Baba places great importance on the study of history as it enables both individuals and communities to learn from past mistakes and thereby progress. Failing that, without the study of history, people commit the same old blunders over and over again. In which case, they remain shackled by the crimes and sins of the past and are unable to advance. So the review of history holds a unique place for the progress of any society.
As Ananda Margiis, we must know the history of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha (AMPS) and our stand on key events. Please read this below piece that clearly highlights how one Wt plagiarized and misrepresented Sadguru Baba’s teaching. This type of error is commonplace in the books and writings of our Wt . This piece was first posted in 2015 on this network, yet this degenerating and deceitful behaviour is still prevalent amongst some Wts in our AMPS.

See how one Dada lost his common sense and wrote something that was completely wrong. Yet years later that false idea was printed in one of our Ananda Marga magazines.
In His discourse, Shivokti 10, Sadguru Baba has given one special sutra: Pápasya kut́iilágatih - meaning, “The ways of sin are always crooked.” Unfortunately, later on, one “great” Dada plagiarised this very teaching of Guru from Shivokti-10 and put that sutra in his own name and in his own book. Dada published that sutra as “Prakrtiyah kut́iilágatih” - meaning the ways of prakrti are always crooked.

Dada S betrays Guru & AM teachings
Dada changed only single one word: Dada changed pápasya (sin) to prakrtiyah (prakrti). So what he did is fundamentally wrong on two fronts. Firstly, he himself committed a sin and transgressed all codes of writing and literature by plagiarising Guru’s original text. Secondly, the meaning of Dada’s manufactured sutra is wrong. Dada is claiming that prakrti is crooked. But that runs contrary to Ananda Marga ideology - the movement of prakrti is not crooked.
Not only that, throughout the entire body of Ananda Marga philosophy Baba has only used the phrase kut́iilá gatih(crooked way) to indicate the modus operandi of sin. He never used it for prakrti. So Dada S has invented something that is completely false by associating this phrase - kut́iilá gatih - (crooked way) to indicate the modus operandi of prakrti. What Dada S has done is against the teachings of Ananda Marga philosophy.
Prakrti is not our enemy
Here Sadguru Baba makes it perfectly clear that prakrti plays a beneficial role for humans on the path towards the supreme fulfillment, and that it is utterly wrong and unjust to accuse prakrti of any wrongdoing or ill dealing - or of being “crooked”.
Ananda Marga ideology states, “It is not proper to consider Prakrti the enemy of humanity. By properly employing the three attributes, humans can come to know virtue, truth and perfection. They can elevate their mental horizons with the aid of the sattvaguńa of Prakrti, which operates in the attraction process of Brahma. Is it not true that Prakrti is benevolent? To find fault with Prakrti without following spiritual practices betrays inactivity which should not be supported.” (1)
Ananda Marga philosophy says, “Vidyámáyá: The Supreme Creative Principle Prakrti that helps unit beings to move from the crude to the subtle is called Vidyámáyá. Unit beings make steady progress towards the Supreme with help of the Vidyá force of Prakrti.” (2)
Clearly, according to the teachings of AM, prakrti is a helping force - not crooked.

Prakrti constantly meditates on Parama Purusa
Now please pay attention to this following teaching from Sadguru Baba.
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Prakrti sá nitya nivrttá”. In other words, Prakrti gradually dissolves each and every moment. As a result of constant ideation on Parama Puruśa, portions of Prakrti gradually merge in Him.” (3)
Here above Sadguru Baba is telling that prakrti constantly meditates on Parama Purusa and by that way aspects of her existence become merged into Parama Purusa. Thus when prakrti herself meditates on the Supreme Parama Purusa and aspects of prakrti are absorbed into Parama Purusa, then how can anyone lay claim that prakrti is sinful, i.e. “the ways of prakrti are always crooked.” To say that - “The ways of parkrti are always crooked” - is a stark misrepresentation of Ananda Marga philosophy. Yet that is what Dada S is proclaiming in his bogus sutra.
All can see that Dada S made a huge blunder by saying that “the ways of prakrti are always crooked.”
Part of prakrti is vidya maya
It is well known that one wing of prakrti is vidya maya, and that force of vidya maya helps one reach to Parama Purusa. Without the help of vidya maya no one can reach the divine stance, i.e. Parama Purusa. So it is completely wrong how Dada S is blaming prakrti. See here how an aspect of prakrti plays a key role in helping one gain the Supreme Stance. So it is completely wrong to say that “the ways of prakrti are always crooked.”

