Islamic credo in AMPS + 3 more

Baba

Islamic credo in AMPS

Namaskar,

The below article by Muhammad Anisujjaman and accompanying photo depict the mahaprayan death day occasion of Muslim follower Khan Saroyar Murshid’.

Khan Saroyar Murshid’, a school teacher, died in Bengal and they observed the anniversary the mahaprayan with many in attendance. Actually, such mahaprayan ceremonies have been popular in the Islamic tradition for hundreds and hundreds of years. They bury their dead and erect a tomb and regularly worship the tomb on the anniversary of the death. Some of the observances are large and some small - the common theme being they are regularly done.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

In contrast, other communities like the Hindus and Jains never did any type of mahaprayan observance. They would simply burn the body and spread the ashes - whereas for mahaprayan a tomb is needed. And only Muslims were doing that for mahaprayan.

Muslim tomb worship  now in AMPS

So it was only recently that other communities like the Jains and Hindus began emulating this mahaprayan observance and erecting tombs. AMPS has learned about the mahaprayan ritual from those Muslims. The proof is that you will not find old, old tombs in any tradition except Islam.

For this particular observance highlighted below, Muhammad Anisujjaman has written an obituary / eulogy in a Bengali newspaper for the mahaprayan of Khan Saroyar Murshid’, a follower of Islam. By this photo and accompanying article, it is clear they are keen to honour this death day program.

The below photo shows how mahaprayan is done by Muslims to observe the death of those mainly of the Islamic faith. Those followers bury their deceased and then perform yearly tomb worship on the anniversary of their death. Here you can see how they sit around the tomb of the deceased. This is one of the common ways they observed their mahaprayan ritual.

And here below we can see how in Tiljala they have implemented that same Islamic tradition by encircling the tomb as they perform their tomb worship during their annual mahaprayan program etc. See the below photo courtesy of Tiljala Publications.

Next, in the below piece, for the mahaprayan Khan Saroyar Murshid, the word highlighted in orange is the Bengali spelling of mahaprayan.

Annual death ceremony: not Sadguru

Naturally then, when the mahaprayan function is embraced by all as a death ceremony for human beings, then when it is done in Tiljala every year in October, all the locals think that a death ceremony is being convened---Baba is also a human being, not Sadguru.

Lowly disciples apply dogma to Guru

Taken altogether, the situation is quite pitiful. Beloved Baba is the eternal Parama Purusa yet the mahaprayan organisers are treating Him like one mortal who died.

It is just like how Lord Buddha was against idol worship; he himself did meditation. But the moment Lord Buddha left his physical body then his own disciples starting making and worshiping his idol. The dogma which Lord Buddha opposed, his own followers implemented for him. How ironic.

And now inside a similar thing is unfolding in Ananda Marga. Sadguru Baba is against the annual shraddha dogma:

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (1)

Yet certain Wts have imposed an annual death day anniversary program - i.e. mahaprayan - in Ananda Marga. And what to speak of 12 days, it is 24 years - and counting. How ironic - what Guru does not appreciate, they are doing that very thing for Him.

Every Ananda Margii should stop and think

So I ask you: Pause and think. This letter is not about groupism; this is a deeply spiritual issue on bhakti. Guru is being abused. Don't you think Guru is with you always? In the tantra of Ananda Marga, sadhana starts with this feeling that, "Guru is with me." One must have this basic feeling. So naturally every Ananda Margii thinks their Sadguru is with them. Then why are we allowing this dogmatic annual death ceremony, which is against Caryacarya.

In Him,
Jaideva

By thinking of You with all the feelings of my heart

"Tomári kathá bheve mármik anubhave..." (Prabhat Samgiita #3006)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, by thinking of You with all the feelings of my heart, my ba'ndha-bha'unga' mana [1]  (overjoyed mind) is ensconced in bliss and floats towards the godly realm. O' the Controller of the eternal and mortal worlds, the hope of the hopeless, even a wee-bit of Your mercy and love is enough to overfill my heart with spiritual bliss and give me goose bumps, horripilation, throughout my being. Baba, is it You who brings that deep spiritual surge of bhakti within me.

O' Supreme Entity, thinking about You, my mind is ensconced in bliss.

Baba, You are incomparable in rhythm and most pleasant in aroma. You have no comparison. In all vibrations, in the quintessence, deep down, You are the Dearest One to all; You are the nucleus of all the vibrations. In the garland You are the flower. In the necklace You are the jewel. In everything, You are the best. Remaining in viitara'ga [2], You smile with the beauty of prema, heavenly love like flowers.

O' Divine Entity, thinking about You, my mind is ensconced in bliss.

O’ my Eternal Friend, in the severe heat, You are those first, cool showers that bring relief and respite. In the space between the monsoon clouds, You are the effulgent polestar. In the darkness, You are the beauty of the moon's enchantment. Under the hot sun, You are cool shade beneath the trees. In each and every circumstance, You are the Saviour. Baba, even staying afar, You stay in my mind’s precious haven.

Prabhu, thinking about You, my mind is ensconced in bliss.

O' Parama Purusa, keep me eternally at Your lotus feet...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3006:

[1] Ba'ndha-bha'unga' mana: This is when the mind is overwhelmed with joy. Such as when one is extremely happy and bursts into tears or when one jumps for joy or exclaims or dances. In actuality though it is more than the joy experienced in worldly circumstances. It is that inexpressible bliss from the spiritual flow. It happens in the spiritual realm when one's mind is fully ensconced in His bliss and one starts crying uncontrollably. This is a state wherein one completely loses their composure.

[2] Viitara'ga: This is the state of being beyond any worldly attachment or attraction - i.e. perfect equanimity in all circumstances. One of the qualities of Parama Purus'a is vaera'gya.

