Stampede in Jamalpur / Tiljala + 6 more

Baba

Stampede in Jamalpur / Tiljala

Namaskar,

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "People generally want to live without intense sádhaná in the spiritual sphere and without much effort in the mundane sphere. When people seek to acquire fortune or attain salvation without proper effort, then they try to remove their sins by visiting the so-called holy places of pilgrimage – they try to escape across the Baetarańii [Styx] by holding the tails of calves! The merchants [priests, Wts, mullahs, rabbis etc] in those holy places understand this mental weakness of the people, and by taking advantage of it, exploit them to the utmost. As a result, the pilgrims are unable to worship as they should, and are misguided into moving from one place to another by these exploiters. But this does not satisfy their spiritual hunger, and they feel they have not at all been relieved of their sins. Thus people of static mentality waste their valuable time, energy and money rushing from one place of pilgrimage to another." (1)

Here below is a typical event at a religious holy site. There is large mass of people, i.e. a situation for a stampede.

Here above is a typical event at a religious holy site. There is large mass of people whereby a stamped could occur at any time. A mass of religious followers are tightly bound together in a confined area bordered by a river, trees, and walls. And the exit route is quite narrow. You can easily see how in the event of widespread panic, those who are weaker and smaller, or anyone who trips and falls, will become a victim of a stampede when the crowds move en masse in a particulate direction. It is a scary and deadly disaster waiting to happen.

Human stampedes are tragic and unfortunate events that are often a direct result of an overload of people attending dogmatic tiirtha / so-called holy land programs. Due to their ignorance, innocent victims get hoarded and shuttled towards so-called holy lands in hopes of getting some worldly, so-called boon (money, spouse, promotion, marriage, so-called heaven etc). But in that commotion and crowd, tragedy often strikes. People get trampled to death.

“Holy land” dogma: Tiljala, Jamalpur, Ananda Nagar

Where there is holy land dogma / tiirtha there could be stampede anytime. If we are not careful, this type of horrific stampede will occur in Tiljala, Jamalpur, or Ananda Nagar etc, sadly. For years, certain Dadas have been extremely keen and working hard to turn certain places (Tiljala, Jamalpur, Ananda Nagar, etc) into so-called tiirthas. Verily they are declaring those spots as so-called holy lands. They are beating the drum proclaiming that all who attend will gain fictitious virtues.

It is well known that Sarvatmananda, Pranavatmakananda, Parmeshvarananda, Rudrananda, and PP Vishvadevananda regularly promote how all should come to their various so-called holy lands at Tiljala for MPD, Jamalpur, and Ananda Nagar to get a blessing. PP Vishvadevananda and central purodhas openly propagate this holy land dogma at their various lectures. For Sarvatmananda, Pranavatmakananda, Parmeshvarananda, Rudrananda, and PP Vishvadevananda etc, this entire so-called holy land drama is about making money by drawing people to their “holy land” and emptying their wallets. It is a cash cow. So they all employ their stooges to propagate their chosen “holy land.” With the inculcation of this religious dogma, in our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, we have all the makings of a stampede. It is so sad. Herein lies the operative formula.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Abundance of blind people + crafty priests = Deadly Stampede

It is most unfortunate that those at the helm in Tiljala and Jamalpur are following the dogmatic tradition of religious holy lands. For their selfish reasons and financial scheming, they want crowds to rally in their campuses for so-called boons. This is a recipe for disaster. In that case, a stampede in Tiljala, Jamalpur, or Ananda Nagar is sadly inevitable as this so-called tiirtha / so-called holy land dogma continues to be propagated.

Remember, some margiis come from a Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Jewish, of Christian background, so they were born and raised in an environment where the holy land dogma was highly regarded. And due to a lack of knowledge of Guru’s teachings, they feel comfortable with the idea of a so-called tiirtha or so-called holy land.

Priests are misguiding them

All the while, those so-called top Dadas - Sarvatmananda, Pranavatmakananda, Parmeshvarananda, Rudrananda, Madhuvratananda, and PP Vishvadevananda - know that so-called tiirthas are wrong and sinful; but they do it anyway to reach their politico-economic agenda. Side by side, some of the mass of margiis are not aware that these priests are misguiding them; rather they have been drawn in to get a so-called boon. By this way, our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha is fast churning itself into the embodiment of religious dogma. Pre 1990, such Dadas were careful not to openly use the terms tiirtha and holy land, but in the past many years they have been openly preaching about their so-called holy lands etc.