Prakrti gradually merges in Parama Purusa
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Regarding Prakrti it is said, Prakrtih sá nitya nivrttá – “Prakrti is the entity that undergoes constant waning.” By constant ideation Prakrti ultimately dissolves Herself in Parama Puruśa. Just as Prakrti is merged in Puruśa under certain conditions, sádhakas also become one with Parama Puruśa.” (5)

And that is what prakrti is doing.

Dada Samanvayananda left Guru & openly challenged AM
Now the ghost of Dada S is harassing us. During his lifetime Dada S propagated so many wrong things in the name of Guru, and now after his death still he is doing like this. If anyone thinks this is too harsh a characterization of Dada S, then it seems you have forgotten how Dada S betrayed Guru during the time when Baba was in jail. Those days the situation was very tense and grave. Nobody knew what was going to happen. And in that darkest hour, Dada Samanvayananda left Guru and openly challenged Ananda Marga by creating his own competing organisation, Prema Marga.
Now please pay attention to Baba’s following teachings.
It is clear that the term kutiila carries so many negative meanings, yet Dada S uses this same term to describe prakrti. How could he blame prakrti in this way. But if still for some reason you are not convinced then continue reading further down.
There are many who have the sole motive of highlighting themselves by plagiarising bits and pieces - or whole paragraphs - from great writings in order to construct their own thesis. Those who fall for this sham and believe them are idiots. That is what has happened here.

Dada Samanvayananda is the Dada S who stole and plagiarised Guru’s shloka and twisted it in the wrong way. Dada Samanvayananda did this years and years ago. And now, two so-called purodhas - who are not aware about Ananda Marga philosophy - have published Dada Samanvayananda’s bogus sutra in Prajina Bharatii. So these two purodhas editors - Dada Rakeshananda (editor) & Dada Amaleshananda (sub-editor) - have no idea what they are doing. Otherwise they would never have placed Dada S’s things in the esteemed magazine, Prajina Bharatii. This is the unfortunate affair.
As you may know, Dada Samanvayananda died long back, but we see how his ghost is still affecting and harassing Ananda Margiis.
Sadly, this chapter will not end soon because we have unqualified purodhas running this Ananda Marga magazine. They will not learn from their mistake and will undoubtedly create more blunders soon. Reason being they are stooges not purodhas. The way things are going now in the organisation, we will not have real purodhas anytime soon. Only stooges and idiots get the post, not others. That is why we take all their dealings with a grain of salt.
If still confused then please read the below quote about the role of prakrti. Without the help of prakrti (vidya maya) one cannot reach to Parama Purusa. On a daily basis vidya maya is helping in this regard.

