Here below is the mahaprayan commemoration of one Muslim person, Mahaprayan of Abdul Kasim Fazlul Haq. So the mahaprayan function is not something godly.

In this particular mahaprayan observance, the article and photo is of Abdul Kasim Fazlul Haq (born 1873, died 27 April 1962). So this is the 52nd annual observation of Abdul Kasim Fazlul Haq’s mahaprayan, i.e. annual death day ceremony or shraddjainjali. The followers of Islam perform the yearly mahaprayan function / shraddha'injali.

Sadly, some have been led into believing that the mahaprayan / shraddha'injali program is something divine for Sadguru. However, the truth is something very different. In India and the so many lands that use the Sanskrit language, mahaprayan signifies the death of regular human beings.

Every Ananda Margii should be clear on this point: Mahaprayan is the observance of xyz’s death etc. So the mahaprayan of every citizen is observed.

The mahaprayan term is highlighted three times Bengali script in the below title / article - twice in yellow and once in orange. If you type this word into the internet search engine you will find this article.

Nothing should be done that day

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (2)

The all-knowing Mahasambhuti has not given any chapter on what to do on the day that He leaves His physical body. That itself is proof that on the day He left His physical body nothing should be done. Otherwise, Mahasambhuti would surely have given something to be done on that day.

Bear in mind, Caryacarya-1 chapter 32 details how our Ananda Marga shra'ddha ceremony is meant only for human beings. Applying that to Mahasambhuti was and is demeaning. Yet we all know that from 1990 and many, many years thereafter, the mahaprayan leaders used the “Omn madhu” shra'ddha ceremony mantra for Mahasambhuti. That was completely inappropriate and sinful. Because that mantra and that ceremony is for humans, not for Mahasambhuti.

Ananda Margii think

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (3)

So I ask you: Pause and think. This letter is not about groupism; this is a devotional issue. Guru is being abused. Don't you think Guru is with you always? In the tantra of Ananda Marga, sadhana starts with this feeling that, "Guru is with me." One must have this basic feeling. So naturally every Ananda Margii thinks their Sadguru is with them. Then why are we allowing this dogmatic annual death ceremony, i.e. mahaprayan / shraddha'injali.

Dogmatic disciples apply that dogma to Guru


Beloved Baba is the eternal Sadguru, yet the mahaprayan organisers are treating Him like one mortal who died.

Sadguru Baba is against the annual mahaprayan / shraddha'injali / death day / shra'ddha dogma. In Caryacarya, Guru has given the directive that there must not be an annual mahaprayan / shraddha'injali / death day / shra'ddha.

But look at what is unfolding in AMPS. An annual death day anniversary program - i.e. mahaprayan / shraddha'injali - was dragged into our AMPS. And what to speak of 12 days, it has been going on for 34 years. How ironic: The very function of annual mahaprayan (i.e. shraddha'injali program, death day ceremony, shra'ddha etc), Guru has condemned, yet those MPD organisers are doing His annual death day observance.

As we know, the concept of so-called mahaprayan is something very mundane; it signifies the death of a human being; it is a common phenomenon across the Indian subcontinent.

As evidenced above (see image & caption) and in this series of letters, the program of mahaprayan is everywhere; it is widely observed for the death of a human. It is not something divine. It is not something for the eternal Sadguru.

All should be aware that the mahaprayan program is not a new phenomenon that started in 1990. For ages and ages, so many humans have had their mahaprayan. Since the Sanskrit language came into existence - thousands of years ago - the concept of mahaprayan conveys the idea of the death of a human being.

Self-engrossed Wt gave up asanas

Namaskar,

Asanas are the ideal exercise to perfect the human body.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “Ásanas are a kind of exercise by regular practice of which the body stays healthy and hardy and many diseases are cured.” (Caryacarya - 3, Ásanas)

But sadly, one avadhuta, Iishvarakrsanananda, has discarded his yogic asanas, kaoshikii, and tandava etc practices and instead nestled all his faith in western gym workouts. He got swept up into the common flow of materialism. Instead of being a torchlight of AM dharmic practices, he became one of the many enticed by pseudo-culture.

Remember, only Ananda Marga asanas are a true mind-body engagement that keeps the body vibrant and the mind goaded towards spirituality and sadhana.

Ananda Marga philosophy states:

Question: What is the definition of ásanas?

Answer: Sthirasukham ásanam (Patanjali). Ásanas are calm, quiet and easy postures which are held with proper inhalation and exhalation. They exercise the nerves, tissues, glands and organs of the human body. While practising ásanas one enjoys physical comfort and mental composure.

The regular practice of ásanas keeps the body healthy and cures many diseases. Ásanas control the glands, the glands control the secretion of hormones, and the secretion of hormones controls the propensities. So ásanas help a sádhaka [spiritual aspirant] to balance the body and concentrate the mind.

Question: Why do we practise ásanas?

Answer: We perform ásanas for the following reasons:
1. To increase the flexibility of the body.
2. To rectify glandular defects and balance hormonal secretions in order to control the vrttis [propensities].
3. To balance the body and mind.
4. To withdraw the mind from undesirable thinking.
5. To prepare the mind for subtler and higher sádhaná [spiritual practices]. (Yoga Psychology, Questions and Answers on Meditation, #4 & #5)
