AMPS: scary history

We all know Baba places great importance on the study of history as it enables both individuals and communities to learn from past mistakes and thereby progress. Failing that, without the study of history, people commit the same old errors over and over again. In which case, they remain shackled by the pitfalls of the past and are unable to advance. So the review of history holds a unique place for the development of any society.

As Ananda Margiis, we must know the history of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha (AMPS). Please read this below letter as an historical account which depicts the scene going on those days.

In AMPS after 1995, the dark forces were trying to create terror so they could continue unhindered in their process of the Bengalization of Sadguru Baba’s scripture.
To that end, here below is the English version of so-called DPS Haratmananda’s and stooge Nirmohananda’s threatening circular from that era. Their sole aim was to scare and befool margiis and cover-up, at any cost, the ongoing Bengalization of Baba’s books. By this way those in power could proceed unchallenged in their agenda of the distortion of Guru’s scripture etc.

The above circular is a prime example of how Sarvatmananda used his various tools like so-called DPS Haratmananda’s and stooge Nirmohananda’s to befool margiis and cover up the ongoing Bengalization of Baba’s books through the use of fear tactics. Baba's books are getting altered by TP
First, those at the helm expelled the whistleblower in November 1995 and seized the posts of other margiis who were instrumental in raising public awareness about this distortion issue / Bangalisation of Baba’s books. But those in power could not not fulfill their strategic objectives because those who love Baba's dharmic teachings could not be kept quiet. Those revolutionary sadhakas started printing circulars and mailing them to all margiis to open their eyes and expose the truth about what sort of hypocrisy was going on: How Baba's books were getting altered along with so many other injustices etc. In response, the then so-called DPS Haratmananda and puppet Nirmohananda were ordered to write this above circular to befool margiis, cover up the ongoing Bangalization of Baba’s books, and sway the minds of margiis about the Margii News Bulletin. By this false propaganda, in that immediate period those involved in the Bengalization of Baba’s books got some limited success. However, within a relatively short time, so many of their ills and injustices were openly exposed. The infighting between the various factions lit up into a veritable inferno wherein one Wt was even murdered; all their injustices aired out in public like loose trash in the midst of a giant hurricane; and, it became inescapable for margiis to see that something very putrid was going on within the walls of our organisation. And, perhaps, the clincher was that AMPS ultimately split up and divided into various camps and factions.
AM books are full of mistakes: distortion
And now, today, everything is completely out in the open. And with regards to our scripture, most Ananda Margiis are well aware that AM books are full of mistakes, i.e. what is printed in the book is not exactly what Baba spoke. Rather His divine discourses have been subjected to the unseemly process of Bengalization.
This is the short history of how some people tried hard in the past and are still trying hard at present to ruin Baba's teachings and keep their particular language as the “supermost”.

Cowards are not good people
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The characteristic of good people is to fight against injustice, to firmly adhere to truth and righteousness, to protect the helpless and fight against all evil persons. Those who are merely simple and are of a meek and goody-goody nature are not good people." (1)
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "To willingly subject oneself to humiliation without protest, to tolerate injustice and accept all the agonies of exploitation as divine providence without resistance, is not the mark of a good person." (2)
Baba says: who is more dangerous
Here is an English summary of Sadguru Baba’s Hindi teaching from EGD 25 November 1978 Mumbai:
If our own person or relative deviates from the truth or is lacking sincerity, oppose him. Do not tolerate him. It does not matter if he is our own relative. If our own person is dishonest and insincere then he is more dangerous. If a snake is living outside the house in the wild it is dangerous, but if that snake enters inside the house then it is more dangerous. Therefore wrongdoers of the organisation should be opposed more strongly. (English summary, Hindi EGD 25 November 1978 Mumbai)
In His above guideline Baba explains that bad elements in society are dangerous, but bad elements inside your house - inside your organisation - are more dangerous. Do not tolerate them, benevolently oppose them. So they can rectify their ways and become an asset to our Ananda Marga society.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "In a jungle the number of tigers and lions is always few; the jackals far outnumber them. Yet in the jungle the tigers and lions rein supreme, not the jackals. The jackals are sure to howl, that is their nature; but the tigers and lions will not be frightened." (3)
When Indira Gandhi imposed martial law in India and arrested all Ananda Margiis, she was thinking that AMPS will be destroyed as all the margiis would leave etc. But that did not happen. A similar situation unfolded in AMPS after 1995. Dark forces were trying to create confusion and terror so they could continue unhindered in their process of the Bengalization of Sadguru Baba’s scripture.

Intro to PS: In this song the bhakta is innocently sharing his inner heart feeling about that most loving Entity, Parama Purusa. Yet, unbeknownst to him, the very Personality whom he is communicating with is none other than Parama Purusa Himself. So that is the unique aspect of this song.

He knows all my secret thoughts: the vibrations of my mind and the feelings of my heart. He has the pulse of my inner self, is aware about everything, and understands the pain and longing of my core. He perceives what is good and bad for me, along with what is for my welfare and what I should and should not do. All this He perfectly comprehends. Parama Purusa is my Savior. My entire existence is within His mind. It is all at His fingertips. He is aware about everything related with me. My Parama Purusa is my most close and most dear; He is surrounding me in all the ways; I remain under His eternal shelter.
Due to shyness, whenever I try to hide my emotions from Him, they cannot remain hidden - ever; every vibration always comes to light. He is aware about even my secret tales. Whatever I think, He knows. Nothing can be kept from Him. It is all within His reach. He inherently has it all within the periphery of His awareness. I am never alone; He is with me always.
He resides in the depths of my being and saturates my soul with the sweetness of His grace. My whole inner world gets enchanted by His divine presence. He is my most dear One who whispers sweet, loving words into my ears and touches the deepest parts of my soul.
Parama Purusa is living within me and sees the entire landscape. He is more aware about my existence than I am. He is with me always and eternally guides me and keeps me under His loving care and shelter...
