Baba
Coward writer

Namaskar,

Our endeavour is to present the way of tantra to the society. That means having the courage to publicly address Guru in reverential terms. Unfortunately, some cowards refrain from prefacing Guru’s name with the respectful title “Shrii.” So they are putting forth a poor show and the wrong example.

Why using Shrii Shrii

The auspicious advent of Taraka Brahma onto the planet is a magnificent event. In the entire world population, only Ananda Margiis are aware about His great arrival. As His disciples, we are then responsible for referring to Baba with reverence, using the proper name according to our Ananda Marga system. That means addressing Him as Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. And by this approach the entire globe will learn correctly what to do, i.e. how to refer to Him.

Not just Bhagawan, but Taraka Brahma

Here below it clearly states that Parama Purusa Baba is far more than just Bhagavan - He is beyond that.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "All the qualities that are present in Saguńa Brahma or Iishvara (Qualified Consciousness) are of course also present in Parama Puruśa, with some other qualities as well. So we see that Parama Puruśa is both Iishvara and Bhagaván, and something more than that." (1)

Sadguru Baba - Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji - is not only Bhagawan, but furthermore He is Taraka Brahma. While explaining the term Bhagawan, Ananda Marga ideology has expressed that the Personality who has bhaga is called Bhagawan. And the term bhaga means the collection of six attributes. These attributes are: (a) aeshvarya, (b) viryam, (c) yasa, (d) shrii, (e) jinanam, and (f) vairagya.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "The meaning of the word Bhaga is 'Aeshvarayamca samagram viiryamca yashasah shriyah Jinana-vaergyamca sanaam bhagaiti smrta'. Bhaga is the collection of six attributes." (2)

We can see then that bhaga is just the collection of six qualities. And one of the qualities is 'Shrii'. Indeed, 'Shrii' is the 4th attribution of the Lord. And the meaning of Shrii is "attraction" or "charm". Accordingly, the term Shrii should always be used - Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. This is the tantric code. And that is the example He has given us, so as His followers this is what we should do.

Coward Avts. don’t capitalize pronoun or use Shrii Shrii

Some spineless avadhutas cowards are running a fake Ananda Marga website. They are posing as if they are true avadhutas and Ananda Margiis, but they do not have the moral courage to capitalize the pronoun “He” when referring to Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti.

(a) They should write “Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji and <<<His>>> advent”, but instead they write “Anandamurti and <<<his>>> advent”.

(b) They should write “Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar and <<<His>>> advent”, but instead they write “Prabhat Ranjan and <<<his>>> advent”.

This is due to their spinelessness. And further down is an example from their phony website.

PK Dada is also guilty

Pranavatmakananda (PK Dada) is also guilty of this same defective approach. Throughout his book, “Advent of a…”, Pranavatmakananda failed to capitalise the pronouns “he” / “his” etc when referring to Baba. This happened again and again and again in his book. Pranavatmakananda’s book is an expose on the wrong way to refer to Sadguru Taraka Brahma Baba. And the root cause is cowardice. PK Dada lacked the courage to stand up in public and express his reverence for Baba by capitalising the pronouns. Rather, PK cowered to public opinion and public reaction, completely fearful of how they might respond. That is why his book is not up to the proper standard.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Example: from web address

This is due to their spinelessness. Here below is an example from their phone website.

Example: from web address

On their phony AM website, they write: “Those who  followed
<<<his>>> teachings found their lives transformed as they overcame the weaknesses and negative tendencies of the mind to experience a deep peace and bliss within. Inspired by <<<his>>> selfless example, they focused their efforts on serving the society and elevating the oppressed.” (http://www.anandamarga.org/)

When such spineless people are controlling the website you can see how much bhakti they have. Whatever they believe they do not have full conviction. Superficially it looks like they are true dharmikas, but inside their heart they are hollow.

In contrast, the followers of Christ, Buddha, Lord Mahaviira boldly express in their writing and use <<<He>>> for their Propounder. But on this Ananda Marga Org website we see cowards and coloured jackals running the show. Those cowardly avadhutas write <<<he>>> because they do not have courage to write the pronoun as capital “h” for He.

