Greedy Cirasmita masquerades as beggar

~ Cirasmita sits on road with begging bowl ~

Namaskar,

The dharma of Ananda Marga ideology is the polar opposite of the greed that has taken hold these days around the globe. Here is a brief case study.

Guru’s order: Bear in mind that towards you, no one has any duty

Our Ananda Marga ideology is based on a high ideal and is on the other end of the spectrum from avaricious ways of materialism. In the social sphere, we embrace the values selflessness and sacrifice. Our aim is to serve others and never accept or expect anything in return.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "Bear in mind that you have a duty towards – indeed, you owe a debt to – every creature of this universe, but towards you, no one has any duty; from others, nothing is due." (1)

Millionaire Cirasmita used crowdfunding to befool & earn

Now see here what millionaire Cirasmita (Joni Zweig) of the USA has done. She collected more than $11,000 for her own personal, private cause. And in many of those cases, millionaire Cirasmita has far more money in her own bank account than those who are donating to her have. That means she is far wealthier than many of those giving money to her. Yet, shamelessly she is indiscriminately accepting / begging for money from those who are of lesser financial means. From top to bottom, the affair is quite awful. If you see the upper-right corner of the image (appended below), it is evident that millionaire Cirasmita had the goal to collect $50,000 for her own self - in the name of the “Joni Zweig Fund.”

As a true Ananda Margii, no sadhaka would ever project themselves as a charity in their own, personal, individual life. To do so would wholly contravene the ideals as given by Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. We are to always look to serve others - in all the spheres of life: physically, socially, economically, psychically, and spiritually. We should never fall into the greedy trap of trying to extract maximum dollars for our own petty cause.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "Bear in mind that you have a duty towards – indeed, you owe a debt to – every creature of this universe, but towards you, no one has any duty; from others, nothing is due." (2)

And in times of extreme need or crisis, one should never borrow or accept donations on the personal level until they have fully used up their own financial resources.

In Him,
Vivek

Donor incur negative samskaras

Here Baba guides us that those who donated to millionaire Cirasmita contravened Baba’s teaching on tapah so they have incurred negative samskaras.

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, “Tapah devoid of knowledge is bound to be misused. The opportunists will misuse your energy by extracting work from you to serve their selfish ends, and at the same time this will deprive the real sufferers of their due services from you. A rich miser approaches you with a tale of woe and entreats you to give him relief. Being moved with pity, if you do what is needed to relieve him of his suffering, the very purpose of tapah will be defeated, as it is without any knowledge or reasoning. The end result of your service will be that the rich man whom you have served will become more miserly and more selfish and will, in the future, try to deceive in a greater way people who dedicate themselves to the service of humanity. Secondly, as you will, to some extent, know his inner motive, you will become mentally depressed and you will also develop a hostile attitude towards him. Therefore, while following the principle of tapah you should ascertain fully well whether the person you are going to serve, really needs your service. Only then should you engage yourself in service.” (3)

Do not give donations to the rich

It is completely against Baba’s teachings on tapah to give money or resources to those who have more than you have.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In practising tapah you should always give consideration to those who are inferior to you and not to those who are superior. Your responsibility is greater for those who are weaker, poorer, less educated, more ignorant and downtrodden in comparison with you. Your responsibility is very little for those who are above your level, who are better off and more powerful than you. Therefore, you will have to ascertain with discrimination where your responsibility lies and to what extent; otherwise all your time, energy and labour employed in tapah will be in vain. To banquet the rich is of no use – give food to the starving. There is no need to send presents to your superiors – send medicine and food to the sick. Don”t waste your time in flattering the rich; it will yield no result. Conquer the hearts of the underprivileged by your sympathetic behaviour and accept them in your society.” (4)

Now kindly see the upper-right corner of the below image, millionaire Cirasmita had the goal to collect $50,000 for her own self - in the name of the “Joni Zweig Fund.”

The above is millionaire Cirasmita’s (Joni Zweig) personal money-raising page where she has turned herself into a charity in order to collect $50,000 for her own personal existence. Yet, she herself is not destitute; she is of good means - more about her financial status is written below. But even then she is opted to go against our central ethic of Ananda Marga philosophy and cast a wide net in hopes of gathering as much money as she can from people for her own personal life.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Follow dharma in good times & bad

One has to follow dharma in all circumstances good and bad. Rather it is in our times of desperation that we should be even more strict in dharma as that sets an excellent example to others. But when faced with a crisis, millionaire Cirasmita went in the other direction.

