Another Sin By PP Dada

Baba

ANOTHER SIN BY PP DADA

Note: Those who do not care about Ananda Marga ideology and AM teachings should not read this letter. This letter is not for them.

Namaskar,
After seeing the recent brochure where PP Dada is allowing himself to be highlighted (see below), we can all think how far this is consistent with Guru’s teaching.

In Prabhat Samgiita #337, Guru says,

“A’lokera path cha’r’ibo na’…A’mi nijere praca’r karibo na’…”

Here is the purport of this Prabhat Samgiita:
O’ my Lord, I will not leave Your path of Ananda Marga ideology, the path of effulgence. I will never leave the path which You showed me - i.e. the path of divinity, singing the glory of Parama Purusa. By Your grace, I will change myself according to Your desire. I will make my mind straight, focusing on You & propagating Your glory. I will never glorify my own existence. I will never propagate my own personality. I will never praise myself in front of anyone. O’ Lord You have taught me to propagate Your glory - the glory of Parama Purusa alone. So I will never propagate myself…

Clearly by this Prabhat Samgiita composition, it is understood that Ananda Marga ideology does not appreciate self-praise. Before 1990, no brochure ever featured a cover photo of a dada nor of Baba; this was never done. Instead the ideals were highlighted. This was the dharmic system Sadguru inculcated.

Here Is The Photo

By this above photo - according to Ananda Marga philosophy, PP Dada and Dada Rudranandaji are committing sin.

Ideal Societies Never Accept Self Praise

Only in Pseudo-Societies

In fact, in any ideal society self-praise looks ridiculous. People are ridiculed for this. So people refrain from praising themselves.

In contrast, in so-called societies when people have a strong desire to be praised, then they hire some other persons for this task by giving them some payment or post. And they keep those hired persons nearby; and their duty is to praise. This is the regular tactic that is done.

Many ego-centric kings were like that in the past. They kept certain ministers only for the special duty of praising the king. This was the only work of those ministers.

These days also, many politicians pay money to the newspapers to get their self-glorifying propaganda published. To highlight their own personality politicians do like this.

No Brochure Ever Made Like This

Before 1990, no brochure ever featured a cover photo of a dada; instead the ideals were printed.

So in Ananda Marga, this type of praise is not accepted because the aim in Ananda Marga is to propagate bhagavad dharma - the divine ideals, not mundane things. We are to propagate Parama Purusa because He is the real owner of everything.

Both of These Dadas Are Guilty

Now the unfortunate situation is that Dada Rudranandji wants to praise himself to get more power. So now Dada Rudranandji is propping up PP Dada Vishvadeveananda for his own (Dada Rudrananda’s) power play. So both are guilty in this setting.

Thus the situation in Ananda Marga is unique. PP Dada himself is a stooge and Dada Rudrananda is propping him up in order to heighten his own [Dada Rudranandaji’s] prestige. But whatever the reason, PP Dada is also a culprit. He cannot be excused; he is not objecting about how this goes against Baba’s teachings. In place of propagating Ananda Marga ideals he allows his image to be placed there. The fact that he himself is a stooge is not an excuse. Rather he likes the adulation of being propped up in front of the people.

“One should not praise oneself or any other person. There are many people who are very fond of praising themselves by telling everyone what wonderful things they have done, but, as mentioned in this sloka, kiirtana is not for one’s own self but for Hari. Even though people are taught to do kiirtana for Hari, they still make the mistake of praising themselves too much. Sometimes their self-praise is so intense that others are obliged to say, “Please stop praising yourself so much.” They forget that their self-applause is rather boring for others. Human beings should realize that no one likes to hear the self-praise of others.” (AV-8)

Food & Medicine : Liver, Kidney,Blood, And Skin

Baba says, “The roots, barks, leaves, flowers, branches and seed of the drumstick plant, are all very good. In winter and spring when you get opportunity then you should take drumstick*. By this way the liver, kidney, blood, and skin will be healthy and better."
"When acne starts appearing on the face of boys and girls of adolescentage then that very time by eating even a small amount of drumstick flower, bark, leaf, branch, or seed, then the acne will be fully controlled. Another good medicine of acne is to mix ground red lentil with pure butter and then apply it on the affected area. Or rub the roots of the silk cotton tree with pure butter. That also will control the outbreak of acne. These two latter treatments are external whereas the use of drumstick is internal.” (SC (B)- 20, disc. 157, pt 20, p. 87)

* Drumstick: In India this is called sahajan, shojane, shobha’injan, and munga’.

Reply to Tiljala Publications Propaganda

Baba

REPLY TO TILJALA PUBLICATIONS PROPAGANDA

Namaskar,
Thank you for your interest in this important topic that deals with the authenticity of Lord Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji’s printed books.

