Namaskar,
The mahaprayan divas (MPD) dogma is bad, which is why margiis do not like to take part. So now the organisers are considering repacking this program with a new name.
Once again some are considering changing the name of the dogmatic mahaprayan Mahaprayana (MPD) program as if simply changing the name would increase its integrity.
But Ananda Marga dharmikas will not be swayed.
Whatever the name, so-called mahaprayan is inherently flawed because of its very origin. Changing the name to "samkalpa divas" is just one public relations ploy and will not enhance the intrinsic value. So-called mahaprayan is a dogma based on dogma and it will always be a dogma - regardless of the name of the program.
So no one should be duped by the campaign to call mahaprayan Mahaprayana divas as samkalpa divas - as if that will make everything alright. The program itself is dogmatic - regardless of the name.
All in all, it is just like how some shady politicians refer to the bribes they receive as financial gifts. But no matter what term they use, still it is a bribe. Or it is just like how illegal drug dealers refer to their shop as a flower shop - when in fact all they are selling is illicit narcotics etc.
Similarly no matter how much some try to paint the so-called (MPD) program as a devotional gathering by changing the name or repackaging it in some way, still it will be so-called mahaprayan - a dogmatic occasion.
After all, fact is fact; there is no way to escape it.
So-called mahaprayan is based on the dogma that Baba is gone and even the organisers openly describe it as a somber and sorrowful occasion.
Plus in the early years of the so-called mahaprayan observance, the shraddhanjali (death ceremony mantra) was recited; and, over the years food has generally been widely distributed just like in the Hindu custom for any funeral.
So in all kinds of ways, the so-called mahaprayan is nothing but a death day event - a day of dogmatic worship which proclaims that Sadguru is gone.
When we know that the eternal truth is that Sadguru lives in the hearts of devotees.
"I (Baba) am always eternally present in Vrindavan, in the hearts of devotees. That is Guru cakra. I do not go even a little away from that. I am eternally present along with the devotees." (1)
See here how the so-called mahaprayan program has been described over the years by the organisers.
These examples furthermore reveal the nature of their MPD program. So changing the name will not make it any different from what it really is.
(A) They call MPD a "solemn observation" when "Baba left this world". So in their heart of hearts this is a sad day for them and they have admitted that they feel Baba is gone. That is why no matter what they call it, so-called mahaprayan is nothing but a dogmatic observance, and not any type of devotional gathering.
(B) Secondly, the worshippers of mahaprayan do naryan seva (mass feeding) on this day, just as dogmatic Hindus do on their death day anniversary observances.
See how the organisers of MPD have described the event:
"The distribution of clothes to the poor of the locality and free feeding of thousands from amongst the poverty stricken followed."
And indeed the whole world knows that on any death day ceremony then ritualistic Hindus always distribute food to the poor. This is how the sorrowful death day is observed - all done to help the deceased get a spot in heaven (svarga). And this same ritual has consistently been done during so-called mahaprayan, and in the name of samkalpa divas etc.
(C) Just as people line up to pay their respects to the deceased, similarly the worshippers of so-called mahaprayan do the same thing.
See here how the organisers of MPD have described the event:
"[People] lined up to pay their heartfelt regards to the Samadhi [tombstone] of their Dearest Guru."
Why do they write like this? Because in their heart and mind they think that Sadguru is gone and mahaprayan is nothing but one death day ceremony.
They may try to call it "samkalpa divas", or label it as some kind of devotional program but those with eyes to see understand that it is nothing but a dogmatic death day event.
Here Baba exposes the mentality behind those organisers of the dogmatic Mahaprayan gathering.
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Human beings yield to this dogma with the sole intention of attaining selfish pleasures; even educated people knowingly submit to dogma. They know that they are surrendering their intellect to dogma, and that the outcome will be undesirable; they know and understand everything - why, even then, do they knowingly submit to it? They are all deliberate sinners and intentionally accept dogmas as truth. They observe that these dogmas are based on a´tma-sukha tattva; but they think, "I don't care whether it does good or harm to others, because at least I have got some pleasure out of it!" Being motivated by this idea, they enslave themselves to dogmas." (2)
Some of the organisers think if they can make money from this event then that satisfies their selfish desire. Plus by proclaiming that Baba is gone then they can make up their own rules to exploit margiis. And that is what we have seen happening since 1990.
That is why margiis around the globe are outrightly rejecting the so-called mahaprayan program as they know it is just one sinful and dogmatic occasion. No matter how the organisers attempt to package it - i.e. "samkalpa divas" etc - still it will be one dogma.
Just as a bribe will always be a bribe, i.e. something illegal, regardless if some call it a financial gift. Same is the situation with so-called mahaprayan Mahaprayana. No matter how it is decorated or labeled, so-called mahaprayan will always be done one dogma.
Parama Purusa Baba states, "Should one dogma be replaced by another dogma of the same order or of another order? Should a dogma of a positive order be replaced by a dogma of a positive order or by a dogma of a negative order? A dogma is an illogical, irrational sentiment. All dogma must be replaced by non-dogma." (3)
After reading Baba's above guideline we should be pointed about this below query:
Should MPD Mahaprayana dogma be replaced by Samkalpa Divas or oath dogma? No.

