Not real Ananda Nagar?
Namaskár,
A misinterpretation of Bába’s words - “Anandanagar is My home” - has been propagated via an article published in the issue #2 (year #37) of Ánanda Yuga magazine (see page 11). According to the author of the article, Bábá has chosen Ánandanagar (a physical place in India) as His abode. When Bábá says that Ánandanagar is His home He is not referring to the geographical place located in the Purulia district of India. However, people misunderstand that Bábá physically lives in the place called Ánandanagar situated in the Purulia district of India. In order to understand what Bábá truly means by His home being Ánandanagar, please read on.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/
Anandanagar is not merely the physical Anandanagar
Bábá is referring to His abode in a bhakta’s mind when He talks about Ánandanagar. The true Ánandanagar, which is His home, is the sahasrára cakra inside the human mind. He lives in the sahasrára cakra. Guru’s place is in the bhakta’s mind and heart - not some physical place on the crude planet earth.
Ánanda Márga philosophy says, “Anandanagar is the nucleus of this universe. It is not merely the physical Anandanagar, it is also the Anandanagar of our inner heart.” (1)
By following the systematic process of dhyána one can catch a glimpse of His magnificent presence in one’s own mind rather than in some physical place. Therefore, in this context (i.e., Bába’s words “Ánandanagar is My home”), it should be clearly understood by a bhakta that Anandanagar is not the following address:
Ananda NagarEven if one tries one’s best, the aforementioned address in Purulia district of India is not where one is going to find Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. One has to look inwards to the subtle Ánandanagar located at the sahasrára chakra to find Him.
P.O. Baglata, Dist Purulia
West Bengal, India
Other references to this spiritual abode are Vrindaban and Mathura. This is the abode of bliss or Ánanda. Even in the past, the name of a physical place associated with Táraka Brahma Krsna was used to refer to Sahasrára Chakra.
Ananda Marga Philosophy says - “Where is Hari [the Lord]? He is in Madhupur. “Madhupur” means the sahasrára cakra. In Vaeśńava Tantra, the sahasrára is “Madhupur”. From “Madhupur”, “Madhura” and “Mathura” have been derived. So Mathura is not only the town in Uttar Pradesh, it is also the sahasrára cakra.” (2)
Ánanda Yuga article propagates dogma
Unfortunately, one Dada is spreading the tiirtha dogma by glorifying the land of Ánanda Nagar as the revered home of Lord Shrii Shrii Ánandamurtij. People will begin to think that if they purchase a train ticket and go to Ánanda Nagar to touch the soil there they can touch Parama Puruśa. This kind of thinking is similar to the Hindu dogma of going to the so-called holy places like Kedárnáth, Vrndávana, and Mathurá to find god.

Ánanda Márga philosophy teaches, “People have been feeling this irresistible attraction towards pilgrimage since the time when the idea of God first sprouted in their minds, but naturally now the question arises, what is this tiirtha? The word tiirtha means “a place of pilgrimage”. Tiira + sthá + d́a = tiirastha [tiirtha]. Tiira means the shoreline, where the land and water touch each other. The sloping portion of the land which comes in contact with this tiira is called the beach. If a person takes one step from the shoreline towards the beach one will reach the dry land, and if a person takes one step towards the water, then one will enter the water. The tiirtha, which really means a place between the physical and spiritual worlds, is analogous to this geographical tiira.” (3)
Conclusion
Parama Puruśa is the Infinite Entity. He cannot be contained but is the container of all. Thus, the idea of limiting Parama Puruśa is ludicrous. The human mind cannot determine the boundaries of Brahma. Thus, the very idea of calling a specific physical place as the home of Bábá, the Infinite Entity, is incorrect. Acarya ji is spreading this dogmatic story via the Ánanda Marga magazine, Ánanda Yuga. The editorial staff of the Ánanda Yuga magazine should be checking the articles both for typographical and ideological errors which they have failed to do. In order to make our Ánanda Márga magazines pristine, please forward this posting to the respected editor of Ánanda Yuga magazine Dádá Guniindránanda.
At His Lotus Feet,
Bhakti

