely false, because after death there remains no mind at all to experience heaven or hell.” (1)

Note: After death the mind is dormant so one can’t experience anything. It is well known that so-called heaven or hell is here on earth.

Islamic credo in AMPS

The below article by Muhammad Anisujjaman and accompanying photo depict the mahaprayan death day occasion of Muslim follower Khan Saroyar Murshid’.

Khan Saroyar Murshid’, a school teacher, died in Bengal and they observed the anniversary the mahaprayan with many in attendance. Actually, such mahaprayan ceremonies have been popular in the Islamic tradition for hundreds and hundreds of years. They bury their dead and erect a tomb and regularly worship the tomb on the anniversary of the death. Some of the observances are large and some small - the common theme being they are regularly done.

In contrast, other communities like the Hindus and Jains never did any type of mahaprayan observance. They would simply burn the body and spread the ashes - whereas for mahaprayan a tomb is needed. And only Muslims were doing that for mahaprayan.

Muslim tomb worship  now in AMPS


So it was only recently that other communities like the Jains and Hindus began emulating this mahaprayan observance and erecting tombs. AMPS has learned about the mahaprayan ritual from those Muslims. The proof is that you will not find old, old tombs in any tradition except Islam.

For this particular observance highlighted below, Muhammad Anisujjaman has written an obituary / eulogy in a Bengali newspaper for the mahaprayan of Khan Saroyar Murshid’, a follower of Islam. By this photo and accompanying article, it is clear they are keen to honour this death day program.

The below photo shows how mahaprayan is done by Muslims to observe the death of those mainly of the Islamic faith. Those followers bury their deceased and then perform yearly tomb worship on the anniversary of their death. Here you can see how they sit around the tomb of the deceased. This is one of the common ways they observed their mahaprayan ritual.



And here below we can see how in Tiljala they have implemented that same Islamic tradition by encircling the tomb as they perform their tomb worship during their annual mahaprayan program etc. See the below photo courtesy of Tiljala Publications.

Annual death ceremony: not Sadguru

Naturally then, when the mahaprayan function is embraced by all as a death ceremony for human beings, then when it is done in Tiljala every year in October, all the locals think that a death ceremony is being convened---Baba is also a human being, not Sadguru.


Lowly disciples apply dogma to Guru

Taken altogether, the situation is quite pitiful. Beloved Baba is the eternal Parama Purusa yet the mahaprayan organisers are treating Him like one mortal who died.

It is just like how Lord Buddha was against idol worship; he himself did meditation. But the moment Lord Buddha left his physical body then his own disciples starting making and worshiping his idol. The dogma which Lord Buddha opposed, his own followers implemented for him. How ironic.

And now inside a similar thing is unfolding in Ananda Marga. Sadguru Baba is against the annual shraddha dogma:

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (1)

Yet certain Wts have imposed an annual death day anniversary program - i.e. mahaprayan - in Ananda Marga. And what to speak of 12 days, it is 24 years - and counting. How ironic - what Guru does not appreciate, they are doing that very thing for Him.

Every Ananda Margii should stop and think


So I ask you: Pause and think. This letter is not about groupism; this is a deeply spiritual issue on bhakti. Guru is being abused. Don't you think Guru is with you always? In the tantra of Ananda Marga, sadhana starts with this feeling that, "Guru is with me." One must have this basic feeling. So naturally every Ananda Margii thinks their Sadguru is with them. Then why are we allowing this dogmatic annual death ceremony, which is against Caryacarya.

O' Parama Purusa, by thinking of You with all the feelings of my heart, my ba'ndha-bha'unga' mana [1]  (overjoyed mind) is ensconced in bliss and floats towards the godly realm. O' the Controller of the eternal and mortal worlds, the hope of the hopeless, even a wee-bit of Your mercy and love is enough to overfill my heart with spiritual bliss and give me goose bumps, horripilation, throughout my being. Baba, is it You who brings that deep spiritual surge of bhakti within me.

O' Supreme Entity, thinking about You, my mind is ensconced in bliss.

Baba, You are incomparable in rhythm and most pleasant in aroma. You have no comparison. In all vibrations, in the quintessence, deep down, You are the Dearest One to all; You are the nucleus of all the vibrations. In the garland You are the flower. In the necklace You are the jewel. In everything, You are the best. Remaining in viitara'ga [2], You smile with the beauty of prema, heavenly love like flowers.

O' Divine Entity, thinking about You, my mind is ensconced in bliss.

O’ my Eternal Friend, in the severe heat, You are those first, cool showers that bring relief and respite. In the space between the monsoon clouds, You are the effulgent polestar. In the darkness, You are the beauty of the moon's enchantment. Under the hot sun, You are cool shade beneath the trees. In each and every circumstance, You are the Saviour. Baba, even staying afar, You stay in my mind’s precious haven.

Prabhu, thinking about You, my mind is ensconced in bliss.

O' Parama Purusa, keep me eternally at Your lotus feet...


Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3006:

[1] Ba'ndha-bha'unga' mana: This is when the mind is overwhelmed with joy. Such as when one is extremely happy and bursts into tears or when one jumps for joy or exclaims or dances. In actuality though it is more than the joy experienced in worldly circumstances. It is that inexpressible bliss from the spiritual flow. It happens in the spiritual realm when one's mind is fully ensconced in His bliss and one starts crying uncontrollably. This is a state wherein one completely loses their composure.

[2] Viitara'ga: This is the state of being beyond any worldly attachment or attraction - i.e. perfect equanimity in all circumstances. One of the qualities of Parama Purus'a is vaera'gya.


== Section 3: Important Teaching ==

Too much sleep ruins mind

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The first bad habit is nidra or sleep. Sleep is a state that creates a feeling of vacuity after it is over. That is, immediately after waking up people forget where they were or what they were doing before sleeping. They lose the sense of time. “What’s the time now?” they ask, forgetting whether it is day or night. If people sleep too much for days on end, this mental disorientation persists for a long time. “Is it day or night? What time is it?” they ask, confused. If this continues, their receptive and retentive powers decrease resulting in an almost total loss of mental power. They become dull, and lack courage to face life’s problems. They may have physical strength, but they lack courage. The ancient people believed that excessive sleep is good for health, but this is not the case. Rather, too much sleep not only impairs the health, but has an adverse effect on the mind." (1)

In materialistic societies, it is taught that 8 hours of sleep is essential. But that is not correct. If one sleeps deeply, then four hours of sleep is sufficient. One will awaken feeling revived and refreshed. In contrast, if one does not sleep deeply then the body will not be properly repaired nor restored. So the amount of time is not the operative factor. Rather, the depth of sleep is the key point. True sleep means a dreamless sleep - then both mind and body are quickly restored. In deep sleep, there is a complete vacuum, and one is not aware about the passage of time. In that state, only a few hours of sleep is needed.
