Baba
Story: Ac Nagina did not attend
Note: This letter is not for those who do not follow Ananda Marga Caryacarya. By disobeying Caryacarya, such people observe the annual wake or death ceremony.
Namaskar,
Most of the margiis from Muzaffarpur had already left for Kolkata to participate in mahaprayan (MPD) dogma. Ac Shambhu ji's desire was that all margiis should reach Kolkata to attend MPD dogma. With this in mind, Shambhu ji went to see Ac Nagina ji and requested Nagina ji to join him on the journey to Kolkata. He suggested they go together to Tiljala.

Naginaji listened intently and told, "No, I am not going there."
"Why not?", Ac Shambhu ji inquired.
"For me, Baba has not gone anywhere. If I go to attend MPD dogma it will be very detrimental for my spiritual well-being,” Ac Naginaji replied.
"Why?"
"My heart does not believe that Baba can leave me. I just cannot conceive of this idea that Baba has left me. Day and night - all the 24hrs - I feel Baba's presence always. Then how can I believe that Baba is gone and that He has left me. I cannot. That is why I have no interest in going to Kolkata to participate in that dogma."
Hearing this, Ac Shambhu ji was shocked. Such a big gathering, and Ac. Naginaji does not want to go there. Shambhu ji tried hard in all kinds of ways to convince Nagina, but Ac Nagina ji did not budge and would not go. The talk went on for some time and Ac Nagina ji's conclusion the entire time was that, "Baba is with me - for me He has not gone anywhere."
(Ac Shambhu Prasad Verma of Muzafarrpur shared the above story.)
Going against Caryacarya
By all this it is clear that Ac Nagina ji did not appreciate nor support mahaprayan. This so-called mahaprayan is based on dogma. If anyone realises in their day to day life that Baba is with them, then they will not like to go to Kolkata to participate in that MPD dogma. Those sincere in sadhana will receive the grace of Parama Purusa Baba, and realise the futility of running in the external world searching for Parama Purusa.

In contrast, those who cannot realise this supreme truth and do not feel the existence of Parama Purusa Baba with them on a daily basis, such persons attend this annual shra’ddha death day, punya tithi, solemn commemoration dogma. By disobeying Baba, such people do not follow Ananda Marga Caryacarya and observe the annual wake or death ceremony.
Yet, the period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days. That is the rule as per Baba’s guideline in Caryacarya. But Tiljala has been observing this for the last 29 years.
Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (1)
Conclusion
Bhaktas never participate in the dogmatic annual death day ceremony. That is against pre-1990 Caryacarya.
Namaskar,
in Him,
Prema Shankar

What to do when our forefathers...
Here is an English summary of Baba’s original Hindi teaching from 1/1/84 morning general darshan at Ananda Nagar.
Suppose, in the past, your forefathers made some mistakes. Should we then think, "Our ancestors did this, so how can we not do this as well?" This type of mentality is dogmatic. Now, "Since forefathers have done errors, so we will also do those same wrongs" what type of argument is this? If our forefathers have done wrong then we should also commit those same mistakes?”
Some of our ancestors in AMPS unanimously passed the MPD dogma and inserted it into Caryacarya. Now, to pay homage to those purodhas who unanimously voted for this MPD dogma, we must rectify their mistake. That means we must not observe the dogma of MPD and Tiljala Publications [TP] should remove it from the appendix of TP’s post-1990 edition of Caryacarya part 1. That will be justice. Then we will have rectified their act and paid proper respect to those ancestors / forefathers. That is Baba’s guideline in His above teaching.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (2)
Futility of running around
The heart of sadhakas can only be satiated if one practices all the lessons of sadhana, especially 6th lesson. Then a sadhaka will receive the grace of Parama Purusa. One will feel His presence and realise the futility of running around in the external world searching for Him.
“Balancing Act” of Ac’s supporting MPD dogma
Our acaryas [Acs] say, “Sadguru Baba is guiding you”, and in the next breath those Acs say, “He is no more.” True bhaktas know that there is no such thing as mahaprayan for Sadguru Baba. As the Sadguru He is omnipresent. So those Acs who believe in and propagate that Sadguru is no more are confused.
When giving initiation, revising anyone’s lessons, or teaching further lessons of sadhana, our acaryas say, “I am just a medium - Sadguru Taraka Brahma Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is teaching you. He is ever-present and now He is giving you initiation."
So in one breath our Acs say that Sadguru Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji is guiding you and in the next breath some of our Acs say He is “no more” - mahaprayan. That is both hypocritical and sinful. Hypocritical because our acaryas are telling one thing and doing something else. By the mahaprayan dogma, certain Acs are telling that Guru is no more, yet when teaching sadhana our acaryas say, “I am just a medium - Sadguru Taraka Brahma Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is teaching you. He is ever-present and now He is giving you initiation."