In many books of our official Ananda Marga books, you will find Shrii Shrii Anandamurti written on the front cover. It is always prefixed with double Shrii.

It is our duty as Ananda Margiis to not fall prey to pseudo-culture. The whole society is waiting for our guideline. Baba has given everything. Our duty is to first practice in our own life, and then guide others and bring them on the proper path. Due to improper guidelines and faulty theories such as the lure of materialism, the whole society is confused and moving in the wrong direction. We should not allow this to continue - nor introduce any negative ways.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Conclusion

Baba authored many of His books as Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. The double prefix of “Shrii Shrii” is always used. And that is what every sincere disciple should also do. And that is Guru’s direction. By seeing someone’s writing you can see who is real and who is fake. Fake people do not prefix with double “Shrii." Cowards also do not do. But brave bhaktas always prefix with double "Shrii." Bhaktas do not write just write "Anandamurti".  Bhaktas write "Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji".

Namaskar,
In Him,
Raghava

~ In-depth study ~

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Shrii: That special quality which attracts everyone in one direction, the “one” of that attractive power, is said to have shrii. It is also called shriipati (tirupati). In other words, shrii means “the power of attraction” or “charm” or “fascination”." (3)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Shrii: Sha is the acoustic root of rajoguńa [the mutative principle] and the ra of energy. When people plunge headlong into the field of action with all the rajas [mutative force] at their disposal, and backed by this stored-up energy take to karma yoga, that is, when they take up the challenge with all the inherent force and vigour of their personality, we say that sha and ra are well-blended in them. So sha + ra = shra. The word is in the feminine gender, so it becomes shrii when suffixed by uniiś. Shrii means the power of attraction – a unique combination of mutative lustre and inner vitality. All human beings covet this rare quality, shrii, so even those who are devoid of shrii like to prefix their names with shrii." (4)

Not just a small point

Some persons may be imagining this is just a "small thing". For those who may be thinking in this misguided fashion, please consider these following examples:
(a) Suppose, for instance, if one is walking in a dry, dirty area, and gets covered with dust. That may not be bothersome to them. But if one tiny grain of dust gets in the eye. Then it will be a big problem. So something small may create chaos, depending upon how crucial it is.
(b) Suppose someone puts their shoes on their head instead of on their feet. It may seem like a small mistake, but it will create a big problem.
(c) Suppose a person tries to walk upside down, with their head on the ground. This may seem like a simple thing, but it will create huge difficulties.
(d) Or suppose someone cuts off their nose. The nose may be something small or inconsequential, but cutting off the nose will derange their entire face.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

By these above examples it becomes clear that "small things" can create huge errors and cause much harm. So one can hardly call those things as small, inconsequential errors. Rather they become serious problems which need to be addressed and corrected.

Now let's apply this to the appellation - Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. Two of the seven 'Secrets of Success' are:

       (1) Shraddha' (deep reverence for the Goal (Ista); and
       (2) Guru Puja, (respectful offering and surrender to the Guru).

These are two of the "Secrets of Success" which Baba highlights in so many discourses. See then how essential it is to have deep reverence for the Guru. To express that properly, in Ananda Marga our way is to give maximum regard to Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji, the Granter of salvation.

Something supposedly small like putting "Shrii" before Baba's name has tremendous importance, and not doing so creates huge negativity. It is extremely disrespectful to that Divine Entity.

Science behind Shrii Shrii

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Next is ra, which is the acoustic root of energy. We have spoken earlier about energy. In Sanskrit, indra means energy – for example, light, sound, electricity. Where sha, that is, the rajoguńii vrtti [propensity], and ra, that is, energy, are both present, success is assured. Many may have a mind to do something, but do not have the requisite capability to do so. The desire is there, but no effective skill. Obviously, ra is absent here. Where both sha and ra are present we get shra, and adding the feminine uniiśa gives shrii." (5)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "You must have seen objects that instantly draw your attention. That means the particular object has an attractive force within it. There are some people who are not particularly learned or intelligent; nor are they adept at public speaking; but they are very good conversationalists. People gather round them eagerly to enjoy their pleasantries. That too is a kind of shrii. There are people who are not conversant with the intricacies of music, but they sing so melodiously that others rush to listen to them. That is the person's musical shrii. Hence that singer may be honoured with the title giitáshrii." (6)

