Mahaprayan of one great margii

It is with much sadness that we share the news of the mahaprayan of Shrii Nilatpalam Sarkar, i.e. Niltu the son for Manas Ranjan Sarkar. NIltu ji underwent his untimely mahaprayan on 18th March at his home in Bardhaman, West Bengal (India). Our dear brother Niltu was only 44 years of age and he is survived by his parents, Manas Ranjan Sarkar and his wife, both of whom have crossed 80 years of age, and his sister. Many will recall that Niltu's father, Shrii Manas Ranjan Sarkar, is the younger brother of Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar.

All who knew Shrii Niltu remember him as a kind and caring person and a committed Ananda Margii who was highly dedicated to Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. Niltuji did his schooling at Ananda Nagar and was instilled with the ideals of Ananda Marga.

The very untimely mahaprayan of Shrii Niltu is a great loss to us all. The funeral and shraddha ceremony were performed according to Caryacarya and Ac Kinshuk Ranjan Sarkar attended the funeral.

May we all take solace in the fact that our dear brother Niltu was a bhakta of Sadguru Baba. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His infinite grace.

~ In-depth study ~

We have seen that when somebody dies then in offering their condolences people say now Mr So-and-so is sitting on Baba's lap. On other occasion when telling a Baba story people also say, " Such and such person sat on Baba's lap." But these days we see the trend that "sitting on Baba's lap" is used more in connection with death. And that causes some confusion in reader's mind. To unknot the situation please read below.


Baba story: "sitting on Baba's lap"

Some time ago after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba.

He said, "After being lovingly scolded by Baba for my wrongdoings, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his factual and historical event, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries.

Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this. The new sadhaka sensed that something was wrong He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if in order to sit on Baba’s lap one has to die. But that is false. Sincere sadhakas regularly sit on Baba’s lap in their meditation. It is His grace. It is just like a child need not die in order to sit on his father’s lap.

The idea is that this phrase - Baba's lap - has been linked with death due to extreme overuse. So for some time if sadhakas use this phrase exclusively for devotional purposes, that will be best.

The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its devotional quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

Baba would bless devotees and place them on His lap

There are tens of thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply devotional value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and sadhana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply devotional experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a devotional practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in sadhana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.


Dogma: if "on Baba's lap" only used for death

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

- "May Parama Purusa Baba accept her in HIS divine lap"

- "May his soul rest in the lap of our beloved BABA"

- "Now she is taking rest in Baba's Lap."

- "May Baba accept him in HIS divine lap....."

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in Bábá's loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

- ‘We all collectively pray to Baba to take him on Baba's divine lap forever.”

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. These days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's devotional experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their devotional feeling. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

"Mahaprayan" means death of mortals - confirm for yourself
from the Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary

Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in our Bengal to describe the death of any human being, even ordinary people. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily devotional term to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no devotees ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

Here it should be known that the convention of an annual death day ceremony (i.e. shraddhainjali or mahaprayan) is a foundation of the Islamic tradition. Muslims are well known for this, and their approach of an annual death day ceremony was adopted by the leader of a particular group in AMPS. So no one should think that mahaprayan is some type of sacred event. It is done on the death day anniversary of Muslims.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary 3rd edition on page 848. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it is used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens. And that is the case in this letter also. The term mahaprayan means death and this is the ideal term for this purpose.

Mahaprayan is only for humans not for Sadguru

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being, just like the aforesaid news. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Sadguru Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa. Those doing mahaprayan for Sadguru are hypocrites. On the one side in meditation they ask His grace thinking that He is ever-present, and on the other side they think that Baba has passed way. That is their hypocrisy.

Recently, one serious henchman of Rudrananda, Mantrajapananda, after sleeping and having romance with one Didi, in his drunken state ended up writing a few lines about his romance on What’sApp:

The above was posted to the What’sApp Wt forum on 04 March 2017. And the Dada who wrote this is Mantrajapananda, the Wt Trainer in Davao Philippines.

The message is loud and clear. The sense is that, “I (Mantrajapananda) am carrying on illicit relations with sisters.” And verily his past conduct is allegedly filled with such incidents as presented below.


About filthy message

On the What’sApp Wt list there are 186 wt members, after reading his romance message none of them rebuked Mantrajapananda. All kept quiet. There are two things involved here. It could be that many of them do the same thing and that is why they do not have the moral right to condemn Mantrajapananda.’s behaviour. And secondly, it could be that those good Wts are terrified that if they say something they will face severe retaliation from  Rudrananda / Mantrajapananda.

