Why some Wts are cowards

Baba has blessed us with a clear vision of justice. Most every margii and Wt can recognise right from wrong. It is not difficult to figure out. Sadly, some fail to act accordingly and uphold the ideology due to a particular attachment (post, place, status etc), and this brings about their downfall. Here we highlight the case studies of a few Wts to make the matter clear.
An unfortunate & tragic trend
First let’s examine the general rule because this type of event has unfortunately been a common occurrence since 1990:
- #1: Suppose Dada Z clearly understands that the ruling administration is in the wrong, i.e. tearing down ideological tenets, and exploiting and victimising innocent margiis and Wts.
- #2: But Dada Z does not want to speak out against the group in power because he currently holds a prominent post in their regime.
- #3: And Dada Z knows that if he were to oppose the unideological activities and injustices of the administration, then he would certainly lose his favoured post.
- #4: So Dada Z instead becomes a tool of that administration, defending their unjust dealings and lashing out against any righteous margiis or Wts who oppose the administration’s wrongdoing.
- #5: Up to this point, Dada Z thinks that the trade-off is a good one. He tolerates the administration’s unjust tenure and in exchange he is allowed to keep his cherished post and status.
- #6: But then comes the real kicker. Dada Z loses his post, his reputation, and so much more as Dada Z’s entire existence comes crashing down. All because of his petty attachment. So neither could he stand for ideology nor could he keep his post and status. Everything was lost.
Unfortunately, there are a number of Wts who have been in the position of Dada Z. They know some wrongdoing is going on. They do not like that injustice. But they are unwilling to courageously step forward and oppose those group leaders as they are fearful of losing their post, house, prestige etc. And in each instance, they fail to realise the inevitable. Due to their selfish attachment, they meet their ruination.

A few case studies:
lost ideology & worldly status, & some died
Now let’s look at a few, key case studies. By this way hopefully others will learn and not meet the same future.
#1: There was one Dada who was well aware of how a top group leader was doing evil and unjust actions, and ruining Sadguru Baba’s scripture. Yet this Dada was keen to keep his hut in Ananda Nagar. Dada thought that he would live out his days in that abode so there was no need to speak out against the top group leader’s adharmic evil and unjust actions. Rather, openly opposing the group leader would mean losing his hut. So the Dada kept mum and tried to stay in the group leader’s good book. But alas, within a short time, the Dada lost his chosen abode, was forced into exile, and made to live out his days alone, without proper care.
#2: Then there was another Dada who knew all about a different factional tyrant’s devious and unideological tactics. Yet this Dada was deeply attached with his post, i.e. Public Relations Secretary (PRS, H group). So although Dada was nauseated by the factional head’s grotesque working style and how he allowed GS Dada to allegedly keep numerous girlie relations, this Dada swallowed everything and kept quiet. And he would threaten and torture good margiis and Wts who opposed Centre. All because he was so keen to keep his post as PRS H group. For this reason he was a “good soldier” for the top factional post holder. However, in a short time, this Dada was unceremoniously removed from his post as PRS H group. How ironic: the Dada gave up dharma for his petty attachment to post and then he ended up losing that post anyway. And in the end neither he had dharma nor his post and worldly status. In shock, he became gravely ill and died.
#3: Then there was another Dada who held one prestigious post at AMIT in Ananda Nagar. He pledged his allegiance to the leading faction in hopes of keeping his cherished post. Day in and day out, week after week, this Dada turned a blind eye to the various injustices in Centre and how they were exploiting margiis etc. All because he wanted to keep his living quarters and post in Ananda Nagar. For this reason he acted as one sycophant even though in his heart he knew he was compromising with the devil. The end result is that one day they unceremoniously removed this Dada from his favoured post. So Dada suffered a double loss. He missed out on the opportunity to stand for dharma and he could not keep his favourite post.
#4: Some select family margiis are also in this position. Some BPs are keen to keep their post so they are unwilling to oppose the misdeeds of top Dadas. Those margiis think that if they oppose the injustices by Centre etc, then surely they will lose their BP-ship. So they keep quiet and turn the other way, even though they are aware of the wrongful dealings. Yet in the end they lose their BP ship and regret how they could not make a righteous stand.
Sadly these events have happened in the past, are happening now, and will happen in the future also. That is why every Ananda Margii - whether Wt or family margii - should be vigilant to stick to the code of dharma, and not compromise with wrongdoing for the sake of some petty gain.

Hypocrites’ psychology
In the above cases, and so many others like them, the central player internally knows that injustices are going on but for their comfort, safety, and post, they overlook those wrongdoings. By this way they obliterate the ideology and annihilate the feeling of their heart. And the grip of those ruling demons gets more tight. All in all it is a pathetic situation. Due to their petty attachment and greed for post etc, that Wt supports the demons fully knowing that they are going against dharma. That is the sinful nature of such hypocrites. And in the end they lose double: Invariably their cherished post or property etc is snatched away and they lose the opportunity to follow dharma. The final outcome is either their psychic or physical death, as they become just one shell of a human being.
The only reason for becoming a Wt is to live a life based on the ideology. Without that, remaining as a Wt is useless, rather harmful. So every wholetimer worker should be strict in all ideological principles and never compromise on those ideals.

