Mahaprayan of elder Prout Dada

Baba

Mahaprayan of elder Prout Dada

Namaskar,

It is with much sadness that we share the news of the mahaprayan of Ac Krtashivananda Avt. All who knew Dada ji remember him as a longtime, senior Prout worker  committed to the teachings of Ananda Marga and dedicated to Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. Acaryaji was instrumental in working in the Prout office in Europe for many years, primarily in Copenhagen.

Acarya Krtashivananda was always very keen and eager to apply his talents and energy to topics on Prout. Over the many years in the Marga, Acaryaji was known for his various talks and writings including the "Prout Manifesto." The mahaprayan of Ac Krtashivananda ji is a great loss to us all.

Unfortunately, Acaryaji was not well of late and became quite confused about his relation with Guru and Ananda Marga. This was a sad and unfortunate period for him. Ultimately, on Sunday (10 Sep 2017) Dada ji underwent his mahaprayan late that evening while lying in bed at his residence in Ulm, Germany. Dada Krtashivananda ji was 80 years of age.

The shraddha ceremony for Dada Krtashivananda ji will be held on Sunday 17th September at 10.30 in the morning at Ananda Diipa (Reich 2, 88267 Vogt, Germany - tel. 0049-7529-4850001). Those who come from far away may arrive the day before and overnight at Ananda Diipa or at Ananda Ashram (Dada Madhuvidyananda and Dada Dhiirabhadra’s jagrti).

May we all take solace in the fact that our dear elder brother Acarya Krtashivananda Avt was a bhakta of Sadguru Baba. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His infinite grace.

at the lotus feet of Baba,
Haridarshan

~ In-depth study ~

We have seen that when somebody dies then in offering their condolences people say now Mr So-and-so is sitting on Baba's lap. On other occasions when telling a Baba story people also say, "Such and such person sat on Baba's lap." But these days the trend is that "sitting on Baba's lap" is used more in connection with death. And that causes some confusion in reader's mind. To unknot the situation please read below.

Dogma: if "on Baba's lap" only used for death

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

- "May Parama Purusa Baba accept her in HIS divine lap"

- "May his soul rest in the lap of our beloved BABA"

- "Now she is taking rest in Baba's Lap."

- "May Baba accept him in HIS divine lap....."

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in Bábá's loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in peace taking shelter in Baba's lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

- "We all collectively pray to Baba to take him on Baba's divine lap forever.”

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. These days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's intimate spiritual experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their inner feelings of bhakti. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

Baba story: "sitting on Baba's lap"

Some time ago after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba. He said, "After being lovingly scolded by Baba for my wrongdoings, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his factual and historical event, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries. Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this. The new sadhaka sensed that something was wrong He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if in order to sit on Baba’s lap one has to die. But that is false. Sincere sadhakas regularly sit on Baba’s lap in their meditation. It is His grace. It is just like a child need not die in order to sit on his father’s lap.

The idea is that this phrase - Baba's lap - has been linked with death due to extreme overuse. So for some time if sadhakas use this phrase exclusively for spiritual purposes, that will be best. The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its pure spiritual quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

Baba would bless bhaktas and place them on His lap

There are tens of thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply mystical value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and sadhana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply intimate experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a spiritual practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in sadhana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

"Mahaprayan" means death of mortals - confirm for yourself
from the Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary

Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in our Bengal to describe the death of any human being, even ordinary people. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily term of bhakti to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no bhaktas ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

Here it should be known that the convention of an annual death day ceremony (i.e. shraddhainjali or mahaprayan) is a foundation of the Islamic tradition. Muslims are well known for this, and their approach of an annual death day ceremony was adopted by the leader of a particular group in AMPS. So no one should think that mahaprayan is some type of sacred event. It is done on the death day anniversary of Muslims.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary 3rd edition on page 848. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it is used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens. And that is the case in this letter also. The term mahaprayan means death and this is the ideal term for this purpose.

