Uncivilized Wts + 5 more

Baba

Uncivilized Wts

Namaskar,

The following letter has been written to alert margiis how some of our Wts lack the requisite courage to give proper respect to the Propounder of Prout, Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar. Unfortunately, they address Him in an undesirable manner.

In every Prout book there is a photo of Baba on the page preceding the table of contents. And that photo is signed by Baba. And the signature reads as: Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar. This guides us that under the platform of Prout - and in other spheres - we are to address Him in this manner. But now we see many are not doing like this - including highly posted purodhas etc. If some new initiate commits such a blunder it is pardonable. But when so-called Wts do it then how can one keep quiet. Our duty is to unmask their hypocrisy.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

True followers always show respect

In all spheres of life, people give maximum reverence and high regard to those whom they revere. For example when the pope or Dalai Lama are introduced then words like "his high holiness", "revered one", and "divine being" are used.

The followers of Ramakrsna, Yogananda and Vivekananda always use Swamiji or Thakur and then they close with Paramahansa. These titles show great respect and reverence. Likewise the laukik name of Nima'i is not so impressive sounding that is why followers refer to their saint as Caetanya Mahaprabhu.

Example of self-aggrandizement and hypocrisy

As the main guides and leaders of most AM magazines, Wts often ensure that they are always referenced in a most honoured way with their full Wt name and title, but for Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar they often trim it down to PR Sarkar.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Verily, Wts glorify their own name in more creative ways such as by prefixing their name with their title and suffixing it with avadhuta etc, such as Acarya Z Ananda Avadhuta. Plus they pad their names with prestigious titles - like Editor and Publisher as well. So now we can ask ourselves was this not done to glorify themselves. But for the Propounder of Prout they trim it down to PR Sarkar - let alone using the full name Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. So see their hypocrisy.

Now see the below image where Baba has signed His full name in Bengali as: "Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar".

Always proper due reference is given

Even when worldly leaders are introduced, then always proper due reference is given. They are known as "Mr President", or "Mrs Prime Minister", or whatever their respected title may be. Hence it is quite common to publicly revere leaders - whether they be a leader of a church, state, or mission.

By this way, the rest of the world knows that that person is a respected one. People may or may not be catholic, but because those catholics revere the pope up to the sky, then everyone on this earth feels that the pope is someone of great stature and import. Same is the case with the Dalai Lama, Ramakrsna, and the leaders of various countries.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

In contrast, if their own followers do not give them reverence on the public stage, then the rest of the world will automatically think that that so-called leader is not so great - rather he is just a second rate individual, or worse than that. Hence, it is extremely important for one to give great reverence to those whom they revere.

Unfortunately some of our so-called great in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha nowadays have fallen into the extremely negative habit of just writing 'PR Sarkar'-- and in some cases they just write 'Sarkar'. By quickly surveying the books, articles, and emails of "writers" then we can see this unfortunate form of expression.

Not only that, such WT writers and publishers in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha who write about Baba refer to themselves as Avadhuta / Avadhutika along with their roles like Editor & Publisher. Yet when they refer to Baba they write "PR Sarkar" or just "Sarkar". Such Wts are shameless. They are keen to honour themselves and quick to dishonour Baba.

They never refer to the queen as Lizzie

And overall this has a negative effect across the entire society. Because then non-margii writers adopt this same ungainly approach and they just write 'PR Sarkar'. Whereas if such mundane writers were aware that our "top" writers and margiis always respectfully refer to Revered Baba as 'Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar' then they would get a good teaching and follow our example.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

It is just like how mundane or non-British reporters always refer to Queen Elizabeth using the title "Queen", and they always refer to Prince Charles using the reference of 'Prince'. Never do they just write “Elizabeth”, “Lizzie”, or “Liz”, or “Charles”, or "Charlie". And if they did, then the public would object. Because everyone has become taught and trained that "Queen Elizabeth" and 'Prince Charles' are the proper ways.

Similarly, Catholics address their leader as His Holiness Pope Francis. The Pope's worldly name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, but no Catholic would ever consider calling the Pope, "Jorgie / Jorgey". That would be a terrible display of disrespect. No Catholic could ever imagine doing that. Rather, they refer to him as His Holiness Pope Francis. And by this, they teach others to do the same. Lay people, heads of state, newspaper reporters, indeed everyone refers to the Pope in a most respectful way. All because that is the tone and address used by the Pope's chief followers, i.e. catholics.

