Decoy Kiirtan + 2 more

Decoy kiirtan

Namaskar,

When a fisherman wants to catch some fish he knows that if he goes and sits nearby the pond and cries out, “Hey fish, come over here”, then the fish will not come. So the fisherman uses some bait on a hook. The fish is enticed by the bait thinking it to be food. Due to its naivety the fish eats the decoy and gets trapped. A similar thing happens in the case of the farmer and the mouse. The mouse cannot understand that the food is in a trap. So the mouse gets caught. Poachers use deception to catch elephants. Those poachers dig a big pit and cover it with branches and leaves, and then place put some food on top. The elephant cannot detect that it is a trap so it goes after the food and falls in the pit and poachers kill it.

Forced to commit veritable sin

In the above three cases, the fish, mouse, and elephant think that someone is being generous by offering wonderful delicacies. So they go after the food and get arrested, even killed. In this process, there are three operative factors: (a) ignorance, (b) trust, and (c) the betrayal of trust. The fish, mouse, and elephant fail to realise that the food is not a generous offering but rather part of a deadly trap. So their trust is betrayed and they are killed.

Nowadays, one group is putting out bait and some margiis are trusting that it is genuine kiirtan but that is not the case. It is bait, not kiirtan. They are just trying to lure a crowd to celebrate the annual death day and trap them. Those who are alert will run away by seeing the decoy. They will understand  the situation and will not get arrested. Whereas simple people do not understand that this is bait and they get trapped and are forced to commit veritable sin. Participating in an annual shraddha ceremony or an annual death day celebration is against Baba’s pre-1990 Caryacarya.

Can you imagine being trapped and cajoled into committing an act that is against bhagavad dharma, i.e. Guru's teachings. Watch out - our sole duty is (a) not to get trapped and (b) save innocent margiis from getting lured like those three animals. After all, animals are animals and we are humans. We should be able to understand the difference between real food and bait food - real kiirtan and bait kiirtan. Surely, every margii has the requisite vivek or common sense. So watch out. By seeing the bait, best is to run away from the scene otherwise you will be trapped.

Trap margiis to join dogmatic MPD commemoration

Each year at a particular time, one group embarks on their strategy and kiirtan ploy. They announce again and again how they will be holding a kiirtan program the third week of October, and their whole goal is to catch margiis - luring them to attend their dogmatic mahaprayan (MPD) commemoration. This is their favoured tactic: Using kiirtan as bait to disguise their mahaprayan gathering. So this is not a spiritual scene but a political ploy. B group wants to get people to join their dogmatic MPD program in whatever way they can. This type of approach is indicative of a team resorting to desperate methods to save their sinking ship - i.e. their dogmatic mahaprayan observance, by an external show of kiirtan.

Decoy of liquor and cigarette companies

In the case of fishermen, trappers, and hunters, the bait they set gets many animals trapped. That is the tragic fate of those animals. And in the general society we that that alcohol and tobacco industries adeptly use liquor and cigarettes to lure and trap members of the general public. In result, many naive persons get addicted to those vices etc. But we do not expect Ananda Margiis to get trapped in that way. Because with a developed conscience, margiis and wts can easily detect the ploy; they will not get trapped or duped by any lure. That is the defining quality of true human beings. That is why the attendance at mahaprayan is less and less each year. Those few who get trapped into going expose their mental standard.

How Muslims used to increase their following

Even then this group remains dogged in their attempts and repeatedly embark on their tactical plan to lure maximum margiis to their dogmatic MPD observance. Some  may not event want to attend mahaprayan per se, but get psychologically pressured into participating in some way. After all, there is a growing mass of margiis who do not want to be associated with the MPD kiirtan dogma. But some get lured and psychologically pressured to participate in that 6-day dogmatic mahaprayan kiirtan. If they refuse to participate they may face tremendous indirect pressure. So every Ananda Margii should be aware ahead of time: Recognise the trap and make the mind firm not to support this dogma.

Bear in mind that Muslims used to increase their following by converting worshipers at Hindu feasts. Their special plan was to pour water from their badna (water vessels or pots) on random Hindus. Immediately those Hindus would be ostracised by the prevailing Hindu mass and forced into converting to Islam. This is the way Muslims increased their numbers in India. This was their special strategy.