Next we see in the below photo what the aftermath of a stampede looks like. Those lying on the ground are not taking rest or sleeping; they are dead. They were crushed by their fellow worshipers during a horrific stampede. This type of tragedy is a recurring event these days as people flock to holy sites to get boons. This will repeat itself over and over again so long as this dogmatic worship and human ignorance exist on this earth. And if we are not careful it will happen in our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha as well, sadly.

In the above photo, tragically those are dead bodies. Those victims were crushed by their fellow worshipers during the stampede. So long as dogmatic worship and human ignorance exist on this earth, such tragic episodes will recur. Sadly, each day our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha is growing increasingly prone to this type of tragedy as so-called top Dadas raise their rallying cries to attend their dogmatic, holy land programs.

How to save yourself

To keep yourself safe, it is important to avoid the following places during their so-called holy land programs:
  • Tiljala tiirtha in October during MPD (Mahaprayan Divas)
  • Jamalpur tiirtha in March during DMS
  • Ananda Nagar during summer & New Year’s DMS

Conclusion

The horrific loss of human life we have witnessed time and again as deadly stampedes steamroll helpless victims during religious festivals and soon this is bound to happen in Tiljala or Jamalpur etc, sadly.

As Ananda Margiis it is our duty to educate one another and the masses at large. We have to think that this is our fault that we could not educate the common people about this tiirtha dogma and guide them that God / Allah / Khuda’ / Parama Purusa exists within. Because of this shortcoming, people are still rushing in this direction - i.e. outwardly towards dogmatic tiirtha sites. Thereby tragedy strikes.

By avoiding the aforementioned sites (Tiljala, Jamalpur, Ananda Nagar) during their call for so-called holy land programs, then you will not become a statistic in the event of a deadly stampede. Now is the time to be beware. With the way those Dadas are making their feverish pitches to promote their invented “holy land”, we can see how our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha is not immune to this type of tragedy / stampede.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The Supreme Being is omnipresent, all-pervading and witness to everything, everywhere. It is not proper to confine Him to a particular place and say that He has eaten butter at this place or taken a dip in the Ganges at that particular place, thus limiting Him to a particular region or a particular country or the glorification of a particular sacred place, and thereby limit His all-pervasiveness" (2)

Namaskar,
In Him,
Tiirtheshvara

By seeing the below photo it is obvious that those lying on the road are not taking rest or sleeping; rather they are already dead. They were crushed by their fellow worshipers during the recent stampede during Hajj - the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca. That is the sad state of affairs, unfortunately. This type of tragedy is a recurring theme and will repeat itself over and over again so long as this dogmatic worship and human ignorance exist on this earth.

Once again, by seeing the above photo it is obvious that those lying on the road are not taking rest or sleeping; rather they are already dead. They were crushed by their fellow worshipers during the stampede. That is the sad state of affairs, unfortunately.       This type of tragedy is a recurring theme and will repeat itself over and over again so long as this dogmatic worship and human ignorance exist on this earth.

Let's take a look more around the globe

Religious dogma - i.e. belief that one limited parcel of land is holy - has caused innumerable human stampedes in various countries.

Actually it is regularly reported how crowd disasters are a recurring event in India, especially at religious gatherings and temples:
  • 2,421 people died in over 3,000 stampedes in the country  (Courtesy of Factly . inc between 2001 and 2014)
  • 79 percent of all stampedes in the country occur at places of worship. (Courtesy of International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (IJDRR))
Crowd disasters are a recurring event in India, especially at religious gatherings and temples. Based on data compiled by Factly.in, between 2001 and 2014, more than 2,421 people died in over 3,000 stampedes in the country. And a majority of them occurred at religious events. A paper published in the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (IJDRR) in 2013 notes that 79 percent of all stampedes in the country occur at places of worship. He wiped away the blackness of the fog of my mind

"Kuáshár kálo muche diye, hatáshár resh dúre sariye,
áshár prdiip háte niye, nishiithe se esechilo..."  - Prabhat Samgiita #1285

Purport:

He (that Divine Entity) graciously came in the night holding the lamp of hope in His hand. And He wiped away the blackness of the fog of my mind. Whatever little faint remnant of hopelessness was left in my heart, He removed. It is His grace.

That time His eyes were filled with love and affection towards me and His face was shining with spiritual effulgence - He looked so beautiful. After crossing the long, jagged, and tiring path, that unparalleled Parama Purusa came and stood on my doorstep.

That very night when that blissful Entity came the vast sky was covered with the clouds, and my mental abode was filled with longing for that Dearest One. By just thinking about Him, tears of love and bhakti were rolling down from my eyes. It is His krpa.