Ananda Marga philosophy ideology, "One of the names of Parama Puruśa is Shriinivása. Here the Saḿskrta word shrii means “the most charming personality.” The word shrii is derived from sha + ra + uniiś. Sha is the acoustic root of the mutative principle and ra is the acoustic root of energy. With the help of these two things, sha plus ra, human beings are moving, dancing, speaking and doing so many things. Obviously they need sha and ra very much. The supreme abode of this shrii is Parama Puruśa: hence He is affectionately called Shriinivása. To Him only all the living beings will return, either today or tomorrow. That is the supreme abode of bliss, the supreme culminating point – ánandadháma...parágati." (7)

Just a little courage is needed

40-50 years ago in various countries, meditation or yoga asanas were looked upon as something very negative, like witchcraft. The general people were scared to practice - or at the very least embarrassed. But with the efforts of courageous people it became common and now yoga is well respected - indeed it has become extremely popular; everyone is doing it. And all capitalist companies show people doing meditation in their advertisements. So once a practice is introduced in the right way then surely it will be embraced.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Similarly, if we start using 'Shrii' before the name, then without any delay, it will become common and well-respected. Already we use many Sanskrit terms in our way of speaking, and we have become habituated to them. For instance, we use the term jagrti; we do not call it a temple, mosque, or church. Likewise we use the term dharmacakra; we do not call it prayer or namaj or yajina. And, we do not call AM a religion, rather we use the word dharma. Also we use 'namaskar' and not "Hi" or "hello" or namaste or Salaam Vale Kum, or Ram Ram. Rather we use namaskar mudra as our salutation - with folded hands not shaking hands. All these tantric approaches have been incorporated into our Ananda Marga way of  life.

So this dogma of lack of reverence has been started by certain individuals and that dogma must be removed from our Ananda Marga society.

Not praiseworthy to use non-Sanskrit name

As we have seen in the past, when Sanskrit names were introduced into our Ananda Marga society, then in the beginning many were feeling uncomfortable or reluctant to use their Sanskrit / Saḿskrta names in public. And some still today in their day to day worldly dealings do not like to use their Sanskrit name. In His DMC discourse, Baba explains that those who suffer from such a weakness of mind due to materialism or other negative philosophies get such psychic complexes.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Those who are reared in the cradle of materialistic ideologies, feel shy or ashamed at first to sit in meditation in the presence of others." (8)

Likewise, those who do not like to use their own Sanskrit name are not doing something great or praiseworthy etc. Rather their faulty manner is the expression of a weak mind. It is clear by Baba's above guideline. Pseudo-culture is such a prevalent thing, and using one's non-Sanskrit name is a "gift" of pseudo-culture. In current times pseudo-culture permeates nearly every aspect of life, so sometimes it is hard to recognize it.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

How pseudo-culture spreads & dogmas take root

In His 'Exploitation and Pseudo-Culture' chapter of Neo-Humanism, Baba explains that via the medium of theatre & cinema, rich people impose their low and degraded styles of art and dance on other societies. And because of their inferiority complex, innocent people start copying that and fall into pseudo-culture. Unfortunately they adopt it quickly. And even worse is that they feel honored. It is such a pity that they leave their beautiful customs and culture and adopt pseudo-culture and feel glorified by that. This problem is rampant these days.

This very stage is very detrimental. Those whose backbone is broken by the heavy weight of pseudo-culture are a burden and cannot do anything.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "If their cultural backbone is broken, then all their struggles will end in nothing--like offering clarified butter to a sacrificial fire which has been reduced to ashes. If one's spine is shattered, it is impossible to hold one's head erect. Can those whose necks and backs are crushed under the weight of pseudo-culture, be expected to hold their heads high in any sphere of life?" (9)

Unfortunately some in our Ananda Marga have fallen into this position. Here we should remember that Baba has taught us that in our Ananda Marga culture we are to use Sanskrit / Saḿskrta. This is the given system.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Unfortunately, some are obsessed with various dogma and with that psychic disease they don't want to leave that tradition which is going on in outdated local social ethics. Because of this, in a growing number of countries, usually a few people don't understand the value of the Sanskrit / Saḿskrta names.