Likewise Tiljala is employing similar tactics to increase their membership.
1) They are going from door to door - town to town - hoping to lure people in using kiirtan.
2) In the past they focused on Prabhat Samgiita cultural programs as their drawing card.

Kiirtan is a lure to draw people to MPD

So B group wants to lure attendees for their dogmatic MPD program, in whatever way they can. This type of approach is indicative of a team resorting to desperate methods to save their sinking ship - i.e. their dogmatic mahaprayan observance. True bhaktas are not going to participate in an annual death ceremony which is against pre-1990 Caryacarya.

Ananda Marga is dharma. We do not support any type of annual death day ceremony like mahaprayan. Yet those in B group will try to lure you in the guise of kiirtan. Do not get befooled. With your keen intellect, recognise a spade as a spade. Know that their 6-day kiirtan stunt is just a way to dupe you into attending their dogmatic mahaprayan function. So be alert - then you will not be lured by their trickery. Remember, B group’s motivation is not kiirtan; their sole agenda is to advance their dogmatic program of mahaprayan.

Conclusion

Mahaprayan is an annual death day ceremony where kiirtan is used as a decoy to attract naive persons to their dogmatic death day gathering. But remember, annual death day programs like mahaprayan are forbidden by Carycarya, and stand as a veritable sin.

What to do when our forefathers have done wrong

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Suppose, in the past, your forefathers made some mistakes. Should we then think, "Our ancestors did this, so how can we not do this as well?" This type of mentality is dogmatic. Now, "Since our forefathers have made these errors, so we will also do those same wrongs." What type of argument is this? If our forefathers have done wrong then we should also commit those same mistakes?"
Ananda Marga ideology says, "If you have real 'shraddha' (reverence) for your forefathers then the errors done by them must be corrected immediately. When people realize any error, should it not be corrected? So, as soon as the wrongs done by the forefathers are rectified, the more shraddha is bestowed upon them. The only way to pay shraddha (homage) to one’s forefathers is to rectify their errors. In so doing, we pay their debt; we pay the "pitra rin". Is this not real shraddha?" Therefore the mentality, "As these acts have been done by my forefathers or the people of past, so we will also do these things", is termed as dogma." (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, “তোমরাও মনে রাখৰে---”Dogma No More, No More !”

External show of ritualistic worship + free liquor & cigarette samples

In India, if anyone wants to capture any public property, they erect an elephant god or monkey god statue on that land and create some type of pseudo-temple. Similar efforts can be done using a mosque or church as well. Basically, if in the name of religion, anyone starts performing rituals on public land, they will surely gain hold of that property. This is their strategy of encroachment - all done under the umbrella of pseudo-religious worship. And that’s one of the main reasons why in India there are countless religious sites, temples, mosques, and holy sites etc. All along their inner motive was to capture the land by an external show of ritualistic worship. But this strategy is not limited to the religious sphere.

The other day in my town one large liquor company was distributing free liquor in hopes of expanding their customer base. And a friend of mine told me a cigarette company was doing the same type of strategy in his town - free cigarettes to gain more customers. In both instances, the companies were experiencing a stark decline in the sales of their products so they gave away tons of free samples to enhance future sales. Their inner motive was to increase their customer base by an external show of generosity. And verily there are many companies that engage in giving away free samples to attract more future buyers. This is a common business strategy.

And B group uses the same strategy. They offer bait kiirtan to draw people to their dogmatic annual death day mahaprayan program.

How capitalism is a psychic disease

“Human expressions are trifarious. Human beings have unquenchable, infinite physical longings and out of these physical longings capitalism came into existence. Capitalists toil day and night for money. This may be a natural desire but physical objectivity is finite, hence the infinite desire to accumulate finite physical objects is a psychic ailment.”

“Human beings also have unquenchable, infinite psychic longings, and out of these excessive psychic longings psychic ailments arise and people become abnormal. The object of psychic longings associated with physicalities is also finite, but the object of pure psychic longing is infinite. Your psychic body and physical objectivity are always separate and so the seed of dualism arises. But the attainment of spiritual objectivity means bridging the gulf between the self and the object, and in this attainment lies peace. The psychic ailments mentioned above also lead to clash with others and create many have-nots. We have to divert physical longings to psychic and spiritual longings to avoid a fratricidal war, and thereby safeguard human rights.” (1)
