Step to hide sin + 2 more

Baba
Step to hide sin

Namaskar,

The editorial of the magazine Prajina Bharati issue #260 teaches that we should ignore negative aspects of a person who is our leader and only consider the positive points while making an overall impression, as a leader himself also changes with the passage of time. At the surface level, this teaching sounds innocuous. However, there is a background story that all should know to find out why such an editorial and teaching appears in an AMPS magazine.

Below is the scanned image of the editorial published in Prajina Bharati magazine’s issue number 260 (volume 41, number 4). The below highlighted lines of the editorial suggest that we should ignore negative aspects of a person (our central Purodhas) and only consider the positive points while making an overall impression as Purodhas change.

High post awarded to toadies

All the characterless workers were appointed by so-called Rudrananda to high positions in the organization. This situation is bad and that is why a graphic description is necessary to make the picture clear for the readers. All those whole-time workers who have weakness in their lower cakras and have demonstrated lecherous behavior in their dealings with other female whole-time workers and ma’rgiis have been given important organizational posts by Rudrananda. So-called Rudrananda has used this ploy to exploit the weakness of character of the aforementioned type of whole-time workers. Due to their own weakness, these highly posted characterless Dadas cannot speak against the corrupt ways of Rudrananda and thereby Rudrananda has become the kingpin of AMPS. These highly posted Dadas are thus stooges and can be easily made to dance to any tune that Rudrananda wants.

PB Editorial used as tool to befool Margiis

Naturally, the ma’rgiis have raised objections against the appointment of such characterless Dadas to important organizational posts. To save their face these corrupt AMPS officers present a narrative to the unsuspecting ma’rgiis to cleverly remold their viewpoints. The editorial published in Prajina Bharatii #260 is an example of such a narrative. In this editorial (see above scan; also note 2), it has been said that we should ignore two negative qualities if there are ten positive qualities in an individual. And implicitly, the editorial justifies that even if a worker is lecherous we should make him a purodha just because he has been wearing orange robes that others do not want to. This definitely is against Baba’s guidelines as Baba says that a leader should have exemplary conduct. Even a small defect in a leader can cause the followers to be misled.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an ácárya. Just as it is the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good conduct, an ácárya or ácáryá should always instruct by his or her exemplary actions and words.” (1)

When sinners could be helped

There are rare circumstances when defects of a person can be ignored. Consider the example of a prisoner who is incarcerated due to some crime he committed. Now, if the prisoner displays good conduct in the prison then in order to decide whether to give him parole some of his earlier crimes may be ignored. This is done by keeping in mind the welfare of the prisoner. Another example is that of a teenager who had very bad conduct earlier but wants to sincerely rectify himself now. The parents should then forget his earlier misconduct for his welfare and progress.

High post is not for horndogs

If a decision is to be made as to whether a person should be appointed at a very responsible position such as a purodha, then even a single misconduct disqualifies one. Take the example of a medical student. If the medical student does not attend classes and laboratories but is very handsome in looks and talks nicely to people, such a student should not be given a degree and license to practice on the basis of his external appearance. After all, a doctor needs to treat people which requires deep knowledge that can be acquired via diligent study and can be tested by passing standard exams. Can there be any compromise in this regard? Likewise, a mathematics teacher cannot ignore the lack of knowledge in the mathematics of a student and pass him just based on the student’s knowledge of some other subject.

Ideological yardstick

For responsible leadership positions, a crisp scale of ideology has to be applied.  There is no other alternative to decide whether a person is suitable for a high post or not.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an ácárya. Just as it is the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good conduct, an ácárya or ácáryá should always instruct by his or her exemplary actions and words.” (2)

Conclusion

The editorial of the 260th issue of Prajina Bharti teaches that we should ignore a few negative points in people (our central Purodhas) and only focus on their positive qualities. This editorial is part of a deceptive narrative of AMPS, which recruits jina’nii writers to convince people to ignore the lecherous behaviors of highly posted characterless stooges of Rudrananda. When we are talking about appointing leaders then we must use the scale of ideology and allow only those people to rise to the ranks of leadership who show an exemplary conduct.

In Him

Those who fail to live up to the below teaching cannot be called acaryas, regardless of the color of their dress.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Those who have the responsibility to show the path to others should be of superlative character with the most refined conduct. They and their followers must move constantly towards all-round development and shreya [ultimate spiritual attainment]. Persons who teach such well-regulated behaviour to others by their own conduct are called ácáryas.” (3)

Note 2: The editorial published in Prajina Bharati #260

There are a few rare circumstances such as those who are serving time in jail etc, wherein sympathy for erring individuals is required to rectify them. There are many people who have gotten a human body for the first time and they need to be shown the proper path. However, those in positions of leadership should not be treated in this way, for putting degenerated persons in such positions will be injustice to society.

Allopathic medicine & negative microvita

Ananda Marga ideology states, "When people take allopathic medicine to cure a disease, the medicine disturbs the ecological balance of the body because more negative microvita get concentrated at the point of the disease. Allopathic medicines do not kill diseases – diseases die by their own natural death. Although the medicine may check the disease, the increased concentration of negative microvita can overcome the effect of the medicine. In fact, the increased concentration of negative microvita caused by allopathic medicines creates many new types of diseases, and due to this, two or three new diseases are presently being created every decade."
