Children's Home Report #2: History of Home Girl Who Ended Up with Muslim Man

Fri, 12 Jul 2013 12:29:21

Baba

CHILDREN'S HOME REPORT-2:

HISTORY OF HOME GIRL WHO ENDED UP WITH MUSLIM MAN

Namaskar,
"All know that a few months back the situation was dire: In-charge Didi Ananda Dyotona was on the cusp of giving one of our home girls to the government orphanage – as has been done in the past with other home girls. So we know from first-hand experience that this yields an awful outcome..."
"And Didiji was directly disobeying Guru by her willingness to give our home girls to government orphanages where the girl would have ended up married to a Muslim man, as has been the case in the past. And this case – carried out around a few years ago by a different Didi - should be highlighted and brought to the fore. It is shocking that Didi Ananda Dyotona would even plan to take that same type of decision."

Our in-charge Didi leans towards giving our home girls to a government orphanage. She knows this was done in the past by a different Didi yet she herself tried this same tactic more recently. But such orphanages do not do justice with the girls. Most often they get selected by Muslim men who are looking for an additional wife. That is the common outcome. Indeed, the previous home girl that another Didi sent to a government orphanage is now the wife of a Muslim man and she has since given birth to three children. She is one of the many wives this Muslim man has.

In any way imaginable, these governmental shelters are looking to get these girls married. There is no concern for their dharmic growth or personal well-being. Just these girls should be married. And most often it happens with Muslim males. Because those Muslims follow the edict: Strength lies in numbers. So they aim to reproduce as much as possible with multiple wives.

One of the chief ways such Muslims gain more wives is by taking the girls from the government shelters. This is what happens. Because those government orphanages are anxious to get their girls married – to anyone. That way the orphanage is no longer responsible – neither financially nor otherwise. So marriages are arranged and the girls have no say in the matter and end up leading a life devoid of any education or training. Just they live as the subservient wife of one Muslim man, along with his many other wives.

Following this trend, our poor home girls are forced into eating meat, chopping and butchering live animals in the road, and other tamasik habits and activities. I know this to be true because there are other cases where our home girls ended up in this way – as noted above. Our home girl never got the opportunity to lead the life of a sadhaka as Didi failed to impart any type of proper moral or spiritual training. That is the main problem. So it is shocking that our in-charge Didi Ananda Dyotona would even plan to give any of our home girls to a government orphanage.

Remember, Baba’s stated approach is that home girls should be given maximum training and encouraged to become wholetime workers of AMPS. That is the standard way to proceed. In those cases where the home girl really does not want to become a WT, then she may proceed to lead sentient, Ananda Marga family life. There is no other option. That is Guru’s mandate.

GURU’S ORDER

GIRLS SHOULD BE TRAINED TO BECOME WT

Baba has specifically mandated that home girls are to be given love and affection and proper training to become dedicated wholetime workers. These girls are to be given all the guidelines so they can realise the greatness of spiritual life and serve society. This is their special dharma. That is Guru’s wish. First and foremost, home girls are to be raised in a way that they will naturally adopt WT life. They will be great sadhakas who give their all for society.

If however, any home girl truly does not wish to become a Wt, then it is Didi’s duty to arrange a proper marriage so the girl leads margii life.

In a recent case, the overall in-charge Didi directly and indirectly contravened Guru’s order. Indirectly in that she oversees and is responsible for all the childrens’ homes yet in these homes the girls are not given dharmic training – rather they are introduced to pseudo-culture. So that is one way Didi was going against Guru’s order.

And Didiji was directly disobeying Guru by her willingness to give our home girls to government orphanages where the girl would have ended up married to a Muslim man, as has been the case in the past. And this case – carried out around a few years ago by a different Didi - should be highlighted and brought to the fore. It is shocking that Didi Ananda Dyotona would even plan to take taking that same type of decision.

So neither is in-charge Didi ensuring that the girls are raised in a dharmic manner that will prepare and inspire them for WT life, nor was Didi watching to ensure that the girls are properly leading a dharmic way of life. Thus on multiple fronts Didi Ananda Dyotona is doing injustice with those girls and going against Guru’s order.

WT'S ARE DEDICATED TO SERVE OTHERS

"Be great by your sádhaná, by your service, by your sacrifice." (Ananda Vanii #20)

"Serve the world with the feeling of service. Render service in all the spheres of life – physical, psychic and spiritual." (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 1, The Three Factors for Spiritual Elevation)

CHILD SHOULD BE CARED FOR

"Every person must realize the duty which he owes direct to the babe in his family, and on which depends the developments of the child in all spheres. This duty may be demanded from every man by every child of the world. Hence, thinking in favour of family babes only will not suffice. Even if it were not possible for particular persons to discharge properly the duties towards each and every child of the world owing to crude worldly reasons, they must always be conscious of their duties towards children within their acquaintance. The oath taken on the occasion of Játakarma will reawaken the sense of that duty again and again. Any grown-up person or any father shall not forget his duty when he has once looked at the helpless face of the child. It does not end here. In pursuance of the mantra of Játakarma in Ánanda Márga, a child has not simply been regarded as a child only but also a manifestation of Brahma in the child. So, serving the child, shall be a part of Sádhaná (Brahma-Sádhaná) to him. The credit for his services to the child will not create pride in him. The same feeling will recur in mind when the child is bathed with water consecrated with the mantra. The persons taking part in the function will think anew that the child is once again being bathed with their blessings and that they must take parental responsibility of the child." (Táttvika Diipiká (Caturtha Parva), Jatakarma)

"You must remember that the newcomer who comes to your society for the first time is fraught with every human prospect, potentiality and possibility. Hence, it is useless to think what treasure he possesses and to what extent. Any question as to the superiority or inferiority in respect of wealth, caste, quality and beauty or education does not arise at all. You belong to a company of pilgrims. Why should you then allow anybody among you to starve or to lag behind? You shall not allow such a circumstances to creep up in any way, as it will mar the very charm of pilgrimage." (Táttvika Diipiká (Caturtha Parva), Jatakarma)

WHOLETIMER / AVADHUTIKA CONDUCT RULES

Here are some of the Wt rules of conduct that Didis are supposed to follow.

- “One should leave all sorts of luxuries.” (37 Wholetime Workers Rules, pt #6)

- “One should make others good by becoming an ideal person.” (37 Wholetime Workers Rules, pt #22)

These are WT rules for Didis, plus there are so many more codes of conduct our WT Didis must adhere to in their individual life as well as being caretakers of home girls.

Children's Home Report #1: About Giving Our Home Girls to Govt Orphanage

Wed, 10 Jul 2013 14:33:56

Baba

Note: For the comfort and ease of all, it has to be admitted that at present there are three types of people: (a) Those fully in slumber, (b) those who are half-asleep, and (c) those who are 100% alert and awake. What follows is a factual, verifiable account; it is neither rumour nor hearsay. The intent is to clean the organisation. We do not want the misdeeds of certain Wts to be reported in major leading newspapers of that area. That will be very bad. If you feel you are in group “A” (i.e. in full slumber and want to remain like that) then please do not read the below letter. Rather, if you want to remain in slumber and not awaken then just delete this email.