Mahaprayan is only for humans not for Sadguru

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being, just like the aforesaid news. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Sadguru Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa. Those doing mahaprayan for Sadguru are hypocrites. On the one side in meditation they ask His grace thinking that He is ever-present, and on the other side they think that Baba has passed way. That is their hypocrisy.

Didi celebrates donkey birthday

Baba

Didi celebrates donkey birthday

Note: This letter is only for those who have reverence for Sadguru Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji and try to learn and follow His Ananda Marga ideology.

Namaskar,
Ananda Marga ideology highlights the importance of one’s spiritual initiation as a time of birth.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “The first birth was the physical birth, and the second birth was the spiritual birth, during initiation.” (1)

Hence, one should not think that the physical birth which results from the spermatozoa fertilising the egg is one grand birthday event. Life should be spiritually oriented, not goaded toward the mundane.

Thus, every Wt in our Marga should think twice about how far they should celebrate their “birthday”. For avadhutas / avadhutikas there is no question of celebrating as they have given up everything of their unit existence for Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. At each and every juncture or stage of an avadhuta’s / avadhutika’s training they are given a new name because each stage itself represents a new birth – a new beginning, all the while leaving behind their old life. In which case, where is the scope for an avadhuta / avadhutika to celebrate their own worldly birthday.

The spirit of being an avadhuta / avadhutika is to dedicate everything to Marga Gurudev. By getting avadhuta / avadhutika diiksa and by getting their new avadhuta / avadhutika name, they no longer have anything of their own. In that blessed state, everything belongs to Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. And Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is their mother, father, & everything. That is the oath they have taken.

They surrender their all – their entire I-feeling – at His lotus feet. Their name has changed; their address has changed; their identity has changed. They have no past connection with their worldly life, nor their worldly birth. Avadhutas / avadhutikas give everything to Parama Purusa – they have nothing left to call their own.

That is why in the conduct rules of the avadhuta / avadhutika, there is no such thing as the observance of one’s own donkey birthday or any form of celebration or glorification of one’s own unit existence. Rather the avadhuta’s / avadhutika’s goal of life and the be-all end-all of their existence is to glorify Parama Purusa. They are to be established solely in Marga’s Guru’s glory.

In which case, where is the scope for an avadhuta / avadhutika to celebrate their own worldly birthday.

Conclusion

As you think so shall you become. This is the fundamental characteristic of Ananda Marga sadhana. Ideate on Brahma and then one can become Brahma. If one thinks about oneself then the mind becomes smaller, smaller, and smaller. That mind will be degenerated and unfit to get human life - what to say about liberation.

Celebrating the birthday is entirely ego-centric. All come to praise that individual. It is antithetical to common ethics of Ananda Marga and very detrimental for spiritual progress. It is common sense that not only avadhutas & avadhutikas, even general margiis constantly think of their ista mantra, and not about their own self. That is why in Ananda Marga no sincere sadhaka / Wt etc celebrates donkey birthday.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Radhika’

Why it is called donkey birthday

In Ananda Marga, if anything is done for superficial show or in an insincere manner then that is not at all good. And if kiirtan is sung with the primary motive as a display of one’s musical talent instead of spreading the glory of the Supreme Entity, then that is donkey kiirtan.

Likewise, when any Wt or avadhutika celebrates their own birthday in their honour instead of spreading the glory of Parama Purusa, then their celebration is a donkey birthday.

One should not think that when the spermatozoa fertilises the egg—and a baby is born—that this particular human life is a piece in the long chain of life and death. In the course of the day, on average one breathes 22,00 - 24,000 times. And those who repeat their ista mantra and coordinate it with the breath experience a rebirth each and every breath. Of course, when you get initiation that is another birth. And when you become a Wt that is another birth. And when you become an avadhuta that is another birth. So sadhakas have so many births and after all one should not be glorying oneself. So talking about birthday is a waste of time.

Pashvacariis are half-margiis

Some naive persons may raise the question that when Baba has given the birthday celebration chapter in Caryacarya, then what is wrong if our avadhutas / avadhutikas celebrate their birthday? The answer is quite clear. In Caryacarya, Baba also explains what type of meat a person should eat if they cannot resist eating meat. But that does not mean sincere sadhakas and avadhutas / avadhutikas should also eat meat or that we should appreciate meat eating.