PREVIEW:
1. Tiljala Publications prints AM books via Bangla: English is translated into Bangla, and Bangla re-translated back to English. Not direct transcriptions from the original audio files. But that is the wrong approach.
2. If Baba spoke in Hindi similar events happened. Hindi discourse translated in Bengali and then retranslated into Hindi and published in book form. And that is the wrong approach.

3. The truth is that in THE early period, AM Publications had no means to record Baba’s audio discourses.

4. That time a special system was made: Sadhakas were taking hand-written notes at DMC. Later Baba would edit their notes. Editing was done in Bengali. That is why original Hindi and English discourses were printed as being from the original Bengali. That was the right approach.
5. Audio recording devices came into AM in 1958. Since then audio recordings were accepted as the original.
6. Recorded discourses were transcribed and printed directly from the reel-to-reel tape. There was no need to edit in Bengali. They were printed “as is.” That was the right approach.

7. After the arrival of reel-to-reel tapes, always the language in which Baba delivered the discourse was accepted as the original language.
8. Baba’s final order and guideline is that only those early DMC discourses, that were given before the use of audio recordings in AM and were notes edited by Baba in Bengali, are taken as original Bengali. That is from Subhasita Samgraha part 2 to Subhasita Samgraha part 6.
9. Tiljala Publications with their ulterior motive has been twisting this issue and printing all the books via Bangla (i.e. Bangalisation method) for the last 24 years. They don’t have any reply when margiis question them on their wrongdoing.

10. Tiljala is citing this below incident with Ac Kishan Sood as their reply. But this is bogus.
11. Why is it bogus? Because Ac Kishan Soodji is recounting his story based on point #4 and point #8 only (see above). And that fact is already well-known since 1959, because that is when the Author's Note was published & SS-2(H) was printed.
12. Tiljala Publications doesn't have any reply when margiis question them on their wrongdoing of points: #1, #2, #9 (see above).

13. In conclusion, in a desperate manner, PRS Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji is trying delude margiis & divert them from the main sinful act that Tiljala has done.
14. This is not a language issue; this issue is about the authenticity of Baba’s holy discourses.

FOR MORE DETAILS PLEASE READ BELOW

In the recent email, it describes how Ac Kishan Soodji had this question in mind when he raised this matter with Baba in 1978:

“When this question was raised by me I had gone through four parts of the Subha’s’ita Samgraha which were available with me in printed form. I used to wonder, how is that His discourses which were originally delivered in Hindi, have been mentioned in the book printed in Hindi and English as translated from Bengali Original.”

AM HAD NO TAPE RECORDER

Then Ac Soodji recounts how Baba gave the following reply:

“The DMC discourses were given in Hindi. In those days the Samgha had no Tape Recorder. A group of five margiis used to sit in the front before me during the DMCs and they would take notes of the speech in long hand. Since those were Bengali speaking margiis...I would then have the article translated in Bengali and rewrite it into the form of an essay. This essay would then go for publication in Subha’s’ita Samgraha as Bengali original. The Hindi and English version would go for publication after getting translated from the original Bengali.”

By Acarya Kishan Soodji’s above statements, it is very clear how in those early days when  Ananda Marga Publications had no access to audio recording machines, then in select circumstances the aforesaid process was going on.

HOW DADA K IS TRYING TO TWIST THE SITUATION

Now, however, Kolkata PRS Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji is trying to throw sand in the eyes of margiis. Dadaji is writing as if this is a universal approach for every discourse. At present Tiljala Publications is under intense scrutiny, so in desperation – without having any other recourse – they are trying to befool margiis in this way.

See here what Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji is writing:

“In the CAC meeting held on 2,3,4 June, 2014, Ac. Kishan Sood explained one riddle – he himself faced -that how His Pravacans delivered in Hindi are published as “translated from original Bengali” in Hindi and Bengali versions of Subhasita Samgraha etc.”

TILJALA HAS BEEN SHY IN GIVING A REPLY

In Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji’s above statement, there are two main points that demand public review:

1. Nowadays, margiis are raising the point how Tiljala Publications is resorting to Bangalisation methods in all their books – i.e. all books are being translated via Bangla. And to date Dada K and Tiljala have been shy in giving a reply.

Acarya Soodji’s above story clearly depicts how only the very early books of the Subhasita Samgraha series were edited and finalised in Bengali. This was the practical method given the limitations of the day.

So now Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji is writing as if this is applicable with the entire Subhasita Samgraha series. But that is wrong.

THIS IS NOT A RIDDLE AT ALL, BUT DOCUMENTED FACT

2. Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji labeling this as a riddle, but this is not a riddle at all. The matter is extremely clear. Baba’s “Authors Note” was printed in the Hindi edition of Subhasita Samgraha part 2 decades and decades ago. And in that Author’s Note, everything has been well explained. There is nothing hidden and there is no riddle involved. That matter is quite straightforward. So the above story should not be treated as newly found wealth in the bottom of a castle. This is a well-known fact. Here is the scan of Baba’s Author’s Note from Subhasita Samgraha Part 2 Hindi 1968 3rd edition:

So indeed it is well-known that Acarya Soodji’s above story is related with a very limited number of books during a short time period.

