Baba
Mundane dogma
Namaskar,
To date, certain special interest groups have thoroughly indoctrinated some into believing that the concept mahaprayan is something divine. When in reality, mahaprayan is a widely used convention that means death. Throughout India, the program of mahaprayan is used for the death of an ordinary human being.
The purpose of this letter is to help all understand that mahaprayan is a common phenomenon, just like how in the west people say "passed away" and "died" etc. Similarly, in Bengal and other Indian states, mahaprayan is commonly used for the deceased. So the concept of mahaprayan is not something lofty.

Mahaprayan is ordinary
Some naively think that the mahaprayan program is something glorious only to be used in a very special manner. But, as stated, the reality is that mahaprayan is a pedestrian observance used for everyday people. This below person was not an Ananda Margii, just a common citizen.
And in the below article, mahaprayan is printed in big letters:
(1) First it is written in big, yellow, Hindi font;As you will notice in the below picture, the deceased is holding up his right hand as if to say no more treatment.
(2) Just below that in English it is written in block letters.
So mahaprayan is directly used in the photo. If you type this in as a Google search then you will see it there printed as well.
In this above photo - as well as in its regular usage - the term mahaprayan is used to insinuate the death of a man who has made his departure from this world. That is why this word is not used for Taraka Brahma because He did not depart - He is the eternal Parama Purusa. So the mahaprayan program is for ordinary humans, i.e. mortals.

Conclusion
Some suggest that we should live happily and not care about all these things. That is the wrong approach and defeats the purpose of creating the organisation. All kinds of societal dogmas were in vogue and Baba created Ananda Marga to eradicate those dogmas, and establish bhagavad dharma. Naturally then we must not allow such dogmas in our very own organisation, AMPS. If we ignore those dogmas it defeats the purpose of the formation of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.
Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (1)
Every sincere margii should ponder the above guideline from Caryacarya. Sadguru never dies. Those who do not understand this - even then the mourning period is limited to 12 days and is not meant to be continued year after year, on an annual basis.

Open questions to Sarvatmananda - the father of MPD dogma
Here are three key points everyone should know about the mahaprayan / shraddhainjali dogma:
Attending means supporting the cause
(A) Some wrongly justify that, “What is wrong, I am just going to Tiljala for the kiirtana, not for the sake of the mahaprayan program.” Here it should be clear: Going to the annual mahaprayan gathering for the sake of doing kiirtan is a bogus justification. Merely attending that mahaprayan gathering signifies your wholehearted support of that event. The fundamental equation is if anyone is doing anything anywhere and you go to their location and do what they are doing, it means you are supporting their cause. That is the basic formula that can be applied to countless of situations.
Let’s look at this from another angle. Who can forget when Baba was in jail and our Ananda Margii brothers and sisters from all over converged on-site to protest the injustices. Margiis sang kiirtan. And participation in those kiirtan rallies demonstrated support for the greater cause. Those days Jai Prakash Narayan called the police on margiis and had them arrested on the basis that their participation in that kiirtana meant they were the supporters of the political protests against Baba’s incarceration.
Later on, after the rally, that same kiirtan would be sung for purely spiritual purposes during dharmacakra etc. Here the point is that doing kiirtan or raising the slogan at a rally means supporting that issue or cause.
Of late, both H and B group have used kiirtana programs as a strategy to reclaim and recapture various AMPS buildings for their group cause. And those who participate in that kiirtana are their pawns for their groupist agenda. That is what happened in Goddha, Ananda Nagar, Bhopal, and numerous other places where H and B are battling for control of that jagriti etc. Kiitana programs are their main arsenal for capturing those properties from the opposite group. This happened so many times in the past and will happen in the future also as this is their cherished strategy.

In CC I, II, III no annual death day ceremony
(B) 12 day shraddha: The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days. That is the rule as per Baba’s guideline in Caryacarya
Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (2)
So by hosting an annual death day / mahapraryan / shraddhainjali prorgram our Dadas are directly contravening Baba’s teaching in Caryacarya.
Falsely justifying MPD by deception
(C) The organisers and inventors of the shraddhainjali / mahaprayan (মহাপ্রয়াণ) / tomb worship dogma, repeatedly resort to a particular quote when justifying the existence of their annual tomb day ceremony. Dadas want to prove that the mahaprayan term is God’s command - God’s term. To prove that our Dadas found one pravacan of Fiesch and wts told that in this discourse the term mahaprayan has been used so it is a holy term and the mahaprayan function is approved. In this way Sarvatmananda’s stooges brainwashed Bengali-speaking margiis.
Ananda Marga ideology states, "Táraka Brahma comes here on a particular date, leaves this earth also on a particular date, takes the birth of His quinquelemental body, the death of His quinquelemental body." (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 12, The Coming of Táraka Brahma, EGD 13 May 1979 Fiesch)
The above quote was originally delivered by Baba in English. So those cunning MPD organisers translated the above teaching in Bangla and inserted the term mahaprayan in association with Táraka Brahma. This was their scheme or ploy to try and validate the mahaprayan programme. Dadas lay claim that Baba Himself used the term mahaprayan. But that is outrightly false. Sarvatmananda dada manipulated the translation and inserted the term “mahaprayan” in hopes of befooling people into thinking that mahaprayan is really something legit - when really it is just one awful ritual.

