Namaskar,
There is a myth that, “Baba never told anything directly that homosexuality is bad.”
Here below is the proof that Baba Himself took an unequivocal and strong stand against homosexuality.
Brother G from the USA stood in front of Baba. After some personal talk, Baba said, “Your mind is unnecessarily disturbed about the past. You made some mistakes of a sexual nature.”
G’s face suddenly became very red.
“Yeah...yes, Baba,” he mumbled.
“When you were younger you had some misunderstanding about the relationship between men and women.”
He stared at the floor, saying, “Yes, Baba.”
“But it was not your fault. As a little boy you were simply influenced by your environment.”
G looked up at Baba. He sighed deeply, smiled slightly and said, “Thank you, Baba.”
“No need of thanks,” Baba said. “I merely convey to you the unadulterated facts. You were unaware. Unaware.”
G approached me after the session, wanting to get something off his chest.
“I never told anyone, Dada,” he said, “but since you were present today, I want to tell you that...that before joining Ananda Marga, I had...homosexual relations.”
He watched for my reaction. Seeing none, he continued, “Even though I’ve been doing meditation for a number of years, it’s always bothered me; I’ve always felt guilty. But now Baba’s freed my mind. When He said it wasn’t my fault, something let go inside of me. I feel so light now; I wouldn’t be surprised if I started to fly!” (Who’s Afraid of the Tantric Guru (1995), by Ac Dharmavedananda Avt, p. 279)
Note: A scan of this story from the original text has been appended below.
In the above story, a male had sex with another male – that is the sinful dealing that Baba is pointing out and this same sin applies to females who have sex with another female. So this is a universal teaching that applies go all gays, lesbians, homosexuals etc.
Having attraction for the same-sex is not good, this attraction must not be encouraged, neither physically nor mentally. Rather it should be diverted toward spiritual attainment; that desire should be goaded towards Parama Purusa. An ideal widower, or divorcee, or single margii, and those who have taken the vow of celibacy, if any have attraction for the opposite sex, then internally they goad their mind toward Parama Purusa. Remember physically indulging in same-sex relations and mentally harboring this desire are both against the AM way of life and detrimental to one’s spiritual growth.
Some people think accepting gay relations is equated with being open-minded. In that case, in the general society then all kinds of things should be accepted in the name of open-mindedness like prostitution, animal sex like – dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, camels, bulls, sheep, birds, trees, plants & bugs.
In Ananda Marga, we love everyone – all humans irrespective of their gender or sexual preference, or any other quality. We love everyone: Diseased persons, healthy persons, serial killers, and sex addicts – all human beings (virtuous, great people; good; and bad), as well as all kinds of animals and plants, even poisonous snakes. We love all as they are the progeny of Parama Purusa.
Having gay and lesbian relations and remaining in Ananda Marga is like flying in the sky and drowning in the water at the same time. One path, i.e. gay relations, is when mind is going towards the muladhara cakra, and on the other path, i.e. Ananda Marga, the mind is going towards the sahasrara cakra. So the two cannot co-exist.
Thus, there should not be any confusion about this. The stand of Ananda Marga philosophy is very clear-cut. In Ananda Marga, there is zero scope for an animalistic way of life.
Namaskar,
in Him,
Liila Hampton
Materialism does not consider or have a clue that human desire is infinite and cannot be satisfied through worldly means. Based on their wrong and defective platform, such materialists support all kinds of dirty activities which destroy the body and mind, such as drinking, smoking, lesbian & gay & bisexual perverted sex, sex with animals & plants (dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, camels, bulls, sheep, birds, trees, plants & bugs), and all kinds of harmful indulgences. Such degrading activities are not only allowed but welcomed in materialism.
There are some in Ananda Marga who are not sure about our AM philosophical stand on homosexuality. Yet, as we know, in Ananda Marga, sex is for procreation only.
Even then some of our margiis, who are affected by western materialistic values, have a tough time understanding this.
In Ananda Marga, our manner is to divert all longing toward the Supreme and ultimately become one with Parama Purusa. We live to please and serve Him and attain permanent peace, and not plunge ourselves in fleeting, sinful vices like sex with animals etc (dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, camels, bulls, sheep, birds, trees, plants & bugs), lesbian or gay or bi-sexual relations, or perverted sex etc.
There is a myth that, “Baba never told anything directly that homosexuality is bad.” But now we know this myth is just that: A myth. Because Baba clearly has expressed His disapproval of homosexual / gay relations. He strongly condemns such acts.
Here is a scan of that story from page 279 of Dada Dharmavedanandji's book, "Who's Afraid of the Tantric Guru."
Baba says, "Dhaotii: Immediately after Nasapana, at a time when your stomach is empty and you are washing your face, the throat should be cleaned with the middle finger of the right hand, inserting it as far as possible." (CC-3, chapter 7, Point #5)
Note: Since the practice of nasapana is required in order to practice dhaotii, here following is a reminder about that:
"Nasapana: Draw in clean water through the nostrils and pass it out through the mouth. This water may be swallowed, but it is better to spit it out." (CC-3)

~ When I Ask For Something Stupid, Then You Never Fulfill It ~
PS Introduction: Parama Purusa has an infinite number of qualities and
attributions. One of them is amtra or sudha sar, i.e. essence of nectar.
"Every spiritual realization – from the higher spiritual realm to the
comparatively low psycho-spiritual realm – comes about through the
medium of hormones secreted by the ájiṋá cakra and the sahasrára cakra
(these hormones are called sudhá in scriptural language)."
"The hormone secretion of the Brahmarandhra, the supreme gland of the
human body, is partly controlled by the moon, and the moon is also
called soma; hence that nectar is called somarasa or somadhárá. This
somadhárá invigorates the lower glands of the human body and intoxicates
a spiritual aspirant with joy. Ordinary people cannot experience this
divine joy, because crude thoughts result in somarasa being burnt up in
the mental sphere (in the pituitary gland and vicinity). But a sádhaka
feels a great intoxication at the time this amrta is being secreted.
When those who are not sádhakas observe this condition, they mistake it
for something else." (AMIWL-9, Tantra and Sa´dhana´)
Parama Purusa is sudha sar, i.e. essence of nectar.
"Ogo Prabhu toma’r liila’ apa’r, Bojha’r buddhi neiko a’ma’r..." (2615)
Purport:
O' Parama Purusa, Your divine liila is infinite and has no bounds. It is
limitless. O' my Lord, You are the Supreme Entity and I am a little
human being. I do not posses the requisite intellect to understand Your
liila. It is far beyond the realm of my understanding. I ask for many
things - some good and some bad. You are so gracious - You only bestow
those thing that are for my welfare. When I ask for anything harmful,
then You never fulfill my request. You graciously overlook my baser and
degrading desires.
O' Supreme One, I am floating on and on in the rasa (flow) of Your
cosmic liila. Only by Your wish, have I been granted the language to
express myself. O' Lord, when I am burdened in pain and suffering in
sorrow, by Your grace I always find comfort and solace in the tune of
Your songs. Also, in my happiness, Your songs always bring more joy.
O' Parama Purusa Baba, You are so near and dear to me. You help me in
all my troubles and circumstances. You are the most resplendent One. You
are revered in all the various lavyers - on all planes and in all
circumstances. O my Lord, O' Baba, You're the essence of nectar...