Too much sleep ruins mind

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The first bad habit is nidra or sleep. Sleep is a state that creates a feeling of vacuity after it is over. That is, immediately after waking up people forget where they were or what they were doing before sleeping. They lose the sense of time. “What’s the time now?” they ask, forgetting whether it is day or night. If people sleep too much for days on end, this mental disorientation persists for a long time. “Is it day or night? What time is it?” they ask, confused. If this continues, their receptive and retentive powers decrease resulting in an almost total loss of mental power. They become dull, and lack courage to face life’s problems. They may have physical strength, but they lack courage. The ancient people believed that excessive sleep is good for health, but this is not the case. Rather, too much sleep not only impairs the health, but has an adverse effect on the mind." (1)

In materialistic societies, it is taught that 8 hours of sleep is essential. But that is not correct. If one sleeps deeply, then four hours of sleep is sufficient. One will awaken feeling revived and refreshed. In contrast, if one does not sleep deeply then the body will not be properly repaired nor restored. So the amount of time is not the operative factor. Rather, the depth of sleep is the key point. True sleep means a dreamless sleep - then both mind and body are quickly restored. In deep sleep, there is a complete vacuum, and one is not aware about the passage of time. In that state, only a few hours of sleep is needed.

Wt birthday? + 3 more

Baba

Wt birthday?

Namaskar,

Here we examine how some Wts are celebrating their own birthday. However, according to Ananda Marga philosophy, this goes against the very spirit and essence of being an avadhuta / avadhutika etc.

Physical birth is animal birth

Here below Baba guides us that for sadhakas, the date of one’s physical birth is not something great as it merely signifies entry into animal life.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “With an initiated person the first birth was the physical birth and the second birth was the spiritual birth, during initiation. Such a person is dvija, born twice: First, you are simply born as an animal being. But this second time, as a human being. So unless and until one is initiated one is not, one cannot be, treated as a human being.” (1)

The physical birth does not hold much significance in the life of a spiritual aspirant. When a person gets initiated onto the path of dharma sadhana, that is their real birth – i.e. getting tantric diiksa and taking shelter at Sadguru Baba’s feet. For Wt’s, the point is even more stark since as a sannyasi they have renounced their past and accepted Parama Purusa Baba as their Father, Mother, Guru - everything. In that case, there is no scope for the remembrance or celebration of their worldly birth.

For avadhutas / avadhutikas, and wholetime workers, birthday celebrations go against the sanctity of their oaths and against the ideal of their life. They have come onto this earth for something else: To serve Parama Purusa and His creation. They should sing the glory of Parama Purusa - not their own self.

Triple sin: avadhuta birthday celebrations

Unfortunately, some Wts have been organising donkey birthday parties and singing Baba's special Prabhat Samgiita #135, “Janmadine…”, in the honour of that Wt. So this is a triple sin. Firstly, Wts should not be celebrating the date of their physical birth. Secondly, Wt should not be glorifying their own unit existence. And thirdly, this Prabhat Samgiita composition is not meant for unit beings.

This blessed song - Prabhat Samgiita #135, “Janmadine…” - is to be sung to Taraka Brahma Baba during our grand Ananda Purnima celebrations. By this way, sadhakas are greatly benefited and drawn closer to Parama Purusa. This song also celebrates the grand arrival of Parama Purusa into a sadhaka’s life. So it is not a worldly birthday song for unit beings. No avadhuta or sadhaka should misuse this Prabhat Samgiita for any type of worldly birthday gathering.

So it is quite shameful and inappropriate how certain Wts have directed this Prabhat Samgiita toward themselves, as if they are the focal point of this song and their worldly /donkey birthday is so important.

Some fake avadhutas involved in birthday antics

(A) Some time back in the past, in Jharsguda (Orissa, India), there was a big donkey birthday party event held in honour of Dada Priyakrsnananda.

For those not aware, Dada Priyakrsnananda has years and years of experience in Ananda Marga and even in his early years in the Marga he was a central worker. But unfortunately, those years he was like a rock in a river. Just as the water never touches the inside of the rock despite the rock being immersed in the river, similarly Priyakrsnananda Dada was not drenched. Or what we can say.

Perhaps most surprising is that there were many, many so-called senior workers on hand for this donkey birthday gala event and in one big round, they all sang Prabhat Samgiita #135, "Janma dine...", in order to celebrate Dada Priyakrsnananda's birthday. And Dada P raised no objections. This type of dogmatic occasion is 100% against the ethics of our Ananda Marga and it sets a very negative example.

(B) Thereafter in SUVA sector, the very senior Dada Paramatmananda and Didi Ananda Shamiita organised two birthday parties - some years ago. And they insisted that Prabhat Samgiita #135, "Janma dine...", be sung. With printed song sheets etc that Dada and Didi made sure that the donkey birthday event was celebrated with this song. Sadly, some of our senior most workers do not understand the basic principles about Ananda Marga and Prabhat Samgiita. They have forgotten Guru's teachings and guidelines.

(C) Then at New York sector's Boston Regional retreat, Ac. Rainjitananda Avt celebrated his own birthday with full gusto and glory. In grand fashion, everyone present at the retreat sang a hearty round of the traditional American "Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You" song in Dadaji's honor. And during the singing one sumptuous cake was brought out and served to Dadaji. And like that the whole affair took on the flavor of one mundane Americana birthday party whereby non-margiis make a wish for mundane objects as they blow out the candles on the birthday cake and receive presents from one and all etc. So like that Rainjitanandji's celebratory occasion and donkey birthday party was carried out whereby Dada accepted the card and cake and all arrangements in his own honour. Because at that moment Dadaji's birthday was the showcase event going on at the retreat some years ago.

(D) Didi Ananda Kalyanshrii has also been involved in grand birthday celebrations. This Didi who used to be DSL Delhi and then became SWWS Delhi had big donkey birthday celebrations where all her children's home kids would sing for her. Actually this Didi has a long history of self-glorification. All recall how Didi celebrated her donkey birthday with much pomp and show.

Lowly standard of “birthday-celebrating Wts”

About any such cases where Wts go against their own code of conduct - by celebrating their worldly donkey birthday etc - Baba has given the following teaching:
"Mana na' ra'inga'ile ra'inga'ile yogii kapar'a.