It is similar to your own children playing before you and talking among themselves that, “My mother is dead.” As a mother, how will you feel. And not only that, they go one step ahead, before your eyes they started commemorating your annual death day ceremony. How do you feel about their ignorance?
Yet, the period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days. That is the rule as per Baba’s guideline in Caryacarya. But in Tiljala this has been going on for the last 29 years.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Now when the society is in a degenerate or depraved condition, where fissiparous tendencies dominate, where the static principle dominates, it becomes impossible for Parama Purus'a to remain unaffected or unassailed by human sentiments and human cries and human demands. Then and then only does He come in the form of Ta'raka Brahma. 'Ta'raka' means 'the liberator.' And that Ta'raka is the Ba'ba' of the created world. For Him devotees sing, 'Ba'ba' Na'ma Kevalam'." (1)
Only those with a proper standard of bhakti - agrya buddhi (i.e. pointed intellect) - realise in their heart Baba's Supreme stance. They understand that just as the style of Lord Krsna was different from that of Lord Shiva, similarly why should Baba follow the old pathways of Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna - such as driving the chariot in the battleground with His own hand.
Bhaktas of this category feel in their heart that this time Baba has established a completely new standard: That the grace of Parama Purusa is all that is needed to complete any task - anything. There is no need for His physical involvement; He need not hold the reigns of the chariot. Rather the chariot is moving by His divine grace and it will go on moving. In this way they understand deeply that Baba has fulfilled His promise.
By His grace heaven (dharma) is getting established on this dusty earth and very soon it will be apparent to one and all.

Ideal title / family name of Ananda Margii
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Casteism is a burden on the Hindu society. All the year round they preach casteism but on the polling days they decry it. This is wholly undesirable. It is better to avoid all titles. Titles signify the caste. If casteism is to be wiped out, it is incumbent to discard the titles. It is commendable if everyone adopts uniformity on title – Deva *. Persons using a particular word more often will influence their minds with the meaning of that word. People are reluctant to use the word dása because this word signifies slavery. Whenever the so-called low caste people catch an opportunity, they declare themselves as belonging to the so-called elevated caste, etc. It is an ideal to become deva and for this reason Deva title should be adopted." (1)
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Titles of the present society have undergone considerable changes during the past fifty years, the cause being that everyone aspires to pertain to an elevated caste. The so-called Shúdras also use the sacred thread. This is only an effort towards the concealment of one’s identity. By this means, they conceal only their disregarded status. This is to be regretted. It is consequent on social debility that they harbour the desire for changes in their situations. It is out and out purposeless to convene All-India Conferences or particular castes. All of them desire to assert and establish their rights. This is simply misuses of energy and money." (1)
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The consent of those embraced must be sought for before renaming them in Saḿskrta. Language has got nothing to do with religion and as such, there is no reason for anybody depreciating the use of Saḿskrta. In this connection it may be added that the great emperor Aurangzeb used the term sudhárasa (juice of nectar) for mango (original Saḿskrta term for mango is ámra) and saddharma for Islam." (1)
So many areas of the globe are affected by caste, race, and communal feeling. Here above Baba gives the perfect antidote and solution to such narrow-minded and harmful thinking.
* Note: The title Deva should be suffixed to males and the suffix Devii should be suffixed to females.

selfless devotion and untiring action - Ananda Vanii #5
Ananda Vanii states, “The accumulated distortions of many lifetimes cannot be removed in the twinkling of an eye. The removal of these distortions requires prolonged cultivation of knowledge, selfless devotion and untiring action. The world expects tremendous work from you; so you must not sit idle like a frog in a well under the spell of inertia. Therefore awake, arise.” (1)
Note 1: The above is one of Baba’s original Ananda Vaniis. These original and true Ananda Vaniis are unique, eternal guidelines that stand as complete discourses in and of themselves. They are unlike Fake Ananda Vaniis.