CHILDREN'S HOME REPORT - 1:

ABOUT GIVING OUR HOME GIRLS TO GOVERNMENT ORPHANAGE

Namaskar,
All know that a few months back the situation was dire: In-charge Didi Ananda Dyotona was on the cusp of giving one of our home girls to the government orphanage – as has been done in the past with other home girls. So we know from first-hand experience that this yields an awful outcome.

It is a relief to report that the situation has since cooled off and we are in a holding pattern. We seem to be in some type of probationary period.

The home girl is safe and still in our care – for the time being anyway. In what seems to be a temporary move, after much public outcry, Didiji positioned the girl in Rewa (MP), under the care of another Didi.

From here forward we will have to monitor the situation and see what happens. If tension mounts where the in-charge Didi again tries to deposit our home girl in the government orphanage, then we will be ready to raise the voice and intercede.

Following are more news and updates about our Ananda Marga children’s homes as well as a report about what happened to the last children’s home girl that was sent to a government orphanage.

HOW PSEUDO-CULTURE HAS INVADED OUR CHILDREN'S HOMES

Tragically in some of our own Children’s Homes, pseudo-culture values are in vogue as the girls learn all kinds of pop songs and dances from the TV and radio etc. They long for that filmy way of life. This is what happens when young impressionable minds are subjected to the brunt of materialism and not given any scope for moral training and spiritual life.

Sadly, a few Didis have utterly failed those children in this regard by not instilling within them any higher values. After all, according to Baba’s system, that is the way our children’s homes are to be run. Those girls are to be given love and affection as well as all kinds of dharmic teachings: Sadhana, kiirtan, spiritual and moral training, 16 points, and more. The aim first and foremost is for those children to dedicate their lives for suffering humanity and become wholetime workers. In the event that this does not happen, then those girls should marry and lead a margii life.

So it is absolute abhorrent that a few didis have completely drifted from Baba’s ideals and guidelines and instead exposed these young girls to the ills of sensual materialism. The end result is that the girls get hooked to pseudo-culture. This is the very real situation that we are facing these days – sadly enough. Such didis should be taken to task and face punishment as in many cases they have literally ruined the lives of those young girls. It is criminal how those didis have misled those innocent young girls. Such didis should be held responsible and face inquiry from a tribunal etc. Such incidents must not be taken lightly.

GURU’S ORDER

GIRLS SHOULD BE TRAINED TO BECOME WT

As noted above, Baba has specifically mandated that home girls are to be given love and affection and proper training to become dedicated wholetime workers.

WHOLETIMER / AVADHUTIKA CONDUCT RULES

Here are some of the Wt rules of conduct that Didis are supposed to follow.

- “One should leave all sorts of luxuries.” (37 Wholetime Worker Rules, pt #6)

- “One should make others good by becoming an ideal person.” (37 Wholetime Worker Rules, pt #22)

These are WT rules for Didis, plus there are so many more codes of conduct our WT Didis must adhere to in their individual life as well as being caretakers of home girls.

MUST NOT EXPOSE HOME GIRLS TO DEGRADING PSEUDO-CULTURE

Here Baba gives the warning about the noxious, degrading, and vulgar ways of pseudo-culture.

"“ra, ra, ra – cha, cha, cha,”...Let us sing and dance our way to hell,”" (MVNS)

"Seduced by the bestial instincts hidden in the secret recesses of their minds, people surrender to base propensities. But improvements in education and the social environment can help to bring this beast under control and make it obey their commands. To achieve this the first thing people have to do is to wage war against their animal propensities, which is no easy task. So cunning exploiters, by encouraging animality, are able to bring people under their sway."
"The cinema industry suffers from this malady. This industry is controlled by a handful of business persons who make films according to popular taste and demand. While ordinary people naturally run after those films which in their ideas, language or visual images cater to their base propensities, such ideas, language or images instantly distort the ideals of the idealist beyond recognition."
(Human Society - 1, Education)

In today's capitalistic society, in the name of "freedom of expression" all kinds of debased and vulgar things are done. Advertisements are littered with images of half-naked, even fully naked females. Day by day this vulgarity is increasing and is pervasive across television, the film industry, videos etc. Greedy capitalists abuse the right of "freedom of expression" by catering to one's beastly propensities. They purchase artists to carry out this heinous activity in profession ways thereby alluring innocent people. Youths are particularly susceptible to this degrading trap. Politicians and judges pay a blind eye and deaf ear to these escapeades and in result the common people get caught in this net.

Our WT Didis are supposed to safely navigate our home girls through this mess of degrading pseudo-culture but instead they encourage it by importing it into the children's home. That is the tragedy that is utterly unforgivable. Because in this way those innocent and tender home girls become veritable pawns of pop culture. This tragic outcome directly contravenes Guru's guideline.

SUCH DIDIS NEGLECT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY

AND THE CHILDREN SUFFER

Our Wt Didis are supposed to act as the loving caretakers of these home girls. These innocent youths have no parents of their own and thus are fully dependent upon Didi. Yet, under Didi's care they are led astray. Baba has issued a stern warning about this.

“If parents fail to carry out their basic duties, I am compelled to say that, although they live in society, they are guilty of encouraging an antisocial mentality. By encouraging their children to develop a criminal psychology, they give unnecessary trouble to the police. The main point is this: for want of a little care, children are deprived of the opportunity to become complete human beings, even though they have a human structure. (Human Society Part 1, Education)

MUST PROTECT AND ENSURE PROPER DEVELOPMENT

OF THOSE HOME GIRLS

Here below Baba guides us that in-charge Didis at our children's homes are to those kids towards the path of dharma, not into the dark cloud of materialism.

"A mind engaged in degenerating thought invites negative microvita. Good company, good books, good literature, good songs, kiirtanas (devotional chanting) elevate the mind and the mind becomes sanctified." (MVNS)

"Can those whose necks and backs are crushed under the weight of pseudo-culture, be expected to hold their heads high in any sphere of life? Hence it is the bounden duty of every rational person to save innocent people from pseudo-culture." (Liberation of Intellect - Neo-Humanism: Disc 7)

Problem In Antaryamii Book

Thu, 27 Jun 2013 15:29:39 -0400

Baba

== PROBLEM IN ANTARYAMII BOOK ==

Namaskar,
Any book about Baba and Ananda Marga must reflect Baba's Personality and His divine teachings accurately - otherwise that publication is going against its very aim. Every disciple of Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji understands the importance of this.

Not only that, every lay person will agree that a book about a particular person or movement must properly depict the topic, otherwise that publication is undermining its own purpose.

In this regard, no point is unimportant; from A to Z, a book should be factually correct and lead the reader towards proper understanding. Failing that, the writer misrepresents the very subject they are trying to capture. (From posting: "Be Aware About Falsehood in Story Book", 25/6/13)

The overall theme expressed above is vital for keeping a healthy Ananda Marga society. If our very own publications do not pointedly represent Guru's teachings, then step by step we will literally dilute the overall ideological integrity of our Ananda Marga.