"Saffron and red do not a yogiis make
With mind undyed he remains a fake."
Ananda Marga ideology states, "Dye your mind with His colour. Those who have not done so cannot attain Him, for this very coloration is Prema or Divine Love...  No external sign of Sa'dhuta' or virtue is  necessary. Become sa'dhu  within. Behind the external show of virtuousness of many so-called sa'dhus exists a pharisaic state of mind. Preserve the true dignity of the word, Sa'dhu."
Mu’r'ha mura’ye jata’ bar’a'ye...

"With shaven head or matted locks
And ashen body a Sadhu walks
With the swaggering gait of a well-fed buffalo.
And crude mind filled with thoughts mean and low."
Ananda Marga ideology states, "That is why I say that you must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with the His glorious colour." (2)

Conclusion

The sole reason for writing this letter and addressing this issue is to help those Wts rectify their conduct and improve the overall standard of our Wt cadre. If this donkey birthday problem is not solved, then some of the newer Wts many also adopt this donkey birthday ritual and prolong the dogma. Yet we should not let this problem mount. We should also bear in mind that many Wts - new and old - do not support these Wt donkey birthday celebrations yet they are not in position to rectify the matter. Whatever the circumstance, as Ananda Margiis it is our duty to bring this issue to the fore so it can be properly addressed and resolved.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Nityanirainjan Deva

Follow conduct and spirit avadhuta

How far is it appropriate & befitting for avadhutas to celebrate their own donkey birthday? Here the point is that being an avadhuta is meaningful to the degree one abides by all the guidelines and teachings and represents Ananda Marga ideologys. Who can forget that at one time Vishokananda and Madhavananda also carried the title of avadhuta. For those who do not follow the codes and standards of being avadhuta - their title of avadhuta is meaningless. Because Baba's guideline is that being avadhuta in name only is not enough - one must follow the conduct and spirit. Taking everything into consideration here following are some of Baba's important guidelines about acarya and avadhuta life.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "A'ca'ran'a't pa'thayati yah sah a'ca'ryah-- 'One who teaches through one's conduct is an acarya'.  If you cannot learn anything from the conduct and behaviour of a certain person, why should you accept that person as an a'ca'rya." (3)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an acarya...an acarya should always instruct by his exemplary actions and words." (4)

Just donkey’s birthday

In Ananda Marga, if anything is done for superficial show or in an insincere manner then that is not acceptable. For instance, if someone serves you food only to show how great they are then Baba terms that food as: Donkey Food.

Here is an English summary of that teaching: If food is not offered with that heart-felt feeling then that food is donkey food, gardabha’nna. So one must not eat that food. (5)

Similarly, sadhana done with the primary motive of showing one’s greatness instead of pleasing Parama Purusa is donkey sadhana. And if kiirtan is sung with the primary motive as a display of one’s musical talent and instead of to spread the glory of the Lord, then that is donkey kiirtan.

Likewise, when any Wt or avadhuta celebrated their own birthday in their honour instead of spreading the glory of Parama Purusa, then their celebration is a donkey birthday.

In the past the aforementioned Wts were celebrating their donkey birthday. Now we have to see if still they are involved in donkey birthday celebrations.

Which debts are irredeemable?

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “Four kinds of debt are irredeemable – debt to father, debt to mother, debt to ácárya, and debt to guru (divine debt)."

"(a) The only way to do service to one's father after his death is to help every male member of the universe to progress on the path of highest development."

"(b) The only way to do service to one's mother after her death is to help every female member of the universe to progress on the path of highest development."

"(c) The best service to the ácárya is to work for the comfort and benefit of one's ácárya and his/her family."

"(d) The best service to Márga Guru is to work according to His wishes. But however much service one renders, one will not redeem the four debts until Mokśa (salvation) is attained.” (1)

Quality of real whistle-blowers

Those who fight against injustice should have this quality:
Yadi tor dák shuńe keu ná áse;
Tave eklá cala re...
[If none to my call pays heed, Then alone must I proceed.]

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Keeping this refrain in mind, they [writers] must continue in their relentless effort to fight against the seemingly indomitable might of hundreds and thousands of obstacles which are deeply rooted in age-old superstitions that are firmly entrenched in petty selfishness. Their pens may break into pieces, their brushes may be compelled to draw only lines of water on the canvas, and their histrionic flows may end in mute protests, yet their efforts must continue unceasingly. Each of their petty defeats shall be strung together as pearls in the garland of victory." (1)

Story: phony-neohumanist + 3 more

Baba

Story: phony-neohumanist

Namaskar,

Here is one important and unique teaching from Baba that is highly suited to the present circumstances of some in our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha these days. Some margiis say that, "I am not a follower of any group, I visit every group, attend their programs, and support them psychically and economically. I am not groupist, rather I am a neo-humanist."

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Some intellectuals are in favour of respecting all religions. I say that such people cannot do anything to promote the solidarity of the human race, for most religions demand blind faith rather than rationality from their followers. “Don't argue,” they proclaim. “Accept the teachings of the scriptures for they are the direct word of God.” The cunning intellectuals of the past imposed the importance of blind faith on the minds of their gullible followers. They told them to obey the teachings, rational or irrational, otherwise there would be no respite from the endless suffering of human life, no other path to take them to the eternal bliss of heaven." (1)

In His above teaching, Baba clearly points out that those who compromise with and follow all the various dogmatic religions can never bring unity or welfare to humanity. Following all the dogmas of the numerous religions cannot bring forth one human society. Likewise those who attend all the various group functions and follow their dogma can never bring unity in our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.

Satire: "my lifestyle" part 1

(A) On Friday, I go and pray at the mosque with the Muslims. I grow my beard, eat halal meat, and perform 5 times namaz (prayer). I strictly follow all Islamic rituals and dogmas. I support the edict that non-believers of Islam should be fined, converted, or killed. On that day I only raise the slogan: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. My God is only god - all others are...

