There is a lot of misunderstanding surrounding the practice of silent action. One commonly missed yet highly significant point is that Baba has given silent action as a right for each and every individual. Indeed, it is not simply a right, but a human right.

Silent action: a cardinal human right 

It is just like how each and every person has the right to live, the right to speak, the right to express their feelings, etc. Similarly, every human being has the right to oppose injustices. 

Ananda Marga ideology states, “What is silent action? Suppose there is a complaint against an ácárya/á and you know for sure that it is valid. The Acárya Board may take two months, four months, or a year to make a decision about this ácárya/á. But why should you wait that long for the decision? Under such circumstances you should take silent action – that is, do not accept the person’s ácárya-ship.” (1) 

But, since 1990, in most cases if silent action is taken towards a worker with poor conduct, then that degraded Wt will exact revenge on that margii. By this following example it will be more clear.

How silent action is perceived by wrongdoers


These days some acaryas (Wts or even family acaryas) get caught in illicit affairs with a member of the opposite sex in XYZ area. Then if a margii living and working in XYZ area takes silent action against that degraded worker, then most assuredly that acarya takes revenge.

The acarya thinks, “How dare this person take silent action against me - he is working under me. I will not tolerate such things." In this way, that acarya does anything and everything in his capacity to lash out against that simple, innocent margii.

Unfortunately, that is the way things have been going on in the organisation since 1990. So we should think how and why this negative situation has occurred. Certainly one operating factor is that the devious acarya in question knows Baba’s system, but due to an evil mindset does not recognise that the margii has the right to do silent action and oppose the wrongdoing of an acarya, i.e. there is a contravention of Ananda Marga conduct rules. 

If the devious acarya were to do some self-analysis and review his own actions then he would surely reach the point, so long as he has bhakti. That acarya would understand that the margii felt compelled to take silent action because he (the acarya) was acting in a degrading, anti-social manner. And verily this is Baba's system. Baba has instructed us all and granted us the right to use silent action when there is a contravention of Ananda Marga Wt conduct rules.

Conclusion


Ananda Marga ideology says, "Under such circumstances you should take silent action - that is do not accept that person's a'ca'rya-ship. It is a question of human rights." (2)

Silent action is an inherent  human right. But due to self-interest, the devious acarya in question cannot think clearly on this issue, and he will lash out at anyone who takes silent action against him. Here the main problem is that although Baba has given the dharmic right of 'silent action', some evil minded acaryas wrongly retaliate.

== Section: Important Teaching ==

No clapping at spiritual gatherings


Here Baba guides us that one should not clap at spiritual gatherings. 


Sadguru Baba says, “Hey! No clapping.” (1)


According to Baba, in certain collective Prabhat Samgiita compositions based on Middle-Eastern tunes, it is permitted to clap along with the musical beat of the melody (Ref: Ananda Vacanamrtam - 46 (Pure), chapter 4). Similarly, there are times during the collective chanting of some types of kiirtana when one may clap along with the tune of the kiirtana. 


The main thing is that clapping is never done as an expression of appreciation or approval etc at spiritual gatherings. Rather, one should direct the mind inwards, not towards crude, external engagement.

हे परमपुरुष, तुम्हें न पाने कारण मेरे हृदय में जो कष्ट हो रहा है, उसे तुम अच्छी तरह से जानते हो


नोट :- कोई जो दूर है तो उसका ध्यान आकर्षित करने के लिए ‘हे’ बोलकर उसे पुकारते हैं, जैसे “हे, रामू”। लेकिन अगर कोई मेरे सामने है और मेरी तरफ़ देख रहा है उसे ‘हे’ बोलकर सम्बोधित नहीं किया जाता है। परमात्मा सदा साथ हैं और हमको लगातार देख रहे हैं इसलिए उनसे बात करते समय “हे, परमात्मा! हे, बाबा,” बोलकर भक्त कभी सम्बोधित नहीं करता।

प्रभात संगीत:" ámár hiyár jata vyathá, tumi bojho tumi jáno..." (Prabhat Samgiita #1799)

परमपुरुष, बाबा, तुम्हें न पाने कारण मेरे हृदय में जो पीड़ा हो रही है, उसे तुम अच्छी तरह से जानते हो समझते हो। उन कष्टों को मुझे अपने मुँह से नहीं बोलना पड़ता। मेरे दिल की बात तुम सुन लेते हो, मेरे मन की बात को सुनने के लिए तुम्हें कान की जरुरत नहीं है। मेरे चित्त में जो भावनाएं उठती हैं उसे तुम फौरन जान जाते हो।

बाबा, मेरे चित्त-निवासी, मन में रहने वाले प्रभु, तुम्हारे लिए मेरे दिल में जो विरह व्यथा है वह दर्द कभी हटता नहीं, वह पीड़ा सदा मेरे मन में कष्ट देती रहती है। तुम मेरे उस दर्द को भलीभाँति बूझते हो। हे प्रभु, तुम उचित दिन के इंतज़ार में हो, दिन गिन रहे हो, जब वह दिन आएगा तब यथाकाल में तुम मुझे दर्शन दोगे।

बाबा, तुम्हें न पाने कारण मेरे मन में जो बेचैनी हो रही है, उसे तुम अच्छी तरह से जानते हो समझते हो। प्यार में ढोंग नहीं चलता है यह तुम भी जानते हो मैं भी जानता हूँ।

Balm for current AMPS

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Today human beings, to whatever country they may belong, should, on the one side, propagate an anti-exploitation sentiment (exploitation does not mean exploitation in the economic sphere only, it includes all sorts of exploitation), and form strong nations in their respective countries; and, on the other side, preach the theory of one spiritual inheritance – that every living being is the child of the Supreme Entity, and that all the people of all nations belong to the same family. This will have to be explained to all, that there will be clash among different nations as long as national feelings exist. People may talk of disarmament, but military preparation will go on underground. And if people dedicate themselves to the welfare of the entire human race, their respective nations will also be benefited indirectly because their nations are not outside the universe! Along with the theory of spiritual inheritance, one Cosmic ideology will have to be propagated too, and that ideology is that one Supreme Entity – the Cosmic Entity – is the goal of all living beings. This spiritual sentiment will keep human beings united for all time to come. No other theory can save the human race.” (1)

Great practice upon waking

Ananda Marga Caryacarya says, “Everyone may perform the practices below if they wish.”

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “Utksepa Mudra: This Mudra should be practised in bed immediately upon waking. While lying on the back, one should flex both the arms and legs, bringing them over the chest, and then return them immediately to the extended position. After doing this three or four times, sit up in bed and drink a glass of cold water without allowing the water to touch the teeth. After this you should expose the navel area to the air, and walk up and down in this way for some time in the open air.” (1)