Remember, Caryacayra is our smrti shastra – our social code – which is not eternal. It depends upon time, space, and person. All kinds of people are coming into Ananda Marga. For some, Baba has given such rules for periods of transition onto the path of dharma.

In Ananda Marga there are three types of sadhakas: pashvacariis (pashvácára: “Animal Way”, the first level of Tantra practice in which the aspirant struggles against animal instincts), viiracariis (heros), and divyacariis (divine). Pashvacariis are half-margiis; viiracariis are mediocre sadhakas, and those who are very strict and do not compromise on points of dharma are divyacariis. There will always be a mixture of all three grades of sadhakas. Always, new people are coming into human life and they will enter onto the path of pashvacara. After many lives and with the grace of Parama Purusa, they will one day become viiracariis.

This point of eating meat in Caryacarya is for pashvacariis. They compromise on various aspects of 16 points, but they are also margiis. They live amongst us—we all know this and recognize who is who. A person may not openly declare, “I am a pashvcarii; I am a half-margii”, but everyone knows.

When such pashvacariis become strong, established margiis, their manner will be different. Then they will not do such things like eating meat and celebrating their birthday.

Just as meat-eating is a hindrance to those on that path of sadhana; similarly, indulging in self-glorification—such as celebrating a donkey birthday—is not conducive to one’s spiritual progress. Rather it is antithetical. AM spiritual philosophy condemns all forms of self-glorification.

What is the harm of self-propaganda and celebrating birthday

Here the point is not about eating cake. All know that our Wts are free to eat all kinds of tasty delicacies and sweets that are sentient. So cake is not the issue here. The reason why it is a donkey birthday is because such occasions are all self-centeredness and self-glorification. That is the root cause of the problem.

Baba's strict guidelines against self-praise

Be silent worker | (2)

Here is the English translation of above conversation:-

Who does "Meow, meow"?

"You did a little work and propagate; 'I have done , I have done .'  "I have done this, I have done that". People praise themselves too much saying 'I', 'I'. Oh, why would you say that much I, I.

Oh, why would you say "Meow, meow"? If anyone does "Meow, meow, meow" it is a cat.(*)

(Laughter)

What do you think? Who does "Meow, meow"? The cat. Yes.

Man does a little, (showing with the two fingers and thumb of His hand) this much, and expresses (showing by expanding both the hands to max) this much.

Don't do like this. Continue to do work with His thought in mind. No need to tell anybody about it. Parama Purusa is doing every work of the entire universe; does He talk about it? No He does not. Niirav karmi bano, Be a silent worker." (3)

(*) The cat makes the sound “meow, meow”, and that sound is very similar to the Hindi word for “I” or “oneself.” So according to Hindi, it sounds like the cat just moves around all day glorifying itself - meow meow. So Baba is making a joke that human beings should not glorify themselves all day long (“I did this”, “I did that”) like the cat - meow, meow.

Watch out - you may come across some Wts whose behaviour is similar - they praise themselves and say, “I did this and I did that.” As they are our family members, we should politely tell them not to praise themselves but sing the glory of Parama Purusa - not self-glorification.

Perpetually fed by praise

Here we see how selfishness leads to so many psychic maladies.

When people are solely focused on their own ego-satisfaction, then frustration is always side-by side. Because the moment they do not get what they want, then frustration arises. And this condition is accompanied by other psychic afflictions as well.

On the occasions they are praised by others they either feel arrogant or become dependent on that praise. For instance, they may not do anything other than for the desire to be praised. And when they are not praised, they are crushed and prone to despair - and may give up that work entirely.

The worst outcome is that people foolishly forget that whatever little strength they have is just the gift of Parama Purusa. Devoid of this thinking they become egotistical and full of vanity. And in result they invite their ruination.

"Aham'ka'rah patanasya mu'lam" (4)

Meaning: Pride goeth before a fall

So this malady has come from the offshoot of materialism. Mostly materialistic minded people, those whose be-all and end-all of life is matter, suffer from such types of diseases. And they need day-long appreciation by others. Otherwise frustration and depression engulfs them. Such an unfortunate episode has become the norm.