I strictly follow this prophet's ideal, “I am the last prophet. Prayers must be said before God a specific number of times in a certain manner each day. Special animals must be sacrificed on particular days. These are the wishes of merciful God. Those who follow these injunctions will attain heaven on the Day of Judgement.” (2)

On Fridays, during Ramadhan, I fast during the day and feast at night.

(B) On Saturday, I walk to synagogue with all the Jews and adhere to their dress code. I follow a Kosher lifestyle and adopt all Judaic rituals and dogmas. On that day, the torah is everything for me. And I wholeheartedly embrace the notion, "We Jews are the chosen people."

(C) On Sunday, I attend church with the Christians, and - stone to death those involved in adultery and spread communal sentiments against other religions. I also strictly adhere to all Christian rituals and dogmas. I devour meat all day long meat. On that day, I think only about Lord Jesus Christ - My God is the only God - all others are heathens. My slogan is: "“Our prophet is the only saviour. There is no escape from mundane sufferings except by taking refuge in him....Know ye, my son, thy God is the only God. All other gods are false gods.”" (3)

(D) On Monday, I go to the Sikh temple. I tie my hair on top of my head and carry a sword. I eat jhatka' - i.e. goat killed in a swift manner - and follow all Sikh rituals and dogmas. That day I only repeat the name of Guru Nanak.

Satire: "my lifestyle" part 2

(E) On Tuesday, I attend the Hindu temple to honor the monkey god Hanuman. I wear a shawl that says "Ra'm Na'ma'" and chant the holy mantra Ram, Rama, Ram, Ram, Rama, Ram. I follow all Hindu rituals and dogmas. And on that day, only I worship Ram.

(F) On Wednesday, I go to the Buddhist monastery and wear their robes and follow their customs. I chant: "Buddham sharanam gaccha'mi." I strictly adhere to all Buddhist rituals and dogmas, and fully embrace the notion, "Life is suffering."

(G) On Thursday, I practice prayer at the Jain temple. I walk there with a broom to ensure I do not step on any organisms; I sweep away all the bugs so I do not step on them. And I put a cloth over my mouth to ensure that when breathe I did not kill any organisms etc. And I follow a very strict vegetarian diet and I do not eat any root vegetables (like beets) or tomatoes - or anything that is red as it resembles the color of meet. In this way, I follow all the rituals and dogmas of the Jain religion. On that day, I only seek the blessing of Lord Mahaviira Jain.

In this way I pass the week. I do not consider myself a part of any one particular religion. Rather, I remain a friend of them all and follow all their rituals and dogmas. That is why I am a neo-humanist.

One should oppose their dogma

In our Ananda Marga, there are some margiis who say that, "I am not a follower of any group, I visit every group, attend their programs, and support them psychically and economically. I am not groupist, rather I am a neo-humanist." Such people who attend the rituals and dogmas of all the groups think that therefore they are not in any group.

Now we have to decide: If someone follows the dogmas, rituals, and narrow-mindedness of all the groups, then is that person a neo-humanist? Is that the definition of neo-humanism? If anyone goes to any group function, then they must point out the dogma of that particular gathering. This is moral responsibility of every disciple of Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji.

What commonly happens

Typically though, what we see happening is that if someone attends one group's gathering, then they keep mum about the dogma going there - they do not oppose anything; only they speak ill of the other groups. This is the common phenomenon. Verily each group has their loyal cadre of supporters who pay a blind eye and a deaf ear to the wrondoings, dogma, and injustices associated with that group. They follow the party line - completely.

The only thing worse than that are those who attend the functions of all the groups and compromise with and support (morally, financially etc) each group's dogma. This is the absolute worst category. Such persons often think that they are involved in something great like unity and neo-humanism. But, in truth, they are the agents of dogma at each and every step. You may have met some who fall in this category.

Those who attended any Fake Ananda Vanii program and did not oppose - this posting is for them. Those who attended any seminar or DMS where PP did not sing kiirtan or sit for dharmacakra etc, then this posting is for them. As we know, these are not the only dogmas there are many dogmas. Those who are new and not aware about the various dogmas, please write us.

Conclusion

Baba is adamantly against the blind following of any group's dogmas. In Ananda Marga, everything is based on logic and reasoning. Not a stitch of dogma is allowed anywhere. Ours is the path of rationality. On this point each and every Ananda Margii should be cent-per-cent firm. There is no room for compromise when it comes to groupism and dogma.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Manoj

If the jagrti of one group is near you and you are attending dharmacakra there, that is ok - as long as you do not support their dogma. For example, if in that factional jagrti a same caste marriage is being performed then do not go and support that dogma. The sign of a groupist person is that they ignore the wrongdoings going on in their chosen camp / group. And they only highlight the wrongs of other groups. Going and attending mahaprayan and keeping quiet means supporting dogma. As a dharmika, one should be active in opposing their dogma.

To remind oneself

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Almost every religion has claimed that only its followers are God's chosen people and that the rest of humanity is cursed and bound by the chains of Satan." (4)

They told them to obey the teachings, rational or irrational, otherwise there would be no respite from the endless suffering of human life, no other path to take them to the eternal bliss of heaven." (5)

About PP dogma

Baba did not make a special Caryacarya for for PP dada / didi. Because he or she is also a disciple and must adhere to Sixteen Points etc, but at present they are not doing this.

I wasted my time searching You in Ananda Nagar, Tiljala, & Jamalpur

"Tomáre khuinjiyá gechi vane vane, maner końe khuinjiyá dekhini..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2807)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, I went on searching You in the external world, in the so-called holy lands, in the forest, and in the cave of the mountain. To find You, I went to various “tiirthas”  - Varanasi, Ayodhya,  Rameshwaram, Dwarka, Puri, Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, and I also went to Ananda Nagar, Tiljala, and Jamalpur. Baba, You were not seen in any of those places. I did not get You there. I wasted my life as I never tried to search for You in the corner of my mind in sadhana. I observed many types of penance in “holy lands.” I remained engaged in external worship using the traditional paraphernalia with lots of ostentation. All the while, I never thought that You were so close to me hiding in depths of my mind.