That is why we must be cent-per-cent vigilant on this matter - on each and every aspect of Guru's teachings. Whatever topic is being written about should accurately reflect His teachings. Every article, essay, chapter, and book must be done in a responsible and precise manner. Unfortunately, to date, this has not always been the case. Numerous publications have not been up to the requisite standard.

Here following is a critical philosophical-cum-historical error that was published in one acarya's book.

FALSE CLAIM:

YUDHISTHIRA WAS THE FIRST TO TEACH SADHANA ON A PARTICULAR CAKRA

In one book, the writer claims that Yudhisthira, the eldest Pandava brother, was the first person to do sadhana on a particular cakra. But that is not correct.

In His teachings, Baba guides us that Yudhisthira was the first person do do pranayama on a particular point. That is what is known as Yudhisthira vidya. Sadhana or meditation had been done on `a specific point or cakra long before Yudhisthira's coming on this earth. So the writer got this matter wrong, unfortunately.

What Yudhisthira did pioneer, however, was the practice of doing pranayama on a particular point. That is what Baba states in the following teachings.

"When doing práńáyáma one will have to concentrate one’s mind on a certain point. This is a Tantric method; when the mind is concentrated on a point it gets confined to a particular space. This method, confining the mind to a certain space, is called Yudhiśt́hira Vidyá in yoga shástra. That is, this was invented by the first Páńd́ava brother, Yudhiśt́hira." (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 11, The Psychology behind the Origin of Tantric Gods and Goddesses)

"There are two main types of práńáyáma: hat́ha yaogika práńáyáma and Yudhiśt́hira práńáyáma. When práńáyáma is done without fixing the mind on a particular point of concentration, and without imbibing Cosmic ideation, it is called hat́ha yaogika práńáyáma. But when práńáyáma is performed with the mind fixed at a particular point along with Cosmic ideation, it is called Yudhiśt́hira práńáyáma. [The eldest Pandava, Yudhisthira, was the first person to popularize práńáyáma according to this method.]" (Yoga Psychology, Questions and Answers on Meditation #13)

So the claim that Yudhisthira was the first to do meditation on a particular point is not correct. Rather he was the first to do pranayama on a particular point.

This matter should be noted so when Shrii Diip Narayanji's book - "Baba Antarya'mii" (Hindi) - is republished it contains the correct information.

SUMMARY

As Ananda Margiis we must be keenly aware to ensure that every aspect of Guru's teachings is explained very precisely in our own publications. That is a chief duty. To maintain the integrity of Guru's teachings and not let them get watered down by books written by disciples. In that past, all the major traditions suffered in this way. The preceptor gave teachings and guidelines and the followers lost track of and wrongly presented / interpreted those guidelines. We must not let history repeat itself. About this, we should work together and be hyper-aware about what gets printed by Dadas etc in the name of or under the banner of Guru Shrii Shrii Anandaamurti ji.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Manoranjain

RE: COMMENTS ON BHA'SKARA'NANDJI'S

OUTLANDISH PROCLAMATIONS

Namaskar,
The letter directly below is the unfortunate example of how simple people are indoctrinated into the dogma of Bangalisation by my very own Kolkata people. Sadly, the person  - Shrii Maitiji - who posted the below comment lost his common sense.

That is the tragic outcome when some of my own Bengali Wts indoctrinate people into their narrow fold. In that case, the person's (i.e. victim's) brain goes missing. Under such conditions, how can one even think that unity will be achieved. It cannot when the mind is wrought in group agendas like Bangalisation.

The person who commented below is a classic stooge - he cannot think that what he is saying is wrong. He cannot conceive of the idea that Baba's spoken voice - whether in English, Hindi, or some other language - stands as the original language of that particular discourse. Our Bengali / Bangla language is not the default "original language" for every Baba discourse. That is not the correct approach.

But when a person's mind has been wholly indoctrinated into a narrow-minded sentiment, then they cannot realise nor understand common-sense truths. All in all, it is quite deplorable that my Bengali people are doing like this to unsuspecting persons. On this point, I cannot stand by my Bengali wholetimers & supporters.

This is the time to support universalism and neo-humanism, not any myopic path like our Bangalisation.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Pratima Basu

Dear Narayan Dada,
In reference to Bhaskaranandaji's statement on Bengal or Bengali,
every point is correct, whether someone can digest it or not.
So without misguiding or trying to pollute margii's mind please do something positive.
Apart from negative prachar there are so many things to do. Please try to motivate
yourself in a positive way.

====== FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO KNOW MORE - BELOW IS A SYNOPSIS AND EXCERPTS OF THE VARIOUS OUTLANDISH CLAIMS MADE BY DADA BHA'SKARA'NANDA FROM PRIOR LETTERS =====

Dada Bha'skara'nandji has proclaimed:

- Baba favoured Bengal over others.

- Bengal is very advanced and ahead of the rest of the world in all spheres - what Bengal thinks and does, the rest of the world follows.

- Regardless of the language Baba originally spoke in delivering His discourse, Bengali should always be treated as the original. Dadaji claims Baba gave this order.

- Baba favours Bengal so I joined B group to please Him.

- Every published discourse should be prefaced with this statement: "Translated from the Original Bengali."

So these are the claims that Dada Bha'skara'nandji has made.

Baba

ALL BABA’S BOOKS SHOULD BE BASED ON ”ORIGINAL BENGALI”

NOT ENGLISH ETC.– BHA’SKARA’NANDAJI – PART D:

"DADAJI'S TWO FALSE CLAIMS"

Dada Bhaskarananda began advocating why all Baba's discourses should be based on the so-called original Bengali. Here the term so-called is employed because we all know Baba delivered discourses in so many languages including Hindi and English.

Ac Bhaskarananda told: "Maniis'a'nanda opposed having "Translated from original Bengali" printed on the title page of each book. But you know that Ba'ba' has formulated so many rules & regulations in Publication Department. Accordingly, it is customary to translate the original discourse into Bengali & then to Hindi / English."

That means even if Baba has delivered the discourse originally in Hindi, then that Hindi should be translated into Bengali, which then becomes the new master or "original." Then using the Bengali as the new source text, the discourse should be translated from Bengali to English and then into other languages. So even though it is a Hindi discourse, Bengali should get pride of place and on the inside of the book it should be stated, "Translated from the original Bengali."

Such was Dada Bhaskaranandji's claim.

Story: Khagen's Ruination By Avidya Tantra

The following is the full account from Shabda Cayanika of the depraved sadhaka Khagen who fell prey to the allurement of avidya tantra and occcult powers. Here below Baba is narrating the story.

I kept on going and going and going. The palásh forest was not as close as I thought it had been from a distance. After walking for a while, I came to a halt at one spot. To my left was a somewhat deep ditch where a dog had fallen in. He was still barking faintly in between pauses. I realized that this middle-aged creature had come to the last limits of his short life.