On that very rainy night, in the breeze the sweet fragrance of the night jasmine flowers was emanating all around. And the peacock was dancing by seeing the game of hide and seek between the clouds and the moon. That very beautiful, rainy night, He came and blessed me.

The dust of His feet was saturated with karuna. And by the touch of those particles, my dry mind became vibrated in His supreme love. He came that very rainy night at my doorstep. He is so gracious…

Vital point of pracara

Namaskar,

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Preach only satya. Whatever you have done with reasons thereof. Also, make it clear to them what you want to do and why you want to do.  The result of this highly useful (helpful) preaching is that the inferiority complex disappears from the mind of the common men. They are encouraged when they see that a common man like themselves is inspired with such a high ideal. The second result of this is as follows. The common result of this is as follows. The common people are not generally aware of your usefully high ideas. In every work, big or small, they cling to selfishness. So, learning everything pure and high through your easy and simple language they will co-operate with you, with a mind free from wrong notions. The third outcome of this is that they will be shorn off the wrong notions that may have crept into them by the propaganda made by the selfish persons with vested interests."

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Win over their heart by propagating satya but without abusing anyone. When, they will feel the ideal of satya and come to know of your untiring karma sa'dhana', naturally, they will abandon their wrong notions about you; they will even start respecting you."

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Even in private life when a person behaves with you badly or uses harsh words, don't behave with him in the same manner. You shall explain to him his duties gently. In case, anyone has a wrong impression, you shall show him the right path without scolding (abusing) him. Make it clear to him if possible with practical demonstration how harmful may be the effect of such habits. But always keep this in mind that in such cases your behavior must be like that of a friend, and never like that of an instructor. Your only object will be to get your advice accepted by him. the idea that he is fool and you are wise is not desirable in any party." (1)

Note: Here Baba is giving us invaluable guidelines for going pracara and bringing all onto the path of bliss.

1) At all times we should follow the code of satya - i. speaking the truth for universal welfare, never giving way to falsehood out of self-interest.

2) Those suffering from a superiority complex are unable to properly guide or teach others. For them, doing Ananda Marga pracar is basically impossible.

3) However, in the Supreme Command, Baba has allotted us the special duty "to bring all to the path of bliss" - to bring all to the divine path of Ananda Marga. So this is a very sacred task which our Guru has given. Indeed it is the greatest social duty of human life.

4) When Parama Purusa takes advent on this dusty earth then He does not waste His time in any type of material pursuit; rather, He is fully dedicated to the all-round progress and emancipation of human beings.

5) The conclusion is that the most virtuous aspect of human life is serving others. And the best service - the most lasting service - is doing dharma pracar. For this reason we should sincerely follow Baba's above guideline.

in Him,
Mayadhiisha

Intense circumstantial pressure needed to overcome capitalism

Prout philosophy states, "Though the humanistic approach works in some cases, in most instances it does not produce any result; and even where it does work, it takes a very long time. So, wherever necessary, capitalism must be forced to abandon its ferocious hunger by taking strong measures. But it cannot be assumed that even these measures will be completely successful, because those who appear to be under control due to fear of the law will adopt other ways to fulfil their desires. Black marketing, adulteration, etc., cannot be totally eradicated by threats or by arousing fear of the law. Thus, stronger measures will have to be taken; that is, tremendous circumstantial pressure will have to be created. To create this sort of circumstantial pressure, the application of force is absolutely necessary." (1)

We have come here for only a short time

Ananda Marga ideology states, "People come to this world for a short time for some fun and games, and then they go. So for human beings the earth is like a traveller's inn, where they will not stay for long. Or it might be compared to a railway waiting room, where passengers from different places come and sit together for a while. The moment the train whistle blows, they forget each other, pick up their bags, and set off for the train. They do not look to right or left. Parama Puruśa is that train, and this world is the waiting room." (1)

Know the fact - all are the kith and kin of one another - Ananda Vanii #58

“All the beings of this universe are the kith and kin of one another. No one is despicable. All are equally respectable and entitled to equal love and affection. No problem is to be ignored as an individual or group affair. Every problem is to be considered as the collective problem of universal humanity and is to be resolved collectively and resolved it must be. Let it be the vocal panorama of the newer world of today – the continuous musical notes behind the movement of Neohumanism.”

Note: The above is one of Baba’s original Ananda Vaniis. These original and true Ananda Vaniis are unique, eternal guidelines that stand as complete discourses in and of themselves. They are unlike Fake Ananda Vaniis which are fabricated by most of the groups - H, B etc.