O’ Parama Purusa, You are the invisible Entity. You are the effulgence in my ideation. Hiding in the depths of the hearts, You pour love. You are always sitting in the mind. You love very deeply and intimately. You shower Your love day and night secretly on broken hearts always.

Baba, what I understood based on my little intellect, I tried to practice with my full strength and vigour. Forgetting the path of prema and bhakti, I indulged in jinana marga. I sought You through the exploration of knowledge, remaining busy with pen, paper and ink. By this way, my time was wasted. And I could never catch hold of You.

Now, by Your causeless grace, I understand that You are always hiding in my mind. Your divine flute is always resonating. Baba, You are so gracious and loving...

Goal of Ananda Margiis vs materialists

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "The person with whom you live with all the warmth of your life will ultimately desert you – it is a cruel game. Confronted with this grim reality one should be very cautious about selecting one's goal. One thing is clear – the Supreme Entity alone should be accepted as ones goal." (1)

Note: If you ask someone, "What is the most important thing in your life?", then most will respond that it is their kids, or spouse, or job etc. Or they will say that their goal is to become a billionaire. This is what most commonly think. Their goals are mundane.  People forget that everything in this world is moving - temporary. And when one's goal is mundane then that too is transitory - here today, gone tomorrow.

It is just like if two people fall in love on the platform of the railway station, and then each gets on separate trains. Then so long as those two trains are moving at the same rate those two people can see each other. But that condition will not last long. Soon the trains begin moving at different speeds and going in different directions. Similarly, if a person thinks that their children or wife are everything, then it means they have forgotten the fact that their time together will be short-lived - for a maximum of 125 years. Either they or their family members will die first. No one can live forever.

Whose eyes have been opened by Guru

But people cannot think in this way - instead they think they will live forever. This is the play of avidya maya at work. They do not realise what is going on. Only those blessed people - whose eyes have been opened by Guru - realise that only the Cosmic Entity can be the Goal. Life is for Parama Purusa, not any mundane object. Those worldly things are for objective adjustment only.

BABA'S DISCOURSES ARE IN CRISIS

Subject: Reason behind changes / distortion of Baba discourses
Date: Thu, 20 Feb 2014 16:19:14 +0530
From: Devesh Kumar <deveshkumarb....il.com>
To: anandamarg <anandamarg@googlegroups.com>, Babasdream <BabasDream@yahoogroups.com>

Namaskar,

The truth is that errors have been happening while printing Baba's discourses unknowingly as well as knowingly. Baba delivered discourses in three languages Hindi, Bangla and English in DMC in Anandanagar. In Kolkata and in Bengali area, Baba spoke in Bengali language where as Baba spoke in Hindi language in North, West and Central India. In Overseas countries, Baba spoke only in English language.

If English book has to be printed, then Hindi and Bangla discourses will have to be translated into English. Similarly, if Hindi books are to be printed, English and Bengali discourses will have to be translated into Hindi. Sometimes double translations are happening and hence Baba’s divine words are getting distorted unknowingly.

Sometimes, translations are happening from Hindi to Bangla and again Bangla to Hindi and then printing Hindi discourses which do not match with original Baba’s spoken Hindi words. Sometimes translations are happening from Hindi to Bangla and then Bangla to English. Double translations distort Baba’s divine words to a great extent and do not match with Baba’s spoken words when compared with CD or cassettes.

In brief, errors are happening due to following reasons:

·         Error in listening from CD and Cassettes and typing different words while printing

·         Double translations

·         There are numerous instances of both intentional and unintentional errors that have crept into the printed and electronic editions of Baba's books and discourses.

If you read carefully trailing email and earlier emails on “Distortion of Baba discourses”, you can easily understand the main reason behind distortion of Baba words.

Baba says, "The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be totally flawless. And the pioneering personality must be a strict and benevolent guardian with unyielding conviction." (Namah Shivay Shantay, page.200, Edition 1995)

Baba also says, “mantra mulam gurur vakyam". Guru's word is “mantra” for all of us. Whatever Baba Says, each and every word told by Baba carries a great importance. In future, people will research each and every word told by Baba. Remember- We, unit minds, human beings, do not have right to distort or alter “HIS Words” or anything told by Cosmic mind our beloved Baba.

In view of above, it is critically important that there should be one original transcript of His actual discourses in the exact form HE gave them. In this way if there is any question regarding the meaning or interpretation of a particular published discourse, then margis can always go to the unchanged original transcript to see whether Baba's words have been changed in the published discourse? Today margii don’t know what discourse BABA has actually delivered.

Baba says, "Absolute knowledge is the direct message from God...The books in A'nanda Ma'rga philosophy are all absolute knowledge." (PNS-18, p.10)

In HIM,
Devesh Kumar

Mahaprayan of political leader + 4 more

Baba

Mahaprayan of political leader

Namaskar,

Here below is the mahaprayan commemoration of one ordinary human, Rajendra Prasad. It is not something godly and not for Taraka Brahma. As we know, the concept of "mahaprayan" is something very mundane; it signifies the death of a human being; it is a common phenomenon across the Indian subcontinent.

As evidenced below (see image & caption), the occasion of mahaprayan is everywhere; it is widely observed for the death of a regular citizen. It is not something special, unique, or divine. It is not something godly and not for Taraka Brahma.

"Mahaprayan Ghat": like your local cemetery

In this particular mahaprayan observance, attendees and admirers are observing the death anniversary of Dr. Prasad - whose ashes remain at Mahaprayan Ghat in Patna. The name of the cemetery itself is "Mahaprayan Ghat" and this cemetery situated on the riverbank houses the ashes of countless human beings. So "Mahaprayan Ghat" is an ordinary cemetery just like the local cemetery in your neighborhood.