Cimmerian darkness has finally disappeared
"Andha tamasá sariyá giyáche, aruń prabhát hás..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2340)
Purport:
Today, after such a long time, the cimmerian darkness has finally disappeared from my mind, by His grace; and, the crimson dawn is smiling today. In my mental plate, in my mind’s mirror, His celestial refulgence is emanating the expression of His endless love. In my heart, the particles of His heavenly mercy are buoyant.
Now there is no one whom I view as alien; everyone is mine, my own. This entire universe - flora and fauna - is filled with the feeling of being part of my own vast, cosmic family. Amongst this grand expression, throughout this mobile and immobile universe, I only see Him in my core and soul’s firmament. He is Parama Purusa Baba. This creation is completely His cosmic play.
In order to get Him, the Parama Purusa, I do not go to any “holy land” like Ananda Nagar, Tiljala Tomb tiirtha, Jamalpur, Varanasi, Rameshwaram, Puri, or Kailash etc. Nor do I travel to Bodhgaya, Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, or any other external place in search of the Supreme Entity. I also do not observe any external, dogmatic rituals or penance such as idol worship, deity puja, dogmatic “holy dips” in river Ganges, namaz, prayer, nature worship, or any other outdated offerings like animal sacrifice to get His blessing. Nor do I go to any temples - neither Buddha, nor Jain, nor Hindu, Gurudwara, mosque, church, nor any synagogue etc - to attain realization of God. I do not go to any such places in order to get Him and have His krpa. I just love Him in the deep corner of my mind through shravana, manana, niddidhyasana, kiirtana, bhajana, dhyana japa, etc. He always resides in my mental lotus in Guru cakra. By His grace I feel His attraction and compassion. I only yearn to become one with Him…
== Section 3: Important Teaching ==
Not about the “thank you” Note: The following teaching contains two ideas that demand our attention.
#1: When serving others by doing shudrocita seva, one should not desire their appreciation, thanks, or kind words. And one should not become displeased if those persons do not express their gratitude. One should feel happy to have been given the opportunity to serve Narayan in the form of a suffering person.
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Another way to give the public their due respect is to serve them properly. While preaching with a shudrocita idea in view, it should particularly be kept in mind that during the service you will not enter into a propaganda work. Very likely it may so happen that you may go on attending on him, but he does not pay any heed to your single utterance or you do not get any chance to put a word to him, but you need not be sorry for that, because (Náráyan) in human form has accepted, taking your service and this much is your gain. Is it a less important gain?” (1)
Way to convince non-margiis
#2: When trying to convince others about the ideals of Ananda Marga, if the next person is not understanding then best is to give an example from various local scriptures etc. Try to relate that example with Ananda Marga ideology. It is just like how in India you may cite the Gita, Ramayana, or the Vedas, and in Muslim countries you may give an example from the Koran, or for Christians one may cite the Bible. By this way you will be able to teach them Ananda Marga philosophy. The formula is to start teaching them from the point that they already know, and guide them into new realms of knowledge.
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The verbal comment on the speeches of others does not impress the people so much as the printed words of a book do, more so if those words are confirmed directly or indirectly by any religious scripture.” (2)

Analogy of animals and starting of dogma
Namaskar.
Through my travels in India during the 1980s I got to see various central dadas and it was clear that they were not able to do their meditation properly due to lack of devotion. They took Baba for granted. Some even regarded Baba in a very mundane way - not as Parama Purusa. Unfortunately, such Dadas did not have even a basic realisation of Baba.
They did not believe that Baba was the Supreme Being. Due to their myopic outlook, they began to use this mahaprayan term about Baba's departure thinking that Baba was dead. They thought that Baba was a human being and not Taraka Brahma.
Sadly, their condition was similar to farm animals who live with the master farmer but have no idea what their master is and what is his status; they think that the farmer is also an animal. So those farm animals are only concerned with their own food; they have no greater conception of who their master is. Same is the case of those types of dadas, unfortunately. They were living around Baba but they had no clue about Him.
It is obvious that they did not believe in Baba. They were not genuine devotees because genuine devotees would never think that God is dead.
So that is what happened. These type of unqualified dadas proclaimed themselves as leaders, invented and imposed their dogma of mahaprayan, and forced even good margiis to follow. Then clash broke out as those devotees who realised Baba as Parama Purusa strongly opposed the dogma of mahaprayan.
Maybe by God's grace one day the inventors of mahaprayan dogma will feel differently and begin to think differently. It will be Baba's Grace and nothing else.
Brotherly Yours,
Vyasa

Baba told in 1959 - now came true
Baba told in 1959 - now came true
Ananda Marga philosophy says, “Human beings will definitely be able to increase human longevity by scientific techniques. In certain special cases they will even be able to restore life to dead bodies. The endeavour to expedite the advent of that auspicious day of science is certainly an important part of social service.”
Ananda Marga philosophy says, “One day human beings will also learn how to produce human babes in science laboratories. Perhaps then it will be possible for human beings to place an order for their children and to get children according to their choice. Why should these laboratory babes lag behind modern humans with respect to intellectual and spiritual wealth! Those opposed to science today challenge, “Let human beings demonstrate that they can produce living entities!” By producing laboratory babes, the human beings of the future will give a befitting reply to this challenge.”
“The development of intuition will make human beings more spiritually inclined. What Saguńa Brahma [the Qualified Supreme Entity] is directly doing today will be done increasingly by the human beings of tomorrow. In that age the reproductive capacity of the human body will gradually cease to exist.” (1)