DADA K AND TILJALA PUBLICATIONS HAVE TO ANSWER TO THIS:

WHY ARE THEY USING BANGALISATION METHODS WITH BABA’S RECORDED DISCOURSES

Dada Kalyaneshvaranandji and Tiljala / B group publications have to reply to this critical question:

What is the justification for the pervasive Bangalisation of Ananda Marga books when those discourses have been audio recorded.

Up till now they have not given any proper reply. All are waiting to hear from them.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Iishvara Sen

Note: TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS CRITICAL ISSUE

If anyone wishes to know more about this critical issue, please read this below letter, which was posted some time back.

WEAPON TO FIGHT AGAINST THEFT

Preview:
1. Baba mostly delivered all DMC discourses for Subhasita Samgraha parts 1 – 6 in Hindi.
2. That was before audio recording devices were available in Ananda Marga.
3. Various margiis noted down Baba’s discourses at DMC and presented them to Baba for publication.
4. Those who noted down the discourses for SS-2 to SS-6 were native Bangla speakers so they wrote their notes in Bengali.
5. Those note-takers missed much of what Baba actually spoke.
6. So Baba worked with them in the ensuing days and weeks to make the discourses proper.
7. Because they were native Bangla speakers Baba worked with them in Bengali to finalise those discourses.
8. Baba’s review in Bengali was exhaustive and numerous sections were added.
9. So Baba included an Author’s Note in SS-2 indicating that although the discourses were originally given at DMC in Hindi, one should treat the printed Bengali version as the original because an audio recording was not made of the original Hindi DMC discourse and Baba made many updates to their notes in Bengali.

Note 1: Most are aware that this issue has been fought over for 24 years. Those with deeper interest should please write us – and we will provide you with all the relevant documents.

Note 2: This is not a language issue; rather, maintaining the authenticity of Baba’s discourses is what is at stake.

Namaskar.
Back in the early days, before there was the ability and technology in Ananda Marga to audio record discourses, Baba delivered DMC pravacans that became part of the Subhasita Samgraha series of publications – specifically part 1 to part 6.

WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE DISCOURSES WERE RECORDED ON AUDIO

In particular, those discourses of Subhasita Samgraha parts 2 – 6 were originally given by Baba in Hindi at the DMC venue. Those discourses were not recorded on audio, as reels and cassettes were still not available those days in Ananda Marga. So some people were assigned to note down the discourses with pen and paper. Since those note-takers could not properly write down all that Baba spoke, it was needed to check over the accuracy and completeness of their notes. Baba had to expound greatly on the topic as the Bengali notes of Har Govind Mandal ji and Sushil Dhar ji were just bits and pieces of what Baba had actually spoken.

Now here comes more about the discourses in SS parts 2 – 6.

JAMALPUR RAILWAY OFFICE LUNCH HOUR DISCOURSE WORK

Here is the story how both Har Govind Mandal ji and Sushil Dhar ji could only note down bits and pieces of what Baba had actually spoken at the time of DMC. They were native Bangla speakers who would regularly take dictation from Baba in the Jamalpur railway office during lunchtime.

In the case of those DMC discourses that eventually became Subhasita Samgraha parts 2 – 6, Har Govind Mandal ji and Sushil Dhar ji also noted down Baba's discourse when it was originally given at DMC. But they were unable to...

Baba Story of a Gay U.S. Margii

Baba

This letter contains four distinct sections:

BABA STORY OF A GAY U.S. MARGII

Namaskar,
There is a myth that, “Baba never told anything directly that homosexuality is bad.”

Here below is the proof that Baba Himself took an unequivocal and strong stand against homosexuality.

YOUNG MALE STANDS BEFORE BABA IN DHARMA SAMIIKSA

(The following is an excerpt from one Dada’s book)

Brother G from the USA stood in front of Baba. After some personal talk, Baba said, “Your mind is unnecessarily disturbed about the past. You made some mistakes of a sexual nature.”

G’s face suddenly became very red.

“Yeah...yes, Baba,” he mumbled.

“When you were younger you had some misunderstanding about the relationship between men and women.”

He stared at the floor, saying, “Yes, Baba.”

“But it was not your fault. As a little boy you were simply influenced by your environment.”

G looked up at Baba. He sighed deeply, smiled slightly and said, “Thank you, Baba.”

“No need of thanks,” Baba said. “I merely convey to you the unadulterated facts. You were unaware. Unaware.”

G approached me after the session, wanting to get something off his chest.