All should be aware that the mahaprayan program is not a new phenomenon that started in 1990. As we see, Dr Rajendra Prasad had his mahaprayan in 1963, and for ages and ages before that so many humans have had their mahaprayan. Since the Sanskrit language came into existence - thousands of years ago - the mahaprayan term conveys the idea of the death of a human being.

Sadly, some have been indoctrinated into believing that mahaprayan is something divine for Taraka Brahma. They were brainwashed in this way. The truth is that in India and so many lands where Sanskrit is used, the mahaprayan program has been in vogue. Verily there is a "Mahaprayan Ghat" in Patna - a cemetery for normal humans.

Every Ananda Margii should be clear on this point: Mahaprayan is the observance of someone's death. That someone may be a neighbour, or a bank clerk, or a school teacher, etc. The death of any citizen regardless of their social standing is their mahaprayan.

Treating Baba as mortal, is sinful

Remember the program of mahaprayan is used to indicate the death of an ordinary human being who has made their departure from this world. That is why such a gathering is not done for Taraka Brahma because He did not depart - He is the eternal Parama Purusa. So the mahaprayan is for regular humans, i.e. mortals. And to apply this to that vast, timeless Entity - the Parama Purusa Baba - is sinful.

"The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings – That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone has revealed Brahmavidyá (intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Anandamúrtijii. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty." (1)

Conclusion

Some think that we should live happily and not care about all these things. That is the wrong approach and defeats the purpose of creating the organisation. All kinds of societal dogmas were in vogue and Baba has given Ananda Marga ideology to eradicate those dogmas. Naturally then we must not allow such dogmas in our very own organisation, AMPS. If we ignore those dogmas it defeats the purpose of the formation of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha. The use of the mahaprayan program for Taraka Braham Parama Purusa is a dogma. There is no annual mahaprayan observance for Lord Shiva nor Lord Krsna. The mahaprayan dogma is polluting our Ananda Marga society.

In the service of Parama Purusa,
Prahlad Upadhay

Why is your name Dayal (Merciful One) when...

"dayál prabhu bolo go tomáy, dayál náme keno d́áká hoy..."  (Prabhat Samgiita #0341)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, O’ Prabhu, please tell me why people call You Daya’l, O’ Merciful One. If You are merciful then why does the shadow always accompany the light. And why do the soft, fragrant flower blossoms have thorns. Those flower petals are very tender and soft yet they are surrounded by prickly thorns. Why is it like this?

Baba, the mountain spring is very beautiful and pure, but it always has to suffer the pain of running through rough, jagged, mountain path. The lotus flower is aromatic and lovely but it blossoms in dirty water. Why don't You provide clean water. Human life is filled with happiness and cheerfulness and gradually moves towards decay, old age, and death. Why is it like this?

People have given Your name as 'Merciful', but when You are playing this type of liila, why is Your name merciful. Please tell me. The cluster of lamps of the stars have to always wait for amavasya, the pitch dark night, in order to glitter. The small child is like the softness of one tiny flower, but always the baby cries and cries. Why is it like this? Can’t you make a child that is always happy and smiling.

Baba, why does the smiling moon only shine between the slits of the patches of dark clouds. The moon hardly gets opportunity to shine in the sky. In this world You have created the gentle, sweet breeze. The soft, tender, fragrant breeze disappears with the arrival of the hail, thunder, lightening storm that comes and ruins the scene. Why do people call You ever merciful. When there is such an irony in Your working style. Baba, please tell me...

Magic Of The Science Breathing - Svaravijiṋána

Lord says, "The process of breathing has a great influence on the human mind and self, or soul. Suppose a person is running: his or her breathing immediately becomes heavy. In that condition he or she cannot think properly; the sensory organs such as the tongue, nose, etc., cannot function properly, and as a result one's perception is impaired. Moreover, the process of breathing, depending upon whether the breath is flowing through the right nostril or the left nostril or both nostrils, influences people in various ways..."

"When doing a heavy job while breathing normally, a person might have serious difficulties – perhaps ones limbs might be broken – but in a state of baddha kumbhaka, or púrńa kumbhaka [with the lungs full], one can easily do the same work. While doing some over-strenuous activity in a state of shúnya kumbhaka [with the lungs empty] one might even die."

"Suppose you are climbing to a high place or lifting a very heavy load. If you do not follow the system of breathing while lifting the load, your hands may become painful or your bones dislocated. If you do the same work in a state of shúnya kumbhaka, you will have great difficulty – you may even collapse. If, on the contrary, you perform any strenuous activity in púrńa kumbhaka, taking a deep breath, you can easily do it. All this comes within the scope of that svaravijiṋána. You might have read in the Rámáyańa that Hanuman, by taking a deep breath, made his body swell and lifted a whole mountain. Although it is a mythological story, it refers to the science of svaravijiṋána." (Namah Shivaya Shantaya, Shiva – the Focal Point of Everything)

Two narcissistic Wts + 3 more

Baba

Two narcissistic Wts

(Unworthy fellows: Citsvarupananda & Ragodbhasananda)

Namaskar,

See here what two senior stooges of Rudrananda have done. Citsvarupananda (GS) & Ragodbhasananda have engraved their own names on a plaque that was built into the outer wall of the railway station where the small water fridge is kept to eulogize themselves. They contravened Sadguru Baba’s teaching.

Please see this below image. This is a stone wall where Citsvarupananda has engraved his name for his glorification. The money was donated by a margii, and the margii’s name is not mentioned. But this narcissistic avadhuta who merely inaugurated the smal fridge and  put this plague for his eternal glory. It is there on the Pundag railway station. This way betrayed Baba’s guideline.

Only fake sadhakas glorify themselves

"Áloker path cháŕibo ná ámi, áloker path cháŕibo ná..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0337)

Purport:

I will never propagate my own personality on any occasion. I will never promote myself or invite acclaim. O' my Lord, You have taught me to propagate the glories of the Supreme. I will propagate the grandeur of Parama Purusa - not anyone else. I will never praise myself.