What an awful thing! Who could have done such a cruel deed? The dog showed no sign of any injury, that is, he hadn’t been attacked by any animal. If a tiger had attacked it would have seized him or her by the throat or the neck. That is the way that felines attack, from the tigers of the Sundarban jungle to the domesticated housecat. Even a common cat catches rats and mice in that way. A wolf would have attacked the stomach or the back which is how canines attack, from the lion to the fox. When kakt́esiyás creatures attack, however, they attack from the tail end. Their nature is to attack other animals from behind and swing and shake them about.

The dog appeared completely uninjured. From looking at him, it appeared as if some unnatural means had been used to arrest his blood circulation and bring him seemingly to the point of death. Almost as if someone was rapidly squeezing the last drop of its life’s essence. After a few minutes navel-breathing began. His dog-life did not have long to go. There was no water nearby. If it had been rainy season then some water could have been found in puddles and holes, but it was now the end of the cold season and water was getting scarce. There was none to be found anywhere. Alas, I thought, if I could just put a few drops of water in his mouth, his throat would not be dry during his last moments.

The dog looked at me with sorrowful eyes. Suddenly my eyes fell on a hillock directly across from the ditch, what we call d́uḿri in Rarhi Bengali. In Rarhi Bengali we call a large mountain páháŕ, a smaller, medium-sized mountain páháŕii, a smaller hill d́uḿri, still smaller t́ilá, and even smaller d́hibi. When I looked closely, I could see a motionless, imposing naked human figure.

I started moving slowly in his direction. After I had gone a little ways I noticed that he was sitting absorbed in meditation in the siddhásana posture, completely motionless. He seemed to be an extension of the hill itself. The only difference between the two was that the hill was reddish yellow and the human figure was bright and fair-complexioned. I crossed a vaenci-shiyákul thicket, approached very close to him and saw a Tantric sadhaka sitting in a bhaeravii cakra yantra. My curiosity was aroused. I went even closer, close enough to touch him, and took a good look. What did I see, to my amazement, but someone well-known to me, Khagen… Khagendranath Ghosh.

I had known Khagen since I was a child. His parents lived in Chakradharpur and he used to attend school in my town. After he finished his studies he left that area. I had heard from his father that the two of us were born on the same day. I was born most likely under the constellation of Vishákhá and he was born a few hours later, most likely under the constellation of Anurádhá. He was one class behind me in school.

There was a hereditary inclination towards spiritual practices in his family. His grandfather, father and uncles all followed the path of sádhaná. I remembered many years before, when he was studying in standard nine, and he had asked me what the eight occult powers were and what special practices existed by which one could attain them. I explained to him as much as I knew at the time and pointed out that these were dangerous things and that it was better not to tread that path.

Kśurasya dhárá nishitá duratyayá durgaḿ pathastat kavayo vadanti.

[The path is as sharp as a razor’s edge, difficult to tread. It is an intractable path. So realized persons say.]

Looking at his face back then I thought that he seemed to be devising a plan. I explained even more carefully the dangers associated with it and counselled him to shun that path. Sádhaná should be done only for the attainment of Parama Puruśa, not for any second thing. He asked me how it would be if he did the sádhaná for attaining Parama Puruśa along with the sádhaná for attaining the eight occult powers.

I told him: “Do you know how it would be? It would be just like eating bitter curry with sweet rice.” He fell silent.

Now I understood what kind of plans he had been hatching deep inside. I could see with my own eyes the fruits of his plans.

Khagen was totally absorbed, like a tree immersed in meditation. He didn’t blink at all or move even a finger or a toe so I kept quiet for some time and remained standing there, not disturbing him. At one point, I looked over at the dog and saw that he had died. His tormented eyes seemed to be looking in my direction, as if they were saying: “I am innocent, without fault. Why should a person have removed me from the earth in this way without any reason? Will you not redress this?”

I looked again at Khagen and saw his fair-complexioned body gradually start turning red. It stayed that way for a short time and then slowly turned jet-black. I watched for some time longer until he gradually turned pale, anaemic. Then I touched his body; it was as cold as ice and harder than iron. A human corpse will turn cold but it never becomes that hard. I was considering what to do or not to do, and then I remembered that in such cases the body should not be cremated for eighteen hours; one must wait. If it didn’t return to a normal state within eighteen hours then one could begin cremating. I thought about returning to town and letting someone know what had happened and then returning, but I realized that it would take at least two hours to go and come and in the meantime some wild animal might come and eat him, thinking him to be dead. Finally I decided to keep watch over the body throughout the night and then return to town in the morning to let people know. There would be little possibility of a wild animal showing up there during daylight hours. I remained standing there, looking now at the unfortunate dog and now at Khagen.

Suddenly I saw a point of light exit from Khagen’s third eye and enter into the third eye of the dog. Then an even more amazing thing happened. Could it really be? The dog’s tail started to move slowly two or three times. Then again quiet. As it had been.

A short while later, the dog’s tail again started to move slowly back and forth, and some barks came from his mouth. What an amazing sight! Then again everything was quiet, silent, still, not even a quiver.

Again, moments later, the dog’s tail started to move. From its mouth came a few soft barks. This time the dog seemed to be trying to stand up. It rose to its feet then and fell down again. Then it was na yayao na tasthao [“it remained in the same condition”]. Again the dog’s tail moved a few times and again it barked a little. This time it stood up, looked here and there, and then started climbing the hill.

It approached us and then started circling around Khagen like a machine with someone at the controls, like an ox with blinders tracing fixed circles around the oil-mill. The dog didn’t enter the bhaeravii cakra, but stuck close to its outer edge as it circled around. It was easy to understand what a dreadful state it was in; it had no fear, no thought, perhaps not even a sense of existence. It was a crude flesh-and-bone machine, a mindless, energy-driven body. And in whose hands was the switch for turning on the energy that drove him? You could not say that it was living because behind it there was no independent unit mind at work – it was acting at the urge of some other entity’s mind.

I understood that this was all Khagen’s affair. He had mastered the skill to kill an innocent creature and drive its body. It made no difference whether the dog was alive or not because it didn’t have any independent individual existence. Its existence was actually just like that of a puppet.

I couldn’t bear it any longer. Such misuse of the human being’s hidden internal powers would not help to elevate the human race. Rather it would bog down one’s hands and feet in the quagmire of power and bring stagnancy into one’s forward movement.

I grabbed a fistful of hair and slapped him in the face; his body fell over, just like a large, precariously balanced rock topples at the slightest touch. His body was not a living body; it was like a huge puppet carved out of a piece of hard iron. As Khagen’s body fell from its seat another astonishing thing occurred. A point of light exited from the third eye of the dog and entered into Khagen’s third eye. The dog uttered a cry and collapsed on top of a rock. It was dead once again.

I looked over at Khagen and saw him slowly trying to open his eyes. He looked at me and started to cry. Then with a weak voice he whispered: “I have committed a great injustice, a great injustice. I didn’t listen to you. Please forgive me.”