“I never told anyone, Dada,” he said, “but since you were present today, I want to tell you that...that before joining Ananda Marga, I had...homosexual relations.”

He watched for my reaction. Seeing none, he continued, “Even though I’ve been doing meditation for a number of years, it’s always bothered me; I’ve always felt guilty. But now Baba’s freed my mind. When He said it wasn’t my fault, something let go inside of me. I feel so light now; I wouldn’t be surprised if I started to fly!” (Who’s Afraid of the Tantric Guru (1995), by Ac Dharmavedananda Avt, p. 279)

Note: A scan of this story from the original text has been appended below.

SAME SEX RELATIONS IS SINFUL

In the above story, a male had sex with another male – that is the sinful dealing that Baba is pointing out and this same sin applies to females who have sex with another female. So this is a universal teaching that applies go all gays, lesbians, homosexuals etc.

Having attraction for the same-sex is not good, this attraction must not be encouraged, neither physically nor mentally. Rather it should be diverted toward spiritual attainment; that desire should be goaded towards Parama Purusa. An ideal widower, or divorcee, or single margii, and those who have taken the vow of celibacy, if any have attraction for the opposite sex, then internally they goad their mind toward Parama Purusa. Remember physically indulging in same-sex relations and mentally harboring this desire are both against the AM way of life and detrimental to one’s spiritual growth.

Some people think accepting gay relations is equated with being open-minded. In that case, in the general society then all kinds of things should be accepted in the name of open-mindedness like prostitution, animal sex like – dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, camels, bulls, sheep, birds, trees, plants & bugs.

In Ananda Marga, we love everyone – all humans irrespective of their gender or sexual preference, or any other quality. We love everyone: Diseased persons, healthy persons, serial killers, and sex addicts – all human beings (virtuous, great people; good; and bad), as well as all kinds of animals and plants, even poisonous snakes. We love all as they are the progeny of Parama Purusa.

GAY RELATIONS AND ANANDA MARGA WAY OF LIFE:

THE TWO CANNOT CO-EXIST

Having gay and lesbian relations and remaining in Ananda Marga is like flying in the sky and drowning in the water at the same time. One path, i.e. gay relations, is when mind is going towards the muladhara cakra, and on the other path, i.e. Ananda Marga, the mind is going towards the sahasrara cakra. So the two cannot co-exist.

Thus, there should not be any confusion about this. The stand of Ananda Marga philosophy is very clear-cut. In Ananda Marga, there is zero scope for an animalistic way of life.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Liila Hampton

Note 1: GAY RELATIONS ARE A PRODUCT OF MATERIALISM

OUR APPRAOCH IS TO DIVERT MIND TO THE SUPREME

Materialism does not consider or have a clue that human desire is infinite and cannot be satisfied through worldly means. Based on their wrong and defective platform, such materialists support all kinds of dirty activities which destroy the body and mind, such as drinking, smoking, lesbian & gay & bisexual perverted sex, sex with animals & plants (dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, camels, bulls, sheep, birds, trees, plants & bugs), and all kinds of harmful indulgences. Such degrading activities are not only allowed but welcomed in materialism.

There are some in Ananda Marga who are not sure about our AM philosophical stand on homosexuality. Yet, as we know, in Ananda Marga, sex is for procreation only.

Even then some of our margiis, who are affected by western materialistic values, have a tough time understanding this.

In Ananda Marga, our manner is to divert all longing toward the Supreme and ultimately become one with Parama Purusa. We live to please and serve Him and attain permanent peace, and not plunge ourselves in fleeting, sinful vices like sex with animals etc (dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, camels, bulls, sheep, birds, trees, plants & bugs), lesbian or gay or bi-sexual relations, or perverted sex etc.

There is a myth that, “Baba never told anything directly that homosexuality is bad.” But now we know this myth is just that: A myth. Because Baba clearly has expressed His disapproval of homosexual / gay relations. He strongly condemns such acts.

Note 2: SCAN OF THAT STORY FROM THE BOOK

Here is a scan of that story from page 279 of Dada Dharmavedanandji's book, "Who's Afraid of the Tantric Guru."

The section below demarcated by asterisks is an entirely different topic,
completely unrelated to the above material. It stands on its own as a point of interest.

Health Guideline

Baba says, "Dhaotii: Immediately after Nasapana, at a time when your stomach is empty and you are washing your face, the throat should be cleaned with the middle finger of the right hand, inserting it as far as possible." (CC-3, chapter 7, Point #5)

Note: Since the practice of nasapana is required in order to practice dhaotii, here following is a reminder about that:

"Nasapana: Draw in clean water through the nostrils and pass it out through the mouth. This water may be swallowed, but it is better to spit it out." (CC-3)

== Section 3 ==

~ When I Ask For Something Stupid, Then You Never Fulfill It ~

PS Introduction: Parama Purusa has an infinite number of qualities and attributions. One of them is amtra or sudha sar, i.e. essence of nectar.