O’ Baba, I will never glorify my own existence. I will never praise myself in front of anyone. O’ my Lord, I will propagate the glory of Parama Purusa – not anyone else. I will never eulogize my own self...

Frittering away begotten energy from Parama Puruśa in self-glorification

Senior stooges of Rudrananda, Citsvarupananda and Ragodbhasananda are wasting their energy in glorifying their mortal existence rather than utilizing it for propagating Baba’s dharmic injunctions. Human life is an opportunity to serve Parama Puruśa by doing His work. Once the opportunity is lost one may have to wait for an indefinite amount of time to get another human life. (Courtesy of AMNB)

WT conduct rule states, "Avadhuta will always keep himself engaged in service of Gurudeva with sincerity and devotion in thought, word and deed, in subtle and crude spheres, in inner and outer expressions of life." (1)

Conclusion

Citsvarupananda and Ragodbhasananda are involved in self-glorification like a high-profile politician. An avadhuta should dedicate his life in propagation of Sadguru Baba’s teachings rather than self-glorification. Unfortunately, these two senior stooges of Rudrananda, Citsvarupananda and Ragodbhasananda contravened all the guidelines provided by Sadguru Bábá in this regard. Being avadhutas, the conduct of Citsvarupananda and Ragodbhasananda has a direct effect on the general society. Readers are requested to contact them and ask them to rectify his conduct. In Him,
Satya’

Thanks to the dharmika who took this photo and to those who publicized the photo in order to show that this type of gross activity is not appreciated in tantrika life. This type of understanding and vision only vanguards have. I appreciate their pointed understanding of Ananda Marga ideology that self-propaganda is antithetical to spiritual progress and not allowed in Ananda Marga society as it is harmful for sadhakas.

~ In-depth study ~

Concerning sadhaka is not to be given any credit

Ananda Marga ideology says, "The duty of human beings is only to continue their efforts to please Parama Purusa. Thus when any work is done, the concerning sadhaka is not to be given any credit; the credit should be given to Parama Purus'a." (2)

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "This arrogance, which makes them want to display themselves, forgetting all other things, is termed aham'ka'ra [vanity]. The predominant vrtti  behind it is aham [ego]: 'I am everything, there is nothing beyond and outside me'." (3)

Ananda Marga ideology states, "People of action are also not free from vanity: “I did this, I did that – I built this road when I was a minister I constructed this bridge when I was in the Public Works Department” – this is how people become mad for their little “I”. Thus we see that although action is free from lethargy, it is not altogether free from vanity." (4)

Will ultimately be pulverized into dust

Ananda Marga ideology teaches us, "So you see, preya  or ka'ma  remains busy with finite units only, and thus, the ego, who is the enjoyer of such fragmentary units, must be the small ego.  It is impossible to develop such an ego which remains always absorbed in these units.  Even people of wisdom, of high social status -- even so-called intellectual and accomplished scientists and philosophers who are always concerned with earning high respect for themselves or saving their own prestige -- even they pursue sensuous or fragmentary objects for the gratification of their egos.  Perhaps they deliberately refuse to realise that these petty objectives of their egos will infuse their minds with meanness, as a result of which all their egoistic respect, prestige and status will ultimately be pulverized into dust." (5)

Betrayed Sadguru’s guideline

In this below image you can see everything regarding its location. In the upper right corner in there is a yellow sign in Hindi that says Pundag railway station. So this small water fridge is adjacent to the railway station. If you look at the tiny water booth, there is a little, white, water fridge in the center that was contributed by a margii. See how the narcissistic fellow Citsvarupananda, the stooge of Rudrananda, who is the so-called GS of AMPS hindi faction, the engraved plaque in the lower right corner of the black wall.

This way Citsvarupananda and Ragodbhasananda betrayed Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji’s guideline.

External shell will be AMPS and the inner cell will be completely garbage

Baba has made AMPS for the sole purpose to propagate Ananda Marga ideology. That is why its name is Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha which means, the organisation that propagates Ananda Marga ideology. So when these degraded people running the show these days conduct themselves in a way against the fundamentals of Ananda Marga ideology, they are striking against their core values. This all happens because of their worthlessness.

If we keep quiet and overlook the situation, then AMPS will remain in name only. They external shell will be AMPS and the inner cell will be completely garbage. That is what happened with Lord Krsna’s & Lord Shiva’s teachings. Their names remain but everything else has been destroyed. If we are not careful, this same tragedy is going to befall AMPS. So we have to be very alert.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

How a Wt should work & serve

It was very surprising and even shocking to find the glorification of those two Dadas by fixing a plaque with their names engraved on it at Pundag station. Then what is the difference between the current political leaders who gloat about their each and every deed, and AMPS whole-timers (Citsvarupananda & Ragodhabhasananda).
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Baba's below teaching guides how an ideal Wt / sadhaka should work and serve serve.

Be silent worker |" (6)

Self-praise like cat's cry

Here is the English summary or gist of Guru's above teaching:
You did a little work and propagate; "I have done, I have done . I have done this, I have done that." People praise themselves too much saying 'I', 'I'. Oh, why would you say that much I, I.

Oh, why would you say, "Meow, meow"? If anyone does "Meow, meow, meow" it is a cat.(*)

(Laughter)

What you say? Who does "Meow, meow"? The cat. Yes.

Man does a little, (showing with the two fingers and thumb of His hand) this much, and expresses (showing by expanding both the hands to max) this much.

Don't do like this. Continue to do work with His thought in mind. No need to tell anybody about it. Parama Purusa is doing every work of this entire universe. Does He talk about it? No, He does not. Niirav karmi bano, Be a silent worker. (English summary) (7)
(*) The cat makes the sound “meow, meow”, and that sound is very similar to the Hindi word for “I” or “oneself.” So according to Hindi, it sounds like the cat just moves around all day glorifying itself - meow meow. So Baba is making a joke that human beings should not glorify themselves all day long (“I did this”, “I did that”) like the cat - meow, meow.
Watch out - you may come across some Wts whose behaviour is similar - they praise themselves and say, “I did this and I did that.” As they are our family members, we should politely tell them not to praise themselves but sing the glory of Parama Purusa - not self-glorification.

