Cold winter night sadhana
Note: This letter is only for viirácárii vidya’ tántrikas.
Namaskar,
Here are some techniques one can employ during the very cold season when doing new moon sadhana.
[A] Warm your body beforehand and make yourself overheated. For one hour wear many layers, or use blankets etc, until you are sweating from head to toe, and then immediately go outside wearing proper clothing. That extra heat will carry over for 30 minutes or so.

[B] A humid spot is always a little warmer than a dry area. So on cold night, find a place near a river, pond, lake etc. That will be less cold due to the humidity.
[C] If it is windy then choose a location where you are protected from the wind, such as next to a tree or in lower ground. Find some natural or geographical formation that will shield you from the wind. If that is not possible then bring a tarp and hang it in a strategic place 10 feet away from your body so the wind does not directly strike on you.
[D] Select a spot under a tree with big, thick leaves, and sit on top of those leaves which have fallen on the ground. That will provide insulation from the cold or frozen earth.
[E] Bring a bottle of oil (not coconut oil, use other edible oil like mustard oil or olive oil etc), or moisturizing skin cream, and apply that oil or cream over your entire body, generously making a thick layer. That serves as an insulating layer and solves 90% of the problem.
[F] Avoid sitting directly on a rock or in a rocky area.

[G] Try to use cemeteries where there are burning bodies and select a spot near the fire.
[H] Bring a hot water bottle with you. Then empty your bladder, do kaoshikii and tandava, and then again attend to natural call. Then and drink plenty of hot water before sadhana.
[I] After all this, if you are still cold then change your posture / sitting position as needed during the sadhana session.
Addendum:
These next two points are only for those doing a few days in a month, not every night.
#1: Try to avoid fasting the day you are going for new moon sadhana.
#2: Watch the weather report and choose the warmest night of the three options.
If you follow all these points then the coldness may not be so painful.
In Him,
Tantrika

How & where ball was invented
In the following quote Baba reveals the history of the "ball" which is nowadays commonly used in innumerable games and sports. The ball is originally invented in India.
The following Baba's teaching reveals this fact.
Baba says, "The meaning of the root verb kand is 'to wallow'. We get the word kanduka (ball) by adding 'uk' to 'kand' or adding 'u' + 'ka' to kand. Its etymological meaning is 'that which rolls'; colloquially it refers to 'ball'-- a ball rolls. It should be remembered that the kanduka (ball) originated in this country. Originally, balls used to be made from cloth, but since cloth balls did not last very long people in ancient Bengal started making balls from the shoots of young bamboo." (1)
