Non-margii Caryacarya

Baba

Non-margii Caryacarya

Note: This letter is only for those who are strict Ananda Margiis. Only those who adhere to Sixteen Points and wear a laungota know the real value of its use. Those who are not strict and do not use a laungota are just pseudo-margiis. Such persons may wish to skip reading this letter. Without using one a laungota one can never learn or understand the many benefits of its use.

Namaskar,

Some monks of Ananda Marga are using underwear. Anyone who has seen the 1999 Hindi version of Caryacarya part 3, displayed below, will easily understand.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Baba's scientific system

Every true Ananda Margii is aware that Baba's designated system is that all males must wear a laungota.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "Immediately upon reaching adolescence (in India, one reaches adolescence in between the ages of twelve and fourteen), males should start using kaopiina (laungot'a') and should pull back the foreskin of the penis." (1)

The laungota is part of our scientific system for maintaining the sanctity of body and mind as it promotes health and restraint by providing proper support. Specifically it keeps the organ facing in an upward direction. No other type of undergarment does this. And, Baba directs all practitioners to a laungota when performing yoga asanas.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "Males must wear a kaopiina (laungot'a'), and there should be no other clothing on the body." (2)

Baba's explicit direction is that all males in the Ananda Marga must wear a laungota at all times and certainly when practicing yoga asanas - there is no other alternative. Western style underwear or briefs are not acceptable options. Because pseudo-culture western briefs do not provide adequate support nor do they keep the organ upward facing when unwanted thoughts arise.

The cover of Caryacarya

Unfortunately, on the cover of the 1999 Hindi edition of Caryacarya part 3, there are glossy, colour diagrams of an Ananda Marga monk doing yoga asanas. And the monk is depicted wearing western style underwear or briefs. He is not wearing a laungota. Even worse, as there is no opening or seam on the front side of that western underwear, it becomes quite evident that the monk on the cover of Caryacarya III (Hindi 1999) is wearing female underwear.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

So the whole situation is quite messy and embarrassing. Not only that, one of the asanas that the monk is performing is not one of our specific Ananda Marga asanas. Rather the photo is of a person doing fake yoga, i.e. so-called tree pose. Thus there are multiple issues involved.

This 1999 Hindi version of CC-3 is bogus. Because the term Caryacarya itself means "do's & don'ts": Our Caryacarya books are explicit guidelines for the code of conduct in Ananda Marga. And in this very book, i.e. CC-3, Baba says in multiple places that all males must wear a laungota - not western style underwear - and that, in particular, a laungota must be worn when doing yoga asanas. Yet the very cover of this 1999 Hindi edition contravenes Baba's guidelines in this regard. The Ananda Marga monk is wearing western-style underwear - and that is not our system. To make matters worse, one of the asanas shown is not part of Baba's system.

Thus, the 1999 Hindi edition of Caryacarya - 3 is quite problematic and gives a false showing of our Ananda Marga way of life.

See the book

In the below image of 1999 Hindi edition of Caryacarya - 3, there are four hexagons with white a background containing drawings of a person doing yoga postures. The man in the sketch has black hair and a beard and is not wearing any clothing except orange, pseudo-culture women’s underwear. Clearly it is not a laungota as prescribed for Ananda Margiis. And we know it is women’s underwear because there is no stitching / opening on the front side as is done for male pseudo-culture, western briefs. And in the bottom row of asanas, the drawn figure is doing a fake pseudo-culture asana known as tree pose. All in all, this entire scene - book cover - is in violation to the codes as laid down in Caryacarya by Marga Guru.

The cover of the book must be proper

Baba has graciously given all the teachings for self-realisation and creating a proper social order. All we need to do is follow them correctly. But sadly, the above book cover is in violation of Baba’s dharmic teachings.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

The teachings in Caryacarya represent our social scripture and if the cover of these books run contrary to His guidelines, then that indeed is an injustice. We can never accept such a thing - on points of dharma we must never compromise.

It is our bounden duty to rally around this concerning matter regarding this 1999 Hindi edition of Caryacarya-III. That will be a critical step to restoring prama and setting the tone to keep true to His teachings.

Ananda Marga Carycarya states, "Carya'carya (all parts) is our social treatise." (3)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Ananda Marga wants to build up an ideal society such as this. So there should be a congenial environment where people will get the opportunity to enhance their physical, psychic and spiritual progress, and advance rhythmically and in unison towards Parama Purus'a. Hence, Ananda Marga has formulated a social treatise for the establishment of a congenial social structure." (4)

Namaskar,
In Him,
sadhanabhakti

Definitely not a laungota

It should be clarified that the monk on the cover of Caryacarya part 3 is definitely not wearing a laungota. There is no mistaking the drawing.