Everything You do behind the scenes so no one can see

"Tamasára par páre jyoyi vartiká niye,ácho ke go ananta kála dhare...” (Prabhat Samgiita #1818)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, Who are You - since eternity You have been holding the spiritual lamp, standing across the cimmerian darkness of ma’ya’.

O' Parama Purusa, that spark of light goes on floating in all the direction. By Your grace, piercing that Cimmerian darkness, the whole universe is inundated by Your flashing sparks of effulgence which are floating on and on, endlessly. O' Witnessing Entity, You are fully aware what everyone is thinking and saying, and what they are doing. You know everything about everyone. Baba, You go on witnessing this entire liila secretly unbeknown to anyone.

O' Parama Purusa, O' Effulgent supreme Entity, You are the absolute Goal; nobody is equal to Your status, glory, and greatness. You alone have the ability and power to create or withdraw all the emanations of this expressed universe - i.e. entire creation. Within a flash, You can do anything. You are the Master of creating, maintaining, and withdrawing. In Your special secret way, You make, sustain, and finally merge jiivas back into You. You bless people with life itself, and when they become very old then You grace them with a new human body, or grant them moksa. Baba, everything You do behind the scenes so no one can see. This is Your divine liila.

O' Baba, O' Ever-new Entity, I surrender at Your altar...

All the dogmas & narrowness have been wiped away

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: This song expresses the highest realm of bhakti where the bhakta internally feels that the whole universe is dancing in His sublime flow, where everything is revolving and rotating around the Supreme Nucleus, Purus'ottama, Parama Purusa.

"Vishva doláy dol diyecho, liiláy bhuvan nácee..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2777)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, You are bliss personified, You have made this whole universe sway in the swinging of the swing. Everything is dancing in the flow of Your divine liila. In close and far, and in all the ways, You have inundated this whole universe with various tunes, melodies, and rhythms, and in rhythm of Your spiritual song. Baba, everything is revolving around You and dancing in Your bliss.

In this ra'saliila, by Your grace, that supreme flow has made everyone forget all the differences and distinctions between themselves and others. Now each person feels that all are their own - that all are part of this same universal family. Baba, by Your grace the boundaries have been shattered, the doors and windows are open; everyone is mine - ours; all are one. All the dogmas and narrowness have been wiped away by the cosmic swing. Now there is no time for bickering and infighting. Having forgotten, all fear, shyness, jealousy, and hatred, now there is only one collective march, moving towards You, rushing headlong towards Blissful Entity. The whole universe is dancing in unison, by Your grace.

Baba, this whole universe is nothing but the display of drama of Your grand liila. Everything is possible in this universe by Your grace. All happens according to Your wish. If You desire, the positive can become negative, and the negative can become positive. "No" can become "yes", and "yes" can become "no". The impossible becomes possible, and the possible becomes impossible. Your desire is everything. In this auspicious moment, when all are  blissful and floating in Your rasa, then there is no question of crying about the problems or requesting a solution. Rather everybody's heart is satiated in the sweet spiritual rhythm. Everyone’s mind is fully content and floating on the waves of heavenly bliss. This is the time to go on dancing in the eternal flow of ra'saliila.

Baba, Your endless liila is unparalleled, the whole universe is dancing in ecstasy, I surrender at Your lotus feet...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #2777:

In His diverse and colourful manner, Baba expresses His divine teachings in various ways: Spiritually through song, theoretically through philosophy, and a mix thereof using both devotion and theory. It depends on each and every sadhaka, on each and every human mind to decide which one they prefer at any given point in time.

So in His above Prabhat Samgiita, Baba is explaining His ra'sa liila in a purely devotional manner. And now in this below quote He is explaining His ra'saliila using a mix of devotional expression and theoretical philosophy. So this quote stands as another way of expressing nearly the whole of this Prabhat Samgiita.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "When devotees realise that all beings are created from a'nanda, exist in a'nanda and return to a'nanda. This realisation causes a radical change in their outlook - no longer can they differentiate between rich and poor, highborn and low-born. They observe an ocean of a'nanda flowing within and around all created beings. 'Rasa vae sah'- all are flowing in the same rasa, the same ocean of bliss. In that divine flow the devotees see Parama Purus'a dancing with each entity. In philosophy, this dance is called 'ra'saliila' [divine play in the flow of bliss]. It does not mean that someone is actually playing a flute with all the humans and cows dancing around him. Rather, it means that all the entities of this beginningless and endless universe are floating in the ocean of cosmic bliss." (1)

Baba's above guideline is a mix of devotion and philosophy and in this next quote He is explaining the overall concept of this Prabhat Samgiita in a more theoretical manner, in philosophical parlance.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Knowingly or unknowingly everyone is moving around Him. Everyone is bound to move, otherwise they will lose their permanent shelter, they will dissociate from their permanent nucleus. This movement is a natural propensity born out of love for Parama Purus'a. Love for the Supreme is a natural propensity. Intelligent people develop their natural propensities through their sa'dhana', their constant endeavour. The outlook of such people is called Ra'dha' bha'va." (2)

Personal way of viewing this Prabhat Samgiita

The above song is related with the life of each and every sadhaka. When sadhana is good then one realises the essence of this song. Then all hatred, fear, and shyness dissipates and people forget about their differences with others and see everything as an expression of His divine flow. On that occasion when their mind is immersed in His bliss then this feeling of ra'saliila is dominant in their mind. So this song is not something beyond the reach of common sadhakas. This song shows how one looks at the world and behaves with others when they are having better sadhana. By His grace, at some point or another, this is something we have all experienced.