Now is the time we should analyse how far Baba appreciates this self-praise - or the habit of enjoying self-praise. How far does this selfishness have any value in the life of true human beings. We should see carefully whether this self-aggrandizement is something meaningful or detrimental.

Wt Conduct Rules

Wt conduct rule -- “Avadhuta / avadhutika shall always keep himself engaged in the service of Gurudeva with sincerity and devotion, in thought, words and deed, in subtle and in crude spheres, in inner and outer expressions of life.” (5)

Wt conduct rule --  "We are all the children of the same Father, we are all the members of the same family. By fighting against all kinds of evil forces, we will establish the glory of our Father and the glory of our family." (6)

Wt conduct rule --  "One should make others good by becoming an ideal person." (7)

Wt conduct rule --  "One should follow discipline very strictly." (8)

Wt conduct rule --  "One should be ready always to accept all suffering as rewards and become an ideal son / daughter of the Cosmic Father." (9)

This is the Didi who

The name of the Didi is Didi Ananda Giita who is very senior and well known to all - indeed everyone is aware that she has created her own faction and that is called the Giita Group. Didiji is well known for celebrating donkey birthday.

Feasting on dead body + 3 more

Baba

Feasting on dead body

Namaskar,

1. According to Ananda Marga teachings, the financial responsibility of cremating the dead body falls on the unit / bhukti, not the grieving family.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

2. On the one side the mourning family lost its earning member or loved one; and, at the same time, relatives and guests come and the family has to feed them. This is both unphysiological and inhumane.

3. Those crying and suffering do not want to eat; their mindset is different. Yet those who go there to console them are eating in the house of the grieving family; that is abhorrent.

4. Those who went to console the grieving family should eat at a restaurant or at another site arranged by the bhukti etc. The family should not pay. No undue burden or headache should be placed on the family of the deceased.

5. But this is not followed in some Ananda Marga units, unfortunately. Rather the family of the deceased often has to incur loans to offer a feast.

6. Baba has wiped out this exploitative last rites dogma. The standard in Ananda Marga is that even the cost of the cremation should be managed by the bhukti. The grieving family must not be burdened by or allowed to spend one penny on these rites.

7. Here also the bhukti is not responsible for making a feast during the time of shraddha. This is bad for various reasons including competing over the size of the feast for various bhukti members when they pass. So there should not be any type of feast at all as part of the shraddha.

8. The overall spirit is not to give financial burden or problem to the suffering family.

9. But in many instances where hypocrisy is done then food is not taken in their house but the deceased family must pay the food arrangement in a restaurant or in neighbors house. That happens in some places but that is sinful. It is a very deceptive practice.

10. In so many places there are wts involved in hypocrisy. They pressure the grieving family and ask for donations. This is their vulture’s habit; they survive off of the dead.

Conclusion

11. Remember, depending on the food of the deceased family is dirty and sinful.

12. Every unit should have a last rites fund. To ensure fair treatment regardless of whether one is financially rich or poor, an independent board will manage those funds and donors cannot dictate how funds are spent - such as a financially wealthy person who is on his deathbed cannot donate funds for a feast at his own death ceremony. The independent board will adhere to all dharmic guidelines and will not be swayed by single donors etc.

Question from margii

Question: You know, there are other communities (a.k.a. outside of Ananda Marga) that offer food as a way of showing hospitality to those people who came to a wake or funeral to offer condolences to the bereaved person. The food has nothing to do with the deceased. Do you think Baba is saying that this is bad, too?

Just wondering how to deal with other cultures in light of our own. In my country, and in my extended family, this practice is done to show hospitality only. Nothing to do with ostentatiousness; nothing to do with the priest class receiving food. It is purely for the guests who might have come from many hours away to pay their respects and to offer their condolence.

Answer: If there was no death would those family members and relatives from afar still have come during that time. If the answer is no, then this shows that they came for the death ceremony and should not be fed by the grieving family - but rather fed by the bhukti. There are many wrongs going in the various religions and to remove all such dogmas Ananda Marga has been created.