By contrast, the black and white sketches on the inside pages of the book showing a monk doing yoga postures are starkly different. Those are older sketches done before 1990 and in those drawings it is very evident and noticeable that the male practitioner is most definitely wearing a laungota. In contrast, the drawings on the high-gloss cover of the Hindi edition do not resemble those sketches on the inside pages. On the cover, the Ananda Marga monk is absolutely, positively wearing western female underwear, just like they wear in Hollywood movies etc.

Why this is harmful

The end result is that this is harmful in multiple ways:

(1) Good people - i.e. new people looking for a revolutionary path - will walk away from Ananda Marga thinking that we are no different from all the other fake yoga. They will see that we are embracing the same western pseudo-culture. That is what will happen when we shy away from our dharmic teachings.

(2) Nowadays, due to Baba's sublime vibration, people are looking for something pure and untainted. Many around the globe are looking towards the ancient traditions of India for new practices in life. They are not wanting to redo all the same western dogmas. If we refrain from teaching them about our scientific laungota system, which is actually new and revolutionary and even better than what the monks of old were wearing, then we will not be able to attract those good people into our Ananda Marga.

(3) Baba's asana system requires wearing a laungota and He has specially selected asanas which uplift the practitioner in all the realms: physical, psychic, and spiritual. That is a huge boon for humanity. As we know there are thousands and thousands of yoga asanas, yet Baba has exclusively selected the most beneficial ones for human growth and development. Yet on the cover of CC-3, those publishers are highlighting tree pose, which is not even one of our Ananda Marga asanas. New readers will think that this is one they should practice and they will think we are sloppy since although it appeared on the cover, but it is not described inside the book. So this is yet another unfortunate and harmful outcome.

(4) Finally, if we fail to live up to our Ananda Marga standards on the points of wearing a laungota and doing proper asanas, then we are bound to fall short of our ideals in so many other arenas of life. So it only begs a greater problem.

Printed by...

The 1999 version of CC-3 1999 Hindi edition was printed in Tiljala by the Publications Dept, but all other in-charges have been keeping silent about this. Either they do not care about the error or you tell what could be the problem.

After such a long time I have gotten You

Note: Only those who sincerely practice the higher lessons of sahaja yoga meditation can understand this song in the depths of their heart.

“Anek diner pare, tomáre pelum ghare..." (Prabhat Samgiita #1932)

Purport:

Parama Purusa, after such a long time I have gotten You in my humble abode. You have come - it is Your grace. My Prabhu, kindly remain here with me in my home, inundating me with bliss and illuminating my mind. I will not let You go far away. Kindly infuse my entire being with bhakti and stay with me forever. You have blessed me so much.

Supreme Entity, Baba, I do not know how many years of sadhana have wiped away the darkness of my mind. I did not do any penance or good deeds, but due to Your causeless krpa You came here to me. The night sadhana has brought the crimson dawn to my doorstep - You are that dawn. Because of Your presence, all the darkness of my mind has vanished. The blackness of the nil moon has been transformed into the brilliant, refulgence of the full moon by Your august arrival.

Parama Purusa, it is my deep desire to be with You. Let this dawn with Your presence - stay up to eternity, and keep me in anandam forever. By Your spiritual touch, let my mind sway endlessly in divine ecstasy. Baba, please remain with me eternally.

My Adored One, You have poured immense karuna on me. You have come to me please remain always…

Note for Prabhat Samgiita #1932:

[1] Karun'a': This is when one harbours a deep sense of empathy, is pained by another's suffering, and feels, "I should help them.” For example, suppose a beggar is wallowing in misery. By seeing his wretched condition, you felt, "I should help him and remove his agony.” This heartfelt feeling is the expression of karuna'.

Similarly, suppose a bhakta is suffering and unable to progress in the physical, psychic, or spiritual realms for any reason. In such circumstances, Parama Purusa cannot bear to watch that sadhaka suffer. He feels He must rescue them immediately. With His deep empathy and mercy, Parama Purusa removes their agony, so that once again that bhakta can progress in all realms of life. This entire liila is called His karun'a'.

Difference Between krpa' & karun'a'

In the case of karun'a', Parama Purusa is moved by a bhakta's suffering and comes forward to save that bhakta. Whereas with krpa' (grace), the bhakta is not suffering but even then Parama Purusa is bestowing His blessing.

It is just like if a beggar is sick and suffering half-naked in the freezing cold. If with great empathy a passerby selflessly helps that beggar without expecting anything in return, that is karuna’. Because the passerby is moved and motivated into action by seeing the beggar's suffering. In contrast, if someone is below normal but not sick, and that person just wishes to give that person a gift, then that krpa’.

When out of empathy Parama Purusa lovingly comes to the aid of the suffering bhakta to relieve them of their spiritual strife, that is the karuna of Parama Purusa; and, if that same bhakta is not suffering in the spiritual realm, yet Baba still bestows His blessing to enhance their bhakti, that is His krpa’ on the bhakta.