I stretched out a hand and pulled him up. “You were studying in high school then,” I said. “I told you these things were deadly, that this was not a path to tread. Why didn’t you listen to me?”

He started sobbing and said: “I have done wrong, very wrong. Please forgive me.”

Khagen wasn’t able to stand properly. His vocal cords were also not functioning properly. I helped him to put his clothes on. At first I had to use my arms to help him, but after a little while he told me that he could walk by himself.

He started walking by my side but very slowly. I did not scold him any more along the way because he was not in a normal state. He was somewhere halfway between life and death. When I got to the edge of the muddy pond where I had been sitting, I saw that some black figure was standing beside the pigeon-pea field right behind me. His body was not luminous but rather fashioned from a black shadow. Lest Khagen be disturbed or feel worried, I didn’t say anything. I pressed his elbow and gently made him sit down. “Take some rest now,” I said, “then we’ll go on some more.”

He started crying and said: “I have committed such a great sin, yet you still love me so much. I disobeyed you, yet you still don’t hate me.”

“That may be so,” I said, “but you’re my childhood friend. Don’t forget that.”

The black shadow figure by the side of the pigeon-pea field gradually started becoming pointed like a needle and a blue light came out from that needle-like portion. I realized that Khagen might perhaps be creating another disturbance here.

“Are you practising márańa tantra [death-tantra] while you’re sitting there,” I asked. “And was that the Avidyá Tantra practice for entering another body that you were doing while sitting on the hill?”

“Yes,” he said, sobbing. Then he cried out: “Forgive me. Help me to forget all these things.”

“I also want that,” I replied. “Come on, let us return to town.” We continued walking side by side. I kept hold of his left elbow with my right hand and pulled him along in a fashion. Glancing behind, I noticed a point of light following us. Since I was looking at the point of light, Khagen also glanced in that direction. He shivered and said: “That dog, again that dog, again that dog is chasing me.”

“Wipe that dog out of your mind,” I said. “Repeat your Iśt́a mantra.”

“I am trying,” he said. “But I am not able to.”

“Think of me for a little bit,” I said. “Think that I am pulling you along by the hand. Then, while thinking of me, fix your mind at your Iśt́a cakra. Try it. Then you’ll be able to do it.”

I took a few steps forward and saw that the point of light had disappeared into the void. Khagen cried out again, sobbing, and said: “I have left that path, I have left that path. I don’t ever want to return to it again.”

A few years later I was once again sitting in that same place at the dead of night bathed in moonlight. With the change in time comes a change in place and person as well. And so it was, though it wasn’t a great change. I remembered the incident of Khagen and the dog on that full-moon night in Phalgun. Neither of the two was present.

During the day I asked the local villagers for news about Khagen. “Yes, yes,” they said. “Sometimes we see a half-mad fellow wandering the jungle paths at the edge of the hills. He often goes around barking as if he thought he was a dog. Whenever he sees anyone with glasses he rushes after them, grabs them and says: ‘Prabhat, you have come. I have left that path, I have left that path, bark, bark, I have left that path, but that dog won’t leave me alone. Whenever I want to meditate or to repeat my Iśt́a mantra that dog comes into my mind and starts barking mercilessly. What can I do, tell me! It would be better to die.’”

BABA
Namaskara.
You made an interesting observation about Dadaji Bhaskarananda which how most all human beings behave. In modern psychology, there is a term called "projection."
Projection is a subconscious manner that people do by putting forth how they think or feel if they were in a particular situation.  They say what they would say and attribute it to another person who is in that very same situation had they been in it for themselves.
Human beings do this because they are affected by their own thoughts and experiences throughout life and have become part of their subconscious minds; i.e., samskaras influence them and play a part of this. This is a normal occurrence. It takes a conscious person, an individual with a greater conscious awareness of oneself to make sure one does not project his own way of thinking or feeling onto another being.
This is a highly developed state that takes effort to attain; not many people have this ability. This capacity of consciousness waxes and wanes, too. Spiritual practices keep one more conscious of one's own biases and lack of practice creates a lack of awareness.
Let us all learn from this type of error so we don't go down the same road. By Baba's Grace, let us practice our sadhana regularly and attune our minds to Parama Purusa  so we may be guided by Him through our Superconscious mind and not by our mundane experiences stored in our subconscious mind  from throughout of lives.
This has been my experience and observation as I continue on the path of perfection to realize Him and do His Will.
Baba Nam Kevalam

Namaskar,
This presentation reminds me of George Orwells book, Animal Farm. To quote the punch line , "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others."
As Ananda Margiis we should not base our thinking on what this dada heard from Baba or on this persons dream or whatever. We should be guided by Baba's written word.
Neo-humanism suggests clearly that we should not be overwhelmed by narrow sentiment including, in this case, geo-sentiment or language sentiment. Baba belongs to all and sundry.
The persons propagating such narrow ideas are nothing but pseudo-intellectuals who have little or no understanding about Baba's sublime ideology.
My input, in pointing out the defective understanding of some Kolkota loyalists, should not be construed that I am in any way supporting the the Ranchi faction which I understand is equally guilty of narrowness.

== RE: MEETING WITH DADA BHA'SKARA'NANDA ==

~ Part B ~

Editor's Note: The following is a continuation of the account by Shrii Narayan Panda - Bhukti Pradhan, Vishakapatnam (Orissa, India). A link to the first letter is appended below.

STORY: PART 2

Let's pick up the story where we left off. As you recall Dada Bhaskarananda's last words were: "Ba'ba' gave Proutist Bengal because He wanted that Prout should first be established in Bengal and then in other areas."

Then Dada went on to say, "What Bengal thinks today, India & others think tomorrow. So PROUT will be established in Bengal first and then it will be spread to other areas."

He then told, "After all, Ba'ba' supported Bengal so much. Shabda Cayanika was given in Bengali, Baba lived in Bengal after 1980 when the organisation was big, Prabhat Samgiita was given in Bengali."

Such were the justifications given by Dadaji for why he joined B group.

RESPONSE #2:

AFFECTED BY DOGMA OF BANGALISATION

Here we have to remember that when anyone's mind is affected by any narrow sentiment like Bangalistan or Bangalisation etc, then they paint the whole world in that colour.

To set the record straight it should be understood that Shabda Cayanika is not about the Bengali language. We all know that Shabda Cayanika is Baba's special series of topics centered around Sanskrit grammar. This is the well-known fact. In His Shabda Cayaniks discourses, Baba is purely focused on the development and explanation of the Sanskrit language.

Certain fanatical Bengalis often proclaim: "Shabda Cayanika is a series devoted to the linguistics and philology of the Bengali language". And verily, Dada Bhaskaranandji joins them and makes this same assertion.

Yet such a proclamation could not be further from the truth. In His Shabda Cayanika series, Baba is making a careful and precise elaboration of the Sanskrit language, not Bengali. Only because Sanskrit has no script of its own was it first printed in Bengali - but the subject matter is that of the Sanskrit language. And anyone who has even an ounce of familiarity with these discourses knows this to be the case.