The worst part is that the moderator Madhuvratananda did nothing as Madhuvratnanda’s character is also questionable, so what can you expect more than that.

All in all it is sad and unfortunate what has happened with our Wt cadre. What was once a dharmic and righteous cadre imbibed with fighting spirit, has descended into a degraded collection of selfish people involved in lust etc.

Kindly read the following history to learn more about Mantrajapananda. The below reported incidents provide an important context to the above line that he recently posted on What’sApp.

Mantracetananda exposes Mantrajapananda’s sex life

Here is what Dada Mantracetananda wrote about Mantrajapananda in his recent Hindi circular:

Mantrajapananda: Another member of Rudrananda's caucus is Ac Mantrajapananda Avadhuta. With his hard work and care  Ac Cidananda ji established a training center at Davao at Manila, Philippines costing millions of rupees. Ac Rudrananda has posted his favorite spoon Ac Mantrajapananda there for the last several years. At the Davao training center, there are both male and females trainees. Mantrajapananda tries to make personal relations with the didi trainees of his interest while they are in the Davao TC. In turn, he had such relation with a didi who became pregnant and had an abortion. This can be verified by anyone of the the senior margiis of Davao. The margiis complained about this to the central committee but instead of taking disciplinary action against Mantrajapananda, he was promoted as purodha and posted as assistant GTS. When he tried to sell the Master Unit's land of Davao, the then SS obstructed him for which he (SS Dada) was transferred by Rudrananda. At present, the Baba Foundation of Davao has 5.5 crore loan from a bank of which 72 thousand rupees interest is paid per month. Ac Rudrananda enjoys his holidays on this place causing unlimited expenses. (Trans from original Hindi by Dr. T.R.S.)


Win-win for both

Those who are sleeping may be surprised how all these things could be going on yet the organisation is impotent to do anything. The answer is not difficult. What Mantrajapananda is doing is an asset to the controllers of the organisation. Dada Rudrananda wants people to be loyal to him. And those who are sexually weak are most loyal. It is similar to street gangs. Before joining, youths are forced by gang leaders to go and commit crimes; then they are qualified to join the street gang. And similar is the case with Rudrananda. That is why with all this baggage Dada Mantrajapananda is an asset to Dada Rudrananda, not a liability. If Mantrajapananda had been clean he would not have gotten a purodha post. So it is a win-win for Dadas Rudrananda and Mantrajapananda.

Sadguru says in His discourse entitled Conduct of Acarya: "Those who have the responsibility to show the path to others should be of superlative character with the most refined conduct. They and their followers must move constantly towards all-round development and shreya [ultimate spiritual attainment]. Persons who teach such well-regulated behaviour to others by their own conduct are called ácáryas." (1)

Sadguru says in His discourse entitled Conduct of Acarya: "Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an ácárya. Just as it is the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good conduct, an ácárya or ácáryá should always instruct by his or her exemplary actions and words." (2)

Ananda Marga philosophy warns how improper leadership brings terrible harm to society.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Today there is catastrophe and misery in human society and there is one reason: the defective leadership of society. People blindly follow even unintelligent leaders. The leaders hypnotize and attract thousands with their tall talks, gestures and other dramatics. Understand that the poverty and misery of any people in any country are the sins of the leaders. True leaders should always be vigilant and think how to work best for human society: they must be ever cautious that under their guidance the people are not led to darkness, death and immorality.” (3)

Wt conduct rules

Here are Sadguru Baba’s guidelines for all wholetimer Dadas and Didis of the Marga.

- WT Conduct Rule: "You will protect yourself from sexual weakness and luxury." (WT Conduct Rules, Fourteen Points, pt #12)

- WT Conduct Rule: "One should not look at the face of the opposite sex except at the time of nursing [administering medical care]." (37 Workers Rules, pt #15)

Note: The above conduct rule contains an exception. Here is the explanation. Suppose there is an accident and the injured party is of the opposite sex; the patient has a wound on their face, and a Wt is on the scene to help. When serving the patient of the opposite sex and tending to their wound, that Wt will have to look at their face in order to offer the requisite care needed. Outside of this circumstance, there is no need for any wholetimer to look at the face of the opposite sex. That is why the rule is that if a Wt is talking with the opposite sex then they will look towards the ground and not the face of the opposite sex.