Tasmáddharmah sadákáryah

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Therefore dharma should always be practised.” (5)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Codes of discipline as prescribed by Bhágavata Dharma. You must follow these codes. There cannot be any concession in this respect, rather concession is dangerous…One may be a king or may be a very poor man, but the code of dharma is equally applicable to all. In this matter, nobody can claim any special concession or favour.” (6)

It is a tragedy that millionaire Cirasmita had the accident, but even in this difficult period she should keep dharma front and center and not be swayed by selfish, materialistic tendencies.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Cirasmita & Giridhara are millionaires

By all accounts, fake family acarya millionaire Cirasmita and her husband Giridhara are quite wealthy people. They had own their own computer company, Universal Micro Systems, and for many years held statewide, governmental contracts. Ultimately they sold their business but it is well known that their company had millions of dollars of sales for years on end. So they are not impoverished - rather they are quite wealthy. That makes it all the more nauseating that Cirasmita had the gall to gather donations for her personal needs when she herself had far more money than those simple margiis who were donating to her.

==> Fake Family Acarya: Unqualified people who became family acarya after 1990 on the merit of bootlicking of one or another group. Millionaire Cirasmita falls in this category.

All in all, this entire scheme is embedded in the hallmark of materialism. Verily this is what materialism does: It lures people by their baser desires like greed etc. So when everyone and anyone is running after money, the tactic of making oneself into a charity can be quite a draw. Such is the unfortunate effect of materialism / capitalism.

Ideal of the lily

As Ananda Margiis we are to aspire to the ideal of the lotus: keeping the mind pure and clean despite living in this busy, dirty mundane world - just as the lotus flower maintains its purity despite growing in the muddy pond. Unfortunately, one so-called family acarya recently failed miserably in the endeavour. If this is not clear to you then kindly reread the above letter in its entirety to understand the issue.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Millionaire Cirasmita’s deception

Selfishness reigns supreme in materialism - so much so that some people consider themselves to be a charity. Gone are the days of only raising money for the poor, or for service projects, or for veritable causes. Now the growing trend is to raise money for “me” - i.e. oneself.

One of the more popular ways for manifesting their dreams of funding themselves is crowdfunding websites. Within a few strokes of the keyboard, a person can
magically transform themselves into a charity. And if they present their case just right, within a few minutes the money will come pouring in. The charity giving will commence and you will be the grand recipient of others generosity. To put it simply, this is a way to money-grab from innocent and naive donors. It is a “get-rich-quick” scheme that just needs a bit of psychology and a few generous donors to be very successful. While some of the causes are certainly legitimate and truly help those in need, there is no shortage of opportunists and outright scams on this site. That is what Cirasmita did.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

By following yama and niyama, we are to adhere to the tenet of tapah - whereby we should always sacrifice oneself for the betterment of others in service to Parama Purusa and never be tempted or swayed by any type of selfish type of crowdfunding campaigns.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Tapah sádhaná is, therefore, to be above selfishness. As a rule, practice of tapah will lead to mental dilation, and this dilation will certainly help a sádhaka, to a large extent, in practising Iishvara prańidhána. The sádhakas of tapah know that the served is Brahma, their cherished goal. They are servants and the service rendered by them is their sádhaná.” (7)

Please come in my heart

Note: Only those who sincerely practice the higher lessons of sahaja yoga meditation can understand this song in the depths of their heart.

"Tumi eso ámár mane, ámár sakal bhavanáy..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2070)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, please come in my mind, in all my thoughts - always. Be in my sadhana, dhyana, kiirtan, and bhajan, and in all sorts of my ideations. Kindly remain ever-present. I go on searching You in all my works; by this way You may be attained.

O' Parama Purusa, I want only You. I desire You in broad daylight so I can fight with the darkness. Then I won’t become fearful of the demonic forces. Baba, remove all the negativities of my mental domain and fill it with Your spiritual nectar. Please eradicate my mundane desires and saturate my psychic realm with cosmic bliss.