Although we are not trying to emulate the British monarchy or the Catholic Church etc, but when Baba teaches to use shrii then this particular point is meaningful. The idea being that if we ourselves are perfectly consistent in always giving proper reference to Baba as 'Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar' then people of the general society will also follow suit. It will become natural for them. And that will be the proper way to introduce non-sadhakas to Baba as well as the proper way for Ananda Margiis to refer to His social name Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar.

Full vs. short

One related key point is that PR Sarkar could refer to Pramod Rai Sarkar, Paramatma Ram Sakar, Prabhu Rsi Sarkar or countless other names. So in addition to using Shrii, we should  always employ the full form of Baba's name, i.e. Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Along these lines there is one famous story. When the police came to arrest Baba, they arrived with an arrest warrant that said "PR Sarkar". Baba refused to recognise the warrant as being legitimate. He said, "That is not my name; that warrant could be for so many other people whose initials are PR." On this point, the police accepted defeat so they left without Baba and came back with a new warrant that stated Baba's complete name. So we should always employ His full name - Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar - when referencing Him in any way, especially on the public platform.

Coward often goes opposite to Baba

Any type of casual or lesser way of referring to Sadguru is not only objectionable but absolutely abominable. Nobody should do such sin. In the scriptures it is said, "Shive rusto..." The meaning is that if Guru is displeased, then nobody can save that person. Reverence and pleasing Guru is very important. To do this, Baba taught us many things including how to address Parama Purusa, Mahasambhuti, Taraka Brahma.

To teach us Baba has given very clear example while writing the books about Shiva and Krsna. The names of these two books themselves are very honorable and respectful. For example Lord Shiva's book is "Namah Shivaya Shantaya". And the meaning is, "Salutations to Lord Shiva who is the Ever-Tranquil Divine Entity." And similar way about Lord Krsna Baba has titled the book as "Namami Krsna Sundaram". That is, "Salutations to Lord Krsna Who is the Ever Beautiful and Charming Divine Entity".

By this way Baba has given one glorious example. And the motive was only to teach us how we should address Guru. He does not address Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna in a casual manner. So when we refer to Baba it should be done in the most reverential and respectful terms.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

It is Baba's system that He prefers that His name should be prefixed with Shrii. That's why He signs in this way. As His disciples we should address Him in the way in which He prefers most.

There is no excuse for...

Some may say that Wts err in innocence. But let us remember that often we are talking about a very senior Wts who are well aware of Ananda Marga scripture and someone who has certainly read Caryacarya. As a reminder here is what it says in Caryacarya.

Caryacarya states, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings - That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone has revealed Brahmavidya (intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtijii. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty." (1)

By the above passage, Caryacarya clearly guides to give maximum respect to Marga Guru. And we have to convey this sense of reverence so others will also learn. Hence, there is no excuse, being a senior WT and having studied Caryacarya, there is no logical or rational reason why those Wts would refer to Baba merely as PR Sarkar.

To top it off, when it comes time to see their own name in print they write with all kinds of respectful titles. So with their own name they garner maximum reverence, but with our revered Baba they could not do the same. By all this, the world is not going to respect Baba when they read such an article, and secondly, any margii who reads these types of articles will certainly feel that such Wts are arrogant and lack proper feeling and respect for Guru.

Example of self-aggrandizement and hypocrisy

Yet, as the main guides and leaders of these magazine, Wts ensure that that they are always referenced in a most honoured way. They write their own name in full glory like Acarya Z Ananda Avadhuta etc, but for Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar they trim it down to PR Sarkar.

But not only that, these Wts glorify their own name in more creative ways such as by adding to their name with Avadhutika / Avadhuta and preceding or suffixing their name with Acarya. Plus they even present themselves with prestigious titles as Editors and Publisher as well. So now we can ask ourselves what do they not do to glorify themselves. If they had the opportunity they would have put their name on a flag and stuck that in the moon. They are suffering from the disease of self-aggrandizement, when referring to Baba the Propounder of Prout they trim it down to PR Sarkar - let alone using the full name Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. So see the hypocrisy of such WTs.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Pride & lack of courage

Due to self-pride, such Wts have the courage to refer to themselves as Acarya but they have no such mind or courage to refer to Baba as Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar etc.

Baba says, "One should not be proud of his post, position, beauty, wealth, honour, or knowledge. All belong to the Divine Entity, Parama Purus'a; nothing is mine." (2)

Baba says, "A person boasts of learning, intellect and fortune. But nothing is eternal. Therefore one who boasts of anything of this world is a fool." (3)

By the above quotes, the level of their standard is quite clear.

About such cowards

About such cowardly Wts who dress up in saffron garb, Baba has said the following:

Mana na' ra'inga'ile ra'inga'ile yogi ka'par'a.

[Saffron and red do not a yogi make
With mind undyed he remains a fake.]