"Every spiritual realization – from the higher spiritual realm to the comparatively low psycho-spiritual realm – comes about through the medium of hormones secreted by the ájiṋá cakra and the sahasrára cakra (these hormones are called sudhá in scriptural language)."

"The hormone secretion of the Brahmarandhra, the supreme gland of the human body, is partly controlled by the moon, and the moon is also called soma; hence that nectar is called somarasa or somadhárá. This somadhárá invigorates the lower glands of the human body and intoxicates a spiritual aspirant with joy. Ordinary people cannot experience this divine joy, because crude thoughts result in somarasa being burnt up in the mental sphere (in the pituitary gland and vicinity). But a sádhaka feels a great intoxication at the time this amrta is being secreted. When those who are not sádhakas observe this condition, they mistake it for something else." (AMIWL-9, Tantra and Sa´dhana´)

Parama Purusa is sudha sar, i.e. essence of nectar.

"Ogo Prabhu toma’r liila’ apa’r, Bojha’r buddhi neiko a’ma’r..." (2615)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, Your divine liila is infinite and has no bounds. It is limitless. O' my Lord, You are the Supreme Entity and I am a little human being. I do not posses the requisite intellect to understand Your liila. It is far beyond the realm of my understanding. I ask for many things - some good and some bad. You are so gracious - You only bestow those thing that are for my welfare. When I ask for anything harmful, then You never fulfill my request. You graciously overlook my baser and degrading desires.

O' Supreme One, I am floating on and on in the rasa (flow) of Your cosmic liila. Only by Your wish, have I been granted the language to express myself. O' Lord, when I am burdened in pain and suffering in sorrow, by Your grace I always find comfort and solace in the tune of Your songs. Also, in my happiness, Your songs always bring more joy.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, You are so near and dear to me. You help me in all my troubles and circumstances. You are the most resplendent One. You are revered in all the various lavyers - on all planes and in all circumstances. O my Lord, O' Baba, You're the essence of nectar...

Mahaprayan Of One Margii

Baba

Mahaprayan (Death) of Acarya’ Ahilya Devii

Dear brothers and sisters,
Namaskar.

Namaskar,
It is with much sorrow that I share with you news of the mahaprayan* (death) of Acarya’ Ahilya Devii. Acarya’ Ahilya Devii was a longtime family acarya, and her mahaprayan happened on 09 April 2014 in Delhi. She and her extended family were all great devotees of Baba.

Acarya’ Ahilya Devii was the wife of famous devotee margii, Ac Rama Tanuk ji. Ac Rama Tanuk ji was looking after legal cases of Baba.

Respected Acarya'ji underwent much struggle in her life.Yet, through it all, during the very difficult periods of her life, she never blamed Baba. Rather she encouraged all to continue trust in Baba. This is the mark of a true devotee.

May we all take solace in the fact that Acarya’ Ahilya Devii was a devotee of the Lord. Certainly she will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His grace.

With deepest regards,
Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Shankar Bhandari

Note 1: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL MAHAPRAYAN AND FAKE MPD

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa Himself. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa.

Note 2: ASTERISK NOTE ABOUT MAHAPRAYAN

* Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in Bengal to describe the death of an honoured or even ordinary person. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily devotional term to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no devotees ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Those who think that Baba is a mortal human being celebrate Mahaprayan on a particular day of the year related with Baba; but, in the true sense, Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary on page 742. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens.

Note 3: STORY- SITTING ON BABA'S LAP MEANS DIED?
(contributed by one margii)

Recently after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba.

He said, "After being punished by Baba, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his story, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries.

QUESTION BY A NEW MARGII

Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this.

The new sadhaka sensed that something was awry.

He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if all who have died have accumulated there. Many emails have been written this way.

MUST NOT ONLY REFER TO DEATH

At that moment I thought that everyone, new and old, should be clear about the real and devotional meaning of this phrase, "being on Baba's lap." It should not become stigmatized such that it only means death. Because in its true sense, the phrase "being on Baba's lap" really does carry a highly devotional and sweet feeling.

It is just like how a small child sits on its parent's lap. In a similar way, a spiritual child (human being) sits on the lap of Parama Purusa. By Baba's grace this can happen anytime in one's sadhana, especially in dhyana. Such a phrase then should not become  stigmatized because too many people only use it at the time of death.

We should be careful that we do not relegate "Baba's lap" only to the point of death. All these following terms and phrases also only refer to death:

ve bhagavan ko pya're ho gaye
(he has been loved by God)

ve svarga sidhar gaye
(he has gone to heaven )

ve guzar gaye
(he passed away)

mahaprayan hoyeche
(he died)

We should ensure that the same death connotation does not get attached to, "being on Baba's lap." Because the phrase - "being on Baba's lap" - is a devotional experience that can happen today itself in sadhana, and especially in dhyana. The phrase "being on Baba's lap" should not lose this quality and only mean death. It should not meet the same dark fate as happened with the term harijan.

