Note: This letter concerns the recent lewd behaviour of one Wt, and how, in response, one innocent youth was wrongly blamed.

In
our Ananda Marga, conduct is everything, especially for our Wts. Every
Ananda Margii knows that Baba places maximum importance on the point of
conduct.
Ananda
Marga ideology guides us, "Acárańát páthayati yah sah ácáryah – “One
who teaches through one's conduct is an ácárya.” If one's conduct is not
exemplary, he or she is not an ácárya/á." (1)
Verily,
there is no doubt about it. Conduct is the key point in our Ananda
Marga way of life, and our Wts are to lead the march in this regard.
Their conduct must be exemplary. And Baba was especially strict on
sexual incidents. When a Wt was indulged sexually, then that was dealt
with on a completely different order of magnitude. On all such affairs,
Baba was very, very stern.

Punished the witness not the wrongdoer
When
the news erupted recently about the lewd antics of Dada Puspendrananda,
it should have sent off alarm bells that an intervention was needed.
(Note:
For those not aware, some weeks back Puspendrananda was lying down in
the Ranchi jagrti talking to his GF on a video sex call and showing her
his erect member. It was a classic case of phone sex. Write to us if you

When
Dada ji was indulged in such a compromised condition then what was the
need of the day? The supervisory workers in charge of Puspendrananda
should have intervened and worked towards rectifying / punishing
Puspendrananda with the greater goal of bringing him back onto the path
of dharma and leading the life of a true Wt. Had our AMPS organisation
been in proper working order, that would have been the appropriate
course of action.
Instead
something radically different happened. Rudrananda ordered his top
stooges to heinously target the innocent margii student who unwittingly
witnessed Dada ji's grotesque behaviour. Verily they kicked this margii
student out of the jagrti. The margii student had been living there and
renting a room while pursuing his studies. But now Rudrananda and his
lackeys booted him out, when in fact the real perpetrator was
Puspendrananda. After all, it was Puspendrananda who violated all kinds
of Wt conduct rules by his debased actions, whereas the innocent margii
student was merely trying to get back to his rented room in the jagrti.
Not only that, Rudrananda has given the green light to his sycophants to
pursue legal proceedings against that student.

Marga ideology guides us, "If you cannot learn anything from the
conduct and behaviour of a certain person, why should you accept that
person as an ácárya/á?" (2)
Some ramifications
Here are a few of the many ramifications of this sad, tragic, and debased incident.

#1: Puspendrananda feels emboldened to continue in his depraved ways, thereby sending him deeper into the clutches of avidya maya.
#2:
It sends a message to other Wts that if they pay big tithes to
Rudrananda and do his dirty work then they too can lead depraved,
indulgent lives without any fear of losing their organisational status
and post.
#3:
That youth who was booted from the jagrti will certainly feel that AMPS
is a dirty and corrupt organisation wherein innocent and good people
are taken to task for doing the right thing. Already, we have an issue
wherein margii children are not keen to be active members of our AMPS,
and this only exacerbates the problem.
#4:
That innocent student who was unjustly targeted and railroaded out of
the jagrti will invariably recount his experience to his peers who will
steer clear of our AMPS and AM way of life. We are in dire need of a
youth movement in our Marga, and this will undermine that.
And
verily there are many other wrongs and offshoots to this type of loose
canon behaviour where the indulged Wt is protected by organisational
heads while an innocent youth is targeted and attacked.
Conclusion
AMPS
was built to be a dharmic organisation but now the reins are in the
hands of adharmikas, i.e. devilish people. The result is that depraved
people are rewarded, and good people are chastised, victimised,
scapegoated, and made to suffer. The recent incident at the Ranchi
jagrit further slants the tables in this direction.

conduct rule: “Avadhuta must not engage his ears in hearing obscene
language or song, touch any rajasika articles, see any depraving entity
or picture, or go through any story, novel or picture having even a
slight bit of sexual importance...All avadhutas should learn this mantra
by heart: O Bhiks´u, O monk. Control your eyes, hearing, smell, tongue
(taste), body, lips (speech) and mind. You should have all-round
restraint, then you will overcome all pain." (3)

conduct rule: "Avadhuta will always keep himself engaged in service of
Gurudeva with sincerity and devotion in thought, word and deed, in
subtle and crude spheres, in inner and outer expressions of life." (4)
Wt conduct rule: "Under no circumstances should the purity of the mind and body be polluted." (5)
Wt conduct rule: "You will protect yourself from sexual weakness and luxury." (6)
