Here we explore the importance of adhering to Guru’s order of fixing our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.

Keep strict vigilance

 
In His key chapter, “How to Live in the Society”, Baba guides us that it is our assigned duty to point out the negative actions of other Ananda Margiis - whether Wt's or family margiis. By this way, we can build up a monolithic Ananda Marga society - free from disease and defect.
 
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "All A'nanda Ma'rgis, when they see other Margis acting against the principles of yama and niyama, must make them shun this habit either by sweet or harsh words or by dealing even more strictly. Thus they will have to make the society strong." (1)
 
Pointing out the black spots is part and parcel of our Ananda Marga way of life. It is a mandatory duty for every person in our AMPS. Here is another of Baba's clear-cut mandates about pointing out.
 
Marga Guru says, "Henceforth I direct every Ananda Margi to keep strict vigilance on other Ananda Margiis to make them practise the principles of yama and niyama." (2)
 
There is no scope for anyone to claim that one cannot point out the defects of others in AMPS.

Passive benevolence is not good

 
Nobody has the right to say that pointing out should not be done.
 
Ananda Marga ideology states, “On the path of dharma, one is not only to do noble deeds; one must also fight against the dishonest people – both are virtuous actions.” (3)
 
According to Ananda Marga philosophy, pointing out wrongdoings is an essential element of our tantric way of life.
 
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The characteristic of good people is to fight against injustice, to firmly adhere to truth and righteousness, to protect the helpless and fight against all evil persons. Those who are merely simple and are of a meek and goody-goody nature are not good people.” (4)
 
Pointing out the defects makes the society strong. Every Ananda Margii has to be vigilant about this.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “There are many good people in the society – noble people engaged in noble deeds – who are not ready to fight against wrongs and injustices. This sort of passive benevolence does not really promote the cause of human progress in the world. What is desirable is to acquire virtue by doing noble deeds and fighting against all sins and crimes. Both are mandatory, both an integral part of dharma.” (5)

When pointing out is not done

 
While there are any number of cases (past and present) that depict what happens to a society when pointing out is not done, here is an example from our own AMPS. Following is a listing of injustices that were born in AMPS in the post-1990 era when margiis and Wts were not keen in pointing out the wrongdoing by Centre.

Special point: Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda sold the ashes from October 1990 around the globe.

Margii rights snatched away:
1. The destruction of BP rights and imposition of the Fake BP Manual.
2. The ruination of the ACB system by putting “yes men” on the post.
3. The curtailment of margii rights with no scope to protest in writing or discussion etc.
4. Not recognising silent action as a fundamental right.
5. Elimination of freedom of speech to control and manipulate margiis and Wts.
6. In Suva sector, Manavendrananda, by order of Sarvatmanana, created the fake SPB and got rid of the ACB.
7. The PKB (Purna Kalika Bandhu) system was exploited and rendered defunct.
8. The victimisation of countless whistleblowers - i.e. Ananda Margiis and Wts who spoke out. 
9. Inimical expulsion of innocent margiis and wts.

Scripture distortion: 
10. The Bangalisation of Ananda Marga discourses.
(a) Countless intentional scriptural distortions were done such as placing "Translated from the original Bengali" on the cover page of many Ananda Marga books, even if those discourses were not given by Baba in Bangla. 
(b) Only translating Bengali portions of Baba's holy DMC discourses which were given by Baba in three languages.
11. The insertion of the dogmatic Mahaprayan Divas as the Caryacarya part 1 Appendix.
12. Invention of Fake Ananda Vaniis.

Injunction of dogma:
13. The agenda to exploit margiis by imposing so-called pilgrimages / tiirthas in Ananda Nagar, Kolkata, and Jamalpur.
14. The introduction of the dogmatic mahaprayan, i.e. the yearly death day celebration and feast that is held annually on the death day 21 Oct. This is against Caryacarya.
15. Recitation of the shraddha mantra for the eternal Parama Purusa Baba during the dogmatic Mahaprayan Divas gathering. 
16. The propaganda of making Purodha Pramukha dada into a Holy, Divine Being in order to magnify and exploit the power of the PP post. 
(a) The propaganda that PP Dada need not sing kiirtana because PP dada is divine and far above the level of mortal humans.
(b) Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda made the rule that PP need not attend dharmacakra in order to show that PP is great and spiritually exalted. Only mortal humans have to attend, and PP is above. This is the dogma they propagated and which was followed by their stooge PP.
(c) Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda made the rule that PP need not attend paincajanya because he is spiritually elevated and far above. Only mortal humans have to attend, not  PP. This is the dogma they propagated.
(d) Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda imposed the practice at DMS etc that PP does Guru puja while sitting up on his dais, not on equal seats. 
17. The construction of dogmatic memorials and tiirthas to limit omnipresent Sadguru Baba and tie Him to a particular land or place, such as Jamalpur, Tiljala, and Ananda Nagar.