"The first thing is that this kulakuńd́alinii rises slowly from the múládhára cakra to the sahasrára cakra in eight steps, it passes through eight cakras, and the sahasrára cakra is the ninth. Just below the sahasrára cakra is the guru cakra. When one meditates at the guru cakra, the kuńd́alinii takes one jump upwards, and the mind goes to the other side of the cakra [i.e., to the sahasrára.] This is the technique of sádhaná, but it has previously neither been explained nor written in books."
"The kulakuńd́alinii rises upward in eight jumps or phases, so with two syllables in a siddha mantra, the kuńd́alinii will jump four times. But a general, or publicly-given, siddha mantra will make the kulakuńd́alinii jump eight times or in eight phases. That is why such a siddha mantra has eight syllables. So you should understand that a proper kiirtana must have eight syllables, never seven or nine syllables.." (DKG, p.22)
Note 1: This was the prevalent dogma in the past in India that so-called gurus of the past did not like to share their all their knowledge or reveal all of their techniques to their disciples. They were thinking they should keep something 'special' for themselves otherwise their prestige and own value will be lost. So they withheld certain teachings and they died with those special techniques.
In that case, their disciples only got 99% or so of what the guru had - not everything, not that last 1%. Gradually then from one generation to the next 1% kept getting withheld until finally everything got completely diluted.
And now in places like India in the name of spirituality, only dogma is left. This is the reason why: The withholiding of vital information. This applies to other fields as well such as medicine etc. This same type of withholding of information and technique occurs in many fields. All done by selfish people to "enhance" their prestige. When, in truth, it undermines their greatness. This dogma and defective way must be stopped.
Note 2: Baba has given the idea in Namah Shivaya Shantaya that when one gets proper students who are eager and capable, then in that case tell them everything. Do not withhold any information or keep anything secret. That will be disservice to the society.

Mahaprayan: WHY NOT SAMKALPA DIVAS
Namaskar,
The mahaprayan divas (MPD) dogma is bad, which is why margiis do not like to take part. So now the organisers are considering repacking this program with a new name.
PLOY OF NAME-CHANGING
Once again some are considering changing the name of the dogmatic mahaprayan Mahaprayana (MPD) program as if simply changing the name would increase its integrity.

OLD DOGMA NEW NAME
All in all, it is just like how some shady politicians refer to the bribes they receive as financial gifts. But no matter what term they use, still it is a bribe. "I (Baba) am always eternally present in Vrindavan, in the hearts of devotees. That is Guru cakra. I do not go even a little away from that. I am eternally present along with the devotees." (1)
WHY DOGMATIC OBSERVANCE
See here how the so-called mahaprayan program has been described over the years by the organisers.
These examples furthermore reveal the nature of their MPD program. So changing the name will not make it any different from what it really is.
(A) They call MPD a "solemn observation" when "Baba left this world". So in their heart of hearts this is a sad day for them and they have admitted that they feel Baba is gone. They may try to call it "samkalpa divas", or label it as some kind of devotional program but those with eyes to see understand that it is nothing but a dogmatic death day event.
INTENTION OF ATTAINING SELFISH PLEASURES
Here Baba exposes the mentality behind those organisers of the dogmatic Mahaprayan gathering.
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Human beings yield to this dogma with the sole intention of attaining selfish pleasures; even educated people knowingly submit to dogma. They know that they are surrendering their intellect to dogma, and that the outcome will be undesirable; they know and understand everything - why, even then, do they knowingly submit to it? LABELING IT AS SAMKALPA DIVAS WILL NOT DO
That is why margiis around the globe are outrightly rejecting the so-called mahaprayan program as they know it is just one sinful and dogmatic occasion. No matter how the organisers attempt to package it - i.e. "samkalpa divas" etc - still it will be one dogma.

DOGMA MUST BE REPLACED BY NON-DOGMA

Should a dogma of a positive order be replaced by a dogma of a positive order or by a dogma of a negative order? A dogma is an illogical, irrational sentiment.
