Self-praise is bad for sadhakas - 1

Baba says: Who does "Meow, meow"? "You did a little work and propagate; 'I have done , I have done .'  "I have done this, I have done that". People praise themselves too much saying 'I', 'I'. Oh, why would you say that much I, I. Oh, why would you say "Meow, meow"? If anyone does "Meow, meow, meow" it is a cat. (*) (Laughter) What do you think? Who does "Meow, meow"? The cat. Yes.

Man does a little, (showing with the two fingers and thumb of His hand) this much, and expresses (showing by expanding both the hands to max) this much. Don't do like this. Continue to do work with His thought in mind. No need to tell anybody about it. Parama Purusa is doing every work of the entire universe; does He talk about it? No He does not. Niirav karmi bano, Be a silent worker." (2)

(*) The cat makes the sound “meow, meow”, and that sound is very similar to the Hindi word for “I” or “oneself.” So according to Hindi, it sounds like the cat just moves around all day glorifying itself - meow meow. So Baba is making a joke that human beings should not glorify themselves all day long (“I did this”, “I did that”) like the cat - meow, meow.

Watch out - you may come across some Wts whose behaviour is similar - they praise themselves and say, “I did this and I did that.” As they are our family members, we should politely tell them not to praise themselves but sing the glory of Parama Purusa - not self-glorification.

See below how this so-called avadhutika is completely enamoured with ​self-publicity - just he is ​looking at the camera. Although outwardly it looks like he is ​doing service work / food distribution, ​but ​inwardly she is doing business. She is doing this to get prestige. Self-publicity is the gain from her business.

Whereas service is something completely different. When you serve by giving to the beggar then you do not take anything in return. You are not  concerned about any prestige etc. Because your service work is due to the inspiration and energy of Parama Purusa.

But this fake Wt is doing so-called service. Just she is posing to have an excellent photo for the newspaper. After the photo shoot, she walked away and others took over the job. But this fake Wt put her photo up on Facebook. And when her grand photo appeared and everyone had seen it on Facebook, then she showed everyone, "Look, I did a great job." But that is just her hypocrisy.

All along her mind was ​wholly focused and involved in ​self-propaganda. The proof is that Didi ji is not even looking towards the person to whom she is distributing the food. Just Didi ji is fully engulfed in getting herself in the photo. Take a look below.

Although she is ​showing to others that she is ​doing service work, ​but her mind is ​wholly focused and involved in ​self-propaganda. Doing for self-satisfaction means that the mind is wrapped around its own ego and it is getting smaller and smaller as one thinks only about their own petty self. It is very constricting and goes directly against the entire ethic of Ananda Marga  which stands for psychic expansion.

Self-propaganda is antithetical to spirituality

Here below Baba clearly demonstrates the mindset of such ​fake wts who perform actions​ solely for their own name and fame, not to selflessly serve others.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Suppose a certain man donates one thousand rupees to a particular institution. The next day he looks anxiously for his name in the newspaper. If his name does not appear in the paper, then with an air of conceit he brags amongst his kith and kin. “I have donated a thousand rupees, but I do not desire recognition and therefore I have not published my name in the paper.” The desire for fame exists in a concealed form in that man’s mind. Clearly, he did not make the donation with the spirit of service." (3)

Baba ​clearly guides us that this approach is devoid of the real spirit of service. Unfortunately, that is the overall approach nowadays. People are dominated by ego satisfaction, tragically. And it looks like some this Wt has adopted this very tactic.

Is reborn as a cat​

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Which animal is the greediest among the animals with which we are all very familiar? It does not like to give up greed in spite of ill treatment and humiliations. It is the cat. Yes, after moving a few steps ahead, the cat forgets that it was beaten. So, that particular person is reborn as a cat after death, because that body affords an opportunity for the satiation of their greed. When the housewife looks around inattentively, the cat sneaks into the kitchen through the small opening in order to reach the milk or fish in the kitchen. So in order to exhaust the saḿskáras one needs an appropriate body. Some people obtain a new body immediately after death and others obtain it later. But one has to obtain it somehow." (4)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "One who is doing philanthropic work today, tries to find out tomorrow whether or not their name appeared in the newspaper. They have no desire to read the other news. They read the news that relates to themselves twenty times but do not go through the other news with much enthusiasm. If someone asks they might say that today there was only one important piece of news, nothing else. That is how a person comes under the sway of a propensity and remains subject to the cycle of birth and rebirth." (5)

Due to the mass propagation of the self-centered philosophy of materialism, there is an increase in an ego-oriented outlook. This is evident with so-called Wts. ​Fake wts often act out of extreme self-satisfaction - for the sake of boosting their own ego.