- WT Conduct Rule: "Avadhuta / Avadhutika shall treat every woman of the world...as mother." (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #11)

- WT Conduct Rule: "Avadhuta / Avadhutika must not remain in a lonely place with any female." (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #13)

- Wt conduct rule: “Under no circumstances should the purity of the mind and body be polluted.” (32 Rules for Avadhutas, point #30)

- WT conduct rule: “Avadhuta must not engage his ears in hearing obscene language or song, touch any rajasika articles, see any depraving entity or picture, or go through any story, novel or picture having even a slight bit of sexual importance... All avadhutas should learn this mantra by heart: O Bhiks´u, O monk. Control your eyes, hearing, smell, tongue (taste), body, lips (speech) and mind. You should have all-round restraint, then you will overcome all pain (32 Rules for Avadhutas, point #32)

The letter, word, and spirit of Sadguru’s guidelines are that there must be clear and cordial separation between male Wts and female Wts - between members of the opposite sex. This is highly important to have a successful and thriving Wt cadre.

On What’s App, one margii named Ananda Thakur has disclosed that after the death of Dada Nigamananda that Dada Rudrananda confided in him his (Dada Rudrananda’s) desire to change Caryacarya because it had become irrelevant. This give the window to see that Dada Rudrananda is a devious fellow. Here are more details.

After demise of Nigamananda Dada, Rudrananda Dada with present PA dada and one more dada came to my residence in late evening and said- now this Caryacarya is 60 years old and is not suitable for present time it must be changed to suit present. 

I was surprised and sad . I told them Baba and Caryacarya are my life any system which deviates from it will not be recognised by me as anand marga. They said the treasury is empty etc etc which was not true. So you can understand with which motive these people started functioning. I shared this to several margis but they totally ignored it. Late but there is recognition of these facts now. This I had shared with MC dada also but he was also not a good taker.

The worst part of all is that in this day and age ignorant and uninformed people become the leader. You can imagine the result; it is disastrous. I am really surprised to find innocent Shambhusivananda dada with families. At least he should not sit or stand touching with sisters / ladies.

Baba Says in Caryacarya, "'Unrelated men and women should not touch one another as far as possible......"The more distant the relationship between men and women, the greater should be the courtesy maintained in mutual conversation and behaviour between them......" (Caryacarya-1)

Namaskar. While dada Shambhusivananda was studying at Harvard U , he attended a RTS held by me in New York and then after he became avadhuta i had interactions with him in DC's in California . Perhaps AMPS central is creating 2 types of avadhutas according to their own made-up rules. Avadhutas who can intimately be involved with opposite sex and no questions will be asked ..but must provide lots of $$$ to the central and other celibate strict avadhuta who are poor and follow Baba;s guidance and do pracar etc with no support from central office ..they are thrown into this worldly ocean to fend themselves.

The confused margii Kewal Dadaji #2.. Is making outlandish proclamation that if you contribute to Jamalpur then it will open the door of mukti and moksa. Such type of propaganda is disastrous. Those who know him kindly open his eyes. By spreading falsehood he is accumulating a nasty samskara which will hurt him.

Our Dadas should post photos & those photos should only be of our Ananda Marga service projects etc. And those photos should be posted to inspire others to support the great cause - i.e. bhagavad dharma and welfare to universal humanity.

And there are many more photos of Dada Shambhushivananda posing with young sisters. Please find those photos below. As you may know that Dada Shambhushivananda is in his advanced years and it is very unbecoming and against all avadhuta conduct rules for him to be mixing so loosely with the opposite sex. There is much more to be said but I think the photos speak for themselves.

​Baba says: Oppose corrupt wts - do not tolerate their behaviour

So here following is Baba’s great teaching where He guides us about the importance of pointing out the wrongdoing of close persons. Just like parents with love point out their kids, similarly with love we are to create the requisite circumstantial pressure so those who are very, very close to us - margiis, Wts, laokik relations, colleagues, and other respected persons etc - can mend their ways.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "If our own person or relative deviates from the truth or is lacking sincerity, oppose him, do not tolerate him. It does not matter if he is our own relative. If our own person is dishonest and insincere then he is more dangerous. Why? If there is a snake outside it is dangerous, but if a snake comes inside the house it is more dangerous. Therefore he [our close person] should be opposed more strongly." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology states, अपना आदमी हो, घर का आदमी हो ; कोई सत्य से इधर-उधर हट गया, sincerity की कमी जिनमें है—उसका विरोध करो, बर्दाश्त मत करो | अपना आदमी है तो क्या है | अपना आदमी अगर असाधु है, insincere है, तो, और भी अधिक ख़तरनाक है | क्यों ? बाहर में अगर साँप रहा, वह जितना ख़तरनाक है, घर में अगर साँप घुस गया तो और भी अधिक ख़तरनाक है | इसलिए, और भी, उसका अधिक विरोध होना चाहिए |”1

In His above guideline Baba explains that bad elements in society are dangerous, but bad elements inside your house - inside your organisation - are more dangerous. Do not tolerate them - oppose them.

