Mahaprayan & death
Namaskar,
This is the scene of an annual mahaprayan program in honour of Santji, a mortal being. This mahaprayan observance is being held at the Navindh school. Their aim is to send a message to the deceased person in heaven that, "We remember you." The organisers clearly explain how this mahaprayan is the annual death ceremony of this human being - in order to pay homage to him. This is a non-margii annual death ceremony.

Commoners use mahaprayan term
The concept of "mahaprayan" means death - i.e. the death of an ordinary human being. And that is exactly what is displayed in the below scene. They are observing the anniversary of the death of a particular person.
The term mahaprayan is the first word of the top caption title of the below photo. In the upper left corner it says, “Mahaprayan”. And, no doubt, if you type this in as a Google search then you will certainly find it.
Mahaprayan = death of one mortal being
This is proof that such mahaprayan programs - annual death ceremonies - are widely held throughout India and other regions, as the accepted occasion for one's death in order to send the message to the dead person that, "We remember you."

All should know that these mahaprayan functions are not something special or unique - it is a death ceremony. So it is not a lofty tradition - just it is a dogma, as often they observe the death year after year etc. And the whole occasion is observed to send the message to the deceased in heaven that, "We remember and honour you." This is done for all kinds of ordinary persons in various communities.
So, just as depicted in the scene at the Navindh school, the concept of mahaprayan is used to denote the death of a human being who has departed this world. The mahaprayan of every human being is observed. That is why the mahaprayan ceremony is not for Taraka Brahma because He did not depart - He is the eternal Parama Purusa. So the mahaprayan concept is for ordinary deceased humans, i.e. those who lost their mortal life.
Our duty to eradicate all dogmas
Some think that as Ananda Margiis we should live happily and not care about all these things. That is the wrong approach and defeats the purpose of creating the organisation, AMPS. All kinds of societal dogmas were in vogue and Baba created Ananda Marga ideology to eradicate those dogmas. Naturally then we must not allow such dogmas in our very own organisation, AMPS. If we ignore those dogmas, it defeats the purpose of the formation of the organisation, Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.

Issue of bhakti: Guru is being abused
So I ask you: Pause and think. This letter is not about groupism; this is a devotional issue. Guru is being abused. Don't you think Guru is with you always? In the tantra of Ananda Marga, sadhana starts with this feeling that, "Guru is with me." One must have this basic feeling. So naturally every Ananda Margii thinks their Sadguru is with them. Then why are we allowing this dogmatic annual death ceremony, i.e. mahaprayan, i.e. that Guru is dead.
In Him,
Karttik

Lowly state of some Wts
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Whenever there is a decline in spiritual culture in the world the cause is a lack of spiritual aspirants and qualified preceptors. In this modern world developed and effective spiritual science is freely available, but there is certainly a lack of inquisitive spiritual seekers and qualified teachers. Qualified spiritual teachers are those with a developed integral outlook and a capacity to impart it to their students. Unfortunately so many so-called spiritual teachers are inculcating defective and narrow ideas in the name of spirituality to serve their own self-interests." (1)
Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Others cite mythological stories to explain that certain gods bestow their powers on the faithful disciples, but other gods mercilessly punish the detractors. They jump at every opportunity to take advantage of the sentimental weaknesses of their credulous disciples, and in the name of spiritual training create obstacles on the path of spiritual progress by relating all kinds of cock and bull stories...These “religious merchants” with their non-integral outlook, want to divide humanity into different groups (Indians, Germans, Russians, etc.) ." (2)
Note: Sadly, Baba’s above teaching also applies to the current situation in AMPS where some degenerated Wts are spreading the poison of groupism in the minds of margiis.