O' Parama Purusa, I am constantly asking You to fulfill one request after another. I never care to think what I should offer You. Just I am a beggar before You - always asking You for more and more. Indeed I kept extending my hand, again and again, to get various mundane boons from You. Now please wipe away this pitiful tendency, and make me free from this poverty. Baba, I request You to give me that which can satiate all my hunger forever...

== Section 3: Important Teaching ==

Importance of bhakti

Ananda Marga ideology states, “What is it that is of utmost necessity for spiritual progress? The most important thing needed for spiritual progress, for uniting the individual self with Paramátmá, is bhakti.” (1)

Note: Knowing the text, Ananda Marga Elementary Philosophy (AMEP), is not at all essential for becoming an Ananda Margii and following the path of dharma. Those who are intellectually trained, i.e. are highly educated and / or have an intellectual bent, hunger for the rational explanation of this cosmological order works. And that is explained in AMEP. But truly, if we think of the common person in the world, the ideas expressed in AMEP are above their ability to comprehend, or not of interest to them. And that does not at all mean that becoming an Ananda Margii is beyond them. The main teaching, ethic, and essence of Ananda Marga is: “Parama Purusa is with me and within me; He loves me and I love Him; He is not some distant God in the sky but He is my personal God, and no one can take that away from me; and, I am to realize Him through the practice of sadhana.” This is the foundational concept for treading and advancing on the path of Ananda Marga. And this needs no formal education whatsoever.

There are many Margiis in the villages of India who are very, very simple and not educated in the formal sense; they do not care about AMEP. They never read it and they never will. But when Baba gives the truths bhakti in a brief discourse in Ananda Vacanamrtam, that speaks to their inner heart and they feel that, "Yes, Baba is Parama Purusa and He is mine." That is the most important and essential quality about being an Ananda Margii, and that is the central message of the Ananda Vacanamrtam and Subhasita Samgraha series of discourses.

In AMEP, there is no discussion of bhakti. Whereas bhakti is the main teaching of Ananda Marga ideology. That is why the discourses given in Ananda Vacanamrtam and Subhasita Samgraha are AM ideology. AMEP is an elucidation of ontology and cosmology: Baba's teachings on (1) personal existence, and (2) the origin and organization of the universe, and on the purpose of these two aspects, i.e. what is the meaning of our existence in this universe. So for intellectually inclined people around the world, the teachings in AMEP are deeply meaningful and fulfilling. But for those very same people, as well as for the rest of the people in the world, i.e. as a common denominator for all, the discourses in Ananda Vacanamrtam and Subhasita Samgraha provide the seed teachings which give sustenance and provide the spark for starting, as well as continuing, the spiritual journey.

Why not glorify + 5 more

Baba

Why not glorify

Namaskar

Those who want to highlight themselves are going against Baba's fundamental teaching. That is the theme of this letter: In a confused state they are moving in the wrong direction. It is understood that Baba condemns those who indulge in self-praise. In fact, in any civilized society self-praise is not openly accepted as it looks ridiculous - just a grand display of an outsized ego. People are ridiculed for this, so they refrain from praising themselves openly or directly.

Rather, in those so-called, seemingly civilized societies, when people have a strong desire to be praised, then they hire some other persons for this task by giving them some payment or post. And they keep those hired persons nearby; and their duty is to praise. This is the regular tactic that is done. Many egocentric kings were like that in the past. They kept certain ministers only for the special duty of praising the king. This was the only work of those ministers.

These days also many politicians pay money to the newspapers to get their self-glorifying propaganda published. To highlight their own personality politicians do like this. But this self-praise has never been accepted by a truly civilized society, or by balanced and rational people.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Now people blatantly glorify themselves

Now, however, society has become even more degenerated. Up to a few decades back no normal or respected person was feeling comfortable announcing, “I am great, I am extraordinary. I did this….” - and so on and so forth.” People would never do this for themselves; rather they had others do it for them - as noted above. But now we are in a new era; society has since changed. It is far more degenerated than earlier. Comparatively, people became so self-centered and self-engrossed that they lost their sense of propriety and impropriety. They lost their sense of decency and civilization. Now they come forward and praise themselves openly, with no shame. The ongoing situation with the various people is a glaring case of such self-propaganda. If they were more civilised they would not yearn to be praised.