"Dye your mind with His colour. Those who have not done so cannot attain Him, for this very coloration is Prema or Divine Love... No external sign of Sa'dhuta' or virtue is necessary. Become sa'dhu within. Behind the external show of virtuousness of many so-called sa'dhus exists a pharisaic state of mind. Preserve the true dignity of the word, Sa'dhu."

"Mu'd'ha mu'ra'ye jata' v'ar'aye....

[With shaven head or matted locks
And ashen body a Sádhu walks
With the swaggering gait of a well-fed buffalo.
And crude mind filled with thoughts mean and low.]

"That is why I say that you must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with His glorious colour." (4)

The following is from her very Nava Cetana’ magazine January 2016 issue stands as an example and proof how she actually had her name printed in this publication:
Now see another appellation and title used for Didi in this same issue of the magazine. Here above Didi is given the title of “Avadhutika” before her name and after her name she is called as “Acarya.” Plus her prestigious posts have been given as well: Editor & Publisher.

Into my dark cottage

“Aandhakár ghare mor, ke go ele tumi ke go ele,
dekhite páini jánite párini, kemane ele kakhan ese chile...” (Prabhat Samgiita #3042)

Purport:

Most Brilliant Effulgent Entity, who are You who came into my dark cottage, that mind devoid of bhakti which was filled with ignorance and dogma. I was there by myself in a lonely, depressed state, thinking that nobody cares about me and that I do not have any future. Then suddenly You arrived. I did not see by which path You came. Your arrival was a surprise and unknown to me. Charming One, how and when did You get here. Please tell me about Yourself.

My Most Radiant Entity, You did not knock on the door. Without any hint and unbeknownst to me, with Your silent footsteps, You entered into my home and came into my heart. Shining One, with Your splendid and exquisite beauty, You brightened everything with Your auspicious presence. With Your grandeur, You showered Your divine krpa' - causeless grace - on an undeserving sadhaka like me who is worthless, and does not follow Your dharmic guidelines. Please tell me why You care for and love me so much, and came running to rescue me.

Parama Purusa Baba, upon noticing Your presence, seeing You I became captivated by Your unparalleled beauty. I gazed in awe of You. I was ensconced in the bliss of Your liila rasa. Mohan, I got You. It is Your grace. You are the ocean of liila. This is what is called Your karuna. You are Karunamaya - compassion personified. I do not have words to express my feeling. Only one wish I have: Please keep me forever in Your shelter, and allow me to touch Your feet...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3042

Krpa' & Karun'a' Not Same

[1] Krpa & Karuna: When a sadhaka does sadhana, follows Sixteen Points, and adheres to all conduct rules etc, and Parama Purusa is satisfied by his efforts, then He showers His grace. That is krpa'.

When a sadhaka tries to follow Guru's teachings and He blesses that is His krpa. Without His krpa', one cannot reach the Goal. So to get His krpa one must do sadhana. But even then it is not a guarantee. And without doing anything, you may not get His grace / krpa'.

But, no matter how much sadhana one does, one cannot challenge or demand that Parama Purusa must shower His grace / krpa'. For instance, one has no recourse to say, “Parama Purusa, I did this, this, and this so You must grace / krpa' me.” One cannot put forth such a demand. The showering of krpa is His sweet will.

Karuna is different. If you do not do anything and you are in a terrible state and suffering a lot, then by seeing your suffering if He showers His blessing then that is called His karuna - divine compassion. That is also per His wish. Nobody can say, “I am suffering so much so You must shower Your karuna on me” - as if this is one's expectation. Only one may plea unto Him, “Parama Purusa, please shower divine, causeless karuna if You so wish.”

Thus no one has any logical claim or just cause to demand His karuna. It is not based on cause and effect - or some type of barter system. No matter how much social service one renders, no matter how much sadhana one does, and no matter how terrible a situation one endures, no one can therefore say, “Now You must grant me Your karuna.” There is no bartering involved; that is why His karuna is causeless. But after all, every bhakta has the right to ask for His grace.

So both His krpa and karuna are non-causal.

Making A Joke About Krpa

Here below Baba is making a joke about krpa to make us laugh; it is not our real philosophy - just humour. Many will recall how after composing every song then Baba would request everyone’s permission for that song to be included in the Prabhat Samgiita collection - otherwise He said He would throw the song away. Those days all understood that this was Baba’s humorous approach. Nobody thought that really if they did not approve then that song would be tossed away. In the same light, Baba has shared this below joke with His bhaktas.