MUST NOT MEET SAME FATE AS HARIJAN

As we all know, these days in India nobody uses the term harijan to mean "a devotee". Whereas 70 years ago it was used in that way. The term harijan did mean bhakta. But ever since the time of Gandhi when he glued the harijan term to the lowest so-called caste, i.e so-called untouchables, nobody uses the the harijan to mean devotee. Never. Because the term harijan has been stigmatized to mean "untouchable". Nobody uses it to mean "devotee", but that is the original and true meaning of the word.

The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its devotional quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

A VERY DEVOTIONAL EXPRESSION

There are thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply devotional value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and dhyana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply devotional experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana and especially during dhyana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a devotional practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in dhyana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

RECENT EXAMPLES

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in BÁBÁ'S loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. Of course, it is fine to write like that. Here the point is that this same phrase "in Baba's lap" should also be used when describing one's devotional practices and experiences. But these days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's devotional experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their devotional feeling. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PHOTO

Namaskar,
See the below book cover and examine the photo. Before reading this letter, note down the plus points and drawback of that book cover. When you have completed your list then read the letter. If you got all the points covered in this letter then you have a keen eye and passed this quiz with flying colours. If you missed certain points then go back and review. And if you have points on your list that were not covered in this letter, then please write in to educate others.

HERE IS THAT BOOK COVER + SOME POINTS ABOUT IT

After looking at this cover, be sure to read the points noted below.

CULTIVATING A SENSE OF CURIOSITY AND INQUISITIVENESS

In all fields of life, as the dharma Guru Baba has graciously given new and revolutionary ideas. Naturally, this applies to the realm of education and formal schooling as well. On this front also, Baba’s teachings are wholly unique and critical for creating a proper human society.

According to Baba, of utmost importance is awakening the thirst for knowledge in the mind of the student. That means the classroom must be a medium for cultivating a sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness within the student learner. We can say this is one of primary objectives of Ananda Marga education.

And verily there are so many significant facets of the Ananda Marga neo-humanistic system of education. Sadguru Baba has further addressed the role of teachers, education’s place in the greater society, the role of government, media and learning, and so many other aspect of the Ananda Marga neo-humanistic system of education – many of which are highlighted and reviewed further down in this letter.

What stands central however is awakening a thirst for knowledge in the mind of the child.

As His disciples it is our duty to convey the His special guidelines to the populace-at-large. One of the key ways of conveying this message is through our books and publications.

THIS BOOK COVER GROSSLY MISREPRESENTS

NEO-HUMANISTIC MODEL OF EDUCATION

One dada has published a book in Hindi on the Ananda Marga system of education. Specifically on the cover these points are enlisted: “Phonic Drill”, “Art of Teaching”, “Education”, “Child Psychology”, and “Role of the Guardian.”

Clearly Dadaji has high aspirations for his book and aims to address many significant branches of pedagogy. Unfortunately, regardless of what Dadaji has written in his book, the very cover grossly misrepresents our neo-humanistic model of educations and Baba’s guidelines on schooling etc.

COVER PHOTO ON THIS BOOK  FALLS SHORT IN SO MANY WAYS

The cover of any book is really important – it is a window into the book itself as well as a landscape of what the author wishes to convey.

Yet the cover photo on this book – displayed below – falls short in so many ways.

DADAJI IS INVOLVED IN HIS OWN READING

KIDS BECAME BORED AND DISTRACTED

(1) Dadaji is not guiding the student during the lesson: The cover ought to convey a positive image, yet the cover of this book shows how Dadaji is not engaging the students in any learning. The children want to learn but Dadaji is not guiding them. Instead he is involved in his own reading when really he should have planned ahead and prepared his lesson beforehand. Instead he is doing his class preparation now. In the meantime the kids became bored and distracted. Clearly they want to learn. But Dadaji himself is immersed in his book – he is not looking at the young learners – and all the kids are looking all around the room. They are not paying attention – period. They look distracted and disinterested. This entire scene paints a very bad picture of our Ananda Marga system of education. Because on the one hand our stated aim is to “awaken a thirst for knowledge” yet clearly this is not achieved in this classroom setting. The photo tells an entirely different story.

BOY LOOKS SCARED & FRUSTRATED

HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE NEAR DADAJI

(2) Dadaji’s relation with the student: Part and parcel of our Ananda Marga system of education is the great reverence and affection that students have towards their teacher. Yet in the photo the boy that Dadaji is holding onto clearly does not want to be near Dadaji. The boy looks scared, frustrated, and uncomfortable. And in that state of mind, how can a person learn. So although Dadaji is trying to make it look like he has a relationship of love and affection with his student, that is clearly not conveyed via this photo.