These days people have become very self-centered, and this has only been compounded with the rise of social media where people glorify and gloat about their each and every action and work. Aside from social media, in various parts of the world many even prepare their own tombstones and glorify their life before they die. Otherwise they fear that after their death nobody will care about him. So they do it themselves, when previously their sons and daughters were doing this job. Those who are self-engrossed cannot think about others. Just they are busy in thinking of their own self. So in their natural course they forget about all decency and indecency, or propriety and impropriety of their behaviour.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

“Please stop praising yourself so much”

We Ananda Margiis have come in the shelter of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. We have to leave the path of dogma and follow His noble ideas - and bring our life from darkness to light. Here below Baba gives the teaching that self-glorificationis not good. One should not give way to vanity. Those who have vanity lose their sense in their speech and writing. That is why those engrossed in establishing themselves indulge in self-praise without the least care. And they forget whether what they are doing is right or wrong. With an imbalanced mind they say, do, or write something so over the top about themselves that it is altogether intolerable to others.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "“Kiirttaniiyah sadáharih”. Kiirtana should be done on Hari and on no other entity. One should not praise oneself or any other person. There are many people who are very fond of praising themselves by telling everyone what wonderful things they have done, but, as mentioned in this sloka, kiirtana is not for one’s own self but for Hari. Even though people are taught to do kiirtana for Hari, they still make the mistake of praising themselves too much. Sometimes their self-praise is so intense that others are obliged to say, “Please stop praising yourself so much.” They forget that their self-applause is rather boring for others. Human beings should realize that no one likes to hear the self-praise of others." (1)

In Him,
Jiivendra

In Prabhat Samgiita #337, says, “A’lokera path cha’r’ibo na’...A’mi nijere praca’r karibo na’..."

Purport: O' Lord, I will not leave the path of Ananda Marga ideology, the path of effulgence. I will never leave the path which You showed me. By Your grace I will change myself according to Your desire. By Your grace I will make my mind straight, focusing on You and propagating Your glory. I will never glorify my own existence. I will never propagate my own personal glories, attributions, or accomplishments. I will never praise myself in front of anyone. I will never glorify myself in this way. Because You have taught me to propagate the glory of the Supreme - the glory of Parama Purusa. So I will never praise myself….

Future of the arrogant bull

In this following story about the egoistic bull our Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji guides us.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “We have seen bulls moving about in the streets with an air of arrogance. Such a bull creates a sound expressing the idea that it is big- Ham bar’a’. But when the bull dies and ta’nt [vina string] is made out of its intestines and musicians start playing on it, the sound which is then emitted expresses the idea Tun bar’a’- meaning thereby that the bull realizes that others are big, and realizes that he has arrived at this condition because of his arrogance.” (2)

This bull-like situation we see unfolding nowadays in some so-called civilized societies.

Guru's direction: During breakfast, Baba would regularly read Ananda Marga newspapers / bulletins. If an AM newspaper was not available He would not take food till He received one. At DMC gatherings, Baba used to tell everyone that they should first read AM newspapers and support its cause.

Accept my sastaunga pranam

"A'ma'r pran'a'm na'o tumi prabhu, toma'y a'mi bha'laba'si..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2692)

Purport:

O' Prabhu, please accept my sastaunga pranam. I am surrendering everything at Your lotus feet. I love You so much. Your eternal flute calls me continuously through the omkara sound. That exquisite vibration resounds in my sleep, dreams, and awakened state.

Baba, I search for You in my each and every action. Keeping Your name in my heart, I go on fighting against all difficulties and dangers in my life, whenever and wherever they arise. In this entire universe only You are most adorable for me. I perceive You in each and every thought, word, and deed. My body, mind, and heart have become one with You. My whole existence is saturated in Your ideation. It is Your krpa’.

Baba, O’ Parama Purusa with a smiling face, You always float in my vision. Please shower Your karuna on me incessantly. Whatever my needs are, You always fulfil them. You have removed all the cimmerian darkness, dogma, negativity from my mind. By Your causeless grace, You are doing everything for me. Baba, I am pulled by the longing for You in the depths of my heart. Please accept my sa’s’t’aunga prana’m...