I was lost in a sea of materialism & sleeping alone in the pitch dark room

"Ghor timire ruddha ghare ghumucchilum eka' eka'..." (Prabhat Samgiita #1723)

Purport:

O' Supreme Entity, I was lost in a sea of materialism. I was sleeping alone in the pitch dark room with the doors and windows closed. Seeing my sorrowful condition, You suddenly came to this isolated place, broke my slumber  of ignorance, and gave me Your darshan, showed the path of enlightenment. Who are You who is most charming and prema personified.

O' Effulgence-Personified, that slumber of atheistic way of life kept me in a prolonged state of depression and sadness. By Your auspicious arrival, You have illumined everything by opening the doors and windows of satya loka. O’ Parama Purusa, with Your infinite compassion, in a flash, You removed my sorrows by showering me in Your godly grace. For ages and ages I was forlorn; my whole existence was in a drowsy and sleepy state. My life was dominated by staticity. Now, instead of being submerged in that Cimmerian darkness, I am immersed and surrounded by Your infinite divine love. I can see that You are mine; now there is no question of any frustration in my life.

O' Parama Purusa, Baba, now everything is filled with Your spiritual effulgence. Not even an iota of darkness remains. I am wholly immersed in bliss. My life has gotten new pra'n' a - new energy. Please fill my awakened life with nector of Your unfathomable love and affection.

Baba, You are my everything. Please accept my surrender...

Prout: rise above sentiments like nationalism

Prout philosophy states, "The more the human mind becomes magnanimous or expanded, the more it rises above the sentiments of tribalism, communalism, provincialism, etc. Often I hear people say that nationalism is an appreciable sentiment and that there is no narrowness in it. But is this true? Nationalism is also relative, just like tribalism, communalism or provincialism. In some places it is more worthwhile than tribalism, communalism or provincialism, while in other places it is less worthwhile."

"Let us consider, for example, the case of a Portuguese nationalist. The mental object of a Muslim communalist is certainly larger than that of a Portuguese nationalist, because the former desires the welfare of a greater number of people than the latter. This is because the number of Muslims in the world is greater than the number of Portuguese. Judged from this perspective, I cannot denounce the sentiments of a Muslim communalist in comparison to a Portuguese nationalist. Similarly, it has to be accepted that the sentiments of a Rajput casteist are broader than those of a Portuguese nationalist, because the former desires the welfare of more people than the latter. Likewise, the feelings of an Andhrite provincialist will have to be considered broader than those of a Portuguese nationalist. If one supports provincialism with seventy-five million Bengalees, it must be accepted that these feelings are more expanded than the nationalism of most of the nations of the world. (The population of most of the nations of the world is less than the population of Bengal.)"

Prout philosophy states, "Hence it is observed that communalism, casteism, provincialism and nationalism are all of the same defective type. Those who are able to capitalize on one of these sentiments advocate it volubly. In fact, every one of these sentiments suffers from the defect of ism, and is completely filled with narrowness, violence, envy, mean mindedness, etc. Those who enter the field of social welfare by creating divisions between “yours” and “mine”, substantially widen the fissures of fissiparous intellect in human society."

"Those who want to promote the welfare of all human beings, remaining above all sorts of parochial sentiments, have no alternative but to embrace universalism with their heart and soul – there is no other way. As universalism is totally devoid of any characteristic of ism, it is not proper to depict universalism as an ism. If everyone is looked upon as one's own, no one remains beyond the periphery of one's kith and kin. Naturally, then, there is no scope for violence, envy, narrowness, etc." (1)

Orgy in “Path of Bliss” group

Baba

Orgy in “Path of Bliss” group

Namaskar,

Our avadhutas are to lead society into the bright new era by their conduct. So if their conduct is not proper that brings their entire existence into question. Sadly, here we raise the alleged characterless behaviour of a repeat offender. And while this Wt has allegedly fallen into sin on numerous occasions, here we examine one especially egregious incident that should put everyone on alert.