Afterwards they may brag about their own "greatness". They announce to others about how they did top-level social service​. But that is their hypocrisy. They did solely for their own self-propaganda and getting their face in the newspaper. This is the on-going​ dirty ​trend amongst fake Wts.

Hypocrisy unmasked

Note: In their elitist announcement, two B group Dadas wrote - "killing of 17 Ananda Marga Sanyasis and Sanyasini on 30th April 1982 at Bijan Setu" - as if only sannyasis were murdered that day. So brother Rajeshji unmasked their hypocrisy and rightly raised the point that family margiis were also killed, namely Shrii Ram Raghuvar Agrawal of Jaipur (Rajasthan, India). Unfortunate that name was omitted from B group's list because he was a family man.
Shrii Ram Raghuvar Agrawal was a BP and fully dedicated to Sadguru Baba's ideals. On that fateful afternoon Ram Raghuvar was riding in a taxi. The cab was stopped and raided. Those communist attackers saw Ram Raghuvar's long hair and long beard. So they brutally murdered him then and there in the street. It was an absolutely horrific scene.

Not only that, Shrii Vanshidhar Parikh, also of Jaipur, was riding in the same taxi. Vanshidhar Parikh was beaten mercilessly but somehow he survived. Yet Shrii Vanshidhar has worn the gruesome scars from that incident all these years. It is a gory reminder of the horror that took place that day. So this a glaring example of the sacrifice of family margiis for the great ideology of Ananda Marga. But B group neglected to mention these facts, unfortunately.


Here below brother Rajesh points out the hypocritical manner of these two B group dadas.

I strongly protest for misleading and manipulating the Bijon Setu Massacre fact. On fateful day of 30th April, 1982 along with 14 WTs, 2 Didis (Didi Anand Pracheta and one unknown) one Grihii Margii of Jaipur, Sri Ram Raghuvar Agarwalji was also killed.

Its shameful on your part that you intentionally avoided to recognize the sacrifice of Grihii Margii.

I have seen politicians playing dirty politics on deaths but you people have stoop so low, worst than the politicians.

Shame!!! Shame!!!! Shame!!!!!!

I condemned your shameful act with strongest possible words and demand public apology with immediate correction of facts.

Knowing about previous life

   Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Forgetfulness is a providential decree. Usually human beings forget their past lives. Is this forgetfulness a blessing or a curse? It is a blessing because human beings feel burdened by the weight of one life. It would be impossible for them to carry the burden of many lives together."
   "The human mind is sentimental – full of love, affection, camaraderie, etc. People have a deep attraction to this world; they remain preoccupied throughout their lives with fears and anxieties for the safety of their families. So many problems have to be confronted. The problems of one life alone are enough to make people restless. If they had to face the problems of several lives, they would be unable to lead a natural life. The problems of the past lives, compounded by the strife of the present life, would drive them to the brink of insanity. Secondly, it is difficult for people to be detached from love and attachment for one life. So much effort is required to overcome the bondages of attachment and march towards Parama Puruśa. If the memory of the past lives is revived, the bondage of attachment will tighten its grip, putting a halt to spiritual advancement. One will be caught in the grip of worldly attachment. Thus the decree of merciful providence is, “Let human beings be oblivious of their past lives.”" (1)

Annual death day of margii wake

One of the motives behind the annual death day ceremony of margiis is pressure from dogmatic Hindu neighbours and relatives. Some margiis observe this ritual to appease their relatives. Extended family members often give pressure to follow the Hindu yearly death ritual on the anniversary of the death of that margii.

But it should be clear that those involved in observing the annual death ceremony of margiis are not gaining points with Parama Purusa. Rather they are facing degradation. Because one cannot please Baba by indulging in an observance Hindu dogma. But some sadhakas fall into this trap because it is "easy" and a common custom.

Mostly though, in their innocence, margiis are just emulating what they see happening in Kolkata each year. There are a growing number of margii families involved in this annual death day dogma of their relatives. If we do not discourage this ritual, this dogma will spread.