== Section 3: Important Teaching ==

Who is better

Ananda Marga ideology states, “The word “godly” and “god-fearing” do not have the same meaning. Behind godliness is a soul-stirring sentiment – an ardent zeal to realize one’s true Self; and the reason behind the fear of God is the important attempt to escape from the consequential suffering of one’s misdeeds. Yet the latter is still superior to the atheists, because at least for fear of divine punishment they refrain from sinful acts. The greatest advantage of the theists is that they do not endure the pangs of internal clash. But no matter how brazenly sceptics indulge in tall talks or sharpen the edge of their verbal weapons to win in an argument, there is always a fight going on in their minds. Reading a few pages of a book or listening to the eloquences of a few speakers, they seek to violate their own nature. With their fragmental external knowledge they try to struggle against the indivisible Supreme Entity, and in the end, being defeated, they say, “If He does exist, then why can’t we find Him?” Yet all the while their inner selves lament within them.” (1)

Note: There are three key and important points from the above teaching.

(1) The religions preach that one must be God-fearing otherwise God will punish and destroy you. They think that is the best possible relationship one can have with the Divine, i.e to be God-fearing. According to Ananda Marga philosophy, fear is the worst type of relation with God. If one fears Him they will not like to go close to Him. In which case, one can never become one with that Supreme Entity. So it is very obvious that by this religious formula, no one can realize God.

(2) The teachings of Ananda Marga are the topmost: Ananda Marga preaches that one should cultivate love for the Divine Entity. By that way, the bhakta wishes to go close to Him and ultimately becomes one with Him, by His grace.

(3) The status of atheists is worse than followers of the dogmatic religions. Religious adherents refrain from doing bad due to fear of the Lord. But atheists have two problems. First, they do not have any genuine, dharmic rules in their life. Secondly, such atheists perpetually suffer from existential issues. With their logic they say they do not believe in God and try to disprove His existence, yet their heart tells them otherwise. Then their logical mind retorts, “If God exists then why can I not see Him?” So they live in a perpetual dilemma—always in limbo. The all-knowing Baba knows everyone's thoughts and He says that no one is an atheist. In sum, the condition of such atheists is pathetic as they live in perpetual crisis and misery.

Inherent dangers of party politics

Prout philosophy states, “Party politics is one of the factors which stands, or tries to stand, in the way of human unity. In fact party politics is even more dangerous than disease-causing germs. In party politics all the refined attributes of the human mind, such as simplicity and the spirit of service, slowly but surely get totally destroyed. Party affiliation commands more respect than individual ability; service to self, not service to people, is the main motto; ministerial office, rather than human welfare, is considered superior; and mass deception, political somersaults, etc., are most common phenomena."

"Instead of rectifying themselves, politicians want to accomplish everything through their grandiloquence. By identifying the weaknesses in others and by resorting to bombastic language, they incite one section of people against another so that they can usurp the seat of power and cling to it. Human beings will have to remain vigilant against persons of this type."

"Politicians want to poke their noses into every aspect of life: social, religious, educational, literary, etc. Under the hypnotic spell of power, politicians remain oblivious of the fact that experience and wisdom in various spheres of life cannot be acquired by merely mouthing high-sounding slogans from public platforms." (1)

Which foods cause tuberculosis & leucoderma
Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments says, "If any person is long habituated to eating badly-combined foods, such as meat, fish, eggs and similar támasika foods immediately before or after milk, kśiira [a kind of rice pudding] and similar sáttvika foods, then those foods create a favourable condition in the body for tuberculosis.” (1)

Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments says, “Constipating foods should be strictly avoided. Foods which increase the amount of pitta should also be rejected. Fish, meat, eggs, ghee and large quantities of spices usually weaken the liver and bring about constipation, which is one of the causes of leucoderma. In this disease fish and other non-vegetarian foods are very harmful, hence they are to be avoided like poison. No matter how great is the desire for non-vegetarian dishes, patients shall have to control that desire. Leafy vegetables such as heleiṋcá, gimá, ámarula, bráhmii, etc., are most beneficial for leucoderma patients." (2)