How they threaten Wts
There are many Wts who are kind-hearted and want to follow a dharmic way of living. Yet when faced with pressure from the demonic forces, they fold. Most commonly those demons or their stooges threaten innocent workers that if they fail to support those unideological dealings they will be expelled from the organisation, or some other horrible consequence. This is the card that those tyrant Wts and their stooges use. When confronted in this way, many simple Wts capitulate and surrender, and fail to live up to high principles of an ideological life. Sadly, instead of saving themselves, those simple Wts invite their ruination. They wholly forget that only dharma can save them.

Ananda Vanii states, “Today all over the world, a grim fight has started between the evil forces and the benevolent forces. Only those who possess the moral courage to fight against the evil forces, can give a soothing touch to the struggle-torn earth with the balm of peace. Remember you are spiritual aspirants. Hence you alone shall have to undertake the mighty task of saving the earth.” (1)

Here is an English summary of Sadguru Baba’s the above Hindi teaching:
If our own person or relative deviates from the truth or is lacking sincerity, oppose him. Do not tolerate him. It does not matter if he is our own relative. If our own person is dishonest and insincere then he is more dangerous. Just as a snake inside the house is more dangerous than a snake that is outside the house. Therefore he [our close person] should be opposed more strongly.
In His above guideline Baba explains that bad elements in society are
dangerous, but bad elements inside your house - inside your organisation
- are more dangerous. Do not tolerate them, benevolently oppose them.
So they can rectify their ways and become an asset to our Ananda Marga
society.

Reclassification of psychology
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "According to general belief, psychology is a part of general science, and should therefore not be included as a part of philosophy. Thus psychology has been accepted as a branch of science in the West. But in A'nanda Ma'rga, psychology has been included as a part of philosophy. Moreover, according to A'nanda Ma'rga the scope of psychology is wider than what is usually accepted by psychologists." (1)
Note: Often we find in the west that psychology is taken as an intellectually dry subject, or some utopian idea, or something that does not have a link with our higher Self. Universities commonly categorise psychology as one of the social sciences. This started primarily because the western approach to psychology is dry - i.e. aspiritual. It does not have any link with the Supreme Entity. In true sense, the western approach towards psychology lacks sweetness and spiritual feeling. Perhaps that explains why we find that many western psychologists lead imbalanced lives.
In contrast, Baba's teachings in His book "Yoga Psychology" are completely different. This subject is not a purely intellectual study, but a practical approach that is deeply connected with spiritual life. So it is our duty to remove the confusion in the minds of non-margiis about the subject of "psychology" and give it its rightful place.

Why exploited people demanding to leave or depressed
Following is a concentrated review which gives a picture of the present-day exploitation that is going on across the planet. It is obvious, both in the European Union and the US, that technologically advanced areas / countries are exploiting the “backwards” provinces or “backwards” countries. That is why downtrodden areas (province or country) are frustrated and depressed. Because they see what the wealthy exploiters are doing.
Take the case of the US. The eastern and western coasts of the US are extremely rich while the rural middle part the country is comparatively poor and depressed. In the economic arena, the coastal cities are the victors and the rural areas are the losers. This same formula works in India or any so-called developing or developed country. That is why many wish to leave the European Union, and that is why the economic situation of those in the central, rural areas of the US are in terrible despair. This is a world-wide phenomena. Please pay special attention to the yellow highlighted lines below.
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Motivated by socio-sentiment, one social group tries to forcibly dominate another group, with the intention that “We will utilize the exploited group or their land” – here the group is more important than the land – “as a source of raw materials. The finished products will be manufactured within our area, and then we will utilize the exploited country as the market for our goods.””
“What can the financially-handicapped groups do in this situation? They are forced to enslave themselves to the powerful countries or groups because of their fear complex born of their impotence or poverty. And what is the outcome of such slavery?”
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In the next phase, the exploited painfully find themselves reduced to the position of suppliers of raw materials and purchasers of finished products. They are economically ruined. Such things happen as a result of both psycho-economic exploitation and politico-economic exploitation. Intelligent people should analyse this carefully.”
“When this exploitation is perpetrated by the application of brute force, it is politico-economic exploitation; but when it is done not through brute force but through the application of cunning intellectual strategy, it is primarily psycho-economic exploitation.”
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Now, whatever may be the nature of this psycho-economic or politico-economic exploitation, its inevitable outcome is that the exploiters not only exploit the people directly or indirectly, but also govern them. This makes the exploitation easier for the rulers.” (1)