Sending deceased in "heaven"

There is no heaven so there is no need to send food to "heaven". Nor should we offer articles like clothing in hopes that a deceased loved one will get those things when the deceased person reaches "heaven". Yet that Hindu dogma is being dragged into Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha. These days some margiis are distributing blankets, sweets, delicacies, and biscuit packages. They think that by making these offerings here on earth, those same gifts will be bestowed upon their loved one in "heaven". So during their special annual death day ceremony of the deceased margii family member, they are distributing blankets, sweets, delicacies, and biscuit packages as part of the yearly death ritual. Or if the annual death day ceremony of that margii falls on a Sunday, then they are make those offerings before, during, and after dharmacakra.

However, as Ananda Margiis, we should not give an ounce of credence to such ritualistic dogmas. Ours is a rational approach. In the case of deceased margiis, we should know that those sadhakas are under the care of Parama Purusa and have been blessed with the ultimate salvation, i.e. they have become one with Him. In the case of ordinary persons, after death they are reborn to continue their journey along the path of pratisaincara.


Emulating dogmatic MPD program

Some margii families have gotten caught up in annual death day celebrations because the Kolkata faction has reinforced this Hindu dogma of the annual death day ceremony as being something great. By doing this with Baba for their so-called mahaprayan program, they have indirectly or directly influenced the minds of innocent margiis who want to revere their deceased family members. By this chain of events so many have been led astray.

Conclusion

All family margiis should be aware that the so-called MPD program is not a guiding light for making annual death day observations for their deceased margii family members. This is not the way of dharma and benefits no one - rather the organisers will incur negative samskaras. As sadhakas, we all know that the way to please Him and honour our deceased family member is by adhering to His teachings and guidelines and not getting caught up in various dogmas like punyatithi (Hindu yearly death ritual for the ceremony of margiis) etc.

Loss in so many ways

A drunkard offers alcohol to all they meet because the drunkard thinks since he likes alcohol then all must like it. Similarly dogmatic people think that their dogma will be pleasing to others. So they indulge in ritualistic death ceremonies of margiis. But such antics are not supported by Ananda Marga teachings.

Inventors of MPD want to see their dogma spread

In their own manner, the founders of so-called mahaprayan become happy by watching others by inculcating the annual death day ceremony of margiis into their family’s annual death observations.. Baba describes this defective mentality in His below teaching.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Even educated people knowingly submit to dogma. They know that they are surrendering their intellect to dogma, and that the outcome will be undesirable; they know and understand everything. Why, even then, do they knowingly submit to it? They are all deliberate sinners and intentionally accept dogmas as truth. They observe that these dogmas are based on A'tma-Sukha Tattva; but they think, "I don't care whether it does good or harm to others, because at last I have enjoyed some pleasure!" Being motivated by this idea, they enslave themselves to dogmas." (1)


Beware

I know some very good margiis who fought against all kinds of social and religious dogmas, yet when they themselves died, a yearly death ritual ceremony  = was conducted per those very same religious dogmas. Essentially, at the time of their death, their own laokik family members argued and debated. Some of those family members and relatives told that the deceased wanted the Hindu, annual death ritual ceremony, while various margiis said that there should not be be yearly death ritual as that runs contrary to the Ananda Marga system. On many of those occasions, those dogmatic relatives won out. So ultimately the very person who fought against Hindu dogma was himself a victim of that same annual death day dogma. Such is the irony.

To avoid this many margiis have made a will indicating their wishes for how their death should be handled.

So if you notice that your own family members are not strict in following Ananda Marga principles, then they may do the same thing for you. They might observe your yearly death-day ritual ceremony per local religious custom etc, and celebrate your death day on a yearly basis. The only way to prevent this dogma from happening is to prepare your will accordingly.

Death comes suddenly. Even in this materialistic era, all around the globe organisations and institutions have protocol regarding death. They have members and key people designate what happens if and when they are no more. Regardless of the age of the prime minister, that leader must write a will.

This is practical matter and we must tell family members about our feeling. That will help in eliminating this dogma otherwise under the pressure of dogmatic Hindu relatives and neighbors, our own family member may succumb to alter of dogma and observe a yearly death ritual program on the anniversary of that margii’s death.

Externally, some margiis may claim that they are observing the death day of their loved one because that is done annually at MPD.