“What is krpá? You know, Ramakrishna Paramahansa was not a learned man in the mundane sense. Once upon a time a very learned man said, “Oh, Ramakrishna, people say everything depends on His krpá.” …. “So, what is the meaning of krpá?””
“Ramakrishna said, “You know, I am an illiterate fellow, but according to my view, krpá is made of two syllables, kr and pá. Kr means Karo, karo, karo – ‘Do, do, do – Do your sádhaná, do your sádhaná, do your sádhaná.' And pá means Páo – ‘Get'. ‘Get it, get it, get it, get it.' That is, ‘Get it by doing sádhana' – Kr-pá.”” (1)

In the above quote, Baba is making a joke because krpa is not attained by doing and receiving. It depends exclusively on His will.

Liilá Rasa & Rásaliilá Not Same

[2] Liila Rasa: This literally means the flow of liila. When Parama Purusa makes His bhaktas dance there is a mental flow. The mind reaches a certain stage, by His grace. The bhakta feels unfathomable bliss and that flow continues on. In that sweet flow, one cannot forget Parama Purusa as the bhakta is ensconced in His ocean of bliss.

In mundane life, you can think of it this way. Suppose someone is involved in a worldly problem and the mind is completely consumed by that tragedy such as a death of loved one. Then one is immersed in that loss and one cannot think of anything else. In contrast, in spiritual life when one is wholly ensconced in His divine bliss then we can say that the bhakta is floating in His liila rasa.

Rásaliilá: Controlling Entity Standing In The Middle Of This Divine Ocean

So liila rasa and ra'sa liila are not the same thing. Here below Baba describes the former - i.e. rasa liila.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “This entire Cosmological order is an infinite ocean of divine nectar. And the so many vibrations created in this universe, so many waves are different devas. And the life of an individual moves---goes up and down---just like the boat in a sea, according to the rhythms of the waves. This rhythmic expression of the divine nectar, of the divine wave has got an acoustic counterpart also. It is not only moving, it is not only dancing, it is singing also. And these movements, these vibrations, these waves, these acoustics are being controlled by the divine flute of the Controlling Entity...”

“...according to the rhythms created, according to the rhythms emanated from His divine flute. And He is in the center of this ocean of divine nectar. In the ocean, this kśiirasamudra, in sudhárasam. So He is standing in the center playing on this divine flute, and all the jiivas are dancing according to His desire. One will have to dance according to that Cosmic rhythm. One may or may not like it, but one will have to dance. This liilá of that Parama Puruśa, who is the controlling entity standing in the middle of this divine ocean, is known as His rásaliilá.” (2)

Cause of carbuncle

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Do not tolerate injustice. This will...will cause a serious carbuncle to grow on the vast body of society. That carbuncle will be so poisonous and infectious that it will infect the entire society. Do not allow such a thing to happen under any circumstances. Now that your eyes are opened, keep following the practical path." (1)

Why Buddha was branded as atheism

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “About 2500 years ago, when the sun of Árśa Dharma was about to set, when it was limited to a series of cruel sacrifices and ritualistic ostentations, without any devotion or idealism, a simmering discontent brewed in the hearts of honest, intelligent and rational people. They could not express their suppressed agony – that this lifeless, substanceless dharma [Mayavada] was like a fruit without any pulp, unable to satisfy the deep hunger of the human heart. In fact, in most cases it was only a handful of people, motivated by the instinct of greed, who were beating the drums of dogma and ruthlessly exploiting innocent people. Many tried to infuse fresh vitality into this stagnant and turbid pool of social life. Those who deserve special mention are Maharśi Brhaspati (popularly known as Charvaka), Vardhaman Mahavir and Gautama Buddha. Buddha opposed those ritualistic religions in clear language and advised people to follow the path of morality. He said, “Prepare yourself and truth will spontaneously manifest itself before you.” Buddha did not say anything specifically about Iishvara, his views about átman were vague, and he clearly rejected the Vedas; for these reasons the doctrine of Buddha was branded as atheism.” (1)

Way to clean AMPS

Ananda Marga ideology says, "You must continue doing good to society, and at the same time must fight against the bad...On the path of dharma, one is not only to do noble deeds; one must also fight against the dishonest people both are virtuous actions. There are many good people in the society - noble people engaged in noble deeds - who are not ready to fight against wrongs and injustices. This sort of passive benevolence does not really promote the cause of human progress in the world. What is desirable is to acquire virtue by doing noble deeds and fighting against all sins and crimes. Both are mandatory, both an integral part of dharma." (1)

Note: If we follow Baba's above mandate, our organisation will be free from all kinds of negativity. Stagnant minded people will not get the opportunity to pollute Baba's ideology by imposing their dogma.
