Finally Accused Sarvatmananda and 7 others were sent into Jail for gruesome murder of Ac. Abhipremananda Avt.
On 18th September, 2003 Acarya Abhipremananda Avadhuta was murdered at Anandanagar, WB, India and many others were seriously injured and some even lost their organs. Ac. Shyamananda Avt is still paralyzed and hanging between life and death since then.
Those who were involved with this gruesome murder have so far been moving freely.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday, however, made absolute its September 22, 2014 order rejecting anticipatory bail to Sarvatmananda and others, in this gruesome murder case, and directed the accused to surrender to the Police Authorities, PS Joypur, Dist Purulia within 15.5.2015 by 10 a.m. If, for any reason, they fail to comply with the order and directions issued by this court, Supreme Court directed the Police authorities to arrest them and take them into custody forthwith.
Hon. Justice H.L. Dattu Chief Justice of India and 2 other judges passed the said order after the accused failed to surrender pursuant to Supreme Court order dated 22.9.2014. Justice Mr. Dattu remarked that it has been brought to the notice of this court that, in spite of the stay of the interim order, neither the accused have surrendered before the police authority nor police authorities have taken any steps to take them into custody. So the Court further directed the District Superintendent of Police, District Purulia, to file an appropriate report before this Court on 15.05. 2015 itself, by 4.30 p.m.
If, for any reason, there is a failure to comply with Supreme Court order and directions, the Order mentions that the Court will view it very seriously.
Pursuant to this order of the Apex Court, Joypur Police arrested the eight accused in the “Abhipremananda Murder Case” and took Sarvatmananda, Sarveshvarananda, Mantreshvarananda, Bhaveshananda, Vitamohananda, Haratmananda, Raviishananda and Tanmayananda into custody.