~ In-depth study ~
Below is a scan of the article published in Ánanda Yuga magazine. The
article shows a picture of the premises where Bábá sometimes lived a few
days in a year when He was manifesting His Liila in Mahasambhuti form,
and the magazine quotes Him - “आनन्दनगर मेरा घर है |” (“Anandanagar is
my home").
The above picture shows a scan of the article published in Ánanda Yuga magazine. The article depicts ‘Madhu Karniká’, the house where Bábá sometimes lived a few days in a year when He was manifesting His Liila in Mahasambhuti form. And the article quotes Bábá telling that Ánandanagar is His abode. This picture of the house gives an impression that Bábá can be found in this place and nowhere else.

Example of internal Ananda Nagar
Here below Baba is guiding us about the real, internal Anandanagar.
Ananda Marga Philosophy teaches us, “He is always lovingly calling people very, very close to Himself through the tanmátras. This is the central theme of mohana vijiṋána. That is, human beings are always moving, not in the Vrindavana of the physical world, but in the Vrindavana of the world of bháva. When Krśńa was in the Vrindavana of the physical world, there were both the physical Vrindavana and the spiritual Vrindavana.” (4)
Ananda Marga Philosophy guides us, “Today, for all His devotees, and even for His non-devotees, there is very much spiritual Vrindavana. And Lord Krśńa is always there, for He said, Vrndávanaḿ parityajya pádamekaḿ na gacchámi [“I won’t go anywhere, not even one step, from Vrindavana”]. This is not the terrestrial Vrindavana, but the Vrindavana of the devotee’s heart. In this Vrindavana, both the devotee and the Lord are there. They are playing the game of hide and seek – now He attracts the devotee, now He hides Himself. When the devotee rushes to Him, he or she discovers that the One who was attracting from behind the scenes was actually close at hand; and so he or she attains Him.” (5)

How requital of sin works
Namaskar,
In the following teachings noted below, Baba is talking about patakiis [ordinary sinners].
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Someone might have committed a pátaka [ordinary sin], but after that wrong action feels repentance, and compensates for the harm his or her action caused. After such repentance and compensation, the action is no longer a sin. Suppose someone has stolen a thousand rupees from someone else. If after this theft the thief feels compunction and returns the money – better, however, with the inclusion of interest thereon – and begs forgiveness, that will mean that the person’s sin has been washed away. The person should no longer be called a sinner." (1)
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "If, knowingly or unknowingly, you have committed any mistake or any sin [mental sin], then your repentance and your singing kiirtana, wholeheartedly, will free you from all sins. So, your future is always bright, never dark, never dark." (2)
In Him,
Devaprakash
Devotion & bhakti are not same
Sin and pa’pa are not the same thing. Sin means going against the fundamentals of the Bible, and pa’pa means those actions which harm others. So sin and pa’pa are not the same. However, as the term pa’pa is not so well known, in certain cases, Baba uses the term sin. But He has given the direction that step by step over time the term sin should be changed to pa’pa in Ananda Marga philosophy.
This is similar to the case of bhakti and devotion. For example, you may have devotion towards your spouse or pet, but it would be a gross mistake to say that one has bhakti for their spouse or pet. Unfortunately in India, due to lack of knowledge, people misuse the term bhakti, and they created the word desh-bhakti, meaning patriotism. But that is preposterous. Because the term bhakti means service to God. The root itself is spiritual. That is why it is wrong to use bhakti in the context of one’s motherland. Whereas the term devotion has a different origin. It means commitment and has no spiritual foundation. That is why Baba rejects the term devotion in favour of the word bhakti, and He wants His discourses updated accordingly. That is what He has described in a general darshan at Bhagalpur DMC in 1987.
With the fire of sadhana, i.e. practicing regular meditation, one’s sin is burned, bit by bit. The rate depends upon how committed one is in their sadhana. Those who are very sincere in sadhana can exhaust all their samskaras in approximately 20 years. That is what Baba has described in one discourse.