Indeed one earnest and honest Dada active in publications - Ac Acyutanandji Avt - wrote and published the following stating that Shabda Cayanika addresses Sanskrit grammar.

"Guru in the Vedic language is derived gur + un; in later Sanskrit as gu + ru. The contents of this chapter consists of an elaboration on the word Gurusakásha. The author's discourse on that day entailed linguistic discussion of a number of Sanskrit terms; the discussion of each term became an entry in the author's linguistic encyclopedia Shabda Cayaniká (“Collection of Words”). –Eds." (1)

Clearly then, publications Dada Acyutanandji wholly accepts that Shabda Cayanika is about Sanskrit grammar.

In response, some radical and fanatical Bengalis may in future try to force Dada Acyutanandji to retract his statement. Nonetheless, the fact stands; Shabda Cayanika is about the Sanskrit language, not Bengali. So those who support the truth should keep this quote in their records etc.

So that is one point. Next we should consider this:

The majority of the discourses given by Baba were in Hindi. Regarding the total number of discourses: 75% are in Hindi and 25% in other languages including Bangla; i.e. in terms of hours and time. This is a well-researched fact - not hearsay. Plus, Baba spent most of His physical life in Hindi speaking areas.

About Prabhat Samgiita, by giving these songs primarily in Bengali, Baba is teaching devotees to write songs in their own mother tongue. It is not about which language is great and which is not great. That is not Baba's message. Rather in 1984 DMC, Baba explained that human beings may know 1, 2, 4, or even 10 languages, but all languages are the language of Parama Purusa. Baba then told that every sadhaka should try and learn more languages - as many as they can. So there is no question of any language like Bengali being better than any other language.

Baba put forth this same idea in this below discourse.

Prout philosophy states, "All languages must be given equal respect. One should remember that all languages are the languages of Parama Puruśa. I may master perhaps one, two, three or maybe 100 or 300 of these languages, but it does not mean that the languages I do not know are not the languages of Parama Puruśa. Hence, it is absurd to divide humanity on the basis of language." (2)

And top of all, Baba Himself is a Supreme Neo-Humanist. There is no question of Baba being partial to Bengal or liking Bengal more. To make such an erroneous claim is to undermine Baba's grand stature. No true bhakta can think in this way.

This type of narrow-mindedness undermines Baba's personality. Any person claiming as such is low-minded and lowly. With their narrow outlook, they contravene Baba's magnanimity. They are trying to prove Baba as being partial as if He supported Bangla more than any language. Such a misguided approach puts forth the notion that Baba was externally preaching universality but internally preaching Bangalisation. This is a very, very hurtful insinuation.

All I can say about this is that when dogs come in contact with human beings then those animals think that those humans are great animals. So when a dog sees its master that dog thinks that its master is a great animal. They cannot think more than that.

Similarly when ordinary humans come in contact with a highly elevated sadhaka, they cannot fathom their greatess. And even more so when an ordinary person comes in contact with Taraka Brahmna, then they cannot conceive of the brilliance of Taraka Brahma.

So just as dogs cannot understand its master's greatness, similarly some people cannot fathom the magnanimity of Mahasambhuti. In that way, such supporters of groupism think Parama Purusa Baba also lends His support.

The overall notion is that When anyone is himself suffering from narrow-mindedness, then they think that Baba also supports that view. They think, "I blindly support Amara Bengali samaj over other samajas, then Baba also supports Amara Bengali samaja over other samajas." Such is their thought-process.

In their daily life, they talk about this among themselves and propagate this among like-minded people, but rationally-minded persons will not give way to this defective mindset.

Suffice to say that only those prone to groupism will try to justify their dogmatic outlook by tainting Guru's teachings in this way. No neo-humanistic margii or worker can think in that negative manner.

To be continued in Part C.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Narayan Panda

Call to Rescue the Home Girl #1

Date: 28 May 2013 11:12:49 -0000

Baba

Note: For the comfort and ease of all, it has to be admitted that at present there are three types of Ananda Margiis: (a) Those fully in slumber, (b) those who are half-asleep, and (c) those who are 100% alert and awake. What follows is a factual, verifiable account; it is neither rumour nor hearsay. The intent is to clean the organisation. We do not want the misdeeds of certain Wts to be reported in major leading newspapers of that area. That will be very bad. If you feel you are in group "A" (i.e. in full slumber) then please do not read the below letter.

== CALL TO RESCUE THE HOME GIRL #1 ==

Namaskar,
The situation is dire. One of our own home girls is about to be handed over to a government orphanage. This is against the girl's desire as she wishes to remain in our Ananda Marga children's home. If she is deposited in the orphanage, she will most probably end up married with a Muslim man; she will become his 6th or 7th wife etc and lead a life of degradation and neglect. We must not allow the in-charge Didiji to follow through with her plan of depositing our home girl in this governmental orphanage.

No one should think this is a false alarm, because in the recent past this same Didi has handed over our home girls to government orphanages. In one case, the home girl was given to an orphanage and soon thereafter selected by a Muslim man for marriage. So this is a grave matter.

For more details about the current situation and past ordeals, read below and review our call to action.

SYSTEMIC PROBLEM IN OUR CHILDREN'S HOMES

Tragically in some of our own Children's Homes, pseudo-culture values are in vogue as the girls learn all kinds of pop songs and dances from the TV and radio etc. They long for that filmy way of life. This is what happens when young impressionable minds are subjected to the brunt of materialism and not given any scope for moral training and spiritual life.

Sadly, a few Didis have utterly failed those children in this regard by not instilling within them any higher values. After all, according to Baba's system, that is the way our children's homes are to be run.

So it is absolute abhorrent that a few didis have completely drifted from Baba's ideals and guidelines and instead exposed these young girls to the ills of sensual materialism. The end result is that the girls get hooked to pseudo-culture. This is the very real situation that we are facing these days - sadly enough. Such didis should be taken to task and face punishment as in many cases they have literally ruined the lives of those young girls. It is criminal how those didis have misled those innocent young girls. Such didis should be held responsible and face inquiry from a tribunal etc. Such incidents must not be taken lightly.

Certainly though, not all Didis fall in this way; some have created excellent children's homes. Those didis are to be held in high regard and given scope to train and teach others how to create a loving, dharmic environment in our Ananda Marga children's homes.

However, there remain a number of problem scenarios where Didis run their children's home like a pseudo-culture factory and fail to instill any higher values in those innocent girls. Many say this happens because such Didis themselves long to lead a life of material enjoyment; they do not want to live as a sannyasi. They wish for something else; and, in result, make pseudo-culture the main item in the chilren's home. Devoid of love and affection and exposed to lowly values, naturally those innocent youths are drawn in the wrong direction. But it is not their fault. All blame lands squarely on the shoulders of those Didis who fail to impart an inkling of spiritual and moral guidance. This is the underlying cause of why one of our girls is about to be placed in a governmental orphanage.