Close & intimate

"Ajáná pathik eseche, phule phale priiti kájale.." (Prabhat Samgiita #4490)

Purport:

The Parama Purusa Ajana Pathik has come and taken advent. He has filled this mortal world with flowers and fruits, and  supreme love and affection.

For Him no one is distant, no one is alien, everyone is His own - close and intimate. He has graciously wiped away all the tears and removed the suffering of everyone.

The Divine Lord has come riding on the chariot of golden refulgence. He is associated with one and all through His ota and prota yoga. He is pulling everyone with His supreme spiritual attraction and with the blessing of His vara’bhaya mudra’.

Today Parama Purusa Baba has come. The whole world is inundated with His love - His grace....

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #4490

[1] Ajana Pathik: The term Aja'na' Pathik means 'The Divine Entity Parama Purusa Who moves around this entire universe, and resides everywhere and knows everything; irrespective of where one goes, He remains along with you'. That is one of His many unique attributions and that is the speciality of the name 'Ajana Pathik'. The name 'Ajana Pathik' denotes this special quality.

Literally, Aja'na' means 'unknown' and Pathik means 'traveler' or ‘tourist.’ But this is just the word by word, literal translation; and proper nouns are not meant to be translated. So we cannot call Him the ‘Unknown Traveler’ or ‘Unknown Tourist', or Unknown Vacationer', or 'Unknown Backpacker', or 'Unknown Visitor', or 'Unknown Globetrotter', or 'Unknown Daytripper', or 'Unknown Hitchhiker.’ The spirit and meaning is then lost.
The inner sense of the name Ajana Pathik is that Parama Purusa is always moving throughout this vast cosmos and He is constantly present with everyone, all the time. He is in the Cosmic Nucleus yet at the same time through His ota and prota yoga He is everywhere - carefully watching & lovingly guiding everyone. This unique aspect of His grand Personality is treated as Aja'na' Pathik. Because He is constantly traveling yet present everywhere. He is in the nucleus as well as throughout this entire universe.

As the Ajana Pathik, Parama Purusa Baba moves and moves and moves. In their spiritual approach bhaktas feel that wherever they go the Aja'na' Pathik will always be there to shower His blessing. By His grace, bhaktas can always get His intimate company and companionship. With this mystical link, sadhakas understand that Parama Purusa is present everywhere, yet side by side He travels on and on throughout this entire cosmos. Thus He is Aja'na' Pathik.

Overall the name Aja'na' Pathik has one special and unique meaning that goes far beyond its literal translation. And in our hearts we A'nanda Ma'rgiis know and feel that Baba is that Aja'na' Pathik. Indeed in His discourses, in Dharma Samiiksa, and in reporting, in DMC, and in numerous ways Baba has shown this very fact that He is ever-present and always along with us. He is always moving and wherever we go then He will also be there. Parama Purusa has infinite attributions and one of them is this special quality where He always remains along with us wherever we are in this vast universe. In this way He is known as - Aja'na' Pathik. In true sense, as the omnipresent Entity, He does not go anywhere because He is everywhere; but in a more literal manner He goes from place to place.

Those who use ‘Unknown Traveler’ or ‘Unknown Tourist’ in place of Aja'na' Pathik are naive and ignorant.

What is ota-prota yoga - 1

[2] Ota-Prota Yoga: By way of analogy we can best understand this term. Suppose a mother has five children. When she loves any one of them individually then that is akin to her ota yoga relation with that particular child. She has this type of ota yoga relation with each and every one of her children on a personal, individual level. In contrast, when that same mother loves and cares for her five children all together as a whole, collective family then that is akin to prota yoga.

Similarly, Parama Purusa has an individual loving relation with every bhakta on a personal, individual level. Whatever that bhakta thinks and says then Parama Purusa lovingly listens and cares for that bhakta. So that is the very personal relation of ota yoga. And when He thinks about the entire creation and the welfare of all at the same time, then that connection is prota yog

In their own personal life, every bhakta should appreciate Parama Purusa’s relation as ota yoga - i.e. a very intimate, personal link; whereas, lower grade bhaktas relate more to Parama Purusa via His approach of prota yoga.