JUST A PHOTO-OP

(3) Just a photo op: It looks like this could be just a photo-op and Dadaji wanted to show how diligent and studious he is, but he forgot to guide the children. So they look lost and bewildered. So if really it was a photo-op this demonstrates that he was unable to teach or direct the children. Instead at the last moment he grabbed one small child to show how much love and affection he (Dadaji) has for the kids. But he clearly does not treat the children that way on a regular day-to-day basis because the child looks uncomfortable and startled by this display. All in all, this as a photo-op this was very poorly arranged. And if it was not a photo-op then the situation is even worse. Because it depict how this is situation normal for the kids, i.e. everyday they just sit around hoping to be taught but the guidance from Dadaji is utterly lacking. So in turn, those kids innocently look around not knowing what else to do.

GURU’S GUIDELINES:

EDUCATION IS TRILATERAL DEVELOPMENT

Here are a few of Baba’s many guidelines:

[A] In our Ananda Marga system of education, we are to ensure the growth of the entire human personality – physical, psychic, and spiritual.

“The real meaning of education is trilateral development – simultaneous development in the physical, mental and spiritual realms of human existence. This development should enhance the integration of the human personality. By this, dormant human potentialities will be awakened and put to proper use.” (1)

AWAKENING A THIRST FOR KNOWLEDGE

[B] Here below is that key point where Baba states that a vital role of education is awakening a thirst for knowledge so students may learn and expand their psychic horizons.

“Education must awaken the thirst for knowledge in the students’ minds. The students themselves will create environmental pressure by persistent demands for answers to queries like: What is the answer? Is it correct? The longing, “I wish to know… I wish to understand and assimilate the entire universe” should be created. Such a thirst for knowledge should be created in the minds of students. A learner, in Arabic, is called “tálib-ul-ilm”, meaning “a genuine seeker of knowledge.” So a tremendous thirst for knowledge must be awakened in the students’ minds. They will constantly pry their teachers, their parents and their neighbours with questions like: Why is this so? What is that? Why does that happen? Why does this not happen? etc. They are ready to assimilate the entire universe.” (2)

In Him,
Arvinda

completely unrelated to the above material. It stands on its own as a point of interest.

Always Remember

Everything in this universe is temporary and subject to change only Parama Purus is permanent - lasting. Every other entity is transient.

"Amrta means “immortal”. Do you know what death is? Death means a change of form. A boy of five years became a young man – now, the body of that boy underwent death. That young man became old – the body of that young man underwent death. That old man died and he again came here in the form of a little boy – the body of that old man underwent death. Death means a change of form." (SS-24, The Causal Matrix)

== Section 3 ==

Deserve Universal Condemnation

"Senseless, sadistic killing is called pishunatá vrtti. If meat-eaters slaughter animals in the way that inflicts the least pain, that is not pishunatá; but if they kill them slowly and cruelly, first chopping off their legs, then their tails, then their heads, it is definitely pishunatá. These days in many civilized countries people are unable to give up meat-eating, but have at least devised modern methods to kill the animals less painfully. But remember, the killing of animals, no matter how it is done, is contrary to the spirit of Neohumanism."

"Once I saw a harrowing sight in a market place: part of a live tortoise had just been chopped off and sold, but the poor creature was not completely dead and was trying to crawl away, leaving a stream of blood. Such cruel things should be abolished altogether. The cruel slaughter of that innocent tortoise is certainly a case of pishunatá."

"To kill human beings is totally undesirable, but if people do want to eliminate their [a'tata'yii], they should do so with a minimum of torture. The kings of old used to kill criminals by impaling them on spikes; or by half-burying them in the ground, sprinkling salt over them, and letting the dogs eat them. Sometimes people were flayed alive. These actions certainly deserve universal condemnation." (The Acoustic Roots of the Indo-Aryan Alphabet)

A'tata'yii: A person armed with weapons who comes to your home to kill you.

Dadaji, Chair Game, & Females +

DADAJI, CHAIR GAME, & FEMALES

Warning: If you do not care about the teachings of Ananda Marga and Guru's given Wt conduct rules for monks, then there is no need for you to read this letter.

PREVIEW:
1. Ananda Purnima celebrations were held in H group central office (Ranchi).
2. DS Dada Nityapremanandji was given the role to organise games like "musical chairs", for males and females.
3. Reportedly Dadaji was intimately involved in directing young sisters in this game.
4. Yet complaints have recently been levied against DS Dada for counts of alleged sexual misconduct.
5. Central Dadas are seemingly ignoring complaints by local margiis against this Dada.
6. Instead, Centre is intentionally putting DS Dada in high-profile situations at public gatherings in order to snub margiis.
7. Centre indirectly is telling Ranchi margiis that, "We do not care about your complaints you have about WT conduct."