FINAL CALL

Please come forward and voice your concern about this most serious situation. Didi Ananda Dyotona must not be allowed to give the child to the government shelter. The situation is urgent as any day Didiji will hand over the girl. That is the critical situation right now. And over the longer-term, intervention methods are needed to raise the standard of our children's homes.

Here following are some important and relevant teachings given by Sadguru Baba.

HOW GUARDIANS INSTILL NEGATIVE VALUES

Here are some of Baba's key teachings on this topic:

"When the parents are about to go on a trip or go to a show, or when they are invited to a pleasant function or a social outing, the children may start whining or nattering to accompany them. At such times many parents tell lies without a qualm; somehow they dupe their children and leave. When the children realize what has happened, they also learn to tell lies; and to hide their intentions or their actions from their parents, they gradually start lying more and more."
"Parents deceive their children in many ways. By calling sweet things bitter and pleasant things unpleasant, they prevent their children from enjoying them. But by disregarding parental injunctions and prying inquisitively, as is the wont of human nature, children discover the truth. Then they realize that their parents have been deceiving them. As a result they start deceiving not only their parents, but their friends and classmates as well. So it is abundantly clear that children are taught the first lessons in the arts of lying and deception by their own parents at home."
"In a family it is natural that differences of opinion will arise among the adults; when they do, the adults should reconcile their differences considering each other's opinions. Unfortunately they often lack the requisite mental make-up to reach an amicable agreement – each tries to convince everybody else of his or her viewpoint without caring about the opinions of others. The result is an outburst of unreasonable obstinacy – the adults lose all self-control and behave in a gross and vulgar manner. The effect on the minds of the children is disastrous. Children thus learn obstinacy from their elders. If the mother or those with whom the children spend most of their time is obstinate, the neglected children will, in most cases, become noticeably obstinate, and they will have to carry this psychic ailment around with them for a long time. If, on the other hand, as is sometimes the case, the wishes and desires (if they are not unreasonable) of children are fulfilled, the children will not have the opportunity to learn obstinacy." (1)

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MORAL AND SPIRITUAL EDUCATION OF THE CHILD

"It must be the teachers' responsibility to impart knowledge, teach restraint in social life, and give instruction about all the various aspects of collective endeavour, but the parents will have to take on most of the responsibility for the moral and spiritual education of the child. It should be the duty of society as a whole to ensure that the children of immoral and unrighteousness parents are brought up as virtuous citizens. If possible such children should be removed from the unwholesome environment of their parents." (2)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY LIES WITH PARENTS OR GUARDIANS

"The mental outlook of children has already been moulded in a particular fashion by the influence of their family environment before they start school. No matter what or how much they learn at school, it is extremely difficult for them to free themselves from the influence of their family. Drawing on what they have learned in the family, the immature minds of children begin to learn about the world and understand it, and to receive ideas and master language so that they can express those ideas. Unhesitatingly they adopt their elders' way of looking at the world. Hence the primary responsibility for acquainting children with the world lies with their parents or guardians. Children will become assets of society in the future to the extent that their parents or guardians discharge their duties properly." (3)

Namaskar,

It happens only due to Face Book culture,,in our WT's,

Todays whole world has accepted FB is converted into social pollution, but in our WT's group it is equivalent to Vishesh Yoga, As u Know one criteria for Purodhaship is No. of Initiation i.e 500, but right now Our most new Generation WT has more than 500 FB friends either some fake or vulgar friend or some common friend while their no. of Initiation may not be more than 100.  After some time they will be ready for Purodhaship candidate.  Some WT's who's crime has been proved they are  also in the line of Purodhaship.
Should Margii  accept this type of worker for   higher post i.e. Purodha  of Our organisation ???
From so many time we are requesting  our GS, please have control over FB culture, it is not necessary for WT'sSpritual  development but no action has been taken. Due to this... Misuse of Our Margiiya Sampad (Rev. BABA's Pratikriti/ Pratik & Dhwaj) given by Rev, BABA is going on.

Solution :

If some workers or post holder has necessary to use email then provide them Official ID from Administration or configure outlook in  their LAPTOP, because person may be changed but the officials mail is same for new comer for the same post.

Each & Every workers has to report for their GADGETS i.e Camera /Mobile / Laptop  to their Administration because so many worker has uses LAPTOP for theri entertainment, that is understood which type of entertainment. Lower level worker are using LAPTOP, dont know why ??????
So, plz....aware everyone for the same.....because we have to protect our spiritual Family & protect new generation from this type of  disease.

WT Birthday Celebration

Baba

WT BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Namaskar,
In that case, their degeneration is sure. As Baba warns, their destiny is the depths of hell.

THEY ARE USING BABA'S BIRTHDAY SONG FOR THEMSELVES

Now let's critically examine how some of our Wt's are manipulating and entwining Baba's divine songs of Prabhat Samgiita into for the celebration of their own unit donkey birthday.

First, our workers are not supposed to be celebrating their own birthday. This goes against the sanctity of their oaths and against the ideal of their life. They have come onto this earth for something else: To serve Parama Purusa and His creation. One must sing the glory of Parama Purusa and not one's own self.

Second, such Wt's are organising donkey birthday parties for themselves and one another and then singing Baba's special Prabhat Samgiita #135, Janmadine..., in the honour of that worker. When in fact that song is meant to be sung to Taraka Brahma Baba and Baba only during our grand Ananda Purnima celebrations.

Yet, over the years, on multiple occasions, certain Wts have directed Baba's beloved Prabhat Samgiita toward themselves, as if they are the focal point of this divine song and as if their worldly donkey birthday is so important.

As we know, that entire Prabhat Samgiit #135, Janmadine..., is all about celebrating the grand arrival of Parama Purusa, yet some of our workers have begun using this divine song for themselves. They stand there and smile as a whole crowd of people sing that divine Prabhat Samgiita in their honour.

Certainly, there are many, many disciplined workers who would never stoop to such degrading activities, so we are not talking about all Wts. The tragedy is that some disgraced workers are involved in this birthday and this reflects poorly on all. A few of their names are mentioned below.

MORE ABOUT PRABHAT SAMGIITA #135

As true Ananda Margiis will recognise, in Prabhat Samgiita #135, Janmadine ei shubha ks'an'e, the entire song is directed towards Parama Purusa. It is His holy arrival that is being celebrated, not one Dada's worldly donkey birthday.

In the song, due to the grand arrival of Taraka Brahma, devotees are losing themselves in bliss - that is what is meant by the line, "Khusiite vibhora a'panha'ra'.

Plus, the devotees are expressing the love and joy of their heart for Parama Purusa and no one else. That is what is meant by the line, "Udvela hiya' toma'rei la'giya'".

Each and every syllable, line, and stanza of the song is about the grandeur of Parama Purusa and how He makes everyone's heart dance in bliss, and how His arrival creates a new spiritual vibration that transforms the whole world, and how He has come to remain close to the bhakta.