They do more harm than good to the society
Here below Baba guides us that the scriptures should always be interpreted by competent people otherwise their explanation will be a mess.
Ananda Marga Philosophy in Nutshell says, "Without proper interpretation, the shástras remain difficult to understand and sometimes unintelligible. Thus the scriptures should always be interpreted by qualified scholars, competent philosophers, and penetrating thinkers. If one tries to interpret a profound scripture with superficial knowledge, the interpreter appears ridiculous and the audience is confused."
"There are some people who are neither scholars, nor philosophers, nor penetrating thinkers, but merely wander about interpreting scriptures as a means of livelihood. They utterly fail to present the proper matter in the correct perspective before the audience. Such people may be successful in earning a living in the name of shástra vyákhyána, but they do more harm than good to the society. There are still others who interpret the scriptures just to exhibit their intellect – to procure for themselves a certificate of erudition. They too remain far from the living spirit of the scriptures." (10)
Sadly, that is exactly what happened Dada Samanvayananda. In hopes of boosting his own image and earning some money by selling his book, Dada S tried to explain Guru’s scriptures. And in the end, he just created a mess. For all the details, please re-read above letter and you will see how Dada Samanvayananda completely missed the point.
Avidya maya is an essential factor for bringing people onto the path of dharma. So then how can someone say that the ways of prakrti are always crooked.

What is kut́iilá gatih
Ananda Marga philosophy states, ”The matter does not end here. The wickedness, the deceit, that pollutes human society first moves along a crooked path like its masters, and finally ends up by annihilating its masters themselves. The wicked persons at the helm of affairs, who are now out to liquidate others, will one day themselves be liquidated and erased from history by their own followers. Sinful persons, by following the crooked path, contaminate the atmosphere of the universe, but ultimately that sinful conduct, in a similar crooked way, will recoil like a boomerang on the sinners themselves.”
“Those who deprive others of justice, who stifle others’ voices and try to immortalize themselves by their own loud proclamations, are themselves usually deprived of justice in the end. And their loud cries which had risen to the skies, are smothered in the underworld. Shiva the Omniscient was aware of these hard realities. So He warned the devoted and dharmic people, Pápasya kut́iilágatih [“The ways of sin are always crooked”]. (11)
By the above it is clear that the term kutiila has a very bad and abominable meaning. It is very negative; such a term is used to describe dastardly communist and fascist leaders like Stalin and Hitler who murdered millions in concentration camps. They were all on the path of kutiila. Prakrti is not like that.
Remember, throughout the entire body of Ananda Marga philosophy Baba has used the phrase kut́iilá gatih to denote sin - He never used it in any other way. So Dada S has invented something that is completely false by associating this phrase - kut́iilá gatih - with prakrti. What Dada S has done is against the ethic of Ananda Marga philosophy.
Meaning of kut́iilá
By the below teaching, it is clear that the term kutiila carries so many negative meanings.
“The root verb kut́a is used with several different meanings, for example, “to walk a crooked [kut́ila] path”, “to make somebody walk a crooked path”, “to be dishonest”, “to make somebody dishonest”, “to walk on the path of adharma [unrighteousness]”, “to make somebody walk on the path of adharma”, “to strike”, “to create obstructions in the path of honesty”, “to cut into pieces”, “to build a wall of obstacles”, “to peck or to nibble”. There are also different etymological meanings based on these usages. The colloquial usages of the word kut́a are as follows.” (12)
By the above teaching, it is clear that the term kutiila carries so many negative meanings, yet Dada S uses this same term to describe prakrti. How could he blame prakrti in this way.
Sadguru Baba states, “Vidyámáyá: The Supreme Creative Principle Prakrti that helps unit beings to move from the crude to the subtle is called Vidyámáyá. Unit beings make steady progress towards the Supreme with help of the Vidyá force of Prakrti.” (13)
Story harassing even after death
Before explaining further about the gross errors Dada S has made, one story comes in my mind. All know that there are many good people in Bikaner (Rajasthan, India) but also one very notorious person was born there as well. And this is the story of that wicked man.
This man passed his whole life harassing and torturing innocent villagers in his locale. He taunted and abused them in all kinds of ways, like false court cases etc. This went on for decades. When he was nearing the end of his life, it struck him that when he dies he will no longer be able to harass those villagers. So he devised one special way whereby he would be able to harass those villagers even after his death.
Here is what he did - this is the plan he came up with.
When that wicked man became terminally ill with cancer and was essentially on his deathbed, he hatched one nasty plan to entangle and harass those innocent villagers for the days and years to come. First that man went door to door throughout the village and feigned repentance for his many misdeeds. He talked to each family individually. He pledged to those them that, “I am a sinner and I harassed you for years and years, and now I am going to die from cancer. I beg you to help me and forgive me for my sins.”
Seeing the plight of that man and hearing his plea, one by one, each family forgave him.
Then the man told, ”There is one more thing I request of you. Your granting forgiveness is not enough. My soul will not be satisfied unless you hang my corpse from a tree and beat it mercilessly with on stick etc.”
Hearing this the they looked quite concerned; the various families each replied that they could not commit such an act.
The wicked man added, “Please, I beg of you. This is the only way I can reach to heaven.”
Hearing this, the various families thought further, and one by one each agreed to satisfy the man’s wishes. On their own they promised to keep this entire ordeal secret. The man thanked them countless times as he took leave of their company.
Immediately, that wicked man scurried to the police department and offered them a large bribe. He said that, “These villagers are my enemies and they have a plan to assault me even after my death. To take revenge on me, they are going to ransack my corpse. Specifically, they are going to hang my dead body from a tree and whip it with sticks.”
The man requested, “As policemen, it is your duty to uphold the dignity of my being and not let my corpse be beaten and destroyed in this manner.” The officers agreed.
Thereafter, the man approach his wife and told her, “After I die, then your first duty is to inform the policemen of my death.” Soon afterwards, that wicked man breathed his last on this earth and news spread of his passing.
Per their promise, those villagers tied and hung the man’s corpse from a tree and began whipping that corpse to ensure that man went to heaven.
When the policemen came upon this scene, then they immediately arrested all those villagers and put them in jail. By this way, that wicked man was able to harass and torture those innocent villagers even after his death.