Annual death day ceremony of BP

It is sad that the Hindu dogma of shraddha or punyatithi has been redecorated and given a place in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha - not just in the form of so-called mahaprayan but also as an annual death day ceremony for deceased Ananda Margiis. By witnessing the dogma of MPD in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, which is just a remake of the dogmatic Hindu punyatithi program, some family margiis are inculcating this same dogma with their deceased family members. These family margiis innocently think they are doing something glorious by pleasing all parties involved - wishing that their deceased relative reaches "heaven" and showering praise on Parama Purusa. But Baba is never pleased by the spread of dogma.

So these are the two prevailing reasons and motivations behind the dogmatic annual death of day ceremonies of margiis: (#1) pressure from dogmatic-minded relatives, and (#2) emulating so-called mahaprayan.

Just because one group invented their so-called mahaprayan program based on Hindu dogma does not then mean that all AM family members should create similar programs for their deceased loved one. Doing so invites the unhappiness of Parama Purusa, not His favour. So it is a loss in so many ways.

I went to many dogmatic religious sites near rivers and oceans. I sought You in the flower garden, forests, and in various tiirthas like - Varanasi, Puri, Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, and I also went to Ananda Nagar, Tiljala, Jamalpur, and the top of the Himalayan mountain ranges etc - all done in hopes of getting a glance at You. I looked for You everywhere with the hope that somewhere I will find You. But in the end I was only met with extreme disappointment. I could not get You anywhere.

O’ the Eternal Charioteer of this kuruks’etra, You never get any respite. All the 24 hours You are engaged. Friends and foes alike, all take shelter in You. I have heard their stories and they all told of Your greatness...

What is the cause of dreams

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “I said a little while ago that dreaming means thinking or recollecting during sleep. Now the first question that arises is this: Why do people not always think or recollect during sleep? During the wakeful state, people are always thinking or recollecting. Even when people meditate in the wakeful state, they are thinking of, or recollecting, Supreme Consciousness. In the waking state, the mind never remains inactive. Then why does it not always dream during sleep? The answer is, the sleeping state means a state of rest for the mind. But if, before or at the time of sleep, one is tormented with deep sorrow, or becomes overjoyed with extreme happiness, or is afflicted with a serious disease, or is brooding over imaginary pains and pleasures – then during sleep if the gases in the body rise and create vibrations in the nerve cells, one starts thinking and recollecting. That is why people do not always dream during every sleep. (1)

On 10 Nov there was a PROUT rally in Delhi on Parliament Street. Unfortunately, the calibre of PROUT leadership was not up to the proper standard. Ac Randhir ji (Saharsa) and Susheel Ranjan (Magahi Samaj) were the main Prout leaders. Young Vijay Prabhat (an IT Engineer) is taking immense interest in Prout rally.

Apart from the above mention people, the remaining Margis sitting there are mostly old and do not have leadership quality at all. There are no good speakers. Their speeches are not spellbinding. Moreover, there is much doubt on these margiis regarding being sadvipras. Baba has clearly written that those who will endlessly fight against injustices and follow yama  & niyama are sadvipras.

Pseudo-sadvipras never fought against land sale by R group

The problem is that the margiis who arrived for PROUT rally - besides Susheel Ranjan - have never publicly raised any ideological issues. They never fought against land sale by Ranchi AMPS. They never publicly raise their voice against the dogmatic mahaprayan program or and the distortion of Baba’s books. In addition, mostly they do not observe ekadashii fasting without water regularly etc

When they don't have courage to fight against ideological issues, injustices, how they will become (be called) sadvipras? India needs sadvipras to lead the Prout movement, not such margiis who don't have courage to fight against ideological issues.

To understand this point, one should know how newspapers are used in India and in so-called poor countries around the globe - especially in impoverished neighborhoods and slums.

(a) newspapers are used as diapers when little kids urinates in their pants;

(b) journals are used by poor and vagrant people who stuff it inside their underwear to soak up the dripping urine / incontinence;

(c) newspapers are tossed by the side of the road where street dogs and wild pigs urinate on them;

(d) newsletter are used as toilets where people defecate into them and toss it into the open sewage line along the side of the road in the slums

So the above are some of the very real and common ways newspapers are used in cities and towns in India and so-called poor countries and destitute regions around the globe, especially in impoverished neighborhoods and slums. Please keep this graphic vision in mind as you read this letter.

See how he ruined sanctity of Guru’s photo

Now look how one Dada has yet again published Guru’s photo in the newspaper whereby it will invariably become soiled in some grotesque manner. Please see below how he placed Sadguru Baba’s photo in the direct center of the article which was published on 07 November 2017 in the Hindustan Times.