Namaskar,
Here are some observations from the recent Ananda Purnima (May 2014) celebrations in Ranchi where H group has its central office. All that is reported below occurred under the auspices of PP Dada and the Ranchi central body.

This below account is important and relevant for margiis around the globe because what is transpiring in Ranchi may happen in your area as well. One margii who attended narrated this to me.

DADAJI DIRECTED MUSICAL CHAIRS WITH FEMALES

Because of Nityapremananda’s alleged engagements with the opposite sex, the margiis of Ranchi vehemently complained to Centre. This has been an ongoing issue and point of contention. Even then during Ananda Purnima celebrations in Ranchi, Dadaji was appointed by Centre as the director / organiser of the game "musical chairs" during the Ananda Purnima celebrations. Most know this game; for those who don't there is a description below. What was awkward and embarrassing is that Ranchi DS Dada reportedly directed this game amidst many young women participants.

So there are are two fundamental issues:
1. This type of dealing - i.e. organizing "musical chairs" for the opposite sex (i.e. young women) is way outside the realm of proper WT conduct. No dada should do like this.
2. DS Dada already has an allegedly sketchy history with women and complaints have been levied about his sexual misconduct etc.

As we all know, Guru is very strict on such matter.

"One should not look at the face of the opposite sex." (WT Conduct Rules, 37 Rules, pt #15)

Yet what to speak of not adhering to this rule, Ranchi DS Dada was directing, watching, giggling, and gossiping with young females as they played this game of "musical chairs." So Dadaji was standing quite close to all those sisters and directing the game. And then he participated in trying to capture the chair when the brothers played. This is what margiis present that day recounted.

We should also keep in mind that this game - "musical chairs" - is a juvenile game for kids aged 4 - 8 years old. Pre-schoolers and kindergarteners play this game - not grown adults, and certainly not avadhutas. Yet at the Ananda Purnima function, Dadaji was very involved in playing this game with brothers. And when the sisters played Dadaji was in a key place to watch the females and organise the game.

Needless to say, this entire scene is completely against the WT code of conduct. Yet, this was all done in the presence of Ranchi Central Administration as they were present for much of the Ananda Purnima activities - including the game of "musical chairs."

This however is not the whole story - there is an undercurrent as well.

RANCHI MARGIIS VEHEMENTLY COMPLAINED TO CENTRE

CENTRE  FURIOUS RETALIATES WITH THE LOCAL MARGIIS

Remember, this very DS Dada - i.e. Ac Nityapremananda Avt - who is already weak in this regard. Because of Nityapremananda's alleged engagements with the opposite sex, the margiis of Ranchi vehemently complained to Centre. So this dada has a very checkered history, yet here in public he is allegedly directing and watching the opposite sex (young females) in "musical chairs."

Many say Ranchi administration wanted to highlight and glorify DS Dada in this way as a payback to margiis. Because Ranchi margiis lodged complaints about Nityapremanandji for his loose character and side by side many in the Ranchi unit have taken silent action against Centre as well. So H group Administration is internally furious with the local margiis. To retaliate and show then up, those Central H group Dadas purposely arranged for DS to organise the "musical chairs" game with females. This was Centre's way of telling those Ranchi margiis that, "We do not care about complaints you have about WT conduct."

Such was the underlying tension that day as reported by many who gave account of the day's events.

SEXUAL PREDATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED BE BE NEAR CHILDREN

Around the globe, there is growing awareness about sexual predators. One key point is that sexual predators are not allowed be be near children. Nityapremanandji allegedly committed crimes that lead in that direction. So it is highly questionable and risky to allow Dadaji to organise games for young girls. First and foremost is the safety of those girls; and then there is the matter of Dadaji's legal standing.

HIGHLY OBJECTIONABLE DEED

For those who may not be aware, to play the game of musical chairs, three things are needed: Music, chairs, and people. But the number of chairs must be less than the number of people. The chairs are put in a line and everyone parades around the chairs while the music plays. As soon as the music stops, then everyone immediately rushes to sit in a chair and the person who does not get a seat is out of the game. When rushing to get a chair to avoid getting out of the game, all kinds of pushing and bumping goes on. Sometimes one participant will even end up sitting on the lap of someone else. It is a very touchy game where people's bodies are bumping up against one another. Because when one person does not get a chair then they are out of the game. In this way the game proceeds round after round until there is a clear-cut winner.

Obviously for any Wt Dada to organize this game with a bunch of young ladies is highly objectionable. Yet this was how Dada Nityapremananda was allegedly passing his time at the Ananda Purnima celebrations in Ranchi.

In Him,
Satyendra

RE: MY OWN UPBRINGING: MARGA & DOGMA

“I am not this physical body, this physical body is not me. If you want to know me, work for my mission, because I have merged myself with my mission.”