In Subhasita Samgraha part 17 (Gwalior DMC in 1984), Baba has given the meaning of ota yoga and prota yoga in English. Ota yoga is "individual tactuality" between Parama Purusa and the unit entity; and, prota yoga is "collective tactuality" between Parama Purusa and all the entities, simultaneously.

The above definition describes the intimate relation between Parama Purusa and His jiivas through His ota & prota yoga. This same term has been explained in a slightly different manner in the following discourse.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "What is ota-yoga? He as the Cosmic Father has a direct relationship with each and every entity of this world...All are His affectionate children. This is His ota-yoga. Each and every entity, animate or inanimate, has a direct link with Him. Just as ota yoga means the Cosmic Father's relationship with each entity individually, prota yoga means His relationship with all collectively." (1)

And here is more about ota-prota yoga:

What is ota-prota yoga - 2

Otahprotah yogábhyáḿ saḿyuktah Puruśottamah.

[Puruśottama is linked to each entity individually and to all entities collectively.]

Ananda Sutram Purport: Puruśottama, the Nucleus of the universe, is the witness of and is directly concerned with every unit entity. This association of His is called ota yoga [the yoga of individual association]. Evidently Puruśottama is the collective entity of the universe as well as witness of the collective mind. This association of His with the collectivity is called prota yoga [the yoga of pervasive association]. In other words, it may be said that the one who is associated with His objects through both ota and prota yogas at the same time is Puruśottama. (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Suppose there is a virtuous discussion going on somewhere. If you invite two hundred people to this discussion, you will find that only sixty invitees have turned up, at the most. Out of these participants about ten or twelve people at most listen with patience and bhakti to the talks; and out of these listeners, only some properly understand the subject discussed. Then again, out of this small group that has understood, only a very few may retain in their minds what they have understood. Lastly, only one or two persons of this last group may practice in their daily lives what they have learnt and understood. This is only due to the clash between vidyá and avidyá in the mind, and in this clash the triumph of avidyá or the extroversive force means running from the introversive bent of vidyá. It is because of the saḿskaras of animality that the introversive momentum is rare in the average human mind. The sensuous desires of avidyá continue to infiltrate into every thought process. Such a situation continues for a long time in a sádhaka’s life.” (3)

Varábhaya mudrá works

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Suppose the Sadguru is saying something, and the deaf or dumb man wants to hear it but cannot. If one concentrates the mind on varábhaya mudrá, there will be the direct effect of positive microvita on the auricular or other nerve cells and also on the controlling cells, and it may be that all of a sudden he may get back the power of hearing. One should look towards these two mudrás and not to anything else. Microvita are radiated through these two mudrás. This is the inner secret.” (4)

Minimum requirements & special amenities

Prout philosophy states, “Diversity is the law of nature. So there cannot be any hard and fast rule about guaranteed minimum requirements. They will vary according to time, space and person. A few persons with extraordinary physical, metaphysical or intellectual ability may demand something more than ordinary people. Special amenities have to be provided for them. Certain items like food, housing, education, clothing and medical facilities are minimum requirements.”

“Nothing is stationary; everything is moving. So the minimum requirements and special amenities will also undergo changes with the changes in time, space and person. What should be the approach of Proutists? There should be a never-ending endeavour to minimize the gap between minimum requirements and special amenities. Minimum requirements will take the place of special amenities and extraordinary persons will get more items as special amenities.”

“The third Five Year Plan prepared by the planning commission of India presents an unwholesome picture – it presents unsystematic and unplanned government activities and the planned exploitation by vested interests. Though there has been inordinately high investment, the purchasing power of labourers has not been sufficient for them to meet the minimum requirements. Hence, while on the one hand labourers received less consumable goods due to less purchasing power, on the other hand entrepreneurs have captured excessive purchasing power and consumable goods causing excessive disparities in wealth. Economic balance has been upset. The major part of the capital investment went to the entrepreneurs and a microscopic fraction went to the labourers. There is therefore no middle class people in India of the type that existed in pre-independence days. Today well-dressed labourers have become the so-called middle class.” (1)