Newspaper used as diaper

Here below is the photo of Dada Divyacetanananda - he is the one who keeps putting Guru’s photo in the newspaper whereby it gets used as a diaper in the slums. It is most unfortunate. In spite of repeated requests by countless margiis and Wts not to print Baba’s photo in the newspaper, Divyacetanananda told, “I do not care about Guru’s teaching, I will do according to my liking.” In this way he disregards these pleas and contravenes Guru’s obvious teachings which forbids such acts and he publishes Baba’s photo in the newspaper - again and again.

Bhaktas & sanctity of Marga Guru’s photo

The dharmashastra of our Ananda Marga ideology clearly states that the sanctity of Marga Guru’s photo must be maintained in a pristine and pure way that gives the utmost respect.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us that you shall maintain in all regards and all costs the reverence and purity of the image / photo of Marga Gurudeva.

That means the sanctity of your Sadguru’s photo must be safeguarded always. On this matter, there is no scope for compromise. Your Guru’s photo is to be protected in all conditions and circumstances – without fail. On this matter, every disciple of Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji has taken the oath to be very strict. And if any sadhaka disobeys this point they will sever their relation with Guru and ruin their spiritual life.

Unfortunately, some are going against this dharmic tantric code and harming themselves. What is it that they are doing? They are printing / publishing Guru’s photo in the newspaper. And this radically contravenes our the tantric code of sanctity of Marga Guru’s photo. Because newspapers are thrown by the side of the road where street dogs and wild pigs urinate on them.

Newspapers used as a diaper in the slums

Indeed, see how newspapers are used in India and around the globe:

(a) Newspapers are used as diapers so when little kids pass stool their feces gets completely mushed and pressed into that newspaper. So if Guru’s photo is published in the newspaper you can imagine how it will look.

(b) Newspapers are lobbed by the side of the road where street dogs and wild pigs urinate on them. Those newspapers become completely saturated with that foul waste material, i.e. dog urine. Again just imagine how Guru’s photo will look if printed in the newspaper and this happened.

(c) Newspapers are used by poor and homeless people who suffer from incontinence. That means those poor patients place the newspaper in their groin where it is sweaty and sticky and the newspaper sits there all day to soak up the urine, drop by drop.

(d) Newspapers are used for blowing one’s nose and spitting, and then it gets cast in the open sewage line along the side of the road.

Such is the grotesque fate of a typical newspaper, especially in India and similar regions etc. It is nauseating and unbearing to even think what it would be like to have Sadguru Baba’s photo soiled in this way. That is why it is sinful, adharmic, and against the codes of tantra to publish Guru’s photo in the newspaper. In that case, the sanctity of Guru’s photo will be ruined.

Conclusion: abhorrent act

Baba never approved His photo for being printed in the newspaper. Indeed, He would not even grant interviews to the press. Thus, His divine example is enough to guide us that His photo is not to be published in the newspaper.

This entire matter concerns the sanctity of Ista and is fundamental to safeguarding the sanctity of Guru’s photo. On this point there has to be cent-per-cent strictness. No Baba photo should ever appear in the newspaper or similar type of publication etc. As Ananda Margiis, it is our duty to abide by Sadguru Baba’s wish. We must adhere to His word, and follow the fundamental of Ananda Marga ideology.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us that you shall keep in all regards and all costs the grandeur and sanctity of the image / photo of Marga Gurudeva.

Those who contravene Guru’s teachings will have to face the grave consequences as they have committed sin by insulting Guru.

Evil deeds of this Dada

The one Dada who regularly insults Guru by publishing Sadguru Baba’s photo in the newspaper is Dada Divyacetanananda. In this way Guru’s photo gets tossed on the road where diseased street dogs and pigs urinate on it.

Indeed, this Divyacetanananda insults Guru again and again. Margiis have raised this concern with him repeatedly, but Dadaji never stops committing this sin. Again and again, Divyacetanananda violates this fundamental tantric code. It seems he has zero regard for Baba’s guidelines. Divyacetanananda is a demon in human form.

Wt Conduct Rule states: “Avadhuta shall always keep himself engaged in the service of Gurudeva with sincerity and devotion, in thought, words and deed, in subtle and in crude spheres, in inner and outer expressions of life.” (2)

Wt Conduct Rule states: “We are all children of the same Father. We are all member of the same family. By fighting against all kinds of evil forces, we will establish the glory of our Father and the glory of our family.” (3)
