Karl Marx’s annual mahaprayan + 2 more

Karl Marx’s annual mahaprayan

Namaskar,

On the anniversary of the mahaprayan of Mr Karl Marx, they printed the below article. The word highlighted in orange in the below article is the term "mahaprayan" written in Devanagari script. Here is that article - appended below.

Some of our Dadas have tutored margiis that this mahaprayan commemoration came directly from heaven - the 7th sky. Some think this is something very divine, pious, and grand reserved for the Supreme Entity. But it is quite clear that the observance of mahaprayan is not something lofty or great; it is done to denote the death of ordinary folks, even communist mortals, or any human being, not Parama Purusa. When anyone dies, then throughout the entire Indian subcontinent, the mahaprayan program is performed - regardless of whether the person was a villain or hero. Because mahaprayan means death ceremony of xyz.

Here below Caryacarya gives an explicit period of time for mourning - i.e. 12 days. The annual mahaprayan dogma is in clear violation of this rule.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (1)

In Him,
Renuka’ Guha’

Attending means supporting that dogma

Remember, going to the annual mahaprayan gathering for the sake of doing kiirtan is a bogus justification. Merely attending that mahaprayan gathering signifies your wholehearted support of that event. Here is the fundamental equation: If anyone is doing anything anywhere and you go to their location and do what they are doing, it means you are supporting their cause. That is the basic formula that can be applied to countless situations.

About Marx

Karl Marx (1818-1883) was the founding father of communism. He and Friedrich Engels (1820-1895) co-authored the Communist Manifesto. Communism does not support any religion or belief system, but even then this mahaprayan term was used. That demonstrates that mahaprayan is applicable for all - both believers and non-believers. It is not only reserved for spiritual or dharmic occasions.

Bogus justification

Some of our respected brothers and sisters, i.e. those who are the organisers and inventors of the shraddhainjali / mahaprayan (মহাপ্রয়াণ)  / tomb worship dogma, repeatedly resort to a particular quote when justifying the existence of their annual tomb day ceremony. Here below is that quote followed by a short analysis.

"Táraka Brahma comes here on a particular date, leaves this earth also on a particular date, takes the birth of His quinquelemental body, the death of His quinquelemental body." (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 12, The Coming of Táraka Brahma, EGD 13 May 1979 Fiesch)
After citing this quote, some Dadas furthermore justify that, "As we already celebrate the birth, then why not celebrate the day of leaving as well. Then everything will be complete."

However, observing annual shraddhainjali / mahaprayan (মহাপ্রয়াণ) / tomb worship of Mahasambhuti means going against and violating the pre-1990 Caryacarya and Guru's wishes. That is the worst grade of sin. Because the pre-1990 Caryacarya forbids annual death day.

Sadguru Baba is not mortal human being

In this article - as well as in its regular usage - mahaprayan is used to insinuate the death or death day anniversary  of a person who has made his departure from this world. It is not for God. That is why this mahaprayan program must not be used for Sadguru Baba because He did not depart - He is the eternal Parama Purusa. So the mahaprayan term is for humans, i.e. mortals.

It should be emphasized that the concept of mahaprayan means the death or death anniversary of a human. It is not something lofty, great, or divine, and is not meant to be used with Sadguru Baba. Some people, knowingly or unknowingly, want to ruin Baba's grandeur and soil the greatness of Parama Purusa. That is why they are projecting Baba as a mortal.

Every Ananda Margii should pause & think

So I request you to pause and think. This letter is not about groupism; this is a spiritual issue. Guru is being abused. Don't you think Guru is with you always? In the tantra of Ananda Marga, sadhana starts with this feeling that, "Guru is with me." One should have this basic feeling. Naturally every Ananda Margii thinks their Sadguru is with them. Then why are we allowing this dogmatic annual death or death day anniversary commemoration of mortals, i.e. mahaprayan.

Hypocritical behaviour

Sadguru Baba is guiding you and in the next breath they say He is dead - mahaprayan. True bhaktas know that there is no such thing as mahaprayan for Sadguru Baba. As the Sadguru He never passes away, He is omnipresent. So those of our Wts who believe in and propagate that Sadguru is dead are confused. Actually they are displaying hypocritical behaviour.

When our avadhutas / acaryas give initiation, or revise anyone’s lessons, or give further lessons of sadhana, they say, “I am just a medium - Sadguru Taraka Brahma Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is teaching you and He is ever-present."

In one breath our Wt dadas say that Sadguru Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is guiding you, and in the next breath they say He is dead - mahaprayan. That is both hypocritical and sinful. Hypocritical because they are telling one thing and doing something else. By mahayaprayan, certain Dadas are telling that Guru is no more, yet when teaching sadhana they are relying on Him. And it is sinful because it is abusive against Guru.

It is similar to your own children playing before you and talking among themselves that, “My mother is dead.” As a mother, how will you feel. And not only that, they go one further. Before your very eyes they start commemorating your annual death day ceremony. How do you feel about their ignorance?

True bhaktas never participate in the dogmatic annual death day ceremony / mahaprayan of the ever-present God. That is against pre-1990 Caryacarya.

Why mahaprayan (MPD) is inherently wrong

In countless discourses Baba has guided us to think that Parama Purusa is the nearest and dearest One. An aspirant should not think that Parama Purusa is distant or far. Otherwise one will invite their extreme degeneration and ruin their spiritual and devotional life.

Thinking that Parama Purusa is gone is very detrimental, as it is 100% contrary to our spiritual approach. Ananda Marga mantras give the idea: Parama Purusa is with me. Only avidya maya, viks'epta shatkti, says that Parama Purusa is far.

Du'ra't Sudu're...

Ananda Marga ideology warns us, "If someone continually thinks, “Parama Purus'a is far from me”, then He will seem to be truly far from him...If in their ignorance people think that Parama Purus'a is far from them, then He may indeed remain for from them – so far that in future, even if one cries oneself hoarse, one’s cries will never reach Him." (1)

Rather this should be the approach

"Tadihántike ca: Some people think, “No, Parama Purus'a is not far from me. He is quite near.”" (2)

It is one’s spiritual duty to always remember and cultivate the supreme truth that He is always with you.

Remembering His close proximity is bhakti and this creation is His thought projection. He is the nucleus, He cannot be far, gone, or missing; thus it is philosophically and devotionally wrong to have a dogmatic annual death day program like mahaprayan that dictates that Baba is gone.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "You spiritual aspirants, you should remember that Parama Puruśa is always with you and His grace is always with you, and you all are His loving children." (3)