This below Hindi material was propagated in the STO forum on What'sApp on 13 March:

"रुद्रानन्द उनसे गलत कार्यो को करवाने की सलाह देते है, जिससे REV, PP दादा बदनाम हो जाय। यदि कोई तीसरा कारण हो तो, उसका जवाब कौन देगा?.STO को नहीं लगता कि REV PP दादा जानकर उपरोक्क्त गलती कर रहे हों। क्योकि आप आध्यात्मिक स्तर पर इतने ऊपर पहुंच गए है । कि हमेशा बाबा के भाव में ही रहते है।"

The above Hindi section was propagated in the STO forum on What'sApp on 13 March that PP Dada Vishvadevananda is always ensconced in the high, exalted spiritual state of Brahmahood, i.e. Baba bhava, i.e. Brahma bhava. This is a very exalted state. PP has no awareness of day to day affairs or what is going on around him. So he signs the paper and he does not know. That is how Dada Rudrananda exploits him. This is what was falsely propagated in the What's App forum.

However, this idea of PP's greatness should not be taken literally. It is just Dada Mantracetanananda's political reply. PP is not an exalted person rather he is a very low person. And you know that Dada  Rudrananda and Dada Nigamananda chose him as PP because Dada Vishvadevananda was a spineless individual in the first place. They thought he would be easy to lord over.


Analogy of jackal

After Dada Nigamananda's death PP became the servant of Rudrananda. No matter how much you praise the jackal you cannot transform it into a lion. Because when it opens its mouth it will says "huan, huan" and it ill never roar like a lion.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Tolerating misdeeds is "very bad" - Baba says, "Intelligent people should no longer remain silent...They must not act like goody-goodies, seeing evil but continuing to tolerate it. This is very bad." (1)

In the following letter, brother Giriish has rightly written about PP Dada:

In this following quote, Baba says that top leaders are responsible for key problems. In Ranchi faction, Dada Vishvadevananda is the key, i.e. Purodha Pramukha. He is the main culprit for the debacle that is going on in AMPS, according to this below teaching.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “The behaviour of the respected and elder persons in society is an example and ideal for others; it is followed and imitated by the succeeding generations as well. Today there is catastrophe and misery in human society and there is one reason: the defective leadership of society. People blindly follow even unintelligent leaders. The leaders hypnotize and attract thousands with their tall talks, gestures and other dramatics. Understand that the poverty and misery of any people in any country are the sins of the leaders.” (2)

PP is happy sitting in the pocket of Rudrananda

• PP post is a social post he is not a spiritual Guru.
• PP cannot give varabhaya mudra.
• PP cannot create his own disciples.
• PP cannot spiritually bless anybody.
• PP cannot create any scripture.
• PP is bound by samskaras and avidya maya.

But PP projects himself as being the incarnation of god as he sits on the DMS dais and does not come down to do Guru puja with margiis etc. Nor does PP attend paincajanya, kiirtan, or dharmacakra etc. The list of his sinful conduct is long. Above all, PP dada is happy sitting in the pocket of Rudrananda. Meanwhile, all the Wts and margiis are getting exploited by alleged philanderer Wts and thugs. So you can imagine who is responsible. PP is the main leader of AMPS so whatever problem - small or big, PP is the malefactor according to the above BABA quote.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "We cannot call people “good” if they cannot lead people of all walks of life towards welfare. We can call them “goody-goodies” but not good people. Those who are truly good people will move bravely forward and provide inspiration and strength to those mute masses to fight against all kinds of obstacles, and give a clarion call to them to march ahead." (3)

Avadhuta threatens to fast unto death

Here is the attached circular where Dada MC has declared that he will fast unto death. His demands are as follows:

(a) Characterless central purodhas governing central AMPS should be removed from the post and punished for their sexual crimes.

(b) PP should not live under Rudrananda’s house arrest. He should allowed to have phone, communication, email, broadband, so he can communicate and talk with margiis and Wts as he likes, around the globe. Now when PP has contact with someone then Dada R’s agent is always there to monitor the situation.

(c) PP should have his own security detail so nobody can kill him.

(d) In AMPS the judiciary branch should be separate from the executive branch in order to deliver justice. Now the two are mixed. It is just like the police being the judge.

(e) AMPS should run according to Caryacarya with coordinated cooperation of family margiis. There should not be a monopoly of Wts.

(f) Didis dept should run independently. Now they are subservient to male Wts.