Wt K took oath for the progress of married couple

The Wt in question solemnized the marriage ceremony of two young, idealistic margiis: Arati and Ranjan González. Wt K took a vow to watch for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the married couple. This oath was taken in the name of Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji.

Ananda Marga Carycarya states, “We say on oath in the name of Parama Brahma and Márga Gurudeva that we are witnesses to this wedding. By the grace of all-merciful Brahma, may we be helpful to the best of our capacity for the all-round progress of this newly-married couple.” (Ananda Marga Caryacarya Part 1, Marriage Ceremony)

Wt K was actively involved in this marriage and recited the above oath in the name of Sadguru Baba. Yet very soon into Ranjan and Arati González’s marriage, Wt K allegedly seduced Arati and had a romantic affair with her. Ranjan came home one day and found Wt K in bed with his wife. That incident utterly destroyed Ranjan and Arati’s marriage and ruined their promising careers as Ananda Margiis.

Although the Ranjan González grew up in a financially impoverished area, he carefully saved and made a trip to India to immerse himself in our Ananda Marga way of life. So he was keen to progress on the path of Ananda Marga. Yet when he came home on that fateful day and found Wt K sleeping with Arati, Ranjan became a shattered and broken man. He became completely disillusioned and basically left the path, as did his wife, Arati. Their marriage could not be salvaged, and their career as sadhakas was severely affected.

So Wt K ruined their marriage and their spiritual lives, yet still to this day Wt K is allegedly regularly sleeping with members of the opposite sex. Wt K has shown no remorse for his wrongdoing and has never asked for punishment.

Look how Didi wrongly blamed Arati

Here is one other horrible twist to this tragedy. When this incident became known to local margiis and acaryas, then one avadhutika had the audacity to defend Wt and put 100% of the blame on the young impressionable Arati. This Didi called Arati the real culprit. But this is just preposterous because Wt K is an avadhuta and has taken a staunch vow to not indulge. Wt K is the leader and senior person so all responsibility and accountability falls squarely on his shoulders. Wt K is not some college kid etc, rather he is a longtime avadhuta. So Didi’s public defense of Wt’s illicit dealing only spoiled the situation even more.

Conclusion

As Ananda Margiis, it is high time we took proper hold of the organisation and stood up to the sinful, salacious, and debased dealings of some Wts like Wt K. For more details about this incident and related events please scroll down through this email.

~ In-depth study ~

Sadguru says in His discourse entitled Conduct of Acarya: "Those who have the responsibility to show the path to others should be of superlative character with the most refined conduct. They and their followers must move constantly towards all-round development and shreya [ultimate spiritual attainment]. Persons who teach such well-regulated behaviour to others by their own conduct are called ácáryas." (1)

Sadguru says in His discourse entitled Conduct of Acarya: "Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an ácárya. Just as it is the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good conduct, an ácárya or ácáryá should always instruct by his or her exemplary actions and words." (2)

Ananda Marga philosophy warns how improper leadership brings terrible harm to society.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Today there is catastrophe and misery in human society and there is one reason: the defective leadership of society. People blindly follow even unintelligent leaders. The leaders hypnotize and attract thousands with their tall talks, gestures and other dramatics. Understand that the poverty and misery of any people in any country are the sins of the leaders. True leaders should always be vigilant and think how to work best for human society: they must be ever cautious that under their guidance the people are not led to darkness, death and immorality.” (3)

Wt conduct rules

Here are Sadguru Baba’s guidelines for all wholetimer Dadas and Didis of the Marga.

- WT Conduct Rule: "You will protect yourself from sexual weakness and luxury." (WT Conduct Rules, Fourteen Points, pt #12)

- WT Conduct Rule: "One should not look at the face of the opposite sex except at the time of nursing [administering medical care]." (37 Workers Rules, pt #15)

Note: The above conduct rule contains an exception. Here is the explanation. Suppose there is an accident and the injured party is of the opposite sex; the patient has a wound on their face, and a Wt is on the scene to help. When serving the patient of the opposite sex and tending to their wound, that Wt will have to look at their face in order to offer the requisite care needed. Outside of this circumstance, there is no need for any wholetimer to look at the face of the opposite sex. That is why the rule is that if a Wt is talking with the opposite sex then they will look towards the ground and not the face of the opposite sex.