"For ages together simple innocent people have been taught that they belong to a low caste. If one asks them to sit on a chair they will reply, "No, I am fine here on the floor". Even if the mind gets an opportunity to become independent, it cannot function freely. Just as that little bird kept confined to a cage develops rheumatism in its wings, the human mind, due to constant negative thoughts, gets paralysed. It is not the so-called upper castes only who are to blame – the so-called lower castes have passively accepted this sad plight like the caged bird, and have even sometimes encouraged it. This is a shame, a matter of immense regret." (1)
"If a flying bird is caged for long, it loses its ability to fly. If the door of its cage is unfastened accidentally, it thinks, "What benefit will I derive flying in the distant blue sky? Let me pick up seeds, sitting on the perch of my little cage."
"Now, if people have been educated in a distorted manner and their minds crippled, they are unable to stand independently. If their minds have been molded by propaganda for a long period, they cannot utilize the opportunity [for freedom] even if it is presented to them." (2)
"Common people have been taught for ages that they belong to a low caste or class. Even if you offer these downtrodden people a chair to sit by you, they would murmur, "No sir, I am all right – let me sit on the ground." That is to say, their minds cannot function properly, just as a bird’s wings become totally inactive in a cage. People have been accustomed to such repressions for thousands of years – the exploiters have injected fear-complex in their minds to control them." (2)
Note: In above teaching Baba is guides us that when people are suppressed and repressed for ages, then they think that is normal. They feel very happy and content being shackled in this way. One such example is the condition of the females in the below photo. They are like caged birds. They like to live in the cage. And if anybody opens their cage - instead of flying out - those birds retreat to the back of the cage as they do not like to come out.
These below females are protesting against the laws that eliminate veil. they are protsting to keep their veil. this is ideal example of a repessed and crippled mind. expin in above ttwo qupts/ situaion is pathetic / various communities if suppression goes on for long time then exploited mass feels very comfortable in that sitjion. it takes hercuana efforst to convince these extreely dogmatic peopl to make them aware about the plight.
Those who are true sadhakas have great responsibility to remove all kinds of dogma which is ruining the whole human society.