Thus Prabhat Samgiita #135 is a very personal and devotional song that reflects a bhakta's joy in having Parama Purusa in the mind and heart and how His arrival is completely blissful.

To sing this song in honour of one Dada's worldly donkey birthday goes against all ethics of devotional life. According to our standard of Ananda Marga, such an act is not only misguided but the height of hypocrisy.

It is absolutely shocking that they could even think to use Baba's divine Prabhat Samgiita in honour of their own mundane birthday - as if they are the Saviour of this universe.

PP's and GS's BIRTHDAY NOT CELEBRATED

Who can say they have heard about PP Dada's birthday or GS Dada's birthday. The answer is no one. Because it is not done. Yet if this birthday celebration would have been accepted & approved then certainly first PP Dada's birthday would have been celebrated every year. And then step by step GS Dada's birthday followed by Purodha Board members and Central Dadas etc. Like this all high posted worker would be doing. But if you examine the history of AM never has such things been done. Because it is understood that this is not approved by Baba.

FOLLOW CONDUCT AND SPIRIT AVADHUTA

How far is it appropriate & befitting for avadhutas to celebrate their own donkey birthday?

Who can forget that at one time Vishokananda and Madhavananda also carried the title of avadhuta. Thus for those who do not follow the codes and standards of being avadhuta - their title of avadhuta is meaningless. Because Baba's guideline is that being avadhuta in name only is not enough - one must follow the conduct and spirit.

ACARYA SHOULD ALWAYS INSTRUCT BY HIS EXEMPLARY ACTIONS

Taking everything into consideration here following are some of Baba's important guidelines about acarya and avadhuta life.

"A'ca'ran'a't pa'thayati yah sah a'ca'ryah-- 'One who teaches through one's conduct is an acarya'.  If you cannot learn anything from the conduct and behaviour of a certain person, why should you accept that person as an a'ca'rya." (7)

"Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an acarya...an acarya should always instruct by his exemplary actions and words." (8)

JUST DONKEY’S BIRTHDAY

In Ananda Marga, if anything is done for superficial show or in an insincere manner then that is not at all acceptable. For instance, if someone serves you food only to show how great they are then Baba terms that food as: Donkey Food.

“If food is not offered with that heart-felt feeling then that food is donkey food, gardabha’nna. So one must not eat that food.” (9)

Similarly sadhana done with the primary motive of showing one’s greatness instead of pleasing Parama Purusa is donkey sadhana. And if kiirtan is sung with the primary motive as a display of one’s musical talent and instead of to spread the glory of the Lord, then that is donkey kiirtan.

Likewise, when any Wt or avadhuta celebrated their own birthday in their honour instead of spreading the glory of Parama Puruas, then their celebration is a donkey birthday.

SOME FAKE AVADHUTAS INVOLVED IN BIRTHDAY ANTICS

About any such cases where Wts go against their own code of conduct - by celebrating their worldly donkey birthday etc - Baba has given the following teaching:

"Mana na' ra'inga'ile ra'inga'ile yogii kapar'a.

Saffron and red do not a yogiis make
With mind undyed he remains a fake."

"Dye your mind with His colour. Those who have not done so cannot attain Him, for this very coloration is Prema or Divine Love...  No external sign of Sa'dhuta' or virtue is  necessary. Become sa'dhu  within. Behind the external show of virtuousness of many so-called sa'dhus exists a pharisaic state of mind. Preserve the true dignity of the word, Sa'dhu."

“Mu’r'ha mura’ye jata’ bar’a'ye...

With shaven head or matted locks
And ashen body a Sadhu walks
With the swaggering gait of a well-fed buffalo.
And crude mind filled with thoughts mean and low."

"That is why I say that you must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with the His glorious colour." (10)

(A) Some time back in Jharsguda (Orissa, India), there was a big donkey birthday party event held in honour of Dada Priyakrsnananda.

For those not aware, Dada Priyakrsnananda has years and years of experience in Ananda Marga and even in his early years in the Marga he was a Central Worker who lived close to Baba. But unfortunately, those years he was like a rock in a river. Just as the water never touches the inside of the rock despite the rock being immersed in the river, similarly Priyakrsnananda Dada was very close to Baba physically for many years, but internally he was not drenched. Or what we can say.

Perhaps most surprising is that there were many, many so-called senior workers on hand for this donkey birthday gala event and in one big round, they all sang Prabhat Samgiita #135, "Janma dine...", in order to celebrate Dada Priyakrsnananda's birthday.

This type of dogmatic occasion is 100% against the ethics of our Ananda Marga and it sets a very negative example.

(B) Not surprisingly then, more recently in SUVA sector, the very senior Dada Paramatmananda and Didi Ananda Shamiita organised two birthday parties. And once again, they both insisted that PS #135, "Janma dine...", be sung. Thus with printed song sheets etc that Dada and Didi made sure that the donkey birthday event was celebrated with Prabhat Samgiita.

Our so-called senior most workers do not understand the basic principles about Ananda Marga and Prabhat Samgiita. They have forgotten Guru's teachings and guidelines.

(C) Some years ago at New York sector's Boston Regional retreat, Ac. Rainjitananda Avt celebrated his own birthday with full gusto and glory. In grand fashion, everyone present at the retreat sang a hearty round of the traditional American "Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You" song in Dadaji's honor. And during the singing one sumptuous cake was brought out and served to Dadaji. And like that the whole affair took on the flavor of one mundane Americana birthday party whereby non-margiis make a wish for mundane objects as they blow out the candles on the birthday cake and receive presents from one and all etc. So like that Rainjitanandji's celebratory occasion and donkey birthday party was carried out whereby Dada accepted the card and cake and all arrangements in his own honour. Because at that moment Dadaji's birthday was the showcase event going on at the retreat.

(D) Didi Ananda Kalyanshrii has also been involved in grand birthday celebrations. This Didi who used to be DSL Delhi and then became SWWS Delhi had big donkey birthday celebrations where all her children's home kids would sing for her. Actually this Didi has a long history of self-glorification. All recall how Didi celebrated her donkey birthday with much pomp and show.

(E) Here is a list of more Wt Dadas and Wt Didis who use Prabhat Samgiita to celebrate themselves on their worldly birthday - plus they accept and receive presents as well. Please forward this letter to them so they are aware about this matter

And there are more...

First please forward this letter to the aforementioned Wts. Second, write us if you have seen other Wt Dadas or Didis doing like this type of donkey birthday.

CONCLUSION

The sole reason for writing this letter and addressing this issue is to help those Wts rectify their conduct and improve the overall standard of our Wt cadre. If this problem is not solved, then some of the newer Wts many also adopt this donkey birthday ritual and prolong the dogma. Yet we should not let this problem mount. We must also bear in mind that many Wts - new and old - do not support these Wt donkey birthday celebrations yet they are not in position to rectify the matter. Whatever the circumstance, as Ananda Margiis it is our duty to bring this issue to the fore so it can be properly addressed and resolved.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Nityanirainjan Deva