- WT Conduct Rule: "Avadhuta / Avadhutika shall treat every woman of the world...as mother." (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #11)

- WT Conduct Rule: "Avadhuta / Avadhutika must not remain in a lonely place with any female." (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #13)

- Wt conduct rule: “Under no circumstances should the purity of the mind and body be polluted.” (32 Rules for Avadhutas, point #30)

- WT conduct rule: “Avadhuta must not engage his ears in hearing obscene language or song, touch any rajasika articles, see any depraving entity or picture, or go through any story, novel or picture having even a slight bit of sexual importance... All avadhutas should learn this mantra by heart: O Bhiks´u, O monk. Control your eyes, hearing, smell, tongue (taste), body, lips (speech) and mind. You should have all-round restraint, then you will overcome all pain (32 Rules for Avadhutas, point #32)

The letter, word, and spirit of Sadguru’s guidelines are that there must be clear and cordial separation between male Wts and female Wts - between members of the opposite sex. This is highly important to have a successful and thriving Wt cadre.

More about the above incident & Wt’s photo

  • To protect the privacy of the married couple, in the above account pseudonyms (Ranjan and Arati) were used.

  • Wt Krpasundarananda is the Wt K who slept with Arati. But this is not an isolated incident. Krpasundarananda is unwieldy as he is completely goaded by animalistic propensities, which is the exact opposite of yoga and avadhuta life. Wherever K goes he has a string of liaisons in tow. And remember this is the Wt who has been taking young co-eds on long tours through India. He allegedly uses the entire globe as his stomping ground for sensual indulgence and delight. Not taking a stiff stand against him on this matter means allowing him to continue on - utterly desecrating what it means to be an acarya.

  • The above described incident took place in Mexico of NY sector, but this Wt travels everywhere. So sisters around the globe should be wary and take proper precautions around Krpasundarananda because he is completely dominated by his animal instinct. He has no control whatsoever. That is why there was such a need to detail the above account. Because to this day wherever Wt K goes he is allegedly indulged in this manner.

  • Sadly, Krpasundarananda is not the only Wt involved in such unsavoury dealings in his area. He pals around with certain other overseas Wts who are also grossly debauched. Indeed, both Wt Krpasundarananda and his neighbour Wt Anuvratananda are allegedly indulged in various opposite sex relations. So they are bound together in their depravity. That is why they are pals - and they have other cronies as well. For instance, they have welcomed a new arrival into their fold who has an equally dark history from his days in Manila sector. All these Wts are bonded at the hip. Here Baba characterizes their friendship:

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Within a gang of thieves, one of them says appreciatively, “Oh! The sleight-of-hand of such-and-such other thief is marvellous – he has made a fool of me!” Here one pickpocket is praising another, because they belong to the same group. But one who does not belong to that gang of pickpockets will never appreciate it.” (4)

  • Some may wonder how these orgy type of Dadas meet and sleep with so many women. After all, there are many males in the general society who pay prostitutes. But generally these Wts need not do that. So the question arises, what tactic do they employ to lure females. One strategy is to promise travel. Some of the women really cherish the opportunity to go to distant lands. So when they meet a Wt who has been all over the globe, and that Wt tells them that they can travel the seven seas together, then the women get enticed. They dream of having a secret rendezvous in an exotic bungalow etc. Ultimately though, those dreams crash to the ground when they realise that Wt has girlfriends all over the globe and he will never take her anywhere.

  • The name of the Didi who openly defended Wt K and blamed Arati instead is Didi Ananda Mamata. Rather than have empathy and supportive words for the young wife, Didi Ananda Mamata threw her under the bus. Shame on didi for having a black pact with Wt relinquishing him of all wrongdoing, when in fact it was Wt K who was the real sinner. One can only guess what Didi has to hide, otherwise why would she publicly defend such a debauched Wt like Krpasundarananda.