Miscellaneous wrongdoings:
18. Group leaders allegedly ordering vicious, even deadly, physical attacks on innocent Wts who were not in their group.
19. Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda made the rule that Wts are forbidden to write to other Wts if not in their direct chain of command. This was  followed by their stooge PP.
20. Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda made the rule of not sharing archive materials with sincere margiis, and taking the spiritual treasures from margiis such as discourse cassettes and letters from Baba etc. 
21. Changing the names of roads in Ananda Nagar. AMIT Road was changed to Memorial Road.
22. Sale of Ananda Marga properties and land holdings around the globe & pocketing the profits in their personal bank accounts etc.
23. Raising the Jai slogan and salute to the Divine Father for PP Dada. (Note: In India, all monks are commonly known as Baba. So when the Jai slogan is raised then PP just keeps mum, smiles, and brings his hands to his heart. By this way, the general populace and naive margiis think that the Jai slogan is raised in PP Dada’s honour. Whereas if PP raises the slogan then people will not think that PP is being revered. They will think that Baba must be someone else. So for the sake of his prestige PP does not raise the slogan. They also implemented the bogus system that the jai slogan should be at the railway platform when PP Dada’s train arrives. They gather all sorts of stooges and sycophants to stand on the platform to raise jai slogan for PP - but good mariis would never do this.)
24. Turning the treasure of Prabhat Samgiita into a money-making venture where for the sake of profits Prabhat Samgiita is placed in the hands of the degraded film industry. This was done in the 1990’s.
 
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “You are to attend Dharmacakra weekly. These are all codes of discipline as prescribed by Bhágavata Dharma. You must follow these codes. There cannot be any concession in this respect, rather concession is dangerous…One may be a king or may be a very poor man, but the code of dharma is equally applicable to all. In this matter, nobody can claim any special concession or favour.” (Subhasita Samgraha – 24, Jaeva Dharma and Bhágavata Dharma)

But Sarvatmananda with the support of Rudrananda and Nigamananda made the rule that PP need not attend dharmacakra.

Two steps backward

 
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Your good deeds may take society two steps forward, but if bad people are at work at the same time, they will take the society two steps backward and the resultant progress will be nil. Therefore, you must continue doing good to society, and at the same time must fight against the bad people to prevent them from taking a single step forward.” (6)
 
If starting in 1990, our AMPS society was strict in pointing out the wrongdoings of the ruling groups then the above injustices would have been nipped in the bud. But, step by step, all those dogmas and wrongdoings were implemented by anti-social elements, whoever was in power at the time.
 
Side by side, various goody-goodies were saying: 'Don't point out'. Yet every Ananda Margii is supposed to point out wrongdoing as per Saguru Baba’s teaching. As we all know, not doing what should be done is a form of sin, i.e. pratyavaya. So if one looks the other way in the face of injustice then that is a slippery slope. At that point, one is flirting with sin.

Conclusion

 
It is an indisputable fact of life that as Ananda Margiis we are to point out misconduct and injustices-- both in the greater society and inside our AMPS as well. According to our Sadguru this is our assigned task; it is one of the things we should do.

Wage war against immoralists
 
By pointing out the defects and injustices - by living the life of a sadvipra - our Ananda Marga society will become that clean pristine house that is a model of righteousness for the whole society to follow.
 
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Those who strictly adhere to the principles of morality, are ensconced in sacrificing service (Tapah) and are ready to wage war against immoralists are sadvipras." (8)
 
Failing to do what should be done in pratyavaya, which is a form a sin. So when one is bound to point out injustices, and if one fails to do that, is that not a type of sin? So on this matter, everyone should be extremely careful.

The mass of margiis only want to follow Baba and ensure that Baba's teachings are properly implemented. Every sincere Ananda Margii feels this in their heart. Today margiis and field workers pointing out the defects in our AMPS. This great work is going on and will increase all the more so in the near future. Because with love and benevolence in their heart every Ananda Margii wants to build up that great neo-humanistic order in our AMPS at the earliest. And for that pointing out the defects is needed. This everyone now understands.

Way of the sadvipra


   Ananda Marga ideology states, “According to our philosophy, when consciousness arises in individual life then a person begins to move in accordance with certain instructions, certain guidance. In collective life as well, when this stage comes, those who are well advanced, who understand better, who are more courageous, more firmly established in morality, who are truly righteous, they have to take the lead, to assume the mantle of leadership. In such times those who worry about what others will say or think, or worry about being criticized, and due to this fear hide behind closed doors thinking that if they take action their good name will be tarnished, such people are not true human beings. They are beggars, begging for reputation. They have no manliness; they have lost the courage to move ahead. At that time those who come forward and say – “Let’s go. I’m with you. If trouble comes, let it come. I’ll take it on my shoulders” – such people I have given the name sadvipra.”
   “This is the way it has been and the way it will always be. However, in collective life at the critical juncture between one great age and another, in this transitional stage of great change, when it becomes impossible for the common man or even ordinary sadvipras to take up the leadership, then Parama Puruśa through his special grace arranges that leadership. At this time on the earth humanity is witnessing such a yuga sandhi. On one side there is the rubbish heap of the past and people are clinging to that rubbish heap because they have not yet been shown the way out. And on the other side, there is the call of the new. Under such conditions what will that Mahásambhúti do who gave guidance to the human race in the past? With courage he will call to human beings and declare: “Give up the rubbish of the past. It can only harm you and lead you to your death. Move ahead. Answer the call of the new. I am with you. There is no reason to be afraid.”” (9)

Purport: 

O’ my Parama Purusa, the most adorable One of my life, come and give Your gentle presence which gives me a soothing calmness, like sandalwood paste, in my restless and burning heart. Please bestow Your supreme touch which is as tender as a soft flower, and look towards me with Your affectionate eyes and smile. 

O’ Parama Purusa, in caverns and corners of the globe, in the depth of everyone’s psyche, where are You hiding. Kindly come before me and make everything refulgent with Your spiritual glow, and satiate my inner being to its full content. Baba, You are my everything.

O’ Parama Purusa, You were hiding in my unconscious mind. Baba, sometimes You were concealing Yourself in my subconscious layer. Please descend into my conscious state, after giving up Your displeasure and unhappiness with me.
 
I humbly request You to shower Your grace and withdraw Your liila of hide and seek, and come before me so I can see You always...

Scenic panorama of forms

“Tomáy ámi khunje gechi, kata ná yuga dhare...” (Prabhat Samgiita #4018)

Purport:

O’ Baba, I have searched for You for ages and ages. Since time immemorial, the dawn of my existence, I have been seeking You. I have rowed this worn-out boat, (jiirn’ tarii), in this ocean of time, (ka’ler sagar) for so many lives – one after another. O’ my Supreme One, birth after birth, creeping across the expanse, I have been slowly moving towards You. Baba, now today, still, I am just doing my lethargic meditation, trying to reach Your lotus feet.

O’ Parama Purusa, I have been searching You in all the directions: Left and right, front and back, up and down, far away and close by, in each and every nook and corner of this vast creation – everywhere. I have also looked for You in the scenic panorama of forms throughout this expressed universe. Baba I have explored so many places in search of You.

O’ Parama Purusa, no matter where I looked, You could not be found. You did not give me any hint as to where You were hiding. Nor did You ever tell me Your divine tales or share Your blissful stories. I never heard anything from You. Even then, with my heartfelt longing I go on calling You, in my yearning.

Baba, now You have blessed me with the understanding that You reside in my heart eternally...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #4018:

[1] Jiirn’ Tarii: (literally meaning ‘worn-out boat’). This term indicates how the journey has been slow in their worn-out boat. Non-margii life is a very slow journey. Even after getting initiation onto the path of sadhana the aspirant is just lazily attending to his meditation practice – inching his way towards Parama Purusa. So the sadhaka is not pointed in his approach. That is why he is moving very slowly. And this is conveyed by use of the term - jiirn’ tarii (worn-out boat) - in the below song.

[2] Ka’ler Sa’gar: (literally meaning ‘ocean of time’). Since one’s initial birth there is a vast yet measurable distance between the aspirant and their Goal. That distance which spans countless lifetimes is known as the ocean of time. That expanse is what the sadhaka must cross to reach their Goal. And by slowly revolving around the Cosmic Nucleus one advances on their journey. The sadhaka has been crossing that ocean of time. And there is sure to come a day when invariably that sadhaka will traverse that entire ocean of time and become one with their cherished Goal – Parama Purusa.

Allopathic medicine disrupts the body’s balance

Ananda Marga ideology states, "When people take allopathic medicine to cure a disease, the medicine disturbs the ecological balance of the body because more negative microvita get concentrated at the point of the disease. Allopathic medicines do not kill diseases – diseases die by their own natural death. Although the medicine may check the disease, the increased concentration of negative microvita can overcome the effect of the medicine. In fact, the increased concentration of negative microvita caused by allopathic medicines creates many new types of diseases, and due to this, two or three new diseases are presently being created every decade." Prevention & remedy for stress and mental ailments

In this modern age, scientific development has made significant progress; in comparison, human psychic and spiritual growth has lagged far behind. In result, psychic problems and mental tension have multiplied in a geometrical progression. The final outcome is that nerve, brain, and heart diseases have become quite common; and anxiety, nervousness, and insanity are widespread in the society. The remedy for this has been given in our Ananda Marga ideology:

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "While doing work one should ideate, 'It is the work of Parama Purusa; it is not mine. I am doing His work to please Him'. By following this approach mental tension, nervousness, and psychic diseases will never arise. And also samskaras will not be formed." (1)

You called it a stupid question and listening to it I wholeheartedly agree!  Any number of yoga practitioners around the world understand the premise of the 8 limbs of yoga. Dada Rudrananda was really making himself look foolish in assuming that he held that special unique knowledge and might offer some magical demonstration to enthrall and surprise the audience which clearly didn't go down well. Rather like a firework that fizzled out Dada R was made to look ridiculous. How embarrassing to have Ananda Marga be so poorly represented.
